Lovely accommodation in comparison to similar set ups this is by far the best value for money. The lodge was so clean and accommodated all needs. Brilliant little break.
Jane from Rochester (03 September 2018)

We stayed in the beech lodge (first one on right as you drive towards the golf clubhouse).we were expecting a bit more to the lodge with it being an 'autograph' standard (main reason for booking it) but were disappointed with how basic it was. We also found the lodges were quite overlooked and close together. We arrived to a wedding reception taking place at the clubhouse and had to endure loud music and lots of cars coming and going until midnight!. we were rudely awakened the next morning by clay pigeon shooting, which did not let up all week and up until 8.30pm on wednesday!!. not quite our idea of a retreat!!. our lodge was spitting distance from the busy entrance road and got lengthy stares as every car went past (not great when you are trying to dry off from the hot tub). there was nowhere to put cosmetics in any of the bathrooms and both showers left a puddle on the floor. There were no lamps for mood lighting in the main living area where the furniture was basic and tired looking. The kitchen area was well laid out but again, small details like, nowhere to hang tea/hand towels. The crockery and cutlery had smears of food on them due to the fact the dishwasher spray arms were blocked with limescale/foodstuff. I unblocked them myself, worked perfectly after that! . a washing machine is provided but no means of drying what you wash! a clothes horse is provided but only suitable for swimming costumes as it is so small. There were no plastic cups/glasses to use whilst in the hot tub. Our hot tub did not have a cover lift. We found it really difficult to lift it on/off. We were informed by the chap who maintains them that they have got the lift device for it but have not fitted it yet (beggars belief really for the amount you are paying). unfortunately, overall not quite the retreat we were looking for at peak season prices!
Michael (18 August 2018)

A wonderful place to stay, quiet & relaxing. Very clean & staff attentive. Kids loved it & wanted to live there !!!!
Rachel from Norwich (17 August 2018)

Beautiful lodge perfect for exploring suffolk.
Lynda from Burton On Trent (04 August 2018)

The most relaxing holiday ever. We had a power cut the first night and the staff kept us updated and couldn't do enough, they opened the cafe and went out and bought us candles and torches. Lovely setting.
Debra from West Yorkshire (04 August 2018)

Very good all round, lost points as a few small general maintenance things needed attention.
Angela from Market Deeping (14 July 2018)

Lodges located on beautiful land, and even if you’re not into golf, fishing or shooting it’s worth a look as the grounds are tranquil and beautiful, it’s well located as a base for sight seeing, and the lodges themselves are gorgeous, well equipped and very comfortable - especially the hot tubs! been here three times and will be back again.
Neil from Westcliff On Sea, Essex (13 July 2018)

Very good location for visiting local coastal and inland attractions including southwold, snape maltings, walberswick, aldeburgh and framlingham. nice outlook onto the golf course with beautiful lakes and lovely to see hares and rabbits 'in the wild' and birdlife, the only downside was the noise of the clay pigeon shooting during the day and up to 9pm on wednesdays. the lodge was modern and well equipped. the nearby shop (co-op) had all the essentials. Unfortunate that the smart tv is in the double bedroom and not in the lounge area and it would be good to have a tv in both bedrooms.
Sue from Chislehurst Kent (13 July 2018)

Lovely lodge that had great facilities, hot tub was great !
Tracy (09 July 2018)

Really enjoyed our stay, a few niggles, which made it less than perfect but on the whole very enjoyable, would return and would recommend to others.
David (29 June 2018)

Excellent lodge in a beautiful location
Val from Ipswich (25 June 2018)

Fabulous lodge, very relaxing. Everything you needed was in the lodge. Would have liked the café to be open a little later.
Lesley from Southend (22 June 2018)

Great location with plenty of places to visit in surrounding area
Tracey from Lowestoft (22 June 2018)

The only drawback was the noise from the clay pigeon shooting.
Sylvia from Bury St Edmunds (22 June 2018)

