We absolutely loved our hot tub cabin (the oaks) very private away from the other lodges as it was the hot tub side, great area at the bottom of lake consiton so only a 15 minute drive into coniston town centre for pubs, the museum and things to do
Sarah from Nottingham (03 September 2018)

Only downside was no shop close by. But otherwise perfect.
Susanna from Basildon (31 August 2018)

Very lovley and relaxed. Enjoyed our stay immensely.
Harrison (31 August 2018)

Having booked top of the range I was just slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the wcs, just not to my standard of hygiene. It’s what my husband called country clean.. other than that ,,,,, perfect and would highly recommend and definitely return.
Michelle from Essex (31 August 2018)

The only thing I could fault them with, they could do with a tumble dryer on site or in the lodges. It was hard to get the towels dry enough for the next time we went in hot tub. The lodge was in very quiet grounds which was what we wanted, time to relax in the peace and quiet of the country side. Lovely break.
Susanne (24 August 2018)

The chalet on the surface looked reasonable but it was ill equipped lots of crockery missing and tools were sub standard ,the sofa was broken and very uncomfortable , the seating was inadequate for four adults , the storage in the kitchen area would benefit from a joiner ! more hooks would help as in other chalets! this was a classic case of too much frippery (cushions!) and not enough care that people have to eat sleep and live for a week or two and the least they can expect is comfort and the means to be comfortable if the weather is inclement! the tv is far too high for comfortable viewing even if it does look trendy!
Evene from Skidby (20 August 2018)

Lovely location, accommodation and staff. We had children so could have done with a play area. But this was not a problem.
Kevin (20 August 2018)

We had a fabulous few days and the accommodation was perfect. All our needs were catered for in the lodge and the location so close to the lake was amazing. A lovely quiet site whcih was ideal for us and we had a lovely relaxing time. The site is within easy travelling distance to so many attractions and we were spoilt for choice! thank you.
Jane from Doncaster (17 August 2018)

Brilliant mini break as a family :)
Leanne from North Yorkshire (17 August 2018)

Enjoy all of it with no problems.
Gillian (10 August 2018)

Such a peaceful and relaxing time . which is what we wanted . the cabin ( bluebird 4 ) was clean well equiped and a great standard .
Claire from Wirral (10 August 2018)

Dirty toaster kettle fridge and cooker. No egg cups. Settee broken on arrival. Lodge to close to roadway in park and too close to each other. Seen a man when first arrived who shouted key in the door abd didn't see anyone else r all. No reception at park.
Andre from Sunderland (06 August 2018)

Very quiet.plenty of space for walking the dog.have to cross road to get down to the lake . no shops nearby but you can order home delivery.
Keith from Leamington Spa (03 August 2018)

Absolutely gorgeous place for a relaxing holiday, really clean and the kitchen is like home from home. Wouldn't recommend to someone who doesn't want to appreciate the gorgeous surroundings of peace and tranquillity, save it for someone who does. We'll certainly be going back.
Sarah from Wakefield (30 July 2018)

Parents had a very nice time. Really loved there luxury chalet too, very modern and good price.
David from High Wycombe (27 July 2018)

Jody from Tyne And Wear (27 July 2018)

Susan from Sunderland (23 July 2018)

Great place lovely lodge very clean and quiet
Sharon from Wigan (23 July 2018)

Excellent
Iain from Maidstone (23 July 2018)

Fabulous place - slightly disappointed it wasn't on the shores of the lake though very close. Very peaceful and the lodge was absolutely gorgeous
Heather from Liverpool (23 July 2018)

The location is excellent if you have dogs, you can cross the road and walk down to coniston lake. Its also handy for seeing coniston village, hawkeshead, windermere, thirlmere, ambleside and grasmere. . its a shame the lodge balconies all face forward not much privacy when sitting there and the view would be nicer if they were turned round. . it was peaceful of an evening as it's only a small site and away from the road. . the lodge itself could have been cleaner. There were cobwebs behind internal doors and the windows inside and out needed a good clean. . . also if you like to eat in, take a small roasting tin and baking tray as in our lodge there were only pans.
Louise from Barrow Upon Humber (20 July 2018)

The oaks was situated in a picture-perfect surroundings and very peaceful , however the lodge needs some tlc . the fittings are looking rather tied , the cleaning regime needs a lift and the two garden sheds are a eye-sore.
Mark from Rotherham (20 July 2018)

Young couple mid 20’s. Found the location beautiful. Short drive to coniston or a scenic cycle. Great base camp for trips to grizedale and windermere. Loved how relaxed the site is. Very tranquil. Spent evenings relaxing under the stars in the hot tub. The cabin is beautiful and feels just like a home. Will visit again.
Thomas from Leicester (20 July 2018)

The lodge was in a lovely quiet location. just what we wanted as a 'get away from it all' break. we took our 2 small dogs with us and they loved the walks. the hot tub was lovely and we were pleased to know it was cleaned and filled with fresh water before we arrived. we stayed for 3 nights but could have easily stayed a fortnight. We loved it and have recommended it to a friend who is going to book a stay also. we would definitely go back.
Mrs A from Scarborough (16 July 2018)

