Beautiful lodge was clean and tidy, furniture in good condition good fridge and drinks cooler. Lack of utensils in the kitchen for cooking and eating . could do with finishing touches like toiletries and cleaning materials like washing up liquid and cloth in the kitchen we only ate breakfast and had a bbq which was good but 6 of us had to share 5 knives and forks it was manageable but small checks like this by the staff would mean you don't have the inconvenience . a bottle of wine in the cooler was a nice touch but we would have rather had toiletries and cleaning equipment . overall the lodge was good value and close to where we wanted to be hot tub did not have chemical checks done as we have had in other places and as it foamed up before we got in I felt it was not cleaned properly from previous clients . would I go back . . sadly no . they just lack those little finishes you get elsewhere for the same cost
Terence from Cleethorpes (03 September 2018)

Hi really enjoyed it, but music off other people was really loud on the nighttime. Think there should be time it’s aloud onto.
Kerry from Lichfield (03 September 2018)

Our biggest problem with the accommodation was that although the lodge (caravan) was brand new it was incredibly flimsy in construction with paper thin walls and creaky floors. The kitchen was fabulous but I think the money would’ve been better spent on the bedrooms, which were tiny, incredibly noisy and the single beds were not really big enough for adults. I did not sleep at all during my stay so did not feel at all rested following our break. I’ve also never stayed in a lodge that doesn’t even supply soap in the bathrooms. The van was poorly equipped with only 1 towel per person (for 5 days!), not enough crockery for 6 people, not enough toilet paper, no washing up liquid, etc. Also the only place we’ve stayed that didn’t have wifi. The rest of the park was a building site and was noisy/ untidy. Shame, the people were lovely.
Sophie from Solihull (31 August 2018)

Had a lovely time staff was lovely lovely bottle of wine chilled and waiting in fridge highly recommend 5 stars all round
Karl from Great Yarmouth (31 August 2018)

Colliery lane lodges are a perfect break if you want time to relax! we stayed monday to friday, family of 6. We spent the first few days fishing on site and did wander around the village to the local shop and pub. Everywhere everyone is friendly. Burton on trent was very close in distance and we also visited conkers and twycross zoo!. the cabin was immaculate. We all loved being there and it was sad to leave!! . hot tub was easy to use too!! kitchen was lovely and beds were comfortable! . staff were brilliant and answered and questions we had!! . we will definitely be returning and we can’t wait!!
Chantel from Northants (24 August 2018)

Very helpful and friendly staff.nice clean lodge overlooking the lake.loved the hot tub.good base with plenty to do in the area. a++++
Andrew from Norton (24 August 2018)

Brilliant place to stay - family friendly and fantastic hot tub!
Louise (20 August 2018)

Lovely quite location. lodges are excellent. clean and well maintained.
Jitinder (17 August 2018)

Lovely lodge which was decorated nicely. Very clean and kept well. Comfortable beds with a great hot tub. Would definitely recommend !
Emily (13 August 2018)

This is a fairly new and upcoming site. no real entertainment facilities on site so perfect for a totally relaxed chilled get away. there is no wifi and the kitchen needs to have more plates and cutlery in etc, only 5 dinner plates for a 6 person lodge. we were impressed with the size of and space in the lodge. also thank you for the complimentary bottle of chilled wine. there were a lot of flies around (annoying) as you are opposite a fishing pond. . hot tub: not all of the jets and lights were working. we did mention this and were told only one side of the jets come on at a time? however one side of the jets didn't work at all. the hot tub is maintained around 10am everyday and is ready for use when you arrive. . . overall we enjoyed our stay but feel that it is slightly overpriced compared to other locations with more facilities on-site
Confirmed Holidaymaker (13 August 2018)

We had a great relaxing holiday in your lodges. They were spotless and well equipped. Will definitely be back
Elaine from Airdrie (10 August 2018)

We went mon/fri, party of 6 it included 2 children 4 and 2. The lodges was beautiful very spacious and had everything you needed the hot tub was a bonus and well kept.we loved our week there.they are in middle of extending the park so there was building work but that didn't spoil our stay, the people attending to the lodges were so lovely and helpful.would definitely go again.
Susan from Oldham (10 August 2018)

We spent a fantastic 2 weeks here and can't fault any aspect of our stay. We received a genuine warm welcome. When we opened the door to the lodge every inch exceeded our expectations. A washer/dryer was a godsend be a use our length of stay. A big american style fridge freezer with a great addition of a separate under counter wine cooler. The lodge was very well appointed a comfortable home for our stay. The weather was scorching hot and the hot tub was a fantastic way to relieve that (we knocked the temperature down a few). loads of great places to visit. For kids there are 3 theme parks within an ours ride. Lots of great market towns locally too. 2 supermarkets within a 15 min drive. We would stay again in a heart beat and would not hesitate to recommend colliery lane lodges to everyone.
Andrew from Bradford (06 August 2018)

