Peaceful holiday, the acorn lodge was right at the end of the road so no passing vehicles. Spa bath was a nice touch, especially when all we have at home is a shower. The beds were comfortable bar one, which was a little springy but not too much in a way that it bothered us. having the use of a washing machine whilst there was great too, it meant we didn't have a shed loads of washing to do on our return, we did have a slight issue with the tumble dryer stopping on us during it's 2nd use but that was the night before we left so wasn't an issue. . the only real down fall was that area's of the site are quite steep in places, the was mainly on the forest walk so we didn't really take the dogs around there as we all have mobility issues and generally need the flat, but that aside the small part that we did walk along was lovely, and can imagine the whole walk is great, especially in the summer months where wildlife spotting would be at it's greatest. . the sofa is starting to show it's a age and could do with renewing, but now with new owner's this may happen. the whole lodge has laminated flooring in the living area's and tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, the was great to keep clean, especially when we had 2 dogs, just swept away, a vacuum was supplied if needed. . beds were made up for arrival, and also 2 towels per guest were supplied which was a nice surprise too. the owner's were very nice, allowed us an early check-in and late check out as we live within 2 hrs or so of the site. this meant we got to spend the majority of saturday down and around bideford before heading home. . the local area is great - your central to explore north devon. we didn't venture as further a field as we normally would this time, and didn't really do tourist attractions. We did visit instow beach daily for our dogs to have a good run, this would take us about 10 - 15 mins. instow beach is clean and mainly flat with some sand dunes to explore too. Barnstaple is worth a trip, nice town with good shops, and also the local pannier market and butcher's row (where you can get good ol' proper clotted cream). if fish & chips are your thing, we suggest visiting trawlers in mill street, bideford town centre. excellent value for money and very generous portion sizes. There is atalantic village just outside bideford, here you'll find outlet shopping, asda and atalantis adventure park for the kids.
Nicola from Newport (08 October 2016)

A wonderful stay away from the normal hustle and bustle of day to day life. The lodge was fully equipped a real home from home, wonderful hot tub and a very quiet area. Need a car to make the most of your stay in the surrounding area but absolute bliss when returning from a day out. Well worth the visit and we will return.
Laura from Wales (08 October 2016)

Was good value for money excellent base for exploring north devon
Elizabeth from Leigh (01 October 2016)

The lodge was well equipped.very quite surroundings just what you need to relax.we took our dog millie so we really enjoyed the local dog friendly beaches at instow and westwood hoe.we would recommend these lodges to anyone who needs a nice relaxing break.
Lorraine from Hednesford (24 September 2016)

Excellent location. So peaceful and relaxing. Acorn lodge had all the mod cons but a phone signal or wifi would be another plus if it had it.
Roy from Woking (24 September 2016)

Peaceful and serene setting. Perfect escape from hectic daily life.
Gill from Southampton (10 September 2016)

Beautiful lodges in a lovely surrounding but very steep hills to get to the lodges. Great value for money.
Jessica (10 September 2016)

Beautiful remote location, amazing lodges and helpful staff on hand if there are any problems. . I would certainly recommend it and look forwards to returning.
Ian from I Would Certainly Recommend It And Look Forwards T (03 September 2016)

Excellent location, accommodation is homely, mattress could do with updating, and bigger beds. Lovely surroundings, love sitting on the veranda in the evenings. . tesco is not too far away, and it's a good base to go and explore such a lovely part of devon.
Michelle from Lovely Surroundings, Love Sitting On The Veranda I (03 September 2016)

Excellent fishing!
Edward from Meols, Wirral (03 September 2016)

A gorgeous setting but not very accessible and the cabin needed lots of tlc and updating
Kerry from Leeds (27 August 2016)

Brilliant :)
Julie (13 August 2016)

Wonderful idyllic surroundings whilst in a lodge equipped with everything you need. the hot tub was amazing too and my children couldn't get enough of it. Clean living areas, helpfulness of liz , mark and their children was second to none. Would definitely recommend thelse lodges.
Nathan from Desborough (13 August 2016)

The lodge was situated in a lovely area, unfortunately there was nothing on site or near by ie shop etc..there is no reception office to meet you on arrival and the roads to the lodge are very narrow (1 car width) and muddy. If there was facilities on site it would be a great place to come .
Karen from Northamptonshire (30 July 2016)

