Had a great few days at a very great price. Cabin was beautiful very clean and tidy. Very quiet location. Near lots to see and do to suit everyone. Best cabin yet.
Dawn from Lowestoft (31 August 2018)

Lovely cabin in fine location
Alan (27 August 2018)

A beautiful lodge in a beautiful location.
Tracey from Caerphilly (24 August 2018)

We had an amazing relaxing 4 days the cottage was like a home from home so cosy and snug would highly recommend this holiday we didn't want to come home so thankyou xx
Susan from Hull (17 August 2018)

The cottage itself was wonderful; spacious, modern, tidy and well equipped. . the setting was great, very picturesque and delivered the quiet setting it promises. . the only down side I would say we encountered through-out our stay was that the hot tub was a tad dirty. On the first day of our arrival we were keen to jump in and relax after a long drive but it had dirt residue around the top of the water and there were quite a few dead flies inside. I understand, given the countryside setting, the flies can not necessarily be avoided however, the next day it appeared as though someone had come to clean the hot tub - or to top up the chemicals, check the levels - but the flies and dirt residue was still present afterwards. . overall we enjoyed our time, it was just a shame about the hot tub as it made us less inclined to use it. If the facility had been without the hot tub we would have rated 10/10 for everything else.
Kayleigh from Glasgow (13 August 2018)

Another great stay at these lodges. We were a little disappointed that when we arrived at 4pm after a long drive, the hot tub was only 28 degrees. The lady said she had no idea how long it would take to heat up. The kids did go in at about 8pm, but still very cold. The lodge and location were great. Only criticism was that in woodland 4 the two singles mattresses are awful and need replacing, you can feel the springs really badly. Would still highly recommend and great value for money.
Rachel from Would Still Highly Recommend And Great Value For M (13 August 2018)

Excellent lodge, peaceful location & friendly staff which made for a great break to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
Anthony from Walsall (10 August 2018)

Great holiday,great place!!
David from Huntingdon (23 July 2018)

The accommodation was brilliant. I could live in one of these lodges. We had a few minor issues with the hot tub however overall we were delighted. The only thing that stops me from doing straight 10s across every section was the lane down to the site. It was a narrow rough lane which I was unhappy driving on. If you met another car it was a nightmare. Apart from that it was great.
Gregory from Portadown (23 July 2018)

Had a fantastic break. . the lodge was well equipped with full size fridge freezer. The electric hob was clean and functional, but the markings indicating which ring each dial operated was no longer visible..not a major problem, but made for interesting cooking. The lodge was clean and comfortable and would definitely recommend. There were a couple of neighbours dogs around, which didn't bother me, but I know it did cause problems with others at the park.
Sarah from High Wycombe (20 July 2018)

The barn cottage is beautiful and so super cosy, the perfect couples getaway. . we loved the bed, jacuzzi bath, hot tub, dressing room etc! the robes and slippers are a lovely touch. . kitchen is lovely with everything you need however there is limited volumes ie one frying pan few plates limited cutlery. I like to cook so it meant we were constantly washing up rather than using the dishwasher, not a big deal but could have done with a little extra. . . overall the house is beautiful. . previous guests mentioned that you have no privacy, I wouldn't say this is true. yes you are connected to 2 other cottages occupied by the owners I believe. we didn't see anyone during our 4 day trip other than a friendly visiting dog whom we fed some sausages & the staff discreetly checking the hot tub. . but if you are looking for complete remoteness perhaps the cottage isn't for you as you are living on top of someones home, which didn't bother us but it may you. we didn't feel there was any intrusion on our visit. The only thing I would mention is next door is constructing what looks to be a pool house of sorts. the noise and dust from the monoblock cutting did make its way to our garden which made sitting out during the day not the most peaceful. construction has to happen but for upcoming visitors just be forewarned construction is underway but stops early enough in the evening. . overall id recommend this cottage to anyone and have done to friends and family, it really is a lovely retreat with everything you could need for a perfect romantic break
Marianne (20 July 2018)

Lovely place and definitely would return. Me and my family enjoyed every minute thank you.
Jason (16 July 2018)

Lodge was clean and tidy but actual location is rubbish. They say it's down a bumpy road but it actually a single track lane that a lot of cars will struggle to get up or down due to the camber. The hot tub is not on the decking, it is at the side of the lodge at the very backof the car park space with no seating area. Was not happy with it at all as we had booked it as a treat for my grans birthday to spend time together in the sun and the hot tub was the main reason we had booked it but it was to far for her to walk to get to the hot tub. They advertise no pets yet there seams to be a resident dog that likes to walk around and come in to the lodges if you leave the door open, this was not acceptable to us as we are terrified of dogs, they really need to deal with this or get a gate put on the decking area.
Kevin from Glasgow (16 July 2018)

