Caravan was lovely for a bronze caravan. Although the fire alarm in the caravan woke us up the first few mornings for no reason.the food on site was aabsulotely ridiculous price! ordered a full english breakfast for 6 pound something and all it had was, egg, bacon, sausage and beans! tiny portions to! the evening food was nice but very overpriced. anyone booking the caravan for a nice cheap break away. Don't it works out so expensive. The swimming pool was always shut early or not even open. Nothing to do on site unless you went to the club house in the evening to play bingo. However the staff are absulotely lovely and the surrounding areas are very beautiful but the site is very dissapointing. If you stay here make sure you got lots to do and shopping to make your own food as the restraunt prices are not affordable ! caravan was nice and clean.
Natasha (07 October 2016)

The site was ove rcrowded with residential caravans, parking was of a premium and sometimes hard to get close to accommodation. although we booked a three bedroom caravan we were given a two, in itself not a problem but not a good start. . this does mean we can't score the next step!
David from Royston (24 September 2016)

I would say coghurst hall is almost perfect for very young children, we have a 15 month old who thoroughly enjoyed it. A small swing park, a lake and a pool shallow enough at one end for him to sit in and splash around un-aided. A lovely little toddler play time at 10am in the main bar area with a small bouncy castle and ball pit. Very happy, chatty staff. Good choice of food and drink in the bar area. We had a gold plus caravan which was clean, a good size and in a good location only 5mins from the club house. There are a few niggly negatives but none of which had an impact on our break as a whole. The pool could be a touch warmer, all the outside doors were left open the times that we visited, so we could spend no longer than 20mins in there at time with a toddler. The changing areas in there desperately need updating, there needs to be a family changing area or at least more than one baby change room. There are some steep stairs in the bar/ clubhouse, which an inquisitive toddler will naturally gravitate towards, so you cant relax while they are on the dance floor as they can easily make it to the stairs in seconds. Its a 10min drive from both hastings and rye, so lots to do in the area, we visited druisillas park which is brilliant for small children. Would definitely come back!
Jade from Essex (23 September 2016)

Really lovely setting, easy distance from coastal towns. Friendly and helpful staff, just a real shame that the caravan was a let down. Stayed in the bronze 3 which was a nice size, but wasn't very clean and much in need of refurbishment
Gaynor from Lowestoft (19 September 2016)

What a picturesque setting and one of the most dog friendly sites I have ever stayed
Gareth from Porthcawl (16 September 2016)

Excellent holiday everyone was so friendly and helpful the atmosphere was great
Wayne from Filkestone (16 September 2016)

Caravan was old and a bit tired. on walking around the site was a bit shocked at the amount of cars that have been sitting there for years on their flat tyres growing moss. The laundry area wasn't very clean but not over priced. Nice setting out in the country but all a bit tired. Saying that though club house was clean staff helpful but appeared rushed off their feet, and it wasn't even the height of the season.
Debra from Sevenoaks (16 September 2016)

Was very good except for getting out & about has we did not have own transport
Dave from Stansted Mountfitche (12 August 2016)

We were disapointed, this year no more slide and jacuzzi in the swiming pool and not many gambling machines for kids.
Joakim from Le Havre (06 August 2016)

Very nice holiday
Christine from Wales (05 August 2016)

Last minute booking, good value for money
Lynda from Birmingham (05 August 2016)

Nice relaxing holiday, site was clean and facilities were of good quality
Gilbert (05 August 2016)

First time here & very pleased with location, cleanliness of caravan & staff very friendly & quick to resolve issues.
Amanda (03 June 2016)

Lovely whitsun bank holiday sunny weather and entertainment.
Paul from Bexley (30 May 2016)

Accommodation suitable for our needs. Pool facilities adequate although had stairs and no real access for disabled users or pushchairs.
Lindy (30 May 2016)

We only used as a base as we have family nearby. As a holiday base not so sure.
Frances from Fleet (27 May 2016)