We stayed at bullworthy forest lodges with our 4 children aged between 8 and 11 at the end of july 2016. what a fantastic place! the lodges are fabulous and the children loved the freedom of being outdoors and in the forest, the lodge hot tub was also a big hit with everyone. the kid thoroughly enjoyed fishing on the lake just outside our lodge. happy kids, happy days!. . there is not much phone signal, 2/3/4g or wifi at these lodges but that was part of the appeal for us and we all adjusted quickly to not having the answer to everything at the touch of a button. . you feel like you are miles from anywhere in an oasis of calm in the forest but there is a tesco store only 3 miles away so you are not really that far from anywhere. we used this as a base to go surfing and body boarding but found ourselves spending much more time at the lodge that the initial plan had been when we booked it. . lovely owners who take pride in their business. very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Sarah from Essex (30 July 2016)

Bulworthy forest lodges are so secluded and peaceful, a real get away from it all break. The setting in a wooded valley is glorious and perfect for evening strolls with the kids (with the bonus of no wi-fi to distract them). even though we had rain most days while we were there it was actually really lovely sitting in the hot tub on the covered verandah listening to the soft patter of rain through the leaves. We still managed to barbecue most evenings. If we'd been by the coast it would have been a bit bleak but somehow in amongst all the greenery it really didn't seem to matter. Great base for discovering north devon. Visis to ilfracoombe and clovelley and hiring bikes to do part of the tarka trail were real highlights to our week.
Laura from Bury St Edmunds (30 July 2016)

Lodge was very comfortable, very well kept and had everything we needed for our break. Beautiful, peaceful location. Bliss! just what me and my two children needed. Already looking to return in october. Highly recommended.
Cheryl from Axminster (23 July 2016)

Beautiful place
Sian from Walsall (19 July 2016)

Very disappointed, no problem with lodge it had everything you needed. We were unhappy with where it was, out in the middle of nowhere. We did not like the fact there was nothing at all on the site, when I brought this up was told should have done your homework. There was no pub near by nothing, even when the sun shone it was so closed in with trees you did not feel it. In hind sight would have preferred to spend the money on a decent caravan on a site closer to amenities.
Brian from Dunstable (16 July 2016)

Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful and relaxing. However, we found it very dark inside the lodge due to too many trees blocking the sunlight. Also the furniture was very dated and sofa and double bed was nowhere near big enough for taller people! so could do with a few improvements in those areas. Otherwise everything else we needed was available and we found it lovely and clean and tidy.
Penny from Ashford (16 July 2016)

Wonderful setting and great first impression. We stayed in chester lodge and the cleanliness was fantastic. Lots of room inside and kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfy although a thinner duvet for summer would of helped. The view was lovely to wake up too. Hot tub was a bonus. Fishing is a must some lovely carp to be found. Very relaxing getaway and a bonus with no internet. would definitely recommend and will definitely book to stay again.
Derek from Birmingham (16 July 2016)

Second visit to bulworthy and not disappointed, love the peaceful surroundings, no phone signal and very good fishing. There seemed to be a change in the size of fish this year but that may be due to the way we were fishing, although we did not see the bigger carp on the surface. cannot comment on helpfulness of staff as we did not see anyone, one phone call made by us on the way down was the only contact that was made. I suppose this could be seen a positive as we did have to complain about anything!
Kevin from Suffolk (09 July 2016)

Great place, fab lodge. quiet setting and really away from it all but also easy to get to all the towns and places you want to visit.
Susan from Surrey (09 July 2016)

The whole area on site was let down by the litter and dog mess and the lakes are scruffy and not looked after, not a good place to go fishing.
Robert from Blyth Northumberland (09 July 2016)

Very nice location, peaceful and a great spot for fishing and wildlife spotting. . the local roads are very poor and narrow around this area and could put some people off so should be mentioned in the description. Contact details were also incorrect.
James from Dunfermline (09 July 2016)

Fantastic place and can't wait to come back . rest and perfect relaxation away from it all guarantee.
Jane from Bristol (08 July 2016)

The forest setting was lovely and so peaceful. Only saw one lady walking her dog. If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. It says lakes, i'd say ponds but pleasant to walk round.
Jane from Leamington Spa (02 July 2016)

The location was beautiful and peaceful very good if you like fishing!!. it was fairly easy to find, although there were no amenities on site , this didn't really bother us as there were supermarkets close by. The sauna was truely amazing and is well worth having. in the lodge the range of information on days out was very good, the lodge was well equipted, with good comfy furniture. sitting out on the varander was beautiful and evan visited by squirrels was a delight. The only downside for us was that we felt that the flooring let it down, it was laminate flooring which wasn't great quality and wasn't layed properly ,causing gaps and especially in the bathroom , where the sauna was , it was completely bowing, anyone who was a little more on the large side we felt would of gone through the floor causing a bad accident, maybe a good quality lino would be more efficient . we would return but only knowing that the flooring had been replaced.
Customer 28 from Cambridgeshire (25 June 2016)