Had a lovely time.
Jessica (06 August 2018)

Lovely clean lodges - staff very friendly and helpful / hot tub clean and a fab addition to the lodge
Deborah from Milton Keynes (06 August 2018)

Very friendly welcome, very helpful staff. Very comfortable and clean accommodation, well spaced. Quite small children activity area. Close to local children's activities, especially conkers and forest centre.
Angela from York (03 August 2018)

Very clean and great lodges staff very helpful and we really enjoyed our week there plenty to do in the surrounding area . we will definitely stay again
Steven from Hull (03 August 2018)

Fabulous lodge. Very spacious and new. Hot tub wonderful apart from being under a tree so leaves twigs etc. Constantly falling and making it look murky. Very helpful onsite staff who seemed to always be available and happy to help. Could just do with a few little extras in cupboards ie. Egg cups, corkscrew etc. Lovely little site would love to return when it is finished.
Deborah (30 July 2018)

Lodge was very clean and plenty of space for 5 of us. Lovely location and jodie was so helpful. Bottle of wine in the fridge for us which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and we will be going again.
Michelle from Wednesbury (23 July 2018)

Fiona from Glenrothes (20 July 2018)

Jennifer (09 July 2018)

Brilliant place to meet up with family for a special weekend.we had 3 lodges out of 4 in the row.everything we needed.big fridge and wine cooler.great bedding..plenty of space for 18 of us..hot tub and fishing on sight was the cream on the top! jodie couldn't have been more helpful.my new best friend! they are laying bases for more units in an adjoining area which didn't bother us as it was weekend..i'm sure when they are finished they will be superb.
Sandra from Llanidloes (25 June 2018)

Great lodge big in size, great fishing. Lodge was spacious and comfortable, with everything to could need, the hot tub was great. Couldn't fault it, hard to beat for value having stayed at others before, this was the best I have stayed in.
Richard from Swadlincote (18 June 2018)

Once again another great relaxing weekend, we will be back in november xx
Jackie (18 June 2018)

The lodge was very well equipped and clean and tidy when we arrived
Linda from Bristol (15 June 2018)

We was telephoned earlier on in the day to say our lodge was ready and we could check in. that was a real help considering we wanted to surprise our 40 year old niece with decorations. the lodge was clean, home from home, thoroughly it.
Tracey from Birmingham (11 June 2018)

Excellent place. People on site at so helpful and available if you need them.
Laura from Nuneaton (11 June 2018)

Gorgeous lodge in quiet area, they are expanding the site but we had no disruptions. The cleanliness was outstanding and the facilities brilliant. The bottle of fizz was a lovely touch. We will definitely return!
Michelle (04 June 2018)

Had a lovely weekend here the lodge and hot tub were fab just missing enough cutlery for our party and not much to do in the local area. Staff were fantastic!
Rebekah from Boston (01 June 2018)

Absolutely fantastic holiday lodge was beautiful and in such a peaceful location
Tracy from Grimsby (01 June 2018)

Our family of five stayed at colliery lane lodges for a long bank holiday weekend and it was lovely. The lodges and hot tubs are new and spotless and there's plenty of room, with a brand new and well equipped kitchen, spotless bath and shower rooms, good sized bedrooms and living room, and everything that you need for a relaxing self catering break. The location is peaceful and pleasant, and there's plenty of information provided for nearby shops and restaurants. The staff are really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
Michelle from Leicester (28 May 2018)

If you want peace and quiet then this is the place to go. Yes the site is still being developed so a little messy in parts but didn't spoil our stay. The lodge was clean and very spacious with extras I have not had in other lodges such as a slow cooker and huge fridge. We were greeted by very friendly staff and a welcome bottle of wine. Just a few more glasses would have been good rather than the odd selection available in our particular lodge. There was lots to do within 10 miles of the site so an ideal base for families.
Alison from Loughborough (28 May 2018)

Absolutely fabulous stay - staff were very welcoming and friendly allowing for a relaxed start to a lovely weekend away. The lodge is really nicely set up and the hot tub was amazing. Heated so we could step in from the moment we arrived!
Katherine (28 May 2018)

Had a fabulous long weekend, staff very helpful and friendly. Site is clean and tidy, with great fishing pool. Lodge was outstanding, very spacious and of a high standard, hot tub was maintained daily to check the levels. . we are returning again later in the year!!
Julie from Wolverhampton (28 May 2018)

