A beautiful idyllic lodge with a gorgeous hot tub perfect for the late evenings listening to the owls!
Anita from Maidstone (31 August 2018)

We had an amazing escape to the forest of dean lodges. So relaxing and lots to do in the area. Amazing accommodation that was to a really high standard.
Claire from Northampton (31 August 2018)

The lodge had a fully equipped kitchen. However dishwasher was briken , sink leaked . bathrooms were tired looking with tiles broken and generally shower plastic trims dirty .fir a golden oak rating I world have expected the finer details to be of a better standard
Sindy (31 August 2018)

Lovely place to wind down for a few days
Mike from Swansea (20 August 2018)

Don’t book to go here, overpriced, overlooked, overcrowded. Stayed at sherwood site before here, head and shoulders above forest of dean.
Lee from Wolverhampton (17 August 2018)

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in the middle. Of what felt like nowhere, relaxing with family. The lodge was beautiful, and spacious, it wasn’t as clean as i’d hoped but I just quickly wiped all the surfaces etc and it was fine. Bathrooms needed a bit of a revamp as the shower was leaky and it was a bit mildewy (leaky shower was fixed by the team though). beds were super comfy! we paid for the entertainment package which was great, kids loved watching a film before bed with snacks! we ordered take out pizza the first night which was tasty! the hot tub was used for hours every day and we all loved it!
Kate from Birmingham (06 August 2018)

Plenty to do in the area.
Verna (03 August 2018)

We loved the holiday but were disappointed to find that there was no gas for our bbq on the 1st day and we were promised a replacement that evening which didnt happen. however the next day it was replaced first thing once I raised it again and a problem we had with the shower was also repaired quickly. We were disappointed not be able to have a bbq the 1st night and felt that we had lost money as we had paid extra for the gas bbq.
Carla (03 August 2018)

Lovely weekend shop was very expensive. Cabin and hot tub were clean and tidy would recommend it but not the shop.
Nigel from Nuneaton (30 July 2018)

This was one of the most beautiful settings we have ever been to on holiday. We had a lodge in the forest setting and being surrounded by trees and wildlife was so relaxing. There were other lodges nearby but they have been laid out so well that we did not feel overlooked or cramped at all. The hot tub was amazing and one of the main reasons we went to forest holidays. We cannot recommend these holidays more highly.
Rachel from Central Scotland (27 July 2018)

Beautiful
Tracey from Bristol (06 July 2018)

Loved the forest setting - lodge had everything we needed (fridge could have been a little bit bigger for 6 of us, but we managed !) hot tub was an added luxury and got used every night. very convenient location for exploring ross on wye and symonds yat.
Deirdre from Stroud, Gloucestershire (18 June 2018)

Pleasant well run site, with helpful staff
Michael from Huddersfield (08 June 2018)

It is a fantastic place for a holiday. The accomodation is beautiful, to go with the beautiful setting. We have been coming for 4yrs now, and have booked already for next years, although a bit dissapointed as the copper beech cabins are being upgraded to silver birch, so the prices have been increased.
Samantha from Telford (01 June 2018)

Very expensive not worth it, that was our main family holiday and was disappointed. We can not afford to go away again as this took up all our funds.
Tracy from Shropshire (01 June 2018)

On arrival, there was no queue and we were assisted by a lovely lady who went through everything we needed to know and gave us lots of other local information and our keys! our cabin was in a lovely location, nestled into the woods with the reception and trails into the woods a short walk away. The cabin was clean and welcoming with everything we could need, and some games thrown in too! what a lovely touch! the hot tub was perfect after a long walk in the woods! loved every minute of our stay!
Debbie from Birmingham (28 May 2018)

My partner and I booked a 3 night stay in one of the hideaways for a short break away from reality. . being the first time away without the kids, I really wasn’t too worried on how the holiday would be as I just wanted peace and quiet from life. . both of us were blown away once we arrived at forest holidays. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and once we had checked in we were left to get our bearings. . the lodge it’s self was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky to get one of the most secluded of the hideaways, which made it even better. The lodge we beautifully set out and they even had a few complimentary items as part of our package (basic, no extras) even champagne! at roughly around 7:30pm a couple of members of staff came to check on us to make sure everything was okay. . . the rest of the holiday was amazing. Just wanted we both wanted, peace and quiet. . we hired bikes and they were great. We only wanted them for one day but as we wanted to set off early, we asked if we could pick them up the night before. They were perfectly fine with that and even let us take them when we enquired about it at 11am. We practically had them for 2 days, paying for only 1. . . the only small issue we had, was our bbq was missing the cooking rack and when we raised it, they said they would sort it but didn’t for 2 days. We had to remind them several times. It didn’t worry us though, these things happen. . . my advice also, if you want to do any of the activities on site, pre book. We wanted to do archery but unfortunately it was fully booked for the whole of our holiday. . . we had an amazing time and are looking to book next year but in a different location for no other reason but that we like to try different places. We would definitely go back to forest of dean site.
Lauren from Kent (21 May 2018)