Excellent accommodation very well equipped in a lovely area, would definitely stay again
Andrew (16 July 2018)

Excellent lodge in well maintained and peaceful surroundings.everyone respected the privacy and . etiquette guidelines of the site.
Nicholas from Scarborough (13 July 2018)

Such a lovely place to go for a nice, quiet, peaceful break. A quaint little town close by. Would 100% go back again, loved it.
Olivia (13 July 2018)

Perfect little place in an ideal location. Your not far from anywhere if you fancy a day out. Lodges are beautiful and great value for money. Very quiet and tranquil. Not much to do if you don’t have a car and pub is a decent walk away but I can’t grumble as it suited us fine. Wold highly recommend
Sarah from Doncaster (29 June 2018)

Fantastic week staying in the amore lodge, we loved the peaceful location and enjoyed days out making the most of this beautiful area. The lodge was very comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. . days out we enjoyed were chatsworth, lyme, dunham massey, bakewell, treak cliff cavern and castleton, and marple bridge. lovely restaurants in nearby marple bridge. . . would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday
Rachael from Durham (29 June 2018)

We had a lovely time
Lisa (25 June 2018)

Loved the area, loved the lodge. I will definitely go back!
Janee (25 June 2018)

Perfect yet again. Went last year as well and loved it. Perfect relaxing time to recharge the batteries.
Christopher from Tamworth (22 June 2018)

Location, lodge and staff were brilliant but we wish we knew there was a 10pm restriction on the hot tub usage. when you have children and by the time they have gone to bed this is the time the grown ups want to use it and was unable to do so. otherwise cannot fault this break at all, fantastic weekend.
Ranj from Derby (04 June 2018)

Lovely modern lodge and ideal base for family
Julie from Grimsby (04 June 2018)

We really enjoyed the beautiful and quiet location. The lodge was perfect.
Jacqueline from Nottingham (01 June 2018)

Beautiful site. Lovely lodge. Towels and dressing gowns provided. Kitchen well equipped, but unsure why no soap was provided in the bathroom. Hot tub lovely, with gorgeous country view and very private.
Charlotte from Leicester (01 June 2018)

The lodge itself was tired and needs refreshing. The kitchen in particular was tatty and the cabinets were not good. The fridge also requires some attention. But apart from those little gripes our break was wonderful and the weather was fantastic. The cover to the hot tub was broken but didn't spoil the experience.
Ann from Barton Upon Humber, N Lincs. (25 May 2018)

Our 3rd stay at charlesworth lodges. We always enjoy it, so peaceful with lovely surroundings. Lovely big lodges. We always find the beds at most of the lodges we have stayed in uncomfortable, sometimes you can feel the springs. We always take our mattress topper now so we dont have a problem. Would recommend. Also the settees are dated now and not the most comfortable, they tend to sink in a bit. We love the hot tub and wouldn’t stay in one without one as we find it very relaxing. Cooker is slow to heat up so you have to put it on a few minutes first to heat up especially hob and grill (coombes view). if the things we mentioned were better we would give it a 10 all round. Have booked amour deluxe for next year as it is fairly new and looks lovely.
Patricia from Derby (25 May 2018)

A lovely break for our honeymoon! highly recommend really enjoyed the lodge and it’s features
James from Leicester (25 May 2018)

A beautiful lodge with a beautiful setting. Enjoyed lots of countryside walks such as coombes rock and kinder scout. Local pub a 10 min walk away. Having the hotub to relax in was just perfect!
Joanne from Derby (21 May 2018)

Absolutely lovely weekend so relaxing and staff were very welcoming.lodge was very clean and it was great things like washing up liquid, dish washer tablets ,salt pepper toilet rolls soap towels were left for us so thank you very enjoyable weekend x
Julie from Manchester (21 May 2018)

It is the most wonderful place. We have been coming to charlesworth lodges for 12 years at least twice a year. . it is so relaxing and the hot tub icing on top of the cake. . if you are looking for a truly relaxing break with wonderful views this is the place for you. . . emma and mark are the perfect hosts.
Caroline from Stamford Lincolnshire (14 May 2018)

