The lodge we stayed in was very good could not have wished nfor better. Everything was kept exceptionally clean.
Carol from Dudley, West Midlands (23 August 2014)

We really enjoyed our pvc wood cladded lodge! the level of comfort was higher than expected and higher than we have experienced in the past at other resorts. For instance there were televisions in every bedroom, ipod charging facilities, tea towels, towels, dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryer and a welcome pack of washing up liquid, tea bags, cloths etc. There was unlimited wifi which kept the teenagers happy and beautiful well maintained surroundings. The quality of the swimming pool and changing facilities was excellent. Excellent storage in each bedroom.
Lynne from Uckfield (23 August 2014)

Expensive but we had an amazing week.
Nicola (23 August 2014)

Given the go active programme and therefore the people staying there it could have done with an open play area for children for throwing balls, frisbee and even cricket. the multisport area was the only place and it could be used fully by only two people playing tennis.
John from Leeds (23 August 2014)

Lovely holiday - the restaurant was the only disappointment - lack of choice (change menu maybe through the week?) & quality of cooked food.
Kirstie from Horley, Surrey (23 August 2014)

Fab grankids overjoyed
Colin from Swindon Wilts (23 August 2014)

Beautiful and convenient location. The accommodation was superb, fully equipped and pleasantly decorated. The park itself was quiet and very well maintained with the staff being very friendly. We visited the restaurant twice and found it quite reasonable, although they could do with expanding the menu or offering more daily specials. The restaurant and pool area were very clean with plenty of staff on hand if you needed any help. Will definitely go back to cheddar woods again.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Queenborough, Kent (22 August 2014)

We had a lovely holiday and would be happy to return, lodges ( well caravans ) are lovely but a 6 berth mendip lodge was very cramped ! the restaurant was way understaffed and this needs to be addressed by the management super quick. if you sell a 5 star holiday expectation of the customer is high. overall a lovely place to holiday but not quite 5 stars.
Kate from Burntwood (22 August 2014)

Lovely and spotlessly clean.more activities needed for persons with disabilities.
Peter from Wigan (16 August 2014)

Great place for a family with active kids
Daniel from Brighouse (16 August 2014)

Cheddar woods was a beautiful place with excellent staff who went out of their way to help. I would gladly visit again
Paul from Durham (16 August 2014)

Excellent lodge with hot tub and lovely surroundings close to other attractions in the area. My family and I had a lovey time and would return.
Simon from Fareham (16 August 2014)

Disappointed with check in. did not get keys until 5pm and then found the cleaner still in the lodge. the noise of the cleaners buggies was very annoying as we were close to their workshop and the reversing buzzer for these buggies was very loud, high pitched and continuous; we were woken up one night by them. problems in the restaurant on the friday night we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes which we were happy with but took 1 hour 15 minutes for our food to arrive
Debbie from Bexhill (16 August 2014)

A beautifully kept site in a peaceful setting with sufficient activities for primary school aged children. excellent leisure facilities and spa. very friendly and happy staff.
Joanne from Preston (16 August 2014)

Lovely lodges on a beautiful location
Denise from Romford (16 August 2014)

Lovely well maintained park with good facilities, a little on the pricey side but would visit again. The staff were fantastic and very helpful, the go active instructors were great with my children who are 11, 10, 8 and 5 they enjoyed all the activities I booked for them, just a shame some of the activities were not a bit longer. The food in the restaurant was great even my fussy children cleared their plates.
Maria from Tamworth (16 August 2014)

We enjoyed our stay, the only negative thing I would say is about the pool opening times. Would prefer the pool to be open for children and adults earlier and stay open a little later.
Liz from Winchester (16 August 2014)

Brilliant holiday
Dee from Herts (16 August 2014)

Beautiful and ideal location lodge spotless and food great would recommend to all our family and friends.
Ann from Bury (16 August 2014)

Excellent location and beautiful surroundings. Lodge and hot tub were excellent. site every well presented and maintained. only disappointment was that our children are 2 and 8, so neither of them could take part in the go juniors activity programme. there were however activities available for the older child in the go active programme. .
Brendan from Co Donegal, Ireland (16 August 2014)

Our holiday was very enjoyable only problem was due to get in our lodge at 4oclock the cleaners hadn't finished was told by one staff to get a drink while waiting nearly hr later got told to get another drink so payed nearly twenty pound before started our holiday when we got to our lodge the mirrors where dirty splash marks all over them and we had to report that the hand towel was on floor when we got in reported it to reception which the cleaners would have seen if they cleaned bath room so the handy man came day after was reported very nice man needed screwing back on
Raymond from West Sussex (16 August 2014)