Beautifully quiet and scenic site , possibly one of the smallest sites you’ll find with only about 20 lodges. Clean and comfortable lodge. We didn’t speak to any staff other than a hello to the housekeepers cleaning another lodge inbetween bookings so can’t comment on helpfulness, as we found our key in the door on arrival and left it in the door on checkout, no fuss, very easy!. the grounds are well kept and pretty and it’s a short walk to coniston water which is full of wildlife. Would definitely stay here again, thank you.
Donna from Kent (16 July 2018)

Overall a very lovely place. We had a relaxing weekend. Only downfall was there was quite a bit of dust around on radiators/in corners of rooms etc
Natalie from York (16 July 2018)

Lovely welcome from katarina ,lodge was more than we expected as it was booked for my wife,s 65 birthday would recommend to everyone we know.
Angus from Glenrothes (13 July 2018)

Hi is exelent place for rest, really quiet place, clear water in lake's. i'm back in next year's.
Ewa from Blackpool (06 July 2018)

Accommodation not well equipit with kitchen equipment inside needed decoration .
Susan from Sutton In Ashfield (29 June 2018)

Absolutely wonderful place. very quiet setting about 5 miles from coniston. nothing on the site ie shops/pool but we knew this and didn't want it. katrina and her team are marvellous. evening posting my clothing home I left. . . I will most definitely be returning too.
Tracy (25 June 2018)

What a fabulous lodge , all you could want , secluded and private hot tub a must , lodge just needed a little tlc in cleaning but overall great , definitely be going again , karina site manger was very welcoming
Susan from Leeds (25 June 2018)

The cabin was unclean and smelt musty to say it’s part of the luxury range I was very dissapointed
Joanne from Halifax (25 June 2018)

Excellent location and clean updated lodges with full facilities.
Zaheer (25 June 2018)

Great location for exploring the area and lovely surroundings in the park. . . . only saw the staff twice but seemed very friendly when met them. . I would definitely recommend staying here, will book one of the hot tub lodges next time as we did feel like we missed out on having that little luxury when we were there!
Wendy from Falkirk (22 June 2018)

Absolutely fantastic week holiday very nice staff lodge was beautiful and very clean surroundings beautiful and relaxing will definitely go back fantastic break in the lakes
Marie from Cannock (22 June 2018)

Excellent lodge in immaculate condition, great local works, the perfect base to explore the lakes
Mark from Brighouse (22 June 2018)

A lovely long weekend with the family, an idyllic setting at consiton water. Lovely lodge very clean and everything you needed, including hot tub! very well looked after by the park managers. Would highly recommend.
Sarah from Nottinghamshire (18 June 2018)

Excellent!
Jeremy from Notts (17 June 2018)

Was not impressed with standard of cleaning. Very poor from previous visits.cabin that has places to visit leaflets in was blocked up with owners personal items. So couldn’t get to them.
Catherine from Oxford (15 June 2018)

Was a beautiful place, lovely accommodation, would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet time away.
Pauline from Halifax (08 June 2018)

Very peaceful a good place to unwind. Very friendly staff.
Helen from Sheffield (04 June 2018)

We all had a wonderful weekend, however the lodge needed a more thorough clean. There were crumbs on the floor and tables, dust and cobwebs in all the corners and the glass shower door was dirty.
Lisa (03 June 2018)

Beautiful location, just a short walk from the southern shore of coniston water. Peaceful park, well maintained. Lodge was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our week here.
Jenni (01 June 2018)

Great time for all the family
Greg from Horwich (01 June 2018)

Our holiday was cut short due to my husbands illness, but it was a very quiet location, set in beautiful countryside and the house was well equipped.
Geraldine (25 May 2018)

Overall it was a great experience didn't see much of the staff however everything that we needed was there with the exception of bed sheets duvet covers for single beds.
John from Paisley (25 May 2018)

Very enjoyable break in quiet secluded surroundings
Elizabeth (18 May 2018)

Overall good
Amy (18 May 2018)

Spotlessly clean, well equipped lodge in peaceful beautiful surroundings.
Lynn from Liverpool (18 May 2018)

Lovely place to stay, very comfortable
Angela from Southsea (14 May 2018)

Like others have said the bluebird lodges are smaller to some luxury lodges and are squeezed in, having said that the lodge was lovely and area quiet and hot tub was lovely it was clean and had most things, but again perhaps a dishwasher instead of washing machine would be better. we had a nice short break and would return in the future

This is a very peaceful and relaxing park and the standard of accommodation was high with lovely furnishings. Good walks from the park but you definitely need wellies or good walking boots! the lodges are a bit crammed in but not too much of an issue.

Stayed the week before easter in the oaks lodge, in my opinion the best situated lodge on the site with it's own parking space and private veranda which looked onto open grassland with a couple of regular visiting sheep and good private hot tub. This is a very quiet rural site so need to take your groceries with you which we always do [who wants to go shopping while on holiday] we intend to return and do a bit more walking and exploring the local area around coniston water when it's better weather.