Absolutely fantastic lodges, very well equipped, bigger than appear in photos, clean. Slight hot tub fault but everything was done to help us fix the problem. Only issue is the single track roads, although we knew to expect this they really are country roads!
Tamara from Thatcham (25 June 2016)

Absolutely incredible. Liz and mark were wonderful hosts. We'll be back year on year for sure.
Jack from Burton Upon Trent (21 June 2016)

Fantastic holiday accommodation in genuinely beautiful surroundings. We would definitely recommend this holiday
Robert from Belvedere (04 June 2016)

Superb location and property repair the cooker
Steven (31 May 2016)

Had a great long weekend, surroundings great, very peaceful
Jayne from West Midlands (17 May 2016)

Fab holiday. One of the best locations lodge very large . fridge to small. Tub fab.
Carole from Nottingham (14 May 2016)

As a group of 4 adults, the lodge was plenty big enough, clean and well presented. There was a couple of problems which were only minor, but they was rectified within an hour of making a phone call to the park owner. . definitely would book again, but in our interests we like to have the internet, as it was none exsistant in our oakapple lodge.
Sarah from Walsall (14 May 2016)

Our second time there. Nice location and lovely to hear the birds singing.
David from Bristol (14 May 2016)

This was our second time at bulworthy forest. lovely holiday again although this time we found the hot tub being in the enclosed gazebo was not as user friendly as the one situated on the lodge veranda, which is the only reason we have marked facilities down a bit. cannot fault the cleanliness or equipment in the lodge, we had a lovely time and will be back again.
Annie from Havant (07 May 2016)

Only reason not to go again is the roads in are so awful!!
Brenda from Gillingham Kent (30 April 2016)

Superb! very comfortable lodge with all mod cons. really clean and tidy. beautiful surroundings. so peaceful yet only a few minutes drive to bideford. fantastic walks. Will be back!
Sharon from Sidmouth (26 April 2016)

Paradise
Carole from Halesowen (23 April 2016)

The lodge and area around the lodge was great. many places to walk and explore.
Nicki from Wimborne (09 April 2016)

We found that the lodge and location were perfect for a quiet relaxing time. The hot tub was a bonus.
Tony from Feltham, Middlesex (19 March 2016)

This must now be our 3rd visit and as always a very relaxing and great escape!! . beautiful surroundings and peaceful setting just what you need to recharge your batteries. Plus the owner is always very friendly and helpful and always made time for a chat even when this is a busy time for him taken up with the lambing season. We would highly recommend a stay at bulworthy forest lodges.
Patricia from Norfolk (19 March 2016)

Peace & tranquillity at a great price. A real 'get away from it all' holiday.
Gareth from Whittington (15 March 2016)

Great lodge and setting..its out the way but that's what we wanted so top marks from us.
Oliver from Gloucester (12 March 2016)

Fantastic if you want quiet and relaxation this is the place to go
Helen from Cornwall (12 March 2016)

If you want to 'get away from it all' this is the place for you. Very quiet, remote location, no facilities, just the lodges and wildlife. Wonderful. Lodge very well equipped and lovely and warm central heating. The roads and approaches to many lodges is very steep with some almost sheer drop offs over the edge of the forest cutaway, so I am glad we did not have children with us, my nerves would have been on edge. Fishing lakes good. We went in early march so the banks were muddy, but it didn't stop us. Caught some nice fish. No wi-fi or mobile signals. Nearest tesco just 5 minutes away, a large store, very handy.
Andrew from Westbury (12 March 2016)

Bulworthy lodges are really good value for money, lovely quite location just right for a relaxing holiday. Lodges have full central heating so you are never cold, great for forest walks and towns with in easy reach. . geof the guy with the land rover is extremely helpful if you require any thing. I certainley would recommend bulworthy lodges for a holiday we have been coming here for 11 years and already booked for 2016.
Peter from Redhill (06 January 2016)

Enjoyed the peace and quiet a very relaxing time away.
Lisa from Nottingham (30 December 2015)