Loved it. Site was busy but seemed well spread out. Staff lovely and helpful. Lodges really comfy, towels, hair dryer, soap, shower gel, washing up pack. Bar great to relax in while children play in soft play room , pool tables, bowling, nice food. Everywhere clean. Swimming pool was good, early adult swim, one late night swim. Not too crowded. Sauna, steam room. . layed out in little cul de sacs so no through road traffic. Large grassy play area near our lodge with picnic tables. Board games in lodge. Tv in both bedrooms. Walk in wardrobes. Fab place, must have cost a fortune, all very well designed. Thank you everyone.
Emma from Henley (16 August 2014)

Accommodation was outstanding.. I thought that it was a shame that people with dogs such as ourselves could not have hot-tubs & needed to be grouped together next to the club house.. felt a bit like the dog wasn't that welcomed. You could not even sit & have a coffee around the facilities with the dog. we will holiday in nice & expensive accommodation each year in this country & therefore the place that offers the nicest dog friendly accommodation will get our return business.
Caroline from Brighton (16 August 2014)

Excellent holiday, wifi in lodge a real bonus for my teenagers. Looking to come back soon
Trevor from London (16 August 2014)

Lovely camp and lovely accomodation. Restaurant a bit over-priced.
Julie (16 August 2014)

Friendly staff.
Martijn from Delft, Holland (16 August 2014)

Clean. Well kept. Brilliant staff and helpful and friendly . accommodation was like home from home with all amenities
Michelle from Swansea (16 August 2014)

A beautiful place to stay, equipped to an excellent standard. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Nicola from Tunbridge Wells (16 August 2014)

Nice place in nice setting, didn't need to go out anywhere to find things to do, struggled squeeze in trip to wookey hole. Lots for kids to do, go active instructors and activities very good had no problems booking activities even though stayed during summer holidays. Pool was nice, open most of the day and never too busy. Restaurant food nice with playground which was never too busy either.
Denise from Plymouth (15 August 2014)

Well, first of all I want to disagree with a couple of the negative reviews on here. Yes, the lodges are plastic clad rather than wooden but in the grand scheme of things this doesn't really matter, they look fabulous and the whole resort is well designed! another negative review said that the fixtures and fittings were cheap. Seriously, was the reviewer actually staying at the same place as me?? there is nothing cheap about the fixtures and fittings here! our lodge (no 19) was spacious, fabulous, luxurious, and had absolutely everything you could need. . the living room is large, nicely decorated with carpet, comfy seating, large tv, ipod docking station and charging station for every make of mobile phone you can think of. Plenty of power sockets and lovely curtains. An electric fire we didn't use and even some board games for wet days. . the kitchen is probably better equipped than the one I have at home. Double oven, combi microwave, dishwasher (3 tablets included as well as a small bottle of wash-up liquid and dish washing sponge), washer/dryer, fridge and freezer and huge gas hob. Modern cabinets with every glass, plate, cup and cooking utensil you could ask for. Sharp knives, good quality pans. My only comment would be that there isn't a lot of cupboard space left for storing food, and I would question the necessity of a full-size freezer when the most that your average family will use it for is ice and a pack of fish fingers!!! there is also a large, modern glass topped dining table with 6 smart chairs and even has place mats, drinks mats and salt & pepper mills. . . bedrooms well equipped, lovely comfy beds, thick duvets, good quality bedding and plenty of storage especially in the master bedroom where there was a walk-in wardrobe. Again plenty of power sockets and a flat screen tv in each room. Plenty of thick, fluffy towels, toilet rolls and gorgeous toiletries from the white company in the bathroom that I loved so much I ordered some online before we even left the resort!. . there is a large decking area at the front - some lodges have a hot tub (sadly we didn't book early enough to get one) and also a huge outdoor table with plenty of seating and cushions as well. . each lodge has its own wifi point which was really easy to connect to. They give you 2 codes with your welcome pack for free which are valid for 1 week or 2gb, but if you need more or run out of data they are happy to give our more codes. I think between the 4 of us with phones, ipods, ipads and laptop we got through over a dozen codes in a week, none of which I had to pay for, it seems you can have as many codes as you want which certainly kept my kids happy. . the pool is good, and there is a sauna and steam room as well as relaxation area for adults. We went to the bar for drinks a couple of times and ate there once which was excellent. . didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities but it looked fabulous in there. . all in all, an excellent holiday resort, really close to cheddar gorge, cannot fault it at all.
Carole-Anne from Kent (15 August 2014)

Brilliant venue, will definitely stay there again, great pool and facilities, playground was a favourite everyday with the children. Lodge was brilliant, still felt new and had everything you could need on a week away, plenty spacious for our family of four.
Alison from Preston (15 August 2014)