The lodge itself was fantastic, well decorated and in pretty good condition. The location is absolutely stunning, with many walks and a few cycle paths. We did a nighttime ranger walk, and jerry was very personable, informative and entertaining, and the professor was a nice highlight. . . the only downside was that the lodges are quite close together, and not everyone is there to enjoy the wildlife and peace and quiet. The people using their hot tub and listening to edm and later watching a cookery program at full volume were a bit of a let down.
Jeff (21 May 2018)

We love this holiday.xxxx
Janine from Cardiff (18 May 2018)

Upon arrival the underfloor heating had been set to maximum, 30°, it was boiling! and it didn't help that you can only open the windows slightly to try and cool it down. When we told a receptionist what had happened, she did and said nothing to help. There was also some missing bin bags for recycling meaning we had to throw away recyclable waste. Otherwise we had a lovely stay, the lodge was very clean and the hot tub was amazing!
Chloe from West Sussex (30 April 2018)

We had a wonderful time - everything we needed in the lodge was there and of course there was the hot tub! sitting in the wonderfully warm water amongst the trees, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels was just lovely. we went on great walks through the forest to symonds yat and felt that we had been away for much longer than three days. a relaxing and wonderful break.
Elaine from Cirencester (27 April 2018)

Fab lodge but dusty in places - could do with some tlc and updating. . hot tub was fab, fitted 5 well , any more and it would be tight!. lovely forest location, warm and cosy with underfloor heating.
Sheena from Penarth (19 February 2018)

Fantastic lodges , will be returning later on this year
Carl (19 February 2018)

Fabulous location and enjoyed getting away with my partner. The staff were amazingly helpful. I just found that everything had a price even had to pay for a leaflet to show the route to take when going on the walks. They offer free wi-fi which was so bad you could not load anything and there was no signal to use my own and therefore I had to pay to have the better wi-fi. Also for the cost I would of expected box office movies from sky but we just had a few films to choose from so we did not make use of it and freeview sports channels which we didn't use so we paid for the wi-fi really. Charging 45.00 for 3 nights you would expect sky. Absolutely loved the hot tub it was the best part for us.

We had a lovely break with our family and dog. Great location, overall the lodge was good but felt it was a bit tired and in need of a bit of a touch up. The lodge was clean to the eye but the kitchen floor had spillages from previous visitors and toothpaste down door frame in bathroom. It just didn’t feel sparkling clean but it didn’t spoil our stay. The hot tub was fantastic and well maintained.

Lovely location, amazing cabins. I imagine in the summer when it’s busy it would be a little too close to other people for me, but in winter when not every cabin is occupied it was great.

Love this location and the cosyness of the lodge. The pledge needed a bit of updating but I understood that that is happening. The staff were all amazing and so helpful. There was one particular who twice didn’t greet me at all when she served me and I had to talk to her and probe her for answers which working in customer service myself I saw as being quite rude. However I cant complement the other staff enough! we’ll be back again!

Sara from Derby (06 October 2017)

Wonderful holiday, loved the lodge & didn't want to leave! lovely place with amazing views nearby & hot tub was ace! our dog loved the holiday too!
Sara from Derby (06 October 2017)

Thought the cost of entertainment pack was expensive, would have preferred a wifi pack for the week
Andrew from Epworth (04 September 2017)

We went as a family with 2 boys aged 15 had a great time hot tub was great would go again
Angela from Kent (04 September 2017)

Excellent facility. Really enjoyed.
Joanne (28 August 2017)

Not very good highly overpriced
Hayley from Kent (25 August 2017)

Relaxing surroundings for those who love the outdoors .
Matthew from Bridgend (21 August 2017)

Amazing
Tracy from Oxford (21 August 2017)