Amazing, clean lodges! awesome for a little break away!
Beth from Doncaster (25 May 2018)

Even though still some parts are in the building stage, being a disabled person the disabled lodge was amazing it was so nice have a disabled wet room. we had an awsome break it was quiet and lots of things to do around and about. shame pets are not allowed,.
Brian (25 May 2018)

Even though staff are still working on the site still a nice area. Lovely woodland walks around the area . lodge its self was brand new and staff had left a bottle of wine as a welcome gift . tea and coffee is also provided . . swadlincote has morrisonson and asda so shopping is easy . conkers is also not far for the kids . . we did have some disrepectful guests on the site but staff dealt with them and moved them on
Ian from Nottingham (21 May 2018)

Lovely lodge. Great weekend with the family. Well worth it with the hot tub, bbq and trampoline also other activities too. Would defiantly recommend.
Sameena from West Midlands (14 May 2018)

We had a small problem with the hot tub which was corrected as soon as the lodge itself was spotless and new and would definitely recommend it to anyone
Yvonne from Wakefield (30 April 2018)

Lovely place well situated, hot tub really nice.fishing lake well stocked.
Tracy from Durham (23 April 2018)

Absolutely fantastic place to stay and relax, really helpful staff. The lodge was top notch and top spec with everything you would need including a nice bottle of wine in the wine fridge. Would recommend to anyone who likes to relax in a hot tub
Jason from Birmingham (23 April 2018)

Lovely lodge and hot tub, practically brand new. Unfortunately right in the middle of a building site where they are extending the park. (i was not warned about this before I went, nor was there a discount for it). I was also next door to a hen party when I had gone for a quiet weekend with 2 toddlers. Not a great weekend. Site staff were lovely and helpful.
Jane from Haywards Heath (16 April 2018)

Fab location for our girly weekend away

Overall, this was a comfortable stay - it’s probably one of only a few times i’ve been away and not left with back ache from awful mattresses! the location is handy if you wish to travel a short distance to some good attractions. The actual lodge looks amazing when you first step in but on closer inspection, it does need a good deep clean and maintenance work to be done such as fixing blinds which fall down when trying to open them. The hair dryer virtually blew up in my hand and the shower head broke off of the wall. When this was reported, we were told it would be fixed but no one ever returned. The hot tub is ok but again, shows signs of age and jets aren’t all that powerful. The 3 bed lodges overlook a pleasant lake but it is somewhat a building site at the moment and you look straight into a bungalow and unsightly portacabin type reception area on the other side across from the lake. The lodge is fairly well equipped but could do with having some wifi. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Had a good short break. Location was great for us as was catching up with friends and family in area. liked the space between lodges, keeps a level of privacy. We visited after a period of torrential rain so didn't necessarily see it at its best but would be happy to return. We all enjoyed the hot tub. a couple of very minor issues were dealt with promptly when we reported them on first day.
Darren from Connahs Quay (06 April 2018)

Beautiful lodge could have been cleaned better but had loads of clean towels and a lovely bottle of wine chilling for us. I did feel that the water in the hot tub wasn’t as clean as others we have stopped in as when we was using it a debris kept appearing on the surface of water, also the lid of hot tub was hard to remove.

Very good stay at colliery lane lodges, lodge was well equipped and was nice and modern. Kitchen well equipped, really big american fridge, tv with dvd player, plenty of space. Staff very friendly and helpful and left us to enjoy the lodge. Hot tub was lovely and warm as soon as we got there. Only downside was that there was no wifi, but not a major issue and perhaps could do with a bit more optional lighting on the decking. Play area for children, although we didnt use this we thought it was a nice addition. Overall a fantastic stay.

Amazing lodge state of the art facilities inside, but they need to sack their cleaner! I had to clean the fridge before I filled it! the pans wer very old and vile even just to look at! so we ate out normally id always cook! iv a 9month old daughter so I was happy to see no shoes wer allowed in the lodge but what let it down was when I moved the coffee table to make more space for our girl to crawl the carpet was full of rubbish and crumbs more rubbish and crumbs wer found under the chair cushions and sofas so we needed to get the hoover out before we even started our holiday!