Charlesworth lodges are situated in a beautiful part of the country and represented good value for the amenities available. easy enough to find from the directions, the approach might be a bit tricky in icy weather.
Alison from Hertfordshire (14 May 2018)

A beautiful site with clean tidy lodges have been here before. Extremely quiet and relaxing . the only issues where the small narrow bumpy road with numerous potholes leading to the lodges not the owners fault but it made hard work of days out
Debbie from Radcliffe (27 April 2018)

This accomadation is very tired and needs new furniture to bring it back to a 10. Location is down narrow pot hole lane and can be damaging to your vechile. Very quite location though
Clare from Gloucestershire (27 April 2018)

Fabulous holiday super surroundings just fabulous
Pamela (23 April 2018)

We stayed in coombes lodge no.2 it was beautiful and spacious and the hot tub was amazing with no1 over looking you as we were high up. A small site but beautiful surroundings and walkable or short drive to the local shop and pubs in the village. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.
Hannah (16 April 2018)

Had a brilliant weekend here as two couples. Lodge was stunning inside and out, lovely quiet surrounding. Hot tub was amazing! would recommend and will definetly be back soon!

My family and I (2 children 4 & 1.5) stayed in woodlands view no4, and couldn't be happier. . we found the lodge spacious, clean, and well equipped. . when we arrived the hot tub hadn't reached temperature so we were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco and we enjoyed that the following eve soaking in the tub. . only small issue we had was the remote for the blu ray player was missing, and the buttons on the unit wouldn't actually play the disks we brought for the kids, but luckily there was netflix built into the tv so that kept them happy enough. . we would definitely return in the future.

The cottage was amazing. Very beautiful, clean and modern. Location is great too, a short drive away from town and lovely views & walks around.
Sophie from Leeds (02 April 2018)

We’ve stayed here for the last 3 years and it is still fantastic. My main issues is that the prices have hiked up and the standards have slipped a little. Just attention to detail, like remote control not working, shower cubicle dirty, light hanging off, hot tub not hot on arrival. Little things, but at this price the housekeeping needs to be spot on. I would still recommend however due to beautiful surroundings.
Maria from Ilkeston (02 April 2018)

Had a really lovely mini moon in the amour deluxe log cabin. On arrival, the staff were really helpful and we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. We had such a relaxing break and would recommend to anyone.
Laura (02 April 2018)

A deep clean is desperately needed. Basic house keeping is below standard. I was very disappointed.

Perfect family break. Not to big so the children can play and make friends while you can keep an eye on them. The local village is small but has everything you need, especially the fresh food shop called the village greens (they are very friendly and helpful). . the weather was very cold so having the hot tub closer to the door would have been nice.

I surprised my partner with a 4 night break in the armour deluxe for valentines week. Beautiful location. On arrival there was a long shared narrow bumpy track with a couple of huge holes that really wouldn’t take much effort to be filled if all the houses at the end chipped in. Very nice lodge and was bigger than I was expecting. Absolutely beautiful. Since it was freezing weather and february oh and valentines no one was about so it was extremely quiet. Hot tub appeared to be well maintained and was great. The pictures on website made it look like the lodge was secluded and next to a wood. In reality all the lodges were very close together so i’m guessing in better weather not very private. Our lodge was next to a small area of trees which had access for people. All in all it was a beautiful lodge and perfect for that time of year. The only thing that let it down was there were several kitchen draws that would not stay shut and a few handles in kitchen and bedroom that were hanging off and just resting on screws to make it look intact. More than a few days there and i’d of been going crazy trying to shut them! it had been mentioned on previous reviews. It really doesn’t take long to pick up a screw driver and tighten the runners or attach the handles back on. If we had one with us we would have fixed them! having stayed in other lodges it was lacking hooks to hang dressing gowns by hot tub, hooks inside to hang coats and no where to hang towels., a form to fill for recommendations/ repairs etc would be beneficial for them also. It was still a beautiful lodge and great for that time of year just needs some tlc if it’s to keep ratings high as people do read reviews and do not want to see the same items requiring repair on each review. They were very nice staff and i’m sure if i’d of said while I was there they may of fixed the drawers but they would already be aware. However I did mention the lodge needed a shaving mirror as my partner struggled. They said they would get one at the weekend.

Lovely location lovely cabin only downside was no heating on when we arrived, not enough kitchen utensils ie no sharp knives, measuring jug, scissors, roasting pan ,small frying pan. Only two saucepans and one small milk sauce pan. Made trying to cook a christmas dinner very frustrating but still had a good time.