The lodges were fantadtic but not a lot of choice re food as my mother and I have chrones and my dad is diabetic. I felt thst the food could have been better. Could hsve done with mire facilities fir older children but overall a god holidaythe food in the shop wad very evpensive.
Karen from Paignton (15 August 2014)

Beautiful surroundings, lovely and clean. Had a ball!
Angeline from Wales (15 August 2014)

It was a lovely place and we would go back again.
Kirsten from Ormskirk (15 August 2014)

Lovely accomodation, attractive park surroundings, staff very friendly and helpful. Only disappointment was the restaurant food quality, although there was apparently a problem in the kitchen and a discount was given.
Margaret from Bristol (11 August 2014)

Excellent park, well kept, clean, very helpfull staff, beer prices good, will be going back.
Paul (11 August 2014)

Fantastic. The location was excellent and the setting was beautiful. We found all the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly and the accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. We had a great time.
Dawn from Luton (09 August 2014)

We asked to be out the way which we were but unfortunately next to the motorway which kinda spoilt it as very noisy. Not much to do for our almost 15 year old as too old to join i. With kids stuff and too young to do activities which interested him. Pool looked boring just plain pool so didn't use, hot tub was fabulous!
Sarah from Essex (09 August 2014)

After ringing the site asking verious questions staff was very helpful but on arrival lodge wasn't ready(free drink was offered) hot tub wasn't cleaned 2 days later staff came to drain it and kids had to wait before letting them in!!no hoover a full weeks work off muck from 8 people walking in and out asked a member of staff for one none came!knock on the door reminding us we must be out of lodge by 10!no hook fitted on hot tub for safety till the day before we left!great location loads to do around the area on the whole we had a good time I just feel wasn't very good value for money
Andrew from Hull (09 August 2014)

We really enjoyed our stay at cheddar woods. . the facilities on site were good, however another larger play area for older children would have been fantastic. Also the opening times for the swimming pool could do with being extended too. The lodges were very high spec. The addition of a washer/dryer in our lodge was incredibly handy and the hot tub was very luxurious. Just what was needed after a very busy day!. we would not hesitate to recommend cheddar woods!
Helen from Waterlooville (09 August 2014)

Loved everything about this place. I think, in an ideal world, i'd add a separate coffee shop and patisserie - and newspapers in the shop! gym was well equipped, staff very friendly, an overall great location and everything you needed in the lodge (loved having a washing machine!).
Claire from Abingdon (09 August 2014)

We really enjoyed our family holiday here and we would come back and I have recommended cheddar woods to others. our only criticism is that the food took so long in the restaurant.
Susan (09 August 2014)

This site was excellent and we were very happy with the accommodation - we had two teenage boys with us (16+) and the facilities were brilliant for them too. we would recommend this site to friends and in fact already have!
Caron (09 August 2014)

Cheddar woods is ideally located so you can visit some cool places which are all centric to your lodge. Longleat is only 56 minutes away and the lovely gorge is just 5 minutes up the road.
Tim from Eastbourne (09 August 2014)

Beautiful setting, well equipped lodge, hot tub was wonderful.
Ruth from Clacton (09 August 2014)

Well kept park, lovely area, prefer lodge escapes to go active. All staff were friendly and helpful. Only criticism was take away service from restaurant poor and cleanliness of lodge was not 100%
Sally from Dunstable (09 August 2014)

An absolutely beautiful place. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Couldn't find any faults and i'm a very fussy lady. Would highly recommend it.
Jane from Liverpool (09 August 2014)

Had a brilliant stay.
Tracey from Sussex (08 August 2014)

Excellent place, staff are really great things to do for the kids, but just a few things you need to cater a little for the in between kids 15/16 and also possibly a little entertainment at night, local singers or trio's etc, other than that it was brilliant.
Carole from Portsmouth (08 August 2014)

Very impressed with cheddar complex and helpfulness of staff great location and will revisit soon
Alan from Shoeburyness (08 August 2014)

All though good and nice lodge no evening entertainment or children's sitting service to use gym etc activities pricey for what you pay for the lodge I would expect activities inc
Steve from Penge (02 August 2014)

The best self catering holiday we have ever had. Cheddar woods is amazing and our accommodation was superb. Would highly recommend this resort.
Clare from Hampshire (02 August 2014)

They are caravans not lodges
David (02 August 2014)

Beautiful holoday park had a real relaxing holiday, the go active program is very good , but there could be more facility's for the children to do on an evening, bowling and pool tables are not enough and they are very expensive, some music on an a late evening or entertainment wouldn't go a miss either as there is none. But apart from that it's a really nice place to stay.
Stephen from Birmingham (02 August 2014)

