Beautiful location, quite remote and the drive from the main road was not for the faint hearted. Lodge was immaculate and extremely well equipped. Countryside was amazing and location was a great base to visit devon and cornwall.
Liz from Kings Lynn (31 August 2018)

Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting
Matt from Milton Keynes (31 August 2018)

If you are looking for a holiday to get away from the crowds the internet and your phone and enjoy the piece and quiet then bulworthy lodges is very good quiet location. Tucked away in the woods the lodges are comfortable and of a good standard with all the equipment you would need. The site is not for those with families who look for on site facilities e.g. Shop, play parks, and an entertainment programme. the nearest town is bideford about a 10 minute drive or barnstable about 15 - 20 minutes drive. It should be noted that once off the main roads the roads/lanes that take you to bulworthy lodges are in places quite narrow single track with passing points.
Graham from Dunstable, Beds (27 August 2018)

Another excellent weeks stay at bulworthy forest lodges and this time in larches. The children love it here and in beautiful surroundings too. The rooms were excellent and everything we needed was available.
Nathan from Desborough (25 August 2018)

Beautiful lodges in beautiful surroundings . couldn't fault the place.
Karen (25 August 2018)

The place smelt of dogs we were bitten by fleas
Michael from Malvern (24 August 2018)

Beautiful lodges surrounded in your very own forest. Well equipped oakapple lodge with peacful and wonderful views.
Emma from Warwickshire (18 August 2018)

The park is tricky to find the satnav postcode isn't accurate. Once found completely taken aback with the beautiful scenery and tranquil location. Ideal holiday for getting away from everything and just chilling out.
Lynne from Purton (17 August 2018)

Amazing place and certainly a place to unwind as very little phone signal and no wifi. Lovely accommodation and perfect for a family. Will definitely be going back!
Elaine from Winchester (11 August 2018)

Beautiful place lovely and quiet
Matthew from Uckfield (10 August 2018)

A comfortable lodge set in beautiful forestry. Lots of places to visit nearby, the men and children in our party enjoyed the fishing lake and caught huge carp. Lovely walks to take our dogs on.
Joanne from Derby (04 August 2018)

Lovely lodge and hottub. Kids did get bored as obviously not much to do on site for them and have to drive lots to get to places. Lovely and peaceful though.
Zoe from Winchester (04 August 2018)

Good
Robert (03 August 2018)

Very peaceful an ideal base for north devon. Great for fishing.
Paul from Ludlow (03 August 2018)

Very clean. Had all we needed
Kevin from Peterborough (28 July 2018)

Lid to hot tub very difficult to remove and needed replacing. Stairs in lounge to upper floor rediculous and not safe, shower screen in bathroom broken and raised flooring doorframes to downstairs bedrooms unacceptable needs attention
Gary from Yeovil (28 July 2018)

Spacious, tranquil peaceful comfy apart from 1 of the double beds. Lodges private and not too close to each other.
Jean from Plymouth (21 July 2018)

This holiday was exactly what we were hoping for. Peace and quiet, couldn’t find a single fault with anything.
Emma from Truro (20 July 2018)

A beautiful shady quiet place, reached by tiny lanes, so suited to the smaller car. Lovely walks, quite steep,so good exercise, and a real change for our norfolk legs.
Penny (16 July 2018)

Lovely lodge. Very clean and well equipped. everything was perfect! hot tub is the best we have ever used, we really enjoyed using the bbq, surroundings lovely. Not too far to travel to explore different beaches.
Annette from Wrexham (14 July 2018)

A beautiful setting and well equipped and spotlessly clean lodge.
Vicki from Stoke On Trent (13 July 2018)

Amazing place loved it
Karen (13 July 2018)

Apart from the fridge being too small, the overall experience with the added bonus of the jacuzzi was really.
Alan from Bracknell (13 July 2018)

Lovely clean lodge, home from hme, it was very relaxing and peaceful, surroundings were fabulous
Janet from Bournemouth (07 July 2018)

Had a great time very dog friendly would go back again

The most relaxing holiday ever . great location lodge clean and well presented excellent
Teresa from Southampton (06 July 2018)

Loved our holiday lodge, it was in the perfect location and had lovely facilities! really enjoyed ourselves and great value for money.
Lucy from Sandhurst (06 July 2018)