We had a lovely holiday at bulworthy forest lodges and would stay there again. the surroundings are lovely and it felt close to nature listening to the owls and pheasants at night. my husband enjoyed fishing the lakes, and being only a short drive from the beaches for surfing. . . the weather was terrible over christmas but the lodges were so cosy that it didn't matter. the site is very rural with single track road leading to it, so meeting other vehicles, especially farm vehicles could be tricky, but on the whole the roads were very quiet. it was about 10 minutes to the nearest tesco and 12 minutes to bideford.
Lucy from West Sussex (30 December 2015)

The location and facilities are excellent, the only down side being the wet and windy weather both in may and december...
Carne (30 December 2015)

We had a lovely holiday but when arriving we had no hot water or heating but we phoned up and someone came to fix it but through the week it kept breaking down but there was a dish washer and showers so we managed but the holiday it's self was brill christmas in woodland was so fantastic the owners even supplied us with a real christmas tree which my 6 and 3 year old thought was amazing and the hot tub was relaxing too spent most the time in that. We will be returning t his was our best christmas and the best holiday ever I think thank you to bulworthy lodges and see you again soon I hope
Rachel from Worcestershire (30 December 2015)

A lovely clean well positioned lodge. Can not fault in anyway. Brilliant hot tub.
Judy from Torquay (22 December 2015)

Utterly disappointed with our stay here, the lodges could be amazing with some effort/little money. Don't expect to find soap/cleaning materials or enough toilet roll when you arrive, needless to say there wont be tea/coffee either. Its a 20min drive to the nearest shop down a single carriage muddy road. . the is no phone signal and the broadband didn't work in any of the lodges, also expect to see hunts happening at the entrance to the site, we had to drive through a dozen vehicles which blocked the road with their 4x4's and dogs. . there are much nicer lodges to stay at.
Peter from Bournemouth (19 December 2015)

Lovely relaxing peaceful. Defiantly be back
Roseanne from Exeter (15 December 2015)

Lovely time away, perfect accommodation, beautiful surroundings, lake view, excellent directions provided as not easy to find, parking outside lodge, close to local amenities
Francesca from Somerset (01 December 2015)

Fantastic place to stay
Lucy from Bridgwater (24 November 2015)

Great place idyllic will go again
Jayne from Thatcham (21 November 2015)

Great lodges had everything we could need, super quiet and relaxing with great views
Helan from Cornwall (21 November 2015)

Just what we wanted peace and quite
Robert from Portland Dorset (21 November 2015)

Great place ,,accommodation little tired but well worth the price , will be going back ,,
Donna from Exeter (10 November 2015)

Just what we were looking for
Lynette (07 November 2015)

We booked this just as a base as we were visiting family in the area, but wish we had more time to spend at the lodge as it was a beautiful area and the lodge had everything we needed, clean and relaxing. Definitely booking again next year.
Russell from Lincolnshire (07 November 2015)

Had a brilliant time, very peaceful
Gareth from Hereford (07 November 2015)

Excellent lodges in a peaceful and relaxing forest setting.
Sandra from Worcester (31 October 2015)

This site is situated in a forest next to lakes. it was very peaceful and quiet and you could hear owls calling all night. the approach roads however are quite narrow and some of the lodges are reached by very steep drives. the lakes are also very deep so this site may not be suitable for young children who want to run around outside or people with mobility problems. but the walks through the forest are lovely and it is in a very beautiful area with towns nearby where you can buy groceries etc.
Karen from Broadway (31 October 2015)

If you want on site shops, swimming pools, entertainment etc, then go elsewhere! if you want peace and quiet in warm comfy lodges with discrete owners who pop around every now and again to see if everyone is fine, then bulworthy is the place for you. The lodges are well equipped and very clean and tidy, the fishing is handy and the pheasants noisy! this is the fourth ( or perhaps fifth!) time we have been and will be back again next year!
William from Lincolnshire (31 October 2015)

This is seconded time we've been the bulworthy lodges. We had the chestnut lodge both times and really enjoyed the peace ,quiet ,fishing too.
Wendy from Newport Gwent. (31 October 2015)

Had a lovely few days here. The lodge was really clean. Has everything you need for a stay away from home. The shower was very under powered which is our only negative! watch out for the ducks too! they even knock on your window for food! in a beautiful spot and so handy for visiting family. Will definitely come back.
Naomi from Lesmahagow - Scotland (20 October 2015)

Had a fantastic break at the chestnut lodge, very well equipped with everything we needed. This is an ideal place if wanting to escape, very peaceful, great location, lots to do and visit nearby.
Sarah from Stockton-On-Tees (17 October 2015)