Fantastic holiday, gorgeous accommodation, everything was spotless. All staff were helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be booking again for next summer.
Julie from Tamworth (02 August 2014)

Fabulous!!spotless clean,staff helpfull & friendly can't fault it!!!
Julie (02 August 2014)

Everything was first class & would highly reccomend. It is a lovely location with lots to do on site and the surrounding area.
Susan from Durham (02 August 2014)

On arriving at resort. It seemed like chaos and we were hurried along to our lodge with no welcome as such.felt that this was not the way to be treated when you first arrive.people that arrived on the monday got a full tour around the facilities.
David from Uddingston (02 August 2014)

Excellent choice of holiday would certainly recommend and return
Christopher from Whitley Bay (02 August 2014)

This park is in a beautiful location, with lovely staff and wonderful accommodation. It was clean and easy to use. My only complaint was the wifi it offered was not good enough to connect to the internet for most of the holiday - mixed blessings.
Wendy from Hereford (02 August 2014)

Great place would recommend to anyone. Fantastic holiday.
Julie from Essex (02 August 2014)

Wonderful highly recommend! both adults and children had an amazing time, everything was clean and well maintained. thank you!
Paula (02 August 2014)

The staff were always really friendly and very helpful. the pool was nice but I have seen cleaner. The relaxation room was soo cold you could not relax!! it would have been fantastic to have had an outdoor pool so that you could make the most of the nice weather.
Pip from Cheshire (02 August 2014)

A lovey site with super pool and wifi in lodges bonus with children
Kate from Martham (02 August 2014)

The standard at cheddar woods was excellent, from been greeted at the entrance on our arrival through the whole week of our stay we could not fault a thing, staff great, food great, swimming pool great.
Stephen from County Durham (02 August 2014)

A great place: immaculate grounds, excellent staff, spotless- just overpriced.
Phil (01 August 2014)

A fantastic holiday,in a great location, friendly staff and made perfect by the beautiful weather.
Andrew from Grays Thurrock (26 July 2014)

Super park, super lodges, super location.
Steve from North Ferriby (26 July 2014)

We stayed during the heatwave so the lack of air con was felt! we were pleased with the size of the accommodation and bedrooms - plenty of room and storage. the place was spotless and had all we could ask for. being picky I would have liked a pizza cutter and sharper knives but that is all I could suggest!
Anne from Oldbury (26 July 2014)

Lodge was beautiful
Kathryn from Porthcawl (26 July 2014)

We had a lovely holiday, great if you want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We stayed in a mendip 3 which was big enough for us (a family of 5) the only thing I would say is we had no shade whatsoever, no parasol or even a tree near by. We have a baby a 4 and 8 year old and so couldn't sit outside on the decking as we couldn't escape the sun. It would have been more pleasurable to have at least a parasol on the decking especially as we paid more for a hot tub that we couldn't really use till late evening. Unfortunately we didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked clean and modern we did however have a drink at the bar and our children played in the play park they have in the grounds which they enjoyed. . overall we had a lovely holiday with brilliant weather. The staff, helpful and friendly. would definitely recommended to friends and family.
Laura from St Leonards On Sea (26 July 2014)

Beautiful surroundings with thoughtful planting to encourage bees and butterflies (there are several rare species of butterflies in the area). my only criticism is that the pool closes at 6 pm most days; there is not much to do in the evenings in the park or surrounding area so it would be nice to be able to go for a swim.
Susan from Fareham (26 July 2014)

This is a gorgeous location and a relatively small site which meant that we saw the families we made friends with everyday. The staff were all happy and helpful and the children's activities were very well organised and great fun! in the evenings, the children played on the adventure playground, in the soft play area or on the 2-lane bowling alley which are all part of the restaurant area, so the parents could easily chat while watching the kids. The parc is only one year old so the lodges are immaculate. Our cheddar lodge was much more spacious than our friends mendip lodge which was more like a caravan really. I would recommend the cheddar lodge as the large open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, roomy bedrooms, bathroom and ensuite made for a very comfortable stay. The veranda is a lovely addition too! and I appreciated having a washing machine, ironing board and iron in the lodge after a day at the beach! I booked a month in advance and got 50% discount on the brochure price which made it definitely value for money!.
Sarah from Stafford (26 July 2014)

First of all, for those of you looking for perfection, it doesn't exist so get over it! this was a wonderful holiday in a fantastic lodge. I have 4 children aged 9 - 17 plus 2 dogs and we all had a great time. The park is spotless and the staff are amongst the best I have met on this type of holiday. . set in an idyllic area the park caters for most needs, but the shop is very small so a 5 minute drive into cheddar and there is a tesco express. The woods behind the park were great for walking the dogs but beware of ticks! a special mention to the go active staff, they were fantastic.
Barry from Stoke On Trent (26 July 2014)