A well equipped lodge in beautiful surroundings
Susan (06 July 2018)

A bit off the beaten track but a very comfortable relaxing location, having the glorious weather was a bonus
Barry from Brampton (30 June 2018)

Lovely quiet getaway. We stayed in rosebay which was perfect for our needs with the dog. Only improvement might be having a designated enclosed area to let the dogs off the lead on site or within walking distance but instow beach is a 10min drive and is super dog friendly. Very relaxing and beautiful.
Anneliese from Stroud (29 June 2018)

Fabulous lodges in beautiful surroundings. perfect peace if this is what you’re after. friendly and helpful staff. We have booked again already. The peaceful environment.
Kim (24 June 2018)

Our third time staying here and each year has been as enjoyable as the last.
Cathy from Portsmouth (23 June 2018)

If you want an out of the way holiday this is great. you get wonderful views but it is very hilly and the single track road leading to the site is not what most people view as the usual driving experience. . my chalet was clean and had everything I needed as regards kitchen equipment. Salt and pepper would have been nice and the pans were a bit past their best but still adequate.
Suzanne from Cambridge (22 June 2018)

Mark and liz very helpful as offered to get bits for us as we had no transport for part of the holiday. location can be hilly but lovely forest walks, some bits over grown though and do watch out for the horse flies. . hot tub and accommodation excellent.
Ann from Bristol (16 June 2018)

If you want a holiday that's right of the beaten track then this is the place for you.we personally found it to isolated and the roads leading to the lodges were so narrow that we found ourselves always trying to squeeze into the grass verges to allow traffic to pass.
Christine from Hoddesdon (16 June 2018)

Absolutely amazing, scones, jam & cream, tea & milk on arrival. Beautiful surroundings with pheasants walking round and squirrels jumping from tree to tree. Kids loved it and the hot tub was so clean and fresh. Everything from shops, beaches and children's parks are all 10 minutes drive away. Can't wait to be back!
Lydie (15 June 2018)

Beautiful lodges in the middle of no-where. Immediate area around most lodges is flat so suitable for those with disabilities but the hills and paths are very steep so as they say please talk to them if you have specific requirements. I loved the peace and quiet. They are ideal for a base as there are lots of places to visit nearby or just for a relaxing break away.
Christine (11 June 2018)

Clean but cheese on oven shelf and corners of rooms dusty.exteriir would benefit from good brush and exterior furniture very tired and rough around edges.
Lisa (11 June 2018)

The cottage was lovely , it was very clean and spacious and had everything you need inside ,but was disappointed with outside only a hard bench to sit on , I did request better chairs but told no. My husband very disappointed with fishing lakes they needed fishing stages, the trees needed cutting back (there were floats stuck in most trees) more management. Never saw any staff apart from hot tub being attended to
Celia from Beccles (09 June 2018)

Lovely location. Perfect if you have a dog. The only thing I would say is a few more signs up to say whether or not u can walk in various places, and perhaps a few routes to walk. if there was a leaflet stating where you can walk with your dog it would definately improve the camp. No phone signal or wifi is perfect as you really get to unwind. And if you like fishing there is 3 lovely ponds to catch carp etc.
Serena (08 June 2018)

Lovely location, lodges are clean. Nice place to relax.
Gloria from Pontypridd (04 June 2018)

The lodge was clean and well equipped. The surroundings were lovely. The only issue was the poor phone and wi-fi connections. This did not spoil the holiday as the lodge was such a great place to unwind
Sharon from Milton Keynes (02 June 2018)

It was a lovely lodge and the setting was great for wildlife and peace and tranquility. plenty of room inside the lodge. The roads leading to it are single track so if you are a nervous driver it’s not for you, saying that everyone is very good when it comes to passing. Location is fairly near amenities like supermarkets and other shops and beaches not far. the spa pool was fabulous and great as it is covered so even when it rains it ok. There is also a bbq if you fancy using it. Tvs in most rooms is a nice feature too.
Diane from Worthing (02 June 2018)

Really lovely holiday and genuinely dog friendly
Jo from Leicester (26 May 2018)

A restful and peaceful location very narrow roads to get to the location which ought to be referred to in the brochure. overall though the location is beautiful
Edward from Ripon (26 May 2018)

Absolutely amazing place to stay, will defiantly be back next year !
Sebastian from Wimborne (25 May 2018)