I would never come back when booking the holiday I informed them that my mum was in a wheelchair and needed good access but we was given a caravan up a hill right at the back. And the caravans shower door was broken the sofa bed was broken and it was dirty
Janice (06 May 2016)

Very disappointed to arrive and find reception shut, and no bedding provided, despite being told bed would be made up. Night manager helpful and apologetic but explained that are package did not include sheets (specifically asked this question and was told it would be). we decided to book coghurst due to the swimming pool pictures- we have a 10 month old baby and felt that the heated pool would be great for us all- unfortunately this was out of order with boiler repairs for the whole of our stay meaning that we had to go out and find/pay for a local pool. Again a little disappointing. . also during the third evening of our 4 night stay there appeared to be an electrical fault with a plug socket which tripped the electricity off several times. very frustrating when trying to settle a tired baby. Overall, for the price we paid we were not expecting luxury, however, we did feel a bit let down and as a result left early, staying for 3 instead of 4 nights. Quite relieved to get back home!. we are looking to book another mid week break in september but this will not be as coghurst hall.
Mathew from Ramsgate (25 March 2016)

Worst accommodation we have ever stayed in.
Annette from Margate (02 November 2015)

Friendly smaller style park. Lovely pool and jaccuzi.
Simon from Ryde (02 November 2015)

Caravan was damp, no parking outside caravan, had to report leaking toilet twice, shop not great and tvpoor
Vicky from Ivybridge (31 October 2015)

We stayed at coghurst for a week but feel that it needed significant money investing within it. Unfortunately , the reception staff were also very demotivated and unhelpful . I wouldn't recommend this to families as I feel the pictures show what this site was like historically.
Customer 22 (30 October 2015)

The caravan that we were given was not the caravan I was let to believe when I booked,i did complain but nothing was done.the site was very dirty with litter and rubbish every where. In the caravan we had no cooker for the first day,an engineer was called and the problem was sorted for that day,the next day we had no cooking facility again, this lasted for 2days,we did complain and was given a free evening meal and breakfast for our party. We went home very disgruntleid and would not go back to cog hurst.
Freda from Kent (16 October 2015)

Nice location . caravan smelled of smoke, when we informed staff, they did nothing about it,we believed caravans were supposed to be none smoking . spoiled our week away
Lauro from Newent (12 October 2015)

We were unable to take our car next to the caravan in order to unload when we arrived which meant a lot of trips to unpack and pack and walk past 11 other caravans. At the very least we needed to be aware of this beforehand to prepare more efficiently. The car park size was inadequate for the number of vehicles needing to use it. This was exacerbated by 1 huge caravan taking up 6 car parking spaces. From this point of view we did not feel valued as customers.
Confirmed Holidaymaker (26 September 2015)

I would never recommend this place to anyone, dirty accomadionation, non existing entertainment and miserable unhelpful staff.
Justine from Kent (14 September 2015)

The caravan was comfortable enough, the staff were generaly very helpful. The location was,nt the most convenient, with the approach road being. Quite difficult, but generally our accomadation was good and served it's . perpose very well.
John from Southampton (12 September 2015)

Great park, some lights were not working so we struggled to see our way back to the caravan in the dark so we needed a torch and having mobility problems made it difficult. but all in all the park was excellent and staff were helpful.
Karen from St Albans (11 September 2015)

Karen from St Albans (11 September 2015)

Caravan was lovely, but the parking was diabolical, we were in the gardens and trying to carry suitcases uphill was a nightmare. It states that there is a fishing lake on site but it does not tell you that there are resident or caravan owners who's vans are sited around the lake with swims attached to their vans, so trying to find a swim to fish from was near on impossible, you also have to pay £8.00 a day to fish this should be included in the price of the holiday. Not overly impressed at all.

Avery nice and quiet location. My family enjoy the trip. Will go back again.
Esther from Worthing (04 September 2015)

Disappointing had to call back cleaner as there was fresh blood on door the van had not been cleaned properly fridge had to be changed no cooking pots.
Trevor from Gravesend (04 September 2015)

The site is far too crowded with the number of units with totally inadequate parking facilities making it extremely unsafe for children.