A high quality holiday on a high quality park, plenty of activities for the children and a great bar and restaurant. The company
Adam from Halesowen (26 July 2014)

The lodges were of very high standard - but one main complaint they should have put in air conditioning. our week we had a heat wave which was lovely; but at night we could not get a good nights sleep as it was unbearably hot
Pauline from Maidstone Kent (26 July 2014)

We had a fantastic holiday and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The instructors for the kids activities really engaged the children and made it great fun.
Robert from Doncaster (26 July 2014)

Park is almost new and has wonderfull facilities. Cabins are a little bit close to each other, but other than that it's perfect.
Ed from Berkel En Rodenrijs (Nl) (26 July 2014)

Such a beautiful place the lodge was amazing very clean and had everything we needed staff were brill iant would defo recomend
Robert (26 July 2014)

Fantastic holiday park. Perfect accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Great facilities would highly recommend.
Kim from Kettering (26 July 2014)

We just got back from a nice family holiday and over all, the park and lodges are very clean and modern with all you need and more. The cabins are all quite new and high spec, however all are plastic cladding so don’t think they are wooden cabins. Hot tubs are great for an evening under the stars . the patio furniture is very nice but could do with a sunshade as there is no cover, if your lucky enough to get the amazing weather we had and you wish to use it through the daytime. When booking ask for a lodge away from the road if you want quiet as it’s a busy road 24/7. The restaurant is very good and the food is of high quality. Not a huge menu but better to have quality than quantity I feel. The restaurant and bar staff are all very friendly, so are all the housekeepers and lifeguards. One or two of the reception staff need more customer training, bearing in mind they are normally the first you meet on arrival and first impressions are what makes a lasting impression. The spa is nice and prices are ok. The little shop is good for basic needs apart from never having bread when we needed it. Down sides: very limited pool times with no swimming later than 7.30pm on a wednesday night, all other nights there is no free swimming after 5.45pm,due to go-active taking up the pool for paid for events. This we found to be a very big downside as when you’re out for the day you want to swim when you get back, it is really not good enough as a holiday complex, there is nothing to do other than visit the bar or restaurant in the evenings . the go-active events are good but at £5 per child for most events, the more children you have the more extra money you need. As we had three children it was an expensive addition to what was rather expensive accommodation with limited free time in the swimming pool. Now the other more concerning fact for parents is take care , we were in a glastonbury lodge and the hot tub was great with safety cover has no worries for the little ones if parents are mindful and responsible as children drown quickly. There are warning signs to for the ones who need to be reminded how dangerous unsupervised children are around water. But this is my concern all the windows in our cabin were fitted with very nice blinds but very long cords or chain actions to let down or up or to open them. So we had to tie them up keeping safety in our minds. They were for us a cause of some concern as these were in all rooms bedrooms included. Children can strangle on blind cords. As a former nhs workers I heard and seen to many of these sad accidents that are so avoidable please take care. Overall a very nice week and noah’s ark zoo was a very good day out, the shop even had free sun cream to use on the little ones , that was a nice touch. Wookey hole caves were a great day out too, and of course the gorge was breath-taking. . stayed july 2014, travelled with family
Linda (26 July 2014)

We had a fantastic time during our stay with you and we were happy with everything! the spa was amazing!
Samantha from Coventry (26 July 2014)

Our holiday was amazing, staff were so helpful, lodge was amazing, very clean. Cant wait to come back. . well done cheddar woods
Amanda (26 July 2014)

Excellent park, great staff.
Gary from Musselburgh (26 July 2014)

Thought the park was excellent. very well landscaped.
Lyn from Whitchurch (26 July 2014)

Excellent holiday will definitely booking up again
Chris from Telford (26 July 2014)

Lovely lodge but site lacking entertainment.
Karen (26 July 2014)

Fantastic will definitely be returning.
Sally Ann from Birmingham (25 July 2014)