Stunning location, peaceful and a great lodge
Haley from Somerset (20 May 2018)

Wonderful!!! . we enjoyed every moment off our holiday with bulworthy forest lodges and can't wait to return. . the lodge was super clean equipped with everything you need and more. On arrival we had scones & milk waiting for us :) lovely scenery surrounding. Overall rating would have been a 10 but just the 1 bed was a little lumpy and uncomfortable. Other than that the holiday was amazing & I can't wait to return. Thank you liz & mark.
Louise from Northwich (19 May 2018)

Lovely holiday location, although we took our life in our hands everytime we left the site.mark ,liz, and especially wilf the dog very helpful.
Kevin from Bideford Devon (19 May 2018)

A very pleasant, no nonsense holiday location. The log cabin was not the height of luxury, but neither was the cost, so balanced out fairly well. . we had no need to seek any help, so didn't really use any staff as such, so difficult to comment - but did see them when they cleaned the hot-tub.
Anthony from Axminster (19 May 2018)

Lovely woodland setting with plenty of walks around and about. Close to several small towns and pretty villages. Very comfortable, fully fitted out log cabin. The sauna was an added extra (if we'd wanted it). all in all a lovely holiday destination; would return.
Joanne (18 May 2018)

It would be more comfortable if there was a smother path between the lodge and the hot tub with a shelter over the top
Lynn from Exeter (30 April 2018)

Lovely and peaceful location. Off the beaten track. Lodge and hot tub very nice. Parking for a couple of cars. If you are visiting in summer months take plenty of mosquitoe repellent as the lodge is by a river and there are an abundance of the critters.
Pol from Portsmouth (30 April 2018)

Lodge was lovely & clean too. luckily we got a good price because if the time of year otherwise I think they’re quite pricey. Can’t fault it though. Nothing in the area, you need to drive out to go anywhere.
Chantelle from Swindon (30 April 2018)

Nice place shame about no heating on the first night
Simon from Halwill Junction (30 April 2018)

Very peaceful & relaxing stay. Comfortable lodge & enjoyable hot tub. Very helpful owner,[mark]. would definitely recommend.
Gill (23 April 2018)

It was a beautiful place nice and quite lovely walks stunning lodge
Joanne from Swansea (22 April 2018)

Loved it very relaxing will go again
Brian from Northampton (20 April 2018)

The lodge was very clean, well equipped and welcoming. The location was very quiet, rural and well maintained. You just have to be a little brave on the public road to get to the site.
Claudia from Basingstoke (20 April 2018)

The most relaxing peaceful holiday to date! the cabin was so fresh, light and clean and the hot tub was fabulous. It was wonderful staying in a peaceful pine forest with just the sounds of wildlife around you, and not too far away from the shops and beaches. Both our dogs thoroughly enjoyed it too!
Philippa from Andover (20 April 2018)

Lodge was a bit tired looking. tv remote didnt work, quite basic facility. . settee and chair extremely soft !. . didnt realise how far from the nearest town it was. . very peaceful though!
Lyn from Hampshire (16 April 2018)

When I go anywhere..esp for a meal. .i judge a place by the toilets..along with other things..general house keeping!!.i took my wife on a surprise 60th birthday with my son and his wife and stayed at the oakapple lodge. All was fine apart from the main toilet..it didn't flush properly..not even a single piece of paper...let alone anything else!!!..the is not fit for purpose..it does not work and I can't be the first person to point this out to you..not acceptable at all.
Steve (16 April 2018)

The location was nice, nice lakes with fish and the walks were nice. The accommodation however.. not great.
Danny from Gloucester (15 April 2018)

We have stayed here before about 2 years ago and loved it then too. It is peaceful with beautiful surroundings and wildlife and the hot tub is great at the end of a day exploring the area. liz and mark are very friendly and are straight there when you need help. our washing machine blew up and they replaced it so quickly. can't fault them at all.
Emily from Kent (13 April 2018)

Lovely warm lodge, nice to sit on the swing seat with a glass of wine watching the wildlife. Excellent clean peaceful site.
Kay from Bury (02 April 2018)

This is a lovely spot to stay it is very hilly so no good if you can't get about you need the car to go anywhere, but it is really lovely lots of wild life to see and if you like to walk it's got some good walks.
Karen (02 April 2018)