Can't comment on the helpfulness of the staff as we didn't need to ask them for anything. The lodge was lovely, comfortable & clean, well equipped. Thought it was a bit cheeky leaving a note asking guests to strip the beds before they leave !
Debra from Glasgow (30 March 2018)

Ideal location for exploring the lakes. Lodge was too small for our needs, okay for a short break though.
Debra from Norfolk (30 March 2018)

Excellent value. Warm welcome from friendly staff. very clean cabin. You are at the base of coniston away from all the bustle but close enough to get anywhere in the lakes. The night sky is spectacular. lovely place to stay

Lovely lodge and nice and quiet. Two points that need addressing being a hotel manager I know when a mattress needs replacing and the main bed does need changing . also shower temperature is fine but wash basin and kitchen water temp in to low as you need to boil the kettle a couple of times to wash up .

We had an amazing time at crake valley. I have stayed in many lodges with hot tubs and I would rate this as one of my favourites. The lodge its self is very modern/comfy/cosy, extremely spacious and well equipt, with everything you need. The location is beautiful. The only criticisms would be that the hot tub was slightly small and it was a bit of a squeeze with the three of us however it was still amazing to relax after a long day of hiking. Also, it would have been nice to have a few tea bags/coffee sachets on arrival. . I would 100% recommend this lodge and would definantly be returning.

The lodge was clean but there was not enough space in the kitchen for food preparation. The sofa in the lounge was completely broken on either side and was extremely uncomfortable so much so we had to use all the spare cushions from the bedrooms to sit on. I did think that the accommodation is compromised for being dog friendly and we stayed in thanet well last year and the dog friendly lodge was absolutely superb. We did this break at crake valley on the spur of the moment so it was a good price but I would have been even more dissappointed if we had paid any more than we did for what we got.

Site was in a good location to the south of coniston water quite remote, no walk to pubs, we felt the lodge was a little small but thats just us and they were very close together, you are looking into someone lodge through most windows, but overall a nice site. Site staff were great shame I could not say that for the site owner who we had the unfortunate experience of meeting on our departure.

Crake vally is situated in a lovely part of the lake district. . the lodge my family stayed in was ok. Clean and fairly comfortable with good parking and I nice place to relax. . however, the wifi is useless, in fact I would say don’t advertise something that does work. And while the lodges are nice if they don’t keep on top of them they will look shabby very quickly. . also some small touches would make a big difference, like having a place to hang a towel after using it and also some kind of gold away clothes rack also. And perhaps an extractor fan that actually extracts in the bathroom which would stop the damp smell. . . on the whole though it is a lovely place to stay, nothing fundamentally wrong with the location and the price was very good. I would stay again.

We had an amazing stay at crake valley the cabin was clean and cosy and its only a stones throw from lake coniston :) the only down fall was the check in and check out times as we had to get there for 4pm for check in which is abit late as we check out a 10 am even though we were left a note to strip dirty linen off beds and clean and put away the dishes which makes me wonder as to what the cleaners actually do in 6 hours :/ its abit expensive on that part as your missing out on part of your holiday. Other then that the place was lovely and quiet which made for a relaxing stay.
Gemma from Sunderland (27 October 2017)

Fabulous holiday. I do t want to joan because we had a great time and loved the site and cabin but...cleanliness wasn't the best. On the last night while I was packing I dropped something behind the bedside cabinets, wow! it really was bad, very thick with dust and dreadful mould on the skirting board. Also, 2 heaters didn't work making my baby's room rather cold on a night. Everything else was fab including the amazingly equipped kitchen. We have already recommended to family and friends.
Annabel from Newcastle Upon Tyne (27 October 2017)

We had a lovely time and was glad to be able to cook and chill in the lodge. It was october half term after all. we loved being able to wake up and see so much wildlife around us. Mainly birds but also sheep came to visit. being able to do a short walk up the hill to see the amazing view of lake coniston below is a must. and other places are just a short drive away. would love to stay again
Alison from Wokingham (27 October 2017)

Nice small site , not too far off the beaten track , great if u want a breakthrough from everything , lovely views from hill behind-the-scenes lodges. . possibly too many lodges in small space , hardly room for car at lodge 10 .. probably won't return but enjoyed and would recommend
Iain from Stranraer (16 October 2017)

Great
Kevin from Manchester (16 October 2017)

Nice holiday home but only for two people really. Seating in the lounge was limited if there are more than 3 of you.
Stephen (16 October 2017)

There were little things that make the chalet a 7 instead of 10. hooks to hang tea towels on - coasters - mini floor mop essential for dogs in lake district. Not enough coat hangers - soap shelf in shower unit - bread bin and finally pictures or photos on the wall. Small things but these would make it feel more homely.

Janet from Bristol (13 October 2017)

Lovely place, cabin was very warm so that was nice. Could have done with a hand towel in the bathroom. just a bit out of the way and had to drive a lot which we were hoping not to. But otherwise quite and peaceful location.

A really beautiful place to stay and the hot tub was great. It wasn't very push chair friendly so we had to drive to places that were suitable. I would still recommend this place.
Emma from Sheffield (09 October 2017)

Well-appointed cabin which was comfortable and in good location. Beautiful area with plenty of things to do nearby. Would recommend