Jackie from Nottingham (06 November 2017)

This is the 2nd time that we have visited these lodges and although I would visit again there were a few disappointing areas . 2 light bulbs out in the kitchen , 1 bulb missing in the lounge area , decking lights not working , jet covers missing on hot tub ( saw that someone had thrown them down the back ! ) wine cooler not working ( owner was aware and awaiting a spare part) and the previous occupants left pans full of grease in the oven , food was left in both the cupboards and the freezer and I had to was all dishes before use as they too were coated in grease . a more thorough maintenance / cleaning check is needed after each party leaves as it's such a shame how some people leave the property for the next visitors

Amazing lodges, hot tub was beautiful, had a lovely weekend. Would definitely return.
Rebecca from Rotherham (06 November 2017)

Lodge was nice, bit too close to the reception and kids play area , hairs in bed and on plates , nice place to relax but nothing around there, need a 10/15 minute drive to find a pub , nothing on site

Julie from Hertfordshire (30 October 2017)

The lodge was lovely and generally good standard. The linen could have been better quality and a few dish washer tablets would have helped.

The lodges were lovely, and we'll equipped. I did not need any staff assistance but they were easily contactable on site. . . hot tub is amazing. I like the touch of the barbeque if you had the weather to use it. only criticism is you do have to drive out to places but we found a retail park nearby for a pub and we even went to the cinema. tropical bird land is also a nice place to spend an hour. my only critic was some of the leaflets in lodge were out of date for 2016.
Amanda from Walsall (13 October 2017)

The lodge was fantastic everything you needed was there.only problem was the hottub you had to keep filling up the hottub every other day as it was a low level hottub as the water kept going over the side as the hottub is not level.

Although a couple of the jet covers were broken on arrival it did not affect our stay. The size was perfect and the lodge was modern and spacious. Would return again.

Excellent, well equipped lodge. Very clean althoug food left in freezer from previous occupants! hot tub a definate added bonus & complimentary bottle of wine a very thoughtful touch. The location/setting a little misleading in the brochure, not as secluded as led to believe but nevertheless we had a lovely relaxing break and have no hesitation in recommending !

I booked a surprise holiday for my husband's 60th birthday. initially I didn't realise that swadlincote was south derbyshire so was a little concerned where we could walk each day - we book walking holidays every year as we both love walking. . . I cannot fault the accommodation it was very clean and tidy upon our arrival; nice and warm (it was quite chilly when we arrived so the heating had been put on low so there was a nice warmth throughout the cabin); a chilled bottle of wine had been left for us in the wine chiller and complimentary tea, coffee and milk. the cabins were very private and so quiet, what a lovey area to come for a holiday. . the kitchen was lovely but the reason why I have scored the accommodation a 9 and not a 10 is because I found that there were not enough oven dishes i.e. There were two very large oblong oven dishes and one small one, an incredibly large frying pan and one very small one, there were only 2 of us staying in the cabin and I still had to go out and buy another oven dish so that I had enough to cook with. . another thing i'd like to mention is there were no instructions on how to use the microwave, all I could do was press the start button as I didn't know how to use the different power levels, there were also no instructions for the dishwasher (it took us a couple of days or so before we knew exactly how to use it). I think it would be a good idea to place the instructions for all appliances in the folder that was left by the mantelpiece. . I didn't know how to use the washing machine and couldn't find the instructions so I rang the phone number provided and they happily came to see me. whilst he was there he located the instructions for the washing machine on top of the cupboard. . I wouldn't hesitate staying at these cabins again, they are beautiful and I could easily live in one of them as they are very spacious and have everything you need i.e. Two showers, one bath and two toilets. I would highly recommend these cabins to anyone thinking of a holiday in derbyshire.

Spotless lodge, well equipped, very spacious, wifi would of been nice just to find places to visit. Hot tub was great and play equipment for the kids, loads of footballs, goal posts, climbing frames ,trampoline and basketball hoop

I had a lovely stay at colliers land lodges, the lodge it'self was all I needed 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a massive kitchen with everything I needed including a bottle of wine in the cooler, which I thought was a nice touch. The lodge was clean throughout, but the downside was the hot tub outside wasn't in my opinion not very clean, also not all of the jets were working either, when the hot tub was going, there was a lot of foam settling on the top of the waterwhich I had to keep chucking it out with my hands. I did read some reviews from previous visitors saying similar things about the hot tub also. I have a lot of experience of hot tubs and my guess is the one I used has seen better days, or at lease needs some maintenance to bring it up to a better level, and a damn good clean.
Tony from Oxted (22 September 2017)

Went with some friends for rest and relaxation, very good, hot tub needs a bit improving a few jets broken, thought it may have been checked for chlorine and cleaning at some point in the week we were there, tea bags and bits and pieces left were very helpful, the wine a nice surprise, a corkscrew that works would have been better!!! clean and tidy, a small table on the decking by the hot tub would have been useful but overall good.

Nice lodge but short on equipment in the kitchen - no teapot, only 5 cups, no chopping boards etc