The accommodation was absolutely gorgeous beautiful lodge. However I managed to get a discount price for the 5 days that we were there; I do not think that I would pay £1000 for the week it's just too expensive for what the facilities have to offer. The go active programme is a good idea but in practice did not work for us at all. I have children of 3 and 10 the activities were staggered so the kids could not be in a club at the same time so my youngest missed out as if we had of waited around all day for the kids programmes we would not have left the park. I think you also need to extend the go active for the little ones; there needs to be qualified staff so the parents can go and use the gym and other facilities as this was a disappointment. The take away menu was awful! if you don't like pizza or burgers you're out of luck and even when we did ask for a take away pizza we were told that they had ran out of bases, disgraceful really. Understandably to use the gym we needed an induction, although this seemed pointless as the instructor did not really do anything and when asked what time the gym closed he couldn't answer because he didn't know. On the day of departure the maintenance men came to empty the jacuzzi at 9:15 when check out was not until 10am. I found this rude and unprofessional as they didn't even introduce themselves to say what they were doing, my son was walking around naked at the time! it felt as if you telling us leave and that we're not welcome anymore. This is a fairly quick overview and full details will be sent within an email when I have time to write one fully and carefully.
Sarah from Pershore (25 July 2014)

Only a year old , cheddar woods is an ideal base to explore somerset and wiltshire. We stopped in a premier lodge and it was well fitted out with a hot tub. Plenty for kids to do with a nice centre/bar resturant.
Lee from Worksop (25 July 2014)

Great location, easy walk into cheddar gorge. Beautiful and tranquil location. Very clean park.
Tracy from Abergavenny (25 July 2014)

Had been recommended here but did not know for sure what to expect. Everything was more than I expected and more, I will return
Neil from Rowley Regis, West Mids. (25 July 2014)

Had a brilliant time, it's a lovely park. Our lodge was fantastic, with everything you need catered for & a brilliant price. I would definitely book again. I've already recommend it to my friends & family.
Kerry from Stourbridge (25 July 2014)

We had a lovely holiday except for the last night when we went to the brasserie to order dinner at 8pm only to be told that they were busy , had temporary chefs in and were not serving any food. The restaurant and the bar area were practically empty, the outdoor seating was quite full. we were very upset , I did point out that the brasserie wasn't full and it was the start of the school holidays and likely to get busier. The bar staff were helpful and apologetic and we were very upset as we felt up to that point we had had a marvellous holiday
Jane from Telford (25 July 2014)

Excellent break- high quality luxurious lodges , friendly staff- would recommend getting lodge with private hot tub- pure heaven- very scenic location & easy to get to- one of the best staycations I have had!! well done cheddar woods!!
Kavita from Leicester (25 July 2014)

Brilliant
Joanne from Appleby (25 July 2014)

Fantastic resort, staff were lovely and really helpful, especially when there were a couple of small issues with our accommodation. Really impressed. .
Emma from Connah'S Quay (25 July 2014)

Beautiful location. The restaurant couldn't cope when a few big parties were in. Had to wait well over an hour for food- not good with children.
Jan from Wirral (25 July 2014)

Superb staff and the go active instructors are so friendly, helpful and very patient. . we will definitely be returning.
Chris from Cardiff (25 July 2014)

As a family of 5 with three children (7, 6 and 4) cheddar woods was a fantastic place to have a holiday. a fabulous haven in beautiful surroundings with spectacular views. the lodges were amazing: spotlessly clean; very well equipped with a washing machine, large fridge, very comfy beds; spacious with a very contemporary layout. the staff were amazing and understood what customer service was all about. the activities for the children were great and the staff that ran these really engaged the children. the swimming pool and spa area was spotlessly clean and never seemed to be crowded. I would thoroughly recommend cheddar woods and in fact we are going back again - 4 weeks after our first visit!
Liesl from London (21 July 2014)

We had a wonderful long weekend break at cheddar woods to celebrate a family birthday. We wished we had booked to stay longer! the lodges were superbly equipped and extremely modern and clean. The overall holiday surpassed our expectations and we would definitely visit again.
Lucy from Warwickshire (21 July 2014)

The facilities were lovely and lots of activities. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot for my very girly 8 year old daughter to do or my very lively 2 year old. My 10 yr old stepson was in his element with all the activities.
Robert from Poole (21 July 2014)

A fantastic park for a quiet family break with superb modern facilities. Immaculate and well worth a visit.
Mike from Hereford (21 July 2014)

Brilliant park - staff extremely friendly and helpful - accommodation excellent - park kept very clean and we'll maintained x going back in august
Linda from Scunthorpe (19 July 2014)

Big issue was the temp in the chalets.. even with the windows open it was far to hot and needed air con
Zahn from Swindon (19 July 2014)

Beautiful place and location , spotless site and amazing views
Nicholas from Leicester (19 July 2014)

Fantastic place. the location was absolutely stunning as the grounds must have been planted out by someone who loves gardens and so well maintained. the staff were always friendly, helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. I have two very boisterous boys who didn't like that they weren't allowed to jump in the pool but apart from that the facilities were top notch. thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Jacqueline from Lisburn, Co Antrim (19 July 2014)