We go back year after year to bulworthy, we love it. Wifi would have been nice, but not end of the world to be without for a week.
Lyn from Birmingham (17 October 2015)

Great lodges - could do with wifi
Jessica from Mancheater (13 October 2015)

Set in a secluded woodland valley this is certainly the place to be if you want to get away from it all. We spent a fabulous week in october and did plenty of walking, fishing, and touring. If you're interested in fishing then the lakes are full of roach, bream, gudgeon, and tiny perch; maggots were the preferred bait. We avoided the main lake that contains carp due to the resident ducks who practically try and take the lid off your bait boxes. There is a good tackle shop in westward ho to stock up on bait and stuff. If you're into bird watching then you won't be disappointed, I saw a kingfisher eveytime I went fishing. There was good wifi coverage in the lodge but mobile phone signal is practically non existent, which is great if you want to get away from it all but could be an issue for some people. Overall we totally enjoyed our stay here.
Dave from Machynlleth (10 October 2015)

Definitely go back!! added extras such as dish washer tablets, toilet roll. . maybe a few extra lights around site but personal opinion:)
Gemma from Chippenham (10 October 2015)

Lovely lodge really enjoyed ourselves.
Angharad from Cardiff (10 October 2015)

Great location middle of nowhere very peaceful nice little float fishing lakes on site. Great carp fishing lakes near by. Everyone's very friendly. Only down point, no complimentary tea/ coffee on arrival but other than that was great.
Tom from Leicester (26 September 2015)

Brilliant this was our fourth consecutive visit & we have already booked for 2016.
Derek from Essex (26 September 2015)

We had an enjoyable few days break. We stayed in oakapple and the lodge was very clean and well equipped. The layout was good, we particularly liked the lounge, which had a very comfortable suite and patio doors that looked out over the tree tops from the steep drop to the lodge below. the whole site was very pretty. The description for the site did say there were steep inclines and this was true. The driveway to oakapple was extremely steep and only accessible by reversing up. The hot tub was excellent, well maintained.
Karen (26 September 2015)

It was a lovely lodge. a little bit run down but still great value for money.
Lorraine (26 September 2015)

Fantastic location, peaceful surroundings, lodge was clean, tidy and had everything you needed.
Louise from Southampton (22 September 2015)

Bulworthy wasn't our first choice of accommodation, however we wanted devon location and from a tuesday until saturday as this was the only one offering this we had to take this accommodation. Firstly the place was difficult to find, the post code is around a mile away from accommodation, a sign about 5 inches long was stuck on a piece of wood which was only visible from the one direction if you have x ray vision. The lodges were in the middle of nowhere in deep forest, far away from anything, great if you like that type of thing, wonderful if you don't like day light. The lodge was fairly old, had a smell which wasn't particularly clean, which didn't go away for our stay. Water pressure was very low and took an age to fill the sink or bath for a wash, the shower was very annoying firstly red hot then would go cold at the touch of the button, take ages to get to the right temperature which is annoying when you have shampoo running into your eyes. The lodge had no wifi which isn't good in this day an age and my wife wasn't happy with no hairdryer, on the plus side if you wanted a tv their was an abundance of these, one in every room. The cooker was loose in its cabinet, needed to be secured, the washing machine made our clothes smell when we washed them, not good smelling worse than when we put them in, the lodge needs a makeover which would probably eat into the profits of the owner, however you need to keep these standards up if your a landlord of any property.the hot tub was nice however as with the lodge some of the jets didn't work and needs to be looked at, the canopy was not very clean with a lot of dirt on the windows and fairly grubby. We have stayed in similar accommodations over the years for less money and were very disappointed with our stay.
Philip from Wolverhampton (19 September 2015)

If you wont to get away from it all, this is the place for you, there is no reception, no on site facilities, just the peace and quiet of this beautiful forest setting. The lodges are clean and homely, local shops and holiday resorts are all within easy reach.
Christine (19 September 2015)

Very nice place to stay can go walking there to it is like your own place
Michael from Leicester (19 September 2015)

We had a really great time. The lodge was really nice and very comfortable. The setting was just fabulous , we only wish we could stay longer.thankyou for everything. The hot tub was lovely after we had been out allay.
Douglas from Folkestone Kent (19 September 2015)

A remote area to get away from normal everyday life. perfect for the fisherman!
Colin from Yate, Bristol (15 September 2015)