Stayed in the armour deluxe from 18th to 22nd december 2017. Everything about it was perfect. The cabin is really spacious and was lovely and clean throughout. I loved that there was a christmas tree all beautifully decorated! can’t fault our stay at all! we will definitely return.

Had a lovely 3 night break to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. we have stayed inj quite a few lodges now so find it quite easy to compare. coombes lodge no.1 (charlesworth lodges) was nice, cosy and relaxing. the only criticism we have is having to walk out of the main patio doors and over the decking to get to the hot tub which is located at the back of the lodge. yes, the tub is nice and private but it seems crazy having to walk back into the lodge and go through the lounge area in wet swimwear. there's not alot that can be done to change it in this lodge because of the way it is laid out. still had a great break there though.
Denise from Nottingham (18 December 2017)

Gorgeous lodges with beautiful surroundings. Less than a ten minute drive into glossop. We went the weekend before christmas and they even put a christmas tree up. Nicely decorated and the lodge itself is well equipped. Hot tub was fab too. Me and my partner both had full signal while there and wi-fi is good also. You have to go down a narrow lane to get there but we didn't have any problems. There were taxis and mini buses that got down without a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking to come back again around march 2018. Excellent value for money and would 100% recommend

Location is perfect. just 30 mins out of manchester, easy to get to yet rural and secluded - surrounding woodlands were beautiful. we were greeted by a lady who showed us to the lodge, gave a brief overview of everything we needed to know, then we were left to it. We didn't hear a peep from anybody the whole weekend, it was private and relaxing. . the hot tub was perfect, yet could have been a little hotter (it was snowing though). the bed was slightly disappointing, the mattress was so hard and the pillows and bedding felt quite itchy and cheap which isn't what you expect from a deluxe lodge - unfortunately I didn't get a good nights sleep for the duration of my stay. . the lodge itself was beautifully presented at first glance - although it could do with a few paint touch-ups and light maintenance work e.g. Bath tub - gap in the tiles behind the tub, sounds light water was leaking out; exterior of shower wall needed painting - looked half finished; kitchen draws open by themselves and you're forever walking into them - that was quite annoying etc. we drew a bath on sunday morning but it took so long and the hot water had run out by the time we had filled it. It was little things like this that took the deluxe feel away. . there was also a small issue of cleanliness - the floors were quite dusty, I knocked a glass of water over so moved the sofa slightly to clean up and it was very grimy under there, the rugs were a little crumby and very dusty underneath, the cupboards were not cleaned out properly either as it was full of the last visitor's recycling (under the cooker). I would probably say the lodges are given a quick clean after every visitor - they probably need a more thorough clean.. in comparison to other lodges I have stayed in this lodge was beautifully decorated and modern whilst keeping the cabin feel. the lodge is more impressive and bigger than the photos let on. . however to make this a "deluxe"lodge I would recommend a welcome gift e.g. Bottle of wine or tea/coffee making facilities, possibly a small selection of dvds, quality bedding and a thorough clean throughout would have improved my rating. . overall the weekend was fabulous and my criticism is only to improve for future guests. I would definitely stay here again.

The lodge was lovely. The location is beautiful and the hot tub made the stay even better. Great value for money. Would definitely go back.
Emma (01 December 2017)

Lovely lodge, clean and spacious. One of the tv's had netflix which was a nice surprise, and the hot tub was glorious. The road in to charlesworth lodges was a single dirt track for a while before you reach the gates. Not an issue at all, the place was lovely. We saw the staff very little but the ladies we met were helpful.

The cottage is stunning and very well looked after , only one thing which sounds picky but would make the hot tub use a little better if it had a roof above to shelter from the elements

Confirmed Holidaymaker (20 November 2017)

This is my 3rd stay at same location - and I would stay again. The cottage is beautiful and although you have neighbors you wouldn’t notice. Perfect for romantic getaways. I prefe the cottage to the lodges. You are not hassled by staff but they are contactable should you need them. . . location is great for walking and there is a friendly little village pub that serves food in walking distance. . . not far from manchester either should you want to go shopping.

Very cosy and comfortable, located in a lovely quiet area surrounded with lovely little pubs and shops. Would definitely come back in the future :)
Thomas from Birmingham (13 November 2017)

Arrived to a lovely warm welcome, we had everything explained to us. The lodge and hot tub did take a while to warm up but was lovely after a couple of hours. The only minor complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable we both had back ache. But after we flipped the mattress is was fine for the rest of the week.