We had a lovely week's holiday, the chalet was very comfortable and clean, although smaller than we have had previously in the autograph range. one negative comment was the limited amount of storage in the two single bedded rooms, our cases, bags had to be stored in the master suite which also doubled up with the vac etc and usually there would be a utility cupboard for this stuff.
Janet from East Riding Of Yorkshire (19 July 2014)

Overall this site very well maintained. somewhat denser in placements of lodges than other locations we've been to in the past, however we were not overlooked at all due to being on the hill side. all the staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. . the pool area is a bit basic compared to other parks, although it did have a very nice soft touch floor to the pool. The only down size is it closes at 5pm apart from thursday, we often like a swim to relax after a day out and would have expected it to be open to at least 7:30pm. . the lavender beds were beautiful and I believe in 2015 they will be selling their own home grown lavender oil.
Duncan from Leicestershire (19 July 2014)

Excellent site. Very well maintained and with staff who were very helpful.
Angus from Cornwall (19 July 2014)

Superb in every way, accommodation immaculate , go active for the children wonderful, restaurant food exceptional. Can't think of one negative.
Penny from Bodmin (19 July 2014)

Comfortable spacious and well equipped lodge. Small play areas for children and beautifully landscaped site, positioned perfectly for many days out. We will return.
Josephine from Norwich (19 July 2014)

Lovely holiday, we took our dog with us, lovely walks for her, deck with a gate, perfect. Short walk to cheddar. Great base found lots to do. We even had lovely weather. Would definitely go back, love it.
Julie from Fareham (18 July 2014)

This place is absolutely brilliant, couldn't fault it whatsoever. The lodge was splendid. It was equipped with everything and more that a family could ever need on a holiday. And the hot tub, wow, what a blissful experience. All of the staff we met during our stay were tremendously polite, professional, and most of all helpful. I had a treatment with alice, who was very good at her profession and incredibly sweet. Last of all the food, oh the food..heaven! my partner and I are food critics, being competent cooks ourselves, but we were mighty impressed. We ate there most nights, because it was so tasty, especially the salmon and chocolate brownie! I highly recommend cheddar woods lodges!! .
Katrina from Carterton (18 July 2014)

We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean and well equipped our lodge was. We wish we had booked for longer!
Andrew from Colchester, Essex. (18 July 2014)

Great place close to most areas that's worth a visit. Very clean . staff very helpfull and freindly.
Steve from Birmingham (18 July 2014)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at cheddar woods and would certainly return. the only issue that we have is the 4 pm entry and 10 am departure times, we felt as though we lost two days holiday.
Brian from Stoke On Trent (18 July 2014)

Fantastic holiday no faults to be found, we have a autistic child. And the lodge was perfect for him, we didn't take part. In any activitys or use the facility's but that's just . down to his condition but everything looks amazing.
Jason from Leicester (18 July 2014)

Fabulous park fabulous accommodation. Fantastic staff. only criticism is the restaurant is a bit pricey. there should be a restaurant menu and a pub menu
Rosie from Manchester (18 July 2014)

A very relaxing holiday
Alan from Melton Mowbray (18 July 2014)

I would have liked the pool and steam room to have been open earlier and later
Angela from Hertford (14 July 2014)

Beautiful view of mountains which I have enjoyed a lot from hot tub. Very nice holiday park: new and very modern lodges, nice staff, quite and peaceful place. Would love to come back.
Ilona from London (14 July 2014)

Just excellent all round.
Caroled from Colne (12 July 2014)

Lovely holiday, well maintained park. Staff very friendly and attentive. Restaurant very nice perhaps a bit expensive. Could have done with a different menu some nights.
Richard from Wickford (12 July 2014)

Lovely place nothing could be faulted very clean and good décor throughout. restaurant was one of the best places to eat around. would go back without hesitation but unfortunately we did not find somerset to our liking. if cheddar woods could be moved to another county we would definitely go back.
Susan from Shanklin Isle Of Wight (12 July 2014)

Good points = fab park, lodges all new & fresh & comfortable. Views amazing and excellent facilities. Bad points = road noise, ear-wigs in one of the bed's. . . I would also say that the cost of these lodges is very high, but we booked a couple of weeks before and got a big discount..would never have paid full price, but a good deal for what we paid.
Shaz from Poole (12 July 2014)

The facilities and the quality of the accommodation are fantastic and a great base to explore the area from. The pool is lovely and warm and excellent for small children. The restaurant has a nice outdoor play area next to it making meals there really easy. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
James from Derby (12 July 2014)

Beautiful site, well maintained grounds and fantastic lodges,. we enjoyed all the facilities and relished the tranquility of our surroundings. Staff were friendly and helpful - not a sour face to be seen! would reccommend and return.
Elle from Ayrshire (12 July 2014)