We stayed in a 2 person lodge for a week and had a wonderful time. The lodge was clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped and appointed. The hot tub is fantastic - the best we have used - and the coffee machine a nice treat. Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. . it is a lovely location and a great base for exploring suffolk's area of outstanding natural beauty. The lodges are surrounded by beautiful green space with lots of wildlife and very peaceful once the clay shooting finishes. We did a lot of sightseeing during the day but I should imagine that if you stayed around the lodge the noise might be distracting. . we did not avail ourselves of the shooting, archery and fishing etc but it was clearly very popular.
Diane from Hyde (15 June 2018)

Outstanding accommodation in superb surroundings.
Keith from Wrexham (08 June 2018)

If you are looking to get away from life's bustle I cannot reccomend this highly enough. beautiful countryside fabulous hot tub and lots of little extras. Go and unwind you won't regret it.
Tina from Ipswich (28 May 2018)

We arrived with every intention to have a few days out. But when we got there and see the lodge we decided to just stay there all week we so that’s what we did although we went to the nearest tesco to get a weeks shopping and drove into great yarmouth for a couple of hours. The hot tub is amazing and we were lucky to have good weather for it.
Katy from South East London (25 May 2018)

Lovely quiet location- fantastic staff & the lodge was lovely- definitely coming back
Martin from Maidstone (18 May 2018)

A very pleasant stay in a lovely location. really enjoyed viewing the wild life including wildlife and hares! lodge spacious with excellent large, comfy bed. Hot tub a wonderful extra.
Sharon from Cirencester (04 May 2018)

Excellent accommodation in beautiful grounds. Our weekend was not long enough there especially as it rained throughout but that did not stop us enjoying the hot tub. Very comfortable and well equipped lodge. Loved it.
Sue from Swanbourne (30 April 2018)

Fantastic value for money lovely place highly recommend
Kelly from Stowupland (30 April 2018)

Excellent short stay. Nice food and nice surroundings.
Michael from Upminster (23 April 2018)

Excellent getaway in the perfect location to explore suffolk. Very close to minsmere. Lovely verander overlooking pond and golf course. Very tranquil and peaceful.
Alex from Camberley (23 April 2018)

Beautiful lodge only a couple of things. Hot tub was lovely but had a few bits of rubbish sitting at the bottom just needed cleaning out. And bathrooms were brilliant but could do with some shelves to put stuff e.g. Toothbrushes etc. Site was excellent if you like clay pigeon shooting which we did but if you don't it would be noisy and nothing else to do. Might be nice if the club house bar was open later.
Debbie from Sittingbourne (09 April 2018)

Very clean tidy and high standard hot tub was awesome. Staff very helpful
Stephen from Essex (26 March 2018)

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location, peaceful, clean and wonderful staff. Perfect eeek away for our anniversary. Can't wait to come back! loved the welcome fudge too

We had an absolutely lovely time and felt it was a brilliant lodge and setting. We loved the luxury of the lodge and the hot tub. All beautifully clean and comfortable.
Lucinda (05 February 2018)

It was absolutely amazing, well spent money!!!
Victoria from London (04 February 2018)

We had a lovely time at high lodge. the lodge was spacious and comfortable. There is a cafe which we used once for lunch and that was fine. activities for adults only. location central for the coastal resorts to visit.
Susan from Hertford (02 February 2018)

Never knew a holiday could be this relaxing and so wonderful in the middle of january is freezing cold britain. Everything was perfect and the added extras you get just made it so special.
Davina from Great Yarmouth (19 January 2018)

Lovely lodge but lots of bangs going off .. clay pigeon shooting going on .
Jenny (11 December 2017)

Beautiful, well-equipped lodge. We couldn't fault a thing. The hot tub was amazing. We will definitely be returning and have already recommended to family and friends
Gillian from Chelmsford (08 December 2017)

This was a great location, staff were very helpful and lodge was wonderful, the hot tub made it the most comfortable lodge we have stayed at and will be back to stay again in the near future.
Paul from North Walsham (01 December 2017)

We had an amazing time at claywood lodge! the lodge itself is beautiful and so peaceful. We would definitely come back again!!!
Laura (27 November 2017)

Third time we have stayed here and already booked 2018
Keith (24 November 2017)