Perfect for complete getaway
Jackie (02 April 2018)

Second time we have stayed, really relaxing
David from Gloucester (30 March 2018)

Lovely, but would have been nice if welcomed in person
Kim (26 March 2018)

Gorgeous lodge with amazing views, great for fishing and nature lovers.
Angela from Wsm (26 March 2018)

We absolutely adore this place .so beautiful and relaxing .
Sharon from Salisbury (23 March 2018)

Wonderful location, lodge warm and cozy, lots of walking areas around the lodge. We were there during the snow fall, it was magical an ideal place to relax yet plenty to do around you if you want to. Excellent value money would highly recommend.
Alan (23 March 2018)

Lovely place for a relaxing break.
Debbie (23 March 2018)

A very nice setting. We spent 3 nights there.
Jason from Bristol (19 March 2018)

We stayed in the sycamore lodge for a weekend. it is a most peaceful and relaxing place with beautiful woodlands surroundings. the lodge was totally private. the lodge itself was very comfortable and cozy with everything there that could be needed during our stay. we went on a very cold and snowy weekend but felt totally snug inside the lodge. although not guaranteed we did manage to get wifi. you must remember to connect to this first as the wifi is not automatic. the bathroom was large bright and airy with a large jacuzzi bath. the bedroom was also very comfortable. We had a trip into westwood ho which is one of the closest seaside towns. that too was a lovely place. We hope to return to bulworthy forest lodges later this year and I would highly recomment them to you.
Joanne from Dudley (19 March 2018)

We rented sycamore for a midweek break in march. We had not previously been to bulworthy. Earlier reviews suggested that we needed 4 wheel drive to reach the lodge. In the event, there was no problem getting up the steep bits in low gear in a run of the mill hatchback. Be aware though, the site is in the countryside so don't book unless you are comfortable with single track roads. There is no on site reception as such so we were quite tickled to find the key in the door when we arrived. Inside, the lodge is well fitted out. The main room is an adequate size, though the tv area has an armchair and two seater settee so four adults would fid it a bit of a squeeze. We found pillows were firmer than we were used to so maybe take one of your own if this is a concern. The lodge is set a few metres up the valley bank and there is a modest unguarded drop across the road that is a reason for the child gate on the veranda! outside at night all we could see was the two parking lights - good torches are highly recommended.
T C from Yeovil (16 March 2018)

Excellent spotlessly clean accomodation in nice quiet location, very well equipped with everything we needed - couldn't fault it. Managers very friendly and helpful - there when needed but not overbearing - just right. Price affordable to us in march though we couldnt afford to stay here at summer season prices. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely recommend this holiday accomodation to others and will also return ourselves when next holidaying in the area.
Gill from Bath (16 March 2018)

Lovely location.
Janette (16 March 2018)

Had a great time. the location was perfect and quiet. Local facilities within easy reach.
Nigel from Hereford (16 March 2018)

Really lovely peaceful setting.( patching phone signal so definitely a turn off life break) great spacious lodge, good facilities, owners really helpful- posted a couple of left items to use with no problem. All ages had fun, including teens.
Caroline (12 March 2018)

Lovely area. lovely cottage. Not new but clean and has everything you need. Quiet and peaceful break away. Hunters lodge has a lovely direct view of the lake.
Daniel from Wiltshire (12 March 2018)

Had a wonderful time quiet and peaceful beautiful location cabin was next to a lake which was frozen over on arrival lovely woodland walks this place would be even more beautiful in summer smell of the pine trees was lovely this site is located well out in the country woodlands and plenty of wildlife to look out and se there is fishing in the lakes but you req a national fishing licence to fish there our cabin didn't have a hot tub or wi fi but log cabins further up in the woods had it would highly recommend a hot tub and wi fi with cabin on any visit
Paul from Cornwall (09 March 2018)

If you want to take time out this is best place to go, surroundings are beautiful and the only noise you will hear is the wildlife which is amazing. The log cabins are beautifully fully furnished with more than needed and are very luxurious. The owners are very helpful and approachable and rectify any issues immediately.
Pennie from West Sussex (09 March 2018)

Had an amazing time
Lindsey from Southampton (05 March 2018)