Lovely, clean and tidy. Only small gripe is that the pool closed too early.
Robert from Weston-Super-Mare (12 July 2014)

Truly couldn't find any faults with cheddar woods. Will definitely be back.
Bob from London (12 July 2014)

Loved it all - the park, the pool, the setting. Activities were well priced and lots to do even out of season. Only grumble was that we had two different timetables and so turned up at the wrong time for an activity and the receptionist was not very sympathetic, despite the children only getting 10mins of their activity (hence the slightly lower scores). real bonus was the climbing wall as the children love climbing and the instructor we had was brilliant with kids.
Claire from Brackley (11 July 2014)

Wonderful park, will visit again!
Hayley (11 July 2014)

Great place to stay with children but not so great for adults as not a lot to do in park apart from sauna, gym, swimming... need a car to get around for sightseeing and shopping. Great for relaxing if that's all you wish to do. .
Carmela from Cambridge (11 July 2014)

Very friendly staff, immaculate site. Loved it.
Sarah (11 July 2014)

Lovely lodge (axbridge premier) nice fixtures and fittings. Great place for our one year old as soft play and swimming pool quiet. Enough space in twin rooms for travel cot. Great gym and pool. Great place.
Angela (11 July 2014)

Fab holiday, great accommodation and hot tub. Would definately recommend.
Dawn from Rhondda (11 July 2014)

We had a wonderful time here. The park, facilities and accommodation were spotless. If you want a quiet retreat it is perfect. You do need to drive if you want to go out for days, we visited cheddar gorge, bath and western super mare. Used the swimming pool it was very clean and at one point we had the pool to ourselves. Had a wonderful invigorating foot treatment in the espa spa which was lovely. Enjoyed a meal in the onsite restaurant which was faultless and great value. The farm shop was small, so after the first day we used the local tesco express which was a mile away.
Rachael from Essex (07 July 2014)

Great long weekend break. Half price deal would not however pay the full standard price if its genuine.
Chris from Salisbury (07 July 2014)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at cheddar woods in july. The site was immaculate, the lodge was perfect (the hot tub made it very special) all mod cons were available and it was very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful and the facilities were excellent. . one comment I would add is the swimming pool while we were there was only open until 5, this should be extended.
Martin (07 July 2014)

We were not sure what to expect as we had not had a lodge holiday before and were wary of "caravan " style accommodation. However from the moment we arrived everything was pristine, both site and the lodge. The accommodation was immaculate and extremely well equipped. The restaurant and bar were also extremely welcoming and the food excellent value. My only criticism was that the bar takeaway service was slow and on one occasion meant over an hours wait. Also ran out of some dishes. . that said I would not hesitate to return
Nigel from Stourbridge (05 July 2014)

Superb accommodation in lovely surroundings. Very impressed. Would have been helpful if pool stayed open a little later or childrens' swimming earlier in the day.
Beverley from Edinburgh (05 July 2014)

The location is fantastic , great for all the family we all really enjoyed our time there, lodges are a+++ with every well maintained and very clean, will defiantly book again
Spencer from Saxmundham (04 July 2014)

Stunning location and very clean park, just wish break was longer than 4 days since travelling so far. planning on going back next year.
Gayle from Ayrshire (04 July 2014)

We loved cheddar woods. the lodge far exceeded expectations and was immaculate. we had our dog smudge with us and he loved it, especially as there was a gate to stop him getting out and he could have the run of the deck. our meals out in the restaurant were all excellent, the food fresh and beautifully presented.
Carole from Haverfordwest (04 July 2014)

Lovely four day break. Site was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Richard from Nottingham (04 July 2014)

The only thing that let it down was the pool opening hours. The staff on our 1st night were fantastic, but unfortunately the staff on the second night really let the side down.
Louise from Bude Cornwall (30 June 2014)

Had an excellent weekend with friends here. The customer service was wonderful; friendly, efficient and personal. The lodge was one of the best I have stayed in. Pool, steam rooms and spa treatments were fantastic and there was lots to do in the area. I will be returning with family as it provides a truly relaxing place to unwind.
Irene (30 June 2014)

Fabulous setting. The vast majority of staff really lovely, only one let them down and as he was such a contrast it made it all the more marked. Spotlessly clean lodges and site. Swimming pool needs to be open longer and for the full hours advertised. Food a little slow but very good. We were three generations of one family and everybody loved it.
Michelle from Bude (30 June 2014)

Excellent service from start to finish
Dennis from Burgess Hill (28 June 2014)

Beautiful park, fantastic accommodation, friendly staff.
Denise from London (28 June 2014)