Beautiful. Really a shame that for this amount to rent the lodge you have to buy your own toiletpaper!
Liesbeth from Leiden, The ,,Netherlands (14 August 2017)

First impression of the lodge was good, although when we looked around and wandered outside the lodge was pretty dirty. The outside near the hot tub was awful, not forgetting that your guest go out there in swimsuits etc, the amount of cobwebs all over the decking and fencing was really bad. The lounge sofa was all stained it didn't feel great to sit on, and please can someone put a mattress protect on the mattresses?? surely you wouldn't expect any guest to sleep where hundreds have slept without protection on your mattresses? would you?. we enjoyed our break, surrounding were beautiful. I'd say an extra 10% on cleaning would go along way though. Thanks.
Michelle from Oxford (14 August 2017)

Beautiful location, walking paths well signposted. A lovely relaxing family time spent at the forest of dean.
Julie (14 August 2017)

Fantastic accommodation and setting
Nigel from Portsmouth (14 August 2017)

Great family time. Definitely go again. Only downside charges for wifi comes over as penny pinching. This is an old practice which was fine in 2000 but should be included in 2017
Ian (07 August 2017)

Nice location next to forest, nice walks right next to cabin
Jean from Cardiff (07 August 2017)

I've sent in a separate email with full details
Marie from Nottingham (04 August 2017)

Absolutely fantastic 3 night stay . there is everything you need in cabins and if not just ask a member of staff. The hot tub was fab .
Rachael (31 July 2017)

Seemed tired, little things need attention in lodge would make all the difference. If someone wiped cob webs from outside once a week would give a far better impression. Sofa riped, integrated front to fridge door not attached correctly, issues lighting hob, tired bathrooms / top side wood v tired. Seems like sweating assets , could do with investment especially as paying premium prices.
Nick (28 July 2017)

Great location.great lodge.
Julian (28 July 2017)

We enjoyed the holiday but we wish we had stayed longer but due to the price we couldn't. maybe if you could reduce the price next time (not put the prices up due school holiday's) then a lot more people would stay for longer.
Mark from Neath (28 July 2017)

The location of the holiday park is good, easy excess to local supermarkets and restaurants. It's about an hour or two to drive to cotswold, beaches, warwick and stratford-upon-avon. The facility is very good onsite and there are lots of actives for both the big ones and the young ones. We tried both the pizza night pack and curry night pack. The delivery was quick and the food tasted ok (though they forgot to give us 4pk of cobra beer which is supposed to come with the curry night pack ).
Gina from Manchester (24 July 2017)

Very good and well looked after . will visit again.
Robert from Cheltenham (24 July 2017)

Lovely location however I found the staff not very helpful in terms of whats around the local area or distances
Alison from Northampton (21 July 2017)

Disappointed.
Ian (21 July 2017)

We had a wonderful time.
Sharon from Hastings (21 July 2017)

There were white stains all over the sofa, we weren't very comfortable sitting on it. other than that, everything was perfect!
Jethro (17 July 2017)

We had the best time ever!!!
Janice (17 July 2017)

Amazing hidden gem! the lodges were great and the hot tub was absolutely amazing.
Customer 98 from Northwich (17 July 2017)

Stayed in lodge 17 it was very unclean, bbq was filthy full of food and grease. Was really disappointed as we were really looking forward to staying, think the cleaning staff could do with a bit of training. When checking out I wasn't even asked if I enjoyed my stay, not helpful at all when I explained the cleanliness issue either, felt they could do with customer service training too.
Stephanie (14 July 2017)

Loved it, so peaceful, top quality accommodation and the hot tub was great!
Julie from Gloucester (14 July 2017)

Good location for visiting family and friends in the forest and for active holiday pursuits. The lodge is comfortable to spend time relaxing and as a base to explore the forest and wye valley. You can come and go on your own timetable.
Christopher from Dumfriesshire (14 July 2017)

Lovely location, great facilities, clean lodge what more could you ask for!
Cheryl from Wantage (14 July 2017)

Have been several times lovely location and lodge. I always find the bed too hard and come back with back ache. The only thing that would improve the site is a swimming pool and sauna etc.
Joanne from Bilston (10 July 2017)

It was the perfect getaway! we had everything we needed at the lodge.
David from Cholsey (07 July 2017)

Cabin was stunning. Well equipped. Very clean and tidy. Staff friendly and very helpful. Hot tub amazing. We all had an awesome time.
Julie from Penarth (30 June 2017)