Stunning place to stay, dogs loved it. Owners are very nice people.
Jennifer from Cornwall (02 March 2018)

Absolutely stunning cottage and surroundings cottage had everything you need spacious and warm hot tub lovely and staff friendly and helpful definitely be going back
Marian from Rowley Regis (23 February 2018)

I booked this stay for a weekend away with the girls for my birthday! it could not have been anymore of what I wanted! the views and location was amazing! the lodges were homely and warm and catered for everything you required and more! and as for the hot tub it was superb, perfect way to relax and enjoy quality time with my nearest and dearest!! will defiantly be going back, was sad to leave!
Nicki from Poole Dorset (18 February 2018)

Had a wonderfull stay during the feb half term - lovely spacious lodge, very clean and great value. Will definately be booking again.
Customer 88 from London (17 February 2018)

The lodge was lovely, warm and cosy and contained all the essential equipment for our stay. the location was beautiful and peaceful. . . I would however like to comment on the access. I understood that the route in and out of the site was narrow and in places steep, but I had not bargined on quite how steep. there is very little mention of this on the website through which I booked, and only a few of the reviews I looked through mentioned it. . . we were in sycamore, which appears to have no dedicated parking bay other than the car width road directy in front of it. a 2/3 point turn was required at the entrace to get up the incredibly steep drive to the lodge. getting out was frankly white knuckle as from inside the car, the drive was so narrow, you could not see the edge or near vertical drop beyond, and again several point turns were required at the bottom of the hill to return to the main complex road. we were glad to have brough our 4x4 as our noramal car would have really struggled. . . if we came again to bulworthy forest lodges, I would not chose sycamore. . . also, I think it would be quite useful to attach a clearer site map to the joining instructions. detail on the one sent to us was barely visible, apparently showiung a circular driveway, which infact it isn't.
Rachel (16 February 2018)

Had a great time. Lodge was very warm, clean, cosy and had everything you needed. Staff were very friendly. Hot tub was great! very private peaceful spot. We even had a cream tea waiting for us when we arrived!lots of clean towels and fleecy blankets and hot water. Wished we had stayed longer. Would definitely recommend.
Suzie from Devon (12 February 2018)

We had such a nice weekend in bulworthy! the lodge was so cosy and clean, and the surroundings were lovely. We hadn’t seen any reviews beforehand so didn’t know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The lodge and the surrounding areas were lovely, I wish we’d booked a whole week there! i’d recommend turning up during daylight though as we arrived quite late and the roads aren’t very well lit.
Jenna from Chelmsford (11 February 2018)

Another great holiday, stayed in larches lodge. Comfortable but could do with refurnishing and modernising. I’ve been coming to these lodges with my familyfor 11 consecutive years and there’s not been much change in all that time. Having said that the new owners are slowly getting there with replacing white good etc and bringing the lodges a bit more up to date. Unfortunately we won’t be going back this new year as my family have allergies to dog hair andmost of the lodges (not all)are now pet friendly, which is such a shame. If your looking for a relaxing , rural out of the way retreat with limited phone signal and wifi to get you off the grid this is the place for you! happy to recommend, maybe one day we will be back.
Simon from Peacehaven (06 January 2018)

We went here for christmas it was great nice and relaxing my 2 young daughter's enjoyed the hot tub we all did and the wildlife was amazing the lodge was great spacious and there was everything you'd need it was amazing and this was our second visit and I can say we will defiantly be returning
Rachel from Worcester (30 December 2017)

Excellent. I would highly recommend staying here.
Jamie from Plympton (23 December 2017)

Idyllic location for our mid winter break - loved being in the middle of the woods. Site is well laid out, each lodge not too close to another and site not too big. Our lodge seemed to be in process of an update, what has been done is really nice, but still some updating to be done to bring it up to standards of other similar places we've stayed in. . small welcome pack with milk was appreciated. Nice walks around the woods and the hot tub was excellent for chilling out in after. . look forward to staying again!
Elizabeth from Bath (18 December 2017)

Was a very lovely lodge indeed and well worth the money, however the road leading to the lodges is very poor and not that easy for non 4x4 's to use .a single track with not many areas to pass and I had an incident with slme horses where my car was dsmaged.
Ralph from Bath (11 December 2017)