Days out were good, shame the caravan didn't meet our expectations
Tracy from Suffolk (28 August 2015)

Entertainment hall was very small there was never enough spaces for people , surroundings were lovely but didn't make up for not being able to see evening entertainment
Murrells from Bromley (24 August 2015)

Went in august had a nice stay. If you dont drive the shop shuts at 8pm and nowhere within walking distance. Hastings is only a 10min (£8) cab ride which had everything and a nice day out. The club room is small but its all you need, our little girl (aged 2) had fun and the drinks were reasonable priced. Only one place to eat so probably best to eat in caravan. Staff were very friendly and nice/helpful always helping me with the pram up stairs. Barstaff smiley which is always nice :) there are steap hills and bumpy paths so be careful and take a torch as at night going back to caravan could be dangerous where not all paths are lit.

This is the worst caravan I have ever stayed in , there was mould and muck all over !! rats running around outside the doors . upon reporting it to the staff we were told there was nowhere else for us to be moved to . the grass areas outside the caravan were scruffy and over grown . I have never been so disappointed in all my life !
Vicky from Stockton On Tees (17 August 2015)

Caravan very run down, swimming facilities not as clean as should be. Staff unorganised and only friendly to 'owners'.

Sadly the so called evening entertainment consisted of pre recorded bingo and quiz,s with no attempt by staff to get involved. The only cabaret act was on the saturday and was excellent. The children's play area was run down and dangerous and would not pass any health and safety inspection. Also due to under staffing there was over half hour waiting to use the pool. Also found due to overpopulation with caravan's there was insufficient parking this resulted in having to park some distance from caravan causing the dodging of fast moving traffic around camp. Found whole park in poorly kept condition with construction still going on .
Stephen from Shoebureyness (10 August 2015)

This is a poor poor site. I read old reviews and thought the place would have improved after reading these but it wasn't the case at all. Even though the caravan was very clean, there was a long term water leak on the toilet and the battery in the solitary smoke alarm was missing. We had no baking trays and no grill pan. After asking for a grill pan it was unsuitable for that cooker and ended up sliding out of the cooker and onto the floor because the caravan was on an angle. The fat splashed everywhere and the food on it had to be thrown away. The area around the van was full of overgrown bushes and weeds, mostly stinging nettles. The paving slabs were cracked and wobbly. The plastic water pipes under the van were situated right next to where the electricity supply came out of the ground. Parking was a problem, even with the massive amount of vehicles going against the rules and parking on the grass. Finding your way back to the van from the club is virtually impossible because there is practically no lighting around the site. It would seem the site owners rely on lighting in and on vans. We got a terrible attitude from swimming pool staff. They rushed people out for the closing time of 1800 saying we had to go cos they don't get paid after 1800. This is actually a park holidays site and the location for their head office. That plus the excellent location on the south coast should have meant that this site was first class. I would hate to see any others. This place is small yes, so should you expect a good quality because of the lack of quantity? I won't be using park holidays again. Hoseasons - this is not a good image for you.

Although we only stayed for 4 nights we were busy everyday. Good location for outings and a wonderful site with beautiful views. However a very small arcade, bar and swimming pool. Wouldn't go for any more than a week.
Kim from Old Coulsdon (07 August 2015)

Park setting was nice but they didn't have enough to do there and pool kept closing during the day for some odd reason. The amusement arcade is just about bigger than the average sitting room. however as a base to explore hastings it's fine I wouldn't stay here again but for the price we paid I don't feel hard done by.

A very small complex. Nothing around to pop out too, have to drive out. Site has the staff living on site and the kids of the staff hang out by reception. Not the best look. Last night one the teen kids living on site hit a guests kid. Not good.