Very peaceful and quiet. Bideford only 10 minutes away. Could do with a few more fishable pegs on the ponds but fishing is ok. If you want to catch roach you may need maggots, tackle shop in bideford near pannier market.
Judith from Derby (12 September 2015)

We found the accommodation outstanding and the setting perfect. The lodge was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was "pucker" (fab). for a relaxing, quiet, peaceful break, bulworthy forest lodges is ideal. We have already booked for next year.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Southampton (12 September 2015)

The pictures paint a beautiful scene but didnt match the reality of scummy ponds not lakes. . the lodge we stayed in was dark all the time so any time we were in it we had to have the lights on. . the outdoor eating area for the lodge was squeezed into the side of the building with a view of a bbq and a hillside. . disappointing. . the best bit was how close it was to other places so we could leave for the day.
Kelly from Grantham (12 September 2015)

This was our second time here and the quality of the lodges was just as high as the first time. Very well kitted out and very clean. Excellent surroundings.
Fiona from Benfleet (12 September 2015)

We had a brilliant time at bulworthy forest lodges. The lodge was clean and cosy the site was very well kept. We would definitely recommend.
Sonia from Warwickshire (05 September 2015)

Wifi would be a big help here as the mobile signal is non existent. great to get a break from the office but sadly not when you want to contact the outside world for anything. . not much to do around the lodge, a little park would be great to keep little ones entertained. hot tub did a good job of that mind :-d
Lindsay (29 August 2015)

Lodge was good area was not
Tamara from Hereford (29 August 2015)

Very peaceful place, felt instantly away from work, as no phone signal, great, just the sounds & sights of woodland & water. . kids loved it, did a bit of fishing early evening, take muzzy repellant, caught a few roach but there are bigger carp in the main pond, better than camping & no noisy seagulls. Lodge was very well equipped but could do with an update. minor, but wardrobe doors didn't work really and when it rains everything feels a bit damp but then you are in a log cabin in the woods. In cooler weather the central heating would probably solve this but we were there in the middle of a good old warm rainy august. None of this spoilt our stay or opinion of the lodge. Had a great time, would definitely return.
Tony from Nottingham (22 August 2015)

We had a wonderful family holiday staying in 'hunters lodge' at bulworthy forest lodges. the location was amazing, our two young children loved the ducks coming up onto our balcony! the lodge was extremely clean and very comfortable. We will definitely return.
Kathryn from Stockport (15 August 2015)

Designated parking spaces would have been nice. the bath in our lodge was damaged and dangerous, the window surround was also broken. fridge was very noisy at night. . more access around the lakes would have been nice and helpful for fishing. as would seating around the lake and in the sun, as the lodge got no sun during the day.
Tony from Leicester (15 August 2015)

Absolutely fantastic place. If you want peace and quiet and a totally relaxing holiday this is the place to stay. The lodges are clean, comfortable and well equipped. There are no facilities on site but there are plenty of shops close by. Loved the fishing in the lakes and managed to catch fish most days again tackle shops close by. Would thoroughly recommend and looking to book next year.
Mandy from Beccles (15 August 2015)

Would of been nice to have at least had someone meet us on arrival to show us how things worked. We met the cleaners and the maintenance guy. This wasn't to much of a problem for us as we've stayed in many cabins but if this was our first time , I think this would of been a concern..
Tony (08 August 2015)

Excellent location being in a forest, but also just 15 minutes drive to bideford.
Peter from Morden, Surrey (08 August 2015)

Had a fantastic time . the site is idealic
Andrew (08 August 2015)

Great place although roads around very narrow single track.
Jack from Leicester (01 August 2015)

A bit difficult to get too, but that is to be expected out in the country.
David (25 July 2015)

Returned to this fantastic location after being elsewhere for 10 years just as tranquil as ever. Wonderful holiday
Wendy from Llandovery Wales (25 July 2015)

Lovely setting tranquil.. only down side were sofa to soft could do with an upgrade other then that ticked all the boxes.
Andrea from Chester (25 July 2015)

Stunning location if you like a quiet getaway but only a few miles from bideford. On arrival the lodge appeared very dated but on closer look it was outstandingly clean and extremely well equipped.
Kimberley from Bath (25 July 2015)

Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. We are not fishermen but loved the lakes and walks. . . once you get your bearings, everything is pretty easy to find. Had some great days out as this is quite a central location. . . would definitely recommend.
Peter from Clacton, Essex (25 July 2015)