Beautiful location, nice clean cabins with the added extra of a hot tub. Can’t wait to return in july..oh and the gorgeous home made scones, jam and proper devon clotted cream on arrival was a nice little treat.
John from Lancashire (10 December 2017)

Beautiful lodge in beautiful setting. The lodge had everything you could possibly need. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise. would say to anybody interested just book a holiday at bulworthy forest lodges.
Richard from West Sussex. (04 December 2017)

Fantastic location for our short honeymoon, the accommodation was first class and suited us with plenty of locations for walking with our spaniel and a warm and cozy lodge to return to.
Rob from Cardiff (02 December 2017)

Out of season holiday but still able to find places to go. We wanted peace and we got it. Lodge comfortable and warm. The hot tub brilliant. My brother managed to break a couple of things, staff very understanding and repairs very quickly dealt with.
June from Worcester (01 December 2017)

Lovely location. Lovely lodge with easy to use appliances and instructions. Everything you need is provided. Very happy
Katie (27 November 2017)

Our second visit and it was exactly as we hoped it would be. We will go back soon.
Andrew from Bedworth (26 November 2017)

Great place to go to 'escape' ! lodge was basic, but clean and well maintained and the little extras (like coffee and a little cake on arrive) were a really nice touch. You do need a decent car for the country lanes etc as it is a little out of the way, but this just added to the charm for us. If looking for a holiday park type setting, then this is not for you. But if you want beautiful and peaceful surroundings in which to recharge, at a great price, then it's a winner!
Eve (20 November 2017)

We had a wonderful peaceful and relaxing week and would not hesitate to stay there again
Deanne from Bournemouth (18 November 2017)

Amazing holiday. Everything was perfect. Looking to book again
Joanne from Blaenavon (17 November 2017)

Wonderful peaceful break at a very reasonable price! brilliant thank you! will definitely be returning next year
Dan from Weston-Super-Mare (14 November 2017)

Absolutely loved staying & didn’t want to leave.. will be booking to stay again.
Andrew from South Petherton (14 November 2017)

A lovely peaceful setting to just unwind and relax.
Emma from South Petherton (10 November 2017)

Great set up and location. Wish the hot tub had of been set up and ready but other than that it was perfect! home made scones with clotted cream and jam were such a great treat! just wish they were bigger . great stay thank you.
Steven from Durham (05 November 2017)

Lovely setting in quiet woodland . staff very helpful had issue with cooker but sorted quickly and very pleasant to deal with .
Darren (31 October 2017)

Nice and warm inside, hot tub great, shame about the muddy narrow roads, but that's a small price to pay for tranquility.
Mike from Helston (30 October 2017)

Lovely clean lodges and surroundings areas
Simon from Reading (29 October 2017)

Lodge was excellent &photo online was right, reason for picking the rosebay. I am disabled chronic pain back etc. &walking ltd. ,park the car just outside lodge entrance, brillianta downside was the road ,so many potholes, etc.,didn't do me any good but that me, a trouble free person would not be a problem .
Derek from Portsmouth (28 October 2017)

Peaceful and tranquil, if that's what you are looking for in a holiday, then this is definitely the place to go. Stunning surroundings, beautiful and well equipped lodge and helpful staff at hand. We had a wonderful time and hope to go back some time.
Samantha from Essex (28 October 2017)

Lovely location down quiet country roads. Plenty of wildlife about on site. Lodge very clean on arrival, although door mat could do with being a tad larger when the weather is not so good, especially when coming back in with a dog.
Alexander (20 October 2017)

We really enjoyed the lodges - they had pretty much everything that we needed
Jo from Devon (20 October 2017)

Not much around but it's nice to be in the middle of nowhere.
Melissa from Bristol (17 October 2017)

Amazing holiday and location and the staff were so friendly. Unfortunately our lodge had quite a bit of damage inside with various items not working, and when mentioned was told the lodge was having a refurb the following month, which I thought was great but slightly disappointed in paying full price for half the experience.
Sean (14 October 2017)