My partner and I spent a week here for his 60th birthday. Lovely peaceful location and the lodges were exceptional. The hot tub was very nice although the lighting on the decking area could be improved as you can't see very well to get to it. The lodge itself was very clean and spacious and lovely and warm. We will definately be coming back
Mary from Harwich (20 November 2017)

Lovely lodge, picturesque setting & helpful staff
Michael from Basildon (20 November 2017)

This was a beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings, all well cared for. the added bonus was the clubhouse which meant we could go and get a cooked breakfast! the staff were extremely nice and helpful. Stay as good as you are.
Kevin from Hertford (17 November 2017)

Beautiful lodge and beautiful area, would definitely stay again. Have booked to have our honeymoon in that location but trying a different lodge.
Kara from Beccles (03 November 2017)

We had a fantastic holiday. The place is great and very relaxing. The staff attentive and the surroundings beautiful. The lodge is huge, very comfortable and has everything you need and to top it off you have a hot tub which is hassle free to use any time of day. Highly recommend
Elizabeth from Maldon (27 October 2017)

Had such a good holiday, girls in the hot-tub every day whilst I was on the golf course!!
David (21 October 2017)

We got charged for fishing £15.the guy in the lodge next door said he has never been asked to pay.he had been there several times. £20 for 2 breakfast,s.£1.80 for a glass of orange juice
Christopher from Essex (09 October 2017)

Reception needs to be better, more staff needed, hot tub would have been better if on decking, also we felt lodge was facing the wrong way would have been better if turned around and faced the golf course. Also a gate is needed to stop people coming into the hot tub area
Mark from Leicester (29 September 2017)

Lovely place
Lorraine from Hemel Hempstead (04 September 2017)

A lovely lodge, the staff were great and it was very peaceful and clean. The only downside is the sound of the clay pigeon shooting which we could hear from our lodge and could be irritating with the patio doors open in the day.
Natalie from Southend (04 September 2017)

We had the best time ever it was our 25th wedding anniversary and both of us could not think of anywhere else we would of rather been we had 4 fabulous days and the hot tub was amazing we loved it so much we have already booked for next year we can't wait the staff are all lovely and friendly thank you so much julie last
Andrew from Sudbury Suffolk (01 September 2017)

We ought to have been told of the shooting event that went on all day on one occasion. Our disabled son was worried by the noise for some time. That apart the location was good.
Peter from Peterborough (28 August 2017)

Great lodge but very close to the road. So can be noisey. Apart from that very nice.
Nathan from Brentwood Essex (28 August 2017)

Great lodge, very well equipped, loved the hot tub
Kevin from Northampton (21 August 2017)

We had a lovely time each day on the beach, the lodge was splendid, and we looked forward to waking up in the lodge and coming back from our day to the lodge.
Jason from Downham Market (14 August 2017)

Lovely place to unwind and relax. Shooting ranges very good. Footgolf for younger was fun and a good idea.
Paula from Essex (14 August 2017)

Lovely peaceful holiday. beautiful clean and spacious lodge. Could use something to entertain children, perhaps a play area.
Brenda from Preston (11 August 2017)

Excellent holiday, we all enjoyed the hot tub, also had a go at the clay shooting, andy the instructor was really friendly and helpful. The lodge is great and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We will be going back at some point. The suffolk coast has some lovely places to visit southwold is a favourite of ours
Andrew from Thetford (05 August 2017)

Think that facilities for example footgolf should be discounted for visitors staying in lodges
Darren from Reading (04 August 2017)

The idea for the holiday was for complete relaxation, if we wanted to go out we would if not we would stay in the lodge. as the lodge was extremely lovely we were quite at home staying in. we did not do any on the activities but we would recommend this site to all friends and family who would enjoy any of these activities along with the quietness of the site. the staff were very helpful, we walked round the site and one of the gentlemen happily showed us around some of the other lodges which were empty. we will most defiantly be back in the future with family and friends.
Raymond from Swavesey, Cambridgeshire (29 July 2017)

Lovely lodge, very clean and good standard of furnishings with plenty of lovely white towels and nice hair and bath products to use. reception staff greeted us and were really nice when we arrived in driving rain! nice location and everything was well kept and tidy. only disappointment was, that I wish we could have stayed longer as stay went so quickly. hope to return again in the autumn.
Denise (14 July 2017)