Location changed on day. Cabin had clearly not been cleaned or restocked. Bed bugs in beds. All members of party bitten.
Lauren from Burton-Upon-Trent (26 June 2017)

Accommodation was very good. Didn't like the fact that we were overlooked bed the lodge next door. staff very helpful. bicycle hire is too expensive. . . enjoyed the lovely countryside. absolutely beautiful.
Inderjit (22 May 2017)

Great weekend, beautiful place
Rebecca from Birmingham (22 May 2017)

What a wounderfull area and the cabin felt like luxury !! plenty of room, very clean and tidy.
Dyfed (12 May 2017)

Fell in love with the place and didn't want to go home. Highly recommended from me.
Thomas from Norton (12 May 2017)

Love the area we have been different parts of the year and enjoy all times! have stopped in other places ed as well!!
Charles from Tiverton (12 May 2017)

The lodge was stunning. We stayed in the meadow and had a lovely week away.
Amanda (05 May 2017)

Amazing and looking to book again
Christine from Bristol (01 May 2017)

Love everything about forest holidays especially the forest of dean would definitely come again it's just a shame it's so expensive in school holidays
Nicola from Manchester (28 April 2017)

We went at the most expensive time of the year, we was party of 5 and needed to pay for 3 robes and slippers as you only 2 regardless of your party size, appliances where not secured and the oven tiled forward on opening and the door would stay open so it was a 2 man job to get things out of the oven. . . tea coffee and sugar would have been nice as welcome item. . the price of groceries in the little shop was 4 times the cost. So use the local coop or tesco in the town. . however the place was clean and the hot tub was great.
Chris from Coalville (14 April 2017)

The lodge was beyond expectations and the staff were fantastic
Maria from Merseyside (10 April 2017)

Beautiful location loved waking up to the sound of birds and sight of the forest lovely spacious lodges and hot tub was amazing!! would definitely stay again
Clare from Somerset (07 April 2017)

We had a great time!!
Caroline from Evesham (03 April 2017)

Absolutely loved it. Luxurious, comfortable accommodation, we were surprised at how private and not overlooked the lodges were. Very peaceful. Stunning setting, lovely walks right on our doorstep.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (31 March 2017)

Would definitely visit again.
Mandy from Reading (27 March 2017)

We have stayed here before but sadly the same quality as previous stays has not been maintained. We were overlooked from every angle which came as a shock and the bath robes we paid for were all screwed up and felt rough. The placemats were over used and filthy. They did promptly swap these but it tainted the start of the holiday and being overlooked so much did make us feel like we were not in a forest but more like in an estate. It would make me think twice in the future. We had a nice week but less so than previous visits :-(
Geraldine from Telford (24 February 2017)

Second holiday to forest of dean lodges. so relaxing and pleasant place to stay. cabin lovely and hot tub so much fun. our dog was in heaven having lots of lovely long walks in the woods. enjoyed the cafe and shop. staff lovely.
Sharon from Cardiff (24 February 2017)

Very enjoyable stay
Andrew from Ebbw Vale (03 February 2017)

A lovely log cabin in beautiful surroundings. the cabin had everything that we needed with the added bonus of a fabulous hot tub. the underfloor heating was a real bonus. I would definitely recommend these log cabins.
Julie (20 January 2017)

Brilliant....so good we did not want to come home and will be coming back
Neil from Bidford On Avon (20 January 2017)

A great chill out place, staff lovely, just far too pricey for what it is esp at new year :-( n all the difference is you get a new year goodie bag, lovely but not worth the huge difference in price but still had a fabulous time and would go again
Paula from Stockton On Tees (02 January 2017)

Thought the location was amazing as were the standards of the cabin. Staff were very helpful too. I did think that a few strategicly placed willow screens could have helped us not to be overlooked by other people when we were all out ob our varanders but it was overall a brilliant place to spend a long weekend. Many thanks.
Paul from Warwickshire (26 September 2016)

This is a great place to relax and great for dog walking
Michele from Exeter (16 September 2016)

Lovely setting. Good sized holiday house. A few little things such as wifi, ice cube trays, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets would have made it more welcoming. The woods surrounding the house could have done with a littler pick.
Hilary (02 September 2016)

Great location for the forest of dean for walking or cycling.
Brian from Burnley (02 September 2016)