Myself, my other half, his sister and her dog stayed in oakapple during the first week of october, upon arrival there was a note at the door (no reception to check in or anything, just rock up to the cabin and let yourself in - I absolutely loved that) which was a welcome note and outlined the basics. In the kitchen there was a cream tea with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, scones, clotted cream and jam, which was an amazing touch!. the first thing that I noticed was the impeccably spotless state of the whole cabin, it was incredibly clean and I couldn't fault them at all (and I was a professional cleaner!). I did no meet liz myself, but my other half did and he said she was really nice. My sister-in-law and I met mark a few times and he was very helpful - he even gave us some crayfish that he caught in the pond for us to cook and and try! mark and liz were both readily available if we needed anything, but did not bother us at all for our entire stay, it is a very independent place. The location is stunning, the forest walks are gorgeous especially in autumn as the leaves start to change colour. There is a tesco 10 minutes up the road on the outskirts of bideford which was very handy. All in all, an amazing week and we definitely plan to re-book for next year!
Katie from Chulmleigh (07 October 2017)

Lovely peaceful place. Welcoming cream tea a great idea. . will be returning next year.
Angela from Worcester (07 October 2017)

The cabin was great the fishing was good walks were good the only thing wrong was I booked this for a relaxing holiday the piece and quiet the fishing and mainly because it said it had a hot tub this was the main reason I booked it but when we went use the hot tub they said the cabin didn't come with a hot tub even though it was there we were very disappointed . I would wave booked somewhere else if I had known
Daryl (07 October 2017)

Lodge good but to remote. Electric shower waste of time.
John D (07 October 2017)

Set well into the forest, fishers wood is a lovely quiet secluded place. A cream tea and all the makings for a cuppa awaited us when we arrived. Clean, spacious lodges, home from home.
Brian from Torpoint (07 October 2017)

Amazing place and amazing people who run it
Leanne from Yeovil (02 October 2017)

We have stayed at this site on a number of occasions the first being some fifteen years ago. It offers wonderful peace and quiet in a lovely location with several small fishing lakes on site for the not too serious angler. when last at this site some five years ago we noted a dated look to the lodges which we hoped had been updated this time round especially as it has new owners, sadly this was not the case apart from a few small replacements the lodges remain much the same. Our booking was for four adults but the lodge was made-up for two only this was put right on bringing to the attention of the owner but only after having no sheets or pillow cases on two of the beds. The lounge seating was also lacking with, a two-seater and armchair, for four people? all in all we enjoyed the break but felt it could have been so much nicer with very little extra except a little more thought perhaps!
Ray from Norfolk (30 September 2017)

Stayed in oakwood, very well equipped, clean and spacious lodge. Especially liked the 'welcome box' complete with devon cream tea. Exactly what we needed after the drive down. . the only disaapointing details was the extremely uncomfortable mattress/creaky pine bed and the layout in the main bedroom. The sloping roof in this room is an issue when using that side of the bed. (bumped our heads on more than one occasion). . other than that it's a fabulous location and the hot tub is lush!
Tessa from Kent (30 September 2017)

Great place to relax away from it all, comfortable and well equipped lodge, would visit again.
Julia from Birmingham (30 September 2017)

Couldn't have asked for more
Carron from Somerset (29 September 2017)

Very nice lodge. Plenty of space. Hot tub was great!
Verity (29 September 2017)

Lovely cabins lovely place but the road to get there put me off going again, sorry did not need staff while we where there.
Customer 130 (23 September 2017)

A brilliant peaceful holiday destination. It's situated in a lovely forestry setting with only the sound of the wildlife for company.
Derek from Essex (23 September 2017)

Brilliant stay, a real get away from it all holiday. loved everything, bit nervous about driving in and out to nearest tesco .. but that is country living and no fault of anyone. only suggestion is local footpath map for our of complex as we would have liked to do some walks from there, but couldn't find directions anywhere .. the owner did tell us verbally, but I couldn't remember what he said. definitely will come again.
Kevin from Isle Of Wight (22 September 2017)

The foxglove was a super spacious & very warm comfortable cabin, with a wonderful hot tub that we used often & this was always a great temperature, considering it was mid september. The area is so peaceful, with many birds, pheasants & squirrels. We venued out once to instow, but had everything we wanted at the foxglove, great elevation, views & peacefulness. Many thanks
Michelle from Gloucester (22 September 2017)

Such an amazing long weekend. Hot tub was amazing, beautiful surroundings and walks to go on! the lodge had everything that you needed and more! can't wait to come again!
Amy (18 September 2017)