Wrong key available at check in. Reception close to early . shop was a joke . swimming pool was to small and on the day we went the chlorine level was far to high and caused distress to everyone . caravan leaked like a sieve when it rained, site manager not interested

I was very disappointed to find no toilet roll. Yes you might think that's very strange to mention. But we arrived very late the friday night to find all the windows open, because a heavy storm had happened that afternoon there where wet areas and it smelt damp and not very nice. I know it was a caravan that pets could stay but it still was not pleasant. Thank fully I had brought our own bedding, as the pillows did not look good and I wouldnt be unhappy to lay my head on them. But then to find there was no toletroll upset me a lot, as it after midnight I was not over happy to go out again to purchase tollet roll. So the next day I bought tollet roll and a scented candle to make our stay a little better.

An excellent holiday, a bit smaller than most of the parks we are used to but it made up for it with the cleanliness and beauty of the lake. Only downside was the kids entertainment, which was a bit of a let down as the entertainers were not enthusiastic or welcoming.

Brilliant place to stay you can tell the groundsman work hard to keep place clean and we'll lawned. Needs more seating around park and lake would be nice. Excellent to get to and from to see local attractions.
Geraldine from Bracknell (03 July 2015)

An excellent picturesque site and well lid out. The site is a bit hilly so visitors with mobility problems would be advised to ask for a caravan at a lower level. We would certainly visit again

Pretty location with the lake but limited access due to surrounding caravans. The club house and shop in poor condition. The "swimming pool" is too small and shallow to be able to do more than a few strokes.

We were disappointed to find the swimming pool closed for water treatment on our last day. We assume this was planned and did not find any signs to indicate this was going to happen and it was not mentioned by staff when we checked in. We had day trips planned for the week and had we known the swimming pool was going to be closed we would have gone swimming earlier in the week. I would like to say that there was no linen in our caravan when we arrived and we ran out of gas in the week and both these issues were sorted promptly by staff.
Lucie from Near Yeovil (30 May 2015)

Staff were very helpful especially when my daughter was struck down with a rash from the brown tailed moth caterpillar!! we would love to go back again.

Overall we had a wonderful time. the location is such that we were able to visit lots of local areas such as hastings seafront, drusillas zoo and theme park. but when we decided to have a day at the park the swimming pool, park and bar were sufficient. I was happy with the pool but some of our group felt it could be better maintained, better changing facilities etc. could do with something more on site for the kids and we would have stayed on site more. we were in a caravan very close to the bar which did mean it was loud at night. must say the staff were very helpful when we asked for a bed guard for my 2 year old so that was a real plus. the on site shop needs a bit more too. all in all we enjoyed ourself and noting the pet facilities will ikely come back with my mum and her dog next year.

Would stay again but without my 2 young children. Not enough things for them to do, 'adventure playground' was a huge disappointment. My 2 year old couldn't climb safely on the play equipment. No safe places for kids to run around, cars speed around the site with no thought of safety. Swimming complex was ok, but lifeguards insist on very very loud music so it feels like a nightclub. Not very clean either. Caravan wasn't cleaned from previous occupiers. Beer cans under the bed and used cotton buds on floor of bedroom. Would only stay again as a base to explore local area without children.

This holiday was not worth the money we paid. The caravan was lovely however it was positioned in a location which looked like a building site with a skip full of rubbish right outside our window. The car park was always full up due to workers vans. The main walk way to the complex was very uneven and dirty.the swimming pool was so small the pool staff had to count everyone most the time to ensure it was not getting overfull. It was not how it was described in the posters around the site. There was not much option of food in the main dining room as they never re stocked after the bank holiday. We will certainly not go again while it is like this.
Clive (10 April 2015)

The large site was a good as we had hoped for, simple but clean and cared for. my two boys 6 and 2 enjoyed the fishing, play park and pool, and my husband and I enjoyed being in the quiet surroundings. it was great to be so close to hastings and its attractions, we would definitely visit again.
Louise from Surrey (10 April 2015)

A very large site with a lot of caravans. The facilities, such as the pool and the shop were far too small to cater for the number of people.