The lodge was immaculate, very well furnished and comfortable.
Anne from Norwich (24 June 2017)

What a wonderful place to stay, enjoyed every minute
Rhiannon from Barnsley (26 May 2017)

This has got to be one of the best cabin breaks I have had, quiet and beautiful location, food in the restaurant was amazing gorgeous carvery and full english next day before we headed back home, there was everything you would need in the cabin, could not fault it, didn't wanna come home, hot tub was lovely too. Definitely be back!!
Nicky from Crewe (22 May 2017)

The inside of the lodge, willow was nice and plenty of cupboard space. at the front there was a small balcony leading off the sitting area and this was in the sun most of the day except that you could not comfortably sit there as the road leading down to the car park and other facilities was very close and intrusive possibly judge the road only to be about a cars length from the lodge. Some of the pots and pans perhaps could have done with a good wash and maybe of a better quality. The bathroom was fine except there was no shaver point. The bedroom was of a good size except that the bed was uncomfortable even though we discovered there were two mattress toppers on it. the wardrobes were fine except that there were only four coat hangers. The curtains were very thin letting and let light in at night which came from the main club house some distance way. The checking in time was only an hour between five and six and although if you were going to be late to telephone except it did not take into account of guests getting stuck in traffic and no mobile connection. (this happened to us). very strange greeting at the main gate when we arrived about 15 minutes late with no explanation as to who they were. seemed more in a hurry to leave. There was an eating place on site but closed in the evening. However though the intrusion of the cars passing so close this made us get out and explore the area more. On third day we woke up to no water but it was restored by 7am. however the water did taste strange. maybe their electric systems need to be fully checked could be overloaded.
Ann-Margaret from Stoke Holy Cross, Norwich, Norfolk (07 April 2017)

The lodge was excellent. It would have been nice if the bar and restaurant had been open in the evenings as there was no where to walk too and you were quite isolated. . overall though the lodge was well equipped and warm and cosy. It was perfect for a relaxing get away from it all break.
Michelle from Huntingdon (18 March 2017)

Overall a great holiday. Location for where we wanted to go and do was great. . things that you can do on site golf, fishing, archery and clay pidgeon shooting has additional charges attached. The onsite cafe offers food until a certain time. However, I would suggest that you check first that the cook will be there into the late afternoon. Our experience was a let down as the cook left early. The road that passed our lodge was used quite a lot and nearly all vehicles both light and heavy didn't obey the speed restrictions they were going much faster. There appears to be another road being constructed so hopefully this will help. If we go back to this area we would certainly consider coming back here.
Duncan from Basildon, Essex (03 March 2017)

Lovely place to stay visiting family. Only downside that clubhouse isn't open for evening meals, we did know this though when we booked.
Alison from Hull (24 February 2017)

Excellent holiday in suffolk, enjoying hot tub, clay pigeon shooting, golf & fishing. Accommodation was spotless & well supplied.
Helen from Whitehaven (16 September 2016)

Only a minor gripe as the lodge was beautiful, but it would have been perfect if the golf club bar and restaurant had been open after 5pm. . great location to visit other places. would definitely go back again.
Lisa from Milton Keynes (22 July 2016)

Lovely holiday and enjoyed seeing the wildlife on the site
Frances from Higham Ferrers (18 June 2016)

Fabulous accommodation and lovely weekend in great surroundings. Friendly staff.
Clare from Stowmarket (04 April 2016)

Lovely place to stay. Staff and owner very friendly. Great for local area and wildlife.
Hilary from Burgess Hill (19 March 2016)

The lodge was lovely and exactly what we had been looking for. It was spacious and very clean. The boiler in the first lodge we stayed in broke and we had to be moved. However, the staff were really apologetic about this and could not have done more to make the situation better. the only thing we didn't like were the pillows. They were too soft for us, so if you have room in the car, might be worth taking your own.
Melanie (21 December 2015)

Have recommended my his lodge to all my friends after spending the weekend there! amazing value for money and we will definitely be visiting again!
Dean from Oakham (09 November 2015)