2nd year in the same lodge and just as good as last year, very peaceful just what we like
Amie from Peterborough (25 July 2015)

What a perfect holiday! wonderful location, helpful staff and faultless accommodation. I can't wait to come back!!
Lianna from Littlehampton (14 July 2015)

Lovely peaceful setting to get away from it all!
Ss (11 July 2015)

If you want a relaxed break and you take food supplies you can stay here in peace and quiet with everything you need in a spacious lodge. The hot tub is an added bonus. Would love to visit again
Customer 109 from Bristol (11 July 2015)

Great little break, so peaceful! would recommend!
Kerri from Torquay (07 July 2015)

Lovely lodge and beautiful location. Will definitely go there again,
Tracey from Newport (04 July 2015)

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the lodge (otters holt) and it was lovely again! my husband and father in law fished on the main pond every day and were never disappointed, although they did mention that a few more pegs would be good. The pond is packed with fish! the staff we saw were always friendly and helpful. We would have liked wifi in order to contact people at home as mobile signal is non-existent. The only issue we had was some noise from the lodge next door who had children however this is not the fault of the lodges.
Ellen from Barnsley (04 July 2015)

Great place to stay. Very secluded, but only a 5 min drive to bideford for all necessary amenities. Great beaches nearby. Bluebell lodge was very large, easily accommodating 5 adults,1 child, and a baby. Fishing pools were very well stocked, a real bonus for a 4 year old learning to fish with his grand-dad for the first time!
Gavin from Bewdley (27 June 2015)

The lodge was very clean and tidy, furniture was in excellent condition and very well equipped . the location was very peaceful amongst plenty of woodland, a family of ducks greeted us every morning, squirrels and even deer in the woods. The lakes were very close to our lodge and fishing was very relaxing. Some better swims on the lakes for fishing would have been good! I would come again! the lodges were very secluded but within a five minute drive of towns and beaches. lots of steps so not ideal for very small children. We came home feeling very relaxed after a very enjoyable week.
Louise from Norwich (27 June 2015)

Quite and so nice to be in the lodges and the lakes are full of good size fish the only bait I used was bread will def go back to this place
John from Oxford (20 June 2015)

Fantastic
Andy from Wakefield (20 June 2015)

Need to remove the crayfish from the ponds so you can fish crayfish free
Glen (20 June 2015)

Went here on a family holiday with our one year old and stayed in acorn lodge, although no child facilities on site the forest walks there was a challenge but fun for all. Perfect holiday for those that want to escape phone calls and emails as no signal at all however just a mile down the road signal returns. Very private, clean and roomy lodge and made to feel cozy. We loved this holiday so much we plan to return later this year
Hanna from Benfleet (13 June 2015)

Beautiful location and felt like the only lodge as trees blocked the view of others, which was nice. Not very far from local towns for shops and restaurants either. Would definitely book again!
Charlotte from Peterborough (13 June 2015)

Excellent week away from it all. If you want to get away from everything this is ideal. Fishing is excellent too. Best roach fishing I have had for years. Took a while to find the way to catch the carp but bagged two double figured fish late in the week. Next time should be fun. Will definitely go back.
Kevin from Suffolk (13 June 2015)

It was a superb holiday , we had a lovely time , it was peacefull place , no noise only the sound of the birds singing , the hot tub was the icing on the cake , we used it everyday , well recommended to stay here
Muriel from Poole (06 June 2015)

A lovely place, clean accommodation and great hot tub! would go back
Laura from Thirsk (30 May 2015)

If you want to do nothing else but relax and fish with no disturbance from the outside world this is the place for you.
Dawson from Boston Lincs (30 May 2015)

The surroundings and hot tub facilities were good. On the last day we had no hot water or heating as oil had run out. The cooker fan could only be operated by using the switch located above the extracted fan! the sofas smelled awful and were very tired looking. The showers were low powered and temperature had temperature fluctuations. The fridge didn't have all compartments so lacked storage capacity. I could go on and on but I will say we will not be coming back for just the hot tub and nice surroundings as these were the only endearing factors of the cabin and location.
Matthew from Wolverhampton (30 May 2015)

Incredibly relaxing. A beautiful part of the world. Very helpful people and the lodges are very well equipped. I can't wait to go back
Rebecca from Cambridge (30 May 2015)

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The views and walks were wonderful.
Lisa (23 May 2015)

This is a beautiful place but definitely not for children, I wouldn't of booked it had I known about the sudden drops 7 steps from the lodge door!
Confirmed Holidaymaker (23 May 2015)