I really liked the lodges, the quality is fantastic. The only reason I have marked down the staff is because, I wasn't made aware the on arrival you literally have to find your specific lodge and the key is in door. We and another couple were very confused and with nobody around to ask it was a little poor.
Ian from West Yorkshire (12 September 2017)

We arrived quite late in the day, but were delighted to find a welcome box in the cabin with tea and coffee makings, jam, cream and fresh made scones which were wonderful. We were met by helpful staff who apologised for the lack of hot water in the kitchen that evening as they were waiting for repair parts for the boiler-forewarned it was not an issue-the boiler was repaired and working by the time we got up after a lay in in the morning-blinding!. the woods were beautiful, quiet, peaceful and undisturbed. The phone reception was as poor as advertised and the wifi was non-existent, again as advertised, marvelous for us as we wanted a really quiet time and we got just that. Location is great, just a short drive to bideford or barnstaple for sight seeing or shopping, but remote enough to be undisturbed when we wanted. All in all a great break and we'd love to go back-soon
Peter from Sidcup (09 September 2017)

The interior of lodge was tired and basic. Hot water failed after one day. Main tvs screen badly scratched. Whole place could do with a re vamp. Grounds not very dog friendly, they had to be kept on lead at all times even when not near angling lake. Footpaths were very muddy in places and not easy to walk on. Approach road to site was narrow, single track with virtually no passing places with soft muddy verges.a drivers nightmare. Won't be recommending the site to friends.
Paul from Bristol (08 September 2017)

Lodge in need of a refurbishment.
Catherine from Fordingbridge (08 September 2017)

We have stayed at bulworthy for years along with other family groups who have also now return for several years. It's sad no loyalty discount applies. The facilities in larches lodge, wifi, larger hot tub and just the lodge being better equipped in general. Chestnut lodge was the same price but smaller hot tub, less kitchen appliances etc even the sizes and quality of saucepans was poorer in chestnut. We love bulworthy as it's a summer haven for us but the false advertising for wifi was a bit poor too. And no hairdryer in the lodge. Had to wait two days for one from the owners.
Dawn from Norwich (02 September 2017)

Great
Darren from Oxford (01 September 2017)

Didn't need to bother the staff hence no mark given. The holiday was fantastic in awesome surroundings and a comfortable lodge
Andrew from Bulkington (29 August 2017)

The location and the lodge were both beautiful,?we would definitely love to go again. I understand them at the lodge we stayed in is going to have a hot tub, this will be a perfect addition. I have highly recommend it already to friends and family.
Lisa from Cheshire (28 August 2017)

Great place, really enjoyed it
Nick (26 August 2017)

Staff were friendly and helpful. However the lodge was "tired" - needs updating and refurbishing - wasn't a patch on a similarly priced holiday house in dorset at the same time last year. Because of the overhanging verandah and the forest setting the sun only shone in through the bathroom window - we needed lights on inside for most of the time. The verandah itself got a little sun in the morning. Unfortunately there was quite often a smell of drains. The forest setting was attractive but the approach is down single track roads for about a mile. Once there, the approach to many lodges is very steep - I wouldn't like to do it in a car in winter unless it was 4-wheel drive.
Sheila from Manchester (26 August 2017)

Hunter lodge had everything we needed. Plenty of space for 2 adults 2 kids and one toddler. Lovely view of lake.
Laura from Gloucestershire (25 August 2017)

Family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens, 1 four year old) and 2 dogs stayed in oakapple lodge in august. Accommodation was clean, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Owners were helpful when I phoned with a query prior to arrival and were on hand if needed but gave us plenty of space to enjoy our holiday. Beautiful, peaceful location.
Dawn (25 August 2017)

Lodge was in dire need of new flooring all through also floor tiles in bathroom cracked n mould above the shower and the beds was very uncomfy
Dawn from Doncaster (19 August 2017)

Fantastic lodge very peaceful and a great base for exploring north devon.
Karan from Surrey (19 August 2017)

Beautifully situated and very remote, well off the beaten track. Lakes and trees all around and very peaceful. Bird-song everywhere, day and night. Close to bideford for provisions and cycling on the tarka trail.
Patrick from Kent (14 August 2017)

Although the log cabin was well equipped, the decor was a bit dated. The location was ideal although everywhere had to be accessed by car. Good for a hideaway getaway, fishing and walking.
Ian from Rangemore (14 August 2017)