Shame no swimming pool!
Shane from Bristol (29 August 2016)

Unsatisfactory welcome pack. Towels not provided though included. Dirty patio area. Hot tub absolutely boiling and unusable ( we have our own and know reasonable temperature). too many extras not included. Hardly secluded. Very expensive. Staff drove around park too fast.
Jennifer from Dorchester (15 August 2016)

Really good experience. Cabins were gorgeous, clean & well equipped. Hot tub was fab. Surroundings were beautiful. Only niggle was that we struggled to operate the cooker properly but the staff were very helpful & tried to help. Would love to visit again, thank you
Joanne from Halesowen (12 August 2016)

Had an amazing stay here! we stayed in a golden oak 3 lodge. Great living space, only tiny niggles are that there isn't anywhere to hang/dry towels, no oven gloves in the kitchen and the bed in the master bedroom was a bit old and worn out. . the hot tub was simply fab! the surroundings of the forest were just beautiful, very peaceful and quiet. Not overlooked by any of the other cabins, ideal location. Would definitely stay again!
Katie from Oxford (08 August 2016)

Lovely forest, lovely cabin. Great shop/cafe on site. Was given the impression wifi was included but had to pay £40 to activate it. Along with the summer holiday huge price increase it was a costly break. Other than that good holiday.
Laura (05 August 2016)

Weekend away for a group of friends and partners in their 20s. Had a really good time, nice chilled weekend and made full use of the hot tub. Only downside was the tv remote was unresponsive and after reporting this twice no one ever arrived to have a look at it. Went to the near by symonds yat which was nice and picturesque. Lodge was much bigger and spacious than expect from the pictures and was finished well. The cleaners even set the scrabble board up to say welcome, which was a nice touch. Would definitely go back for a chilled weekend.
Charlotte from Aldridge (01 August 2016)

We had to ask for maintenance to the en suite shower 3 times and ask for extra oven ware twice other than this issue we had a fantastic holiday in a lovely cabin in the forest.
Angie from Chesterfield (01 August 2016)

We had a great holiday and would probably go again, although it was quite expensive. There were also issues that we had rats living under our decking which put off our children from going on the decking and also the decking simply broke under my wife's foot, leaving her with a twisted and slightly sprained ankle.
Louis from London (29 July 2016)

We stayed in the copper beech 3. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Didn't really see much of staff but from what encounters we did have with them, they were polite. Facilities limited and pricey but we went to a local supermarket and catered from our lodge as it was so well equipped.
Joanne from Bude (29 July 2016)

Wonderful relaxing holiday, however not many facilities for young ones/toddlers. Had to drive distances to entertain them. I however along with my partner loved the area, hot tub amazing, and lodge totally homely and welcoming. Staff very friendly and tentative to needs. Will definitely come back, when younger one is older.
Kate from Porthcawl (25 July 2016)

Loved it! simple.
Sarah from Oxford (22 July 2016)

We were a group of 5 in a 3 bedroomed lodge. the bedrooms were comfortable. the kitchen was quite small with a very small fridge for 6 people's food. and only one shelf in the oven which was a bit of problem. disappointing that you have to pay extra for wifi and mobile signal was very patchy. nice forest.
Judith from Solilhull (18 July 2016)

Missing kids amenities, small playground
Alvaro from Wigan (15 July 2016)

Great weekend lodges very clean and well equipped
Tina (11 July 2016)

Excellent site, surroundings and facilities. would highly recommend.
Jane from Lowestoft (11 July 2016)

Beautiful lodge in an amazing setting, great family weekend in a spacious house .
Alan from Darlington (20 June 2016)

Very peaceful. Friendly staff. Very refreshing holiday, we took the dog and she had a welcome treat on arrival. Loads to do and would go back again.
Samantha from Marlow (13 June 2016)

Location perfect and we did enjoy our stay. My only gripe is that the lodge wasn't that clean and several things within were broken (shower door, mirror lights, bbq). I do appreciate that due to the type of location it will reflect in struggling to have clean floors but it was other aspects of the place that needed a more thorough clean. Door handles were sticky, some mould in the bathroom. . don't mean to pick holes as we did enjoy ourselves but from having stayed in many holiday rentals throughout the uk my opinion is formed from relatively normal expectations.

Amazing destination- in amounts nature with the convenience of the mod cons (dishwasher!). what a great, relaxing holiday xxx