Another lovely stay, in peaceful and tranquil surroundings, within a few miles of great beaches and many attractions.
Samantha from Oxford (23 May 2015)

Location and surroundings superb, yes, lanes leading to site narrow, but if you want peace and tranquility, you put up with that ! the lodge was huge and superbly equipped and in excellent position.the 2 youngest members would of liked internet but otherwise couldn't fault it
Andrew from Maidstone (23 May 2015)

Our lodge was ready on our arrival and was spotlessly clean. Having stayed here last year we knew what to expect. The main purpose of this holiday was fishing so it was much better to have a lodge right on the lake. The only downside is that parking is a bit restricted.
Pat (23 May 2015)

Generally very pleased with accommodation. the water pressure in shower very poor, otherwise great location.
Penny from Chesterfield (16 May 2015)

Everything you want on a holiday in the uk
Galvin from Hayes (16 May 2015)

Beautiful location, quiet, peaceful, and a great experience. If you want to get away from it all, this is perfect. Hot tub sealed the deal.
Gareth from Lichfield (12 May 2015)

Peaceful. Stayed in the foxglove lodge with out two children aged 4 and 18 months. Lodges are in the middle of nowhere which we knew before we booked. Hot tub on the deck was lovely. Weather was not great and rained a lot, however the hot tub is on the deck which is completely covered. We had trips out to local seaside towns and went to the big sheep which is about 20mins drive. There is nothing on site which is great. Foxglove is right at the top which is great. Although the other lodges are nearby I didn't notice other people and everything is quiet. . the lodge itself was fantastic. Big table and comfy old sofas. Cooking appliances and equipment were good. Beds all comfy and a bath and two showers we good too. . tesco is around 10 mins drive away so it's easy to nip out. Sat nav took us as far as webbery cross and then we followed the directions given to us before arrival. . all in all a great break and our 4 year old didn't want to leave. She even left a lovely note for the owners when we left. I would recommend this place and would love to return. Although the drive from manchester was not easy!!. . thanks
Scot (09 May 2015)

Lovely setting and the lodge is lovely, warm and clean. Beds a little uncomfortable. Have stayed in lots of lodges and would definitely book again. Owners most welcoming.
Anne from Abingdon (09 May 2015)

Great one week stay
Carol from Cannock, Staffs. (09 May 2015)

Fantastic location, beautiful lodge and amazing hot tub! the inside of the lodges just need a bit of tlc. Would definitely come again.
Clare (05 May 2015)

Fishing lake far to small very deceiving from the picture and unable to walk anywhere as it was set on a very steep hill
Alan from Essex (05 May 2015)

This lodge is probably the most private of the lot would recommend anyone to stay here for a quiet relaxing holiday or weekend away
Andrew from Stoke On Trent (05 May 2015)

Had a great relaxing holiday, lots to see and enjoy in this lovely part of devon .
Graham from West Wales (02 May 2015)

Amazing place to stay, this was out second stay here and it is still the best holiday we've ever had. No phone signal is pure bliss. In the forest but within 10 mins to the nearest town. Lodges are equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. We will return again soon.
Nicola from Isle Of Wight (02 May 2015)

Lovely well equipped lodge. Would like to have been supplied with more than 1 towel though as there is also a hot tub at the lodge. Shower wasn't very powerful but apart from that the lodge was brilliant and really clean. . there are very narrow hilly roads to get to it but certainly worth it. Would stay here again.
Amanda from Kings Lynn (02 May 2015)

Very nice relaxing break. Beautiful surrounding, I would definitely return.
Pete from Surrey (25 April 2015)

A lovely time spent at bulworthy. Thank you.
Rick from Epsom (18 April 2015)

Relaxing, peaceful and a hot tub, everything a holiday should be. Perfect.
Darren from Somerset (18 April 2015)

Lovely & peaceful holiday with the children.
Rebecca from Kent (14 April 2015)

Some notes were left handwritten for collection when we finished our holiday. However the remote location was very suitable for our relaxing break(no mobile signal peace and quite). windy roads are part of the fun.
Amanda (11 April 2015)

Beautiful, peaceful, clean and friendly. Great place to relax and only a 10 minute drive to bideford and the surrounding area. Lots to do in the area for children and adults alike. Will be going back for sure!
Paul from Leicester (11 April 2015)

Very good shame no internet or phone signal
Michael from Bridgwater (07 April 2015)

Great getaway from it all
Karl from Hereford (04 April 2015)