Lack of facilities, narrow road leading to coghurst hall was suitable for traffic in one direction. . the roads in coghurst hall were muddy and struggle to find parking space. not only that we were unable to park close to the caravan. The dining hall/entertainment hall far too small for the number of occupants and struggled to find seating especially as the occupants remain seated most of the day for both dining and entertainment. . the flexible diner was not good value for money as it first appeared to be, but there was no reasonable priced restaurant in the surrounding.

The caravan had not been properly cleaned and this was obvious as there was rubbish and dirty plates, which had been put back in the cupboard. . we got the holiday last minute at a very reduced price. We had booked four nights, but left after three.

Was a good holiday although me and my partner dont drive so it was very hard to get to places as their was no buses or trains near by so we had to get taxis instead. The swimming pool was good at the time but it then left me and my partner with a sickness bug afterwoods, my partner was throwing up all night after and was defo not what we ate as my partner is a vegetarian. The caravan was really nice though and the staff was very helpful

It was very cheap only £5 a night each so I can not complain we used the camp as a base. . staff were very helpful very polite and very efficient 10/10 they were great. "the pool lads" . . " the gardeners the reception" all friendly. . . . 1 ) the caravan , we asked to change it on arrival as it was at the end of a slippery downhill muddy path. ( done straight away). . 2) new van was clean very comfortable..very poor oven and microwave. Im sure they want you to eat up at the restaurant.. . 3) facilities were very small ..pool..no lockers..small changing rooms all housed in the cellar of the main house / club house..i can see huge problems if this place got busy..hard pillars in the water lots of blind spots a nightmare for parents with young kids !!. . 4) overall layout of the units / caravans was the worst example I have ever seen wedged in any where ? and most look like residential..which comes to the brochure !!. . 5) do not think the caravans on the front are the ones you will get. These are privately owned . . we booked the best caravan " gold plus 3" and it was stuck round the back jacked up on poor quality car jacks !! ( not a joke ). . this whole site does not comply with health and safety a mine field for parents .. . lake , traffic, caravans jacked up, exposed waste pipes electric wires, blind spots, traffic that drives 20+ bends every where woodland sections, mud, holes machinery, diggers, ponds,. . 6) I did score this midweek break value for money 10/10 because for our party it was. . if you are going to book for the summer the best thing would be to get the family off park to near-by winchelsea beach or camber sands fantastic beaches and coastline. . 7) on arrival there is no £25 meal voucher as you are lead to believe but the reality is just a selection of money off vouchers..and free pint/ free breakfast on thursday ?

Absolutely disgusting! mould everywhere! due to dampness we woke every morning with wet duvets and our clothes in our holdalls we're damp! we had to walk on mud to get to the caravan and we're put in the middle of staff caravans who had a party til 1 in the morning. The caravan had cigarettes outside the door! we left after the second night! caravan was more like a economy rather than gold plus! we would never go back!

I felt at home right away in this accomodation . I worried that there was no central heating but the gas fire had the place cosy in a minute. I would like to see a larger t,v, and a more substantial set of steps to enter the door but that did not spoil a thing .

Could have done with stepping stones to the caravan as it had rained heavily and it was very muddy and slippery, we had children plus a 76 year old so not that safe. Caravan itself good and the children loved it

Really nice place to stay. Only thing that let it down was the swimming pool. Changing rooms were dirty and due to showers not working in ladies I couldn't get changed as the women had taken over the men's rooms so I ended up walking back across the site soaking wet and getting changed and showered in my caravan. Fishing pool is lovely, nice club and on site shop was reasonably priced.

Great time and quite and relaxfull which what myself and wife required after working so hard. Full marks to the staff for being very pleasant, caravan pretty good as we have a dog, overall very happy.

If our caravan was a silver one. I really can't even start to think what a basic would be like.very disappointed!
Amanda from London (05 September 2014)

Coghurst holiday park was definitely a disappointment! the area was lovely and there was plenty to do in the near towns, with plenty of attractions. However the leisure facilities were awful, dirty and generally disgusting! !!
Abigail from Rowley Regis (29 August 2014)
