Didn’t expect it to smell of stale smoke or having to fix the toilet myself at 11 pm on a sunday night. We had to figure out the boiler ourselves and the general cleanliness of the cabin wasn’t good enough.this place needs some serious updating . the microwave was even rusty inside. Would I stay again . never.would recommend it. Never.
Keith from Nottingham (15 November 2017)

Nice location and quiet surroundings. Lodge was basic but comfortable. We had a great stay exploring the llyn peninsula and snowdonia.
Katie from West Yorkshire (04 November 2017)

Really enjoyed the holiday at bron eifion lovely place in a beautiful place. Lodges were lovely and well equipped for our needs. There is a big fishing lake which is the reason we booked and have booked again for next year. My husband and two grand children who live with us came with us and they all fish my grand son is just learning to be a fisher man at moment but was very happy at 14years old with the holiday. Have to rely on phone internet which ours was in and out on site but didn’t bother us as we like to escape to the countryside apart from busy towns and city’s and relax. Lots of lovely walks around the area to walk the dogs and they were very happy as country dogs not town dogs. . owners were very helpful when we arrived and on hand if we needed them. very relaxing holiday.
Margaret from Cheshire (03 November 2017)

It was a lovely place the hot tub was nice but to much clurine in the tub
Bobby (20 October 2017)

We loved place especially two very friendly cats who decided to live with us during our stay . owner very helpful and lovely. . we liked set up around lake. . if you are expecting luxurious place this is not place for you but if you want to stay somewhere where is nice and quiet with hot tub so you can relax - than you will enjoy it.
Agnieszka (09 October 2017)

Absolutely enjoyed the scenery and the people were so friendly
Dennis from Portishead (07 October 2017)

Fabulous setting. Lodge approach however has very narrow lanes driving up to parc which can be off putting. The lodge hot tub was great but the lodge had thread bare carpet and smelt very musty. Overall good value for money but a few improvements would make it better
Ali from Stourbridge (29 September 2017)

The location was lovely however the lodge was musty and damp with dog odours. We would advise against carpet in a pet friendly lodge where there is a hot tub. This encourages damp and odours. The furniture was very dated and the bed mattress needs replacing.
Lesley from Bromsgrove (25 September 2017)

Lovely place and helpful friendly people. Only one little niggle and that's that the walk round to the hot tub was on the driveway unsheltered but everything else was great
Nicola from Manchester (18 September 2017)

We have been here before although wethroughly enjoyed our holiday here we felt furnishings in lounge could have been better . sofa chairs not very clean and carpet could be changed . however saying all this we going book for next september
Sandra from Brampton (15 September 2017)

Beautiful surroundings. Helpful and friendly staff carol and kevin made us si welcome. The fishing is excellent and the lodge was warm, spacious and comfortable. Ideal place if you love fishing. we will be back.
Lisa from Stoke On Trent (02 September 2017)

Perfect apart from the place smelt damp!
Magdaline (01 September 2017)

Lovely setting and great people very welcoming would love to return again next year
Nicola from Staffs (29 August 2017)

The location of bron eifion fisheries was poorly directed on unmade roads. An off road vehicle would definitely be a must. Pretty location with lovely views, unfortunately let down by the poor state of accommodations. Dated decor, dirty kitchen, cracked bathroom sink(reported by previous customers, but not acted upon)awful beds with mattresses that need condemning. To top it off the electricity is on a coin meter. A broken tv with chocolate on the remote. The hot tub was over chlorinated leaving our six year of with a rash. . other customers have commented on the failings of this site previously with no sanctions or improvements made. As a repeat customer of hoseasons my family and I are used to a much better quality accommodation. This is not a good example of your company and has made me question utilising hoseasons again. mrs a whiteoak
Amanda from Bingley (26 August 2017)

Cannot wait to return. This is one of the most peaceful breaks we have ever had. Beautiful view of lake from cabin. A perfect way to de stress in this quite away from it all location. Very friendly staff on hand as soon as we arrived.
Andrew from South Wales (23 August 2017)

- very dated furniture and they are very dirty. Toilet seat was cracked and broken. Sprung mattresses are too dated and not up to standard. They gave us backache after the first night. . . - only got 1 hot tub on the site, when you ask for it, staff said it's run out, but never seen anyone using it. . . - fishing on site cost £4.50 half day and £6.50 full day, so staying for 7 days fishing break, you'd expect to pay an extra £45.50. . - you pay for the electricity used, which cost about £2 a day. . - rat droppings kept appearing in one of the bedroom and you could hear them scratching at night. It's horrible and scary for the kids!. . - got to give some credit to the surrounding environment, but extremely disappointed with the low value for money and staff were not helpful at all. . - next time we'd rather camping in a camp site, at least we know what to expect and save us more than half of a thousand pounds!
Confirmed Holidaymaker (12 August 2017)

Wonderful location, but the lodge had seen better days and the kitchen in particular was none to clean. we felt that we had to wash everything in the kitchen before we used it. . staff were very helpful. the view from the lodge was amazing!
Elizabeth from Wigan (28 July 2017)

Lovely location but we had a few problems with pests in the cupboard and them not being cleaned. Very tired place and for the cost most definitely not worth visiting.
Donna from Leicestershire (28 July 2017)

The lodge was comfortable and the owner carol was fantastic, helpful and friendly. The area is peaceful and beautiful and close to the sea. Had a great week and can't wait to go back again.
Claire from Nottingham (22 July 2017)

Needs a good cleaning and update inside
Derek (22 July 2017)

Very , very cut off. No good staying there if you wish to walk to shops , pubs etc. Unmade road for the final 150yds not good for your car. Overall great location for fisherman but necessarily for tourers.
Robert from Cochester (14 July 2017)

We only went for the fishing as we have been before and the fishing and lake are outstanding. the lodge itself was in desperate need of refurbishment but as we only went for the fishing we weren't too bothered and our two cats were also welcomed. We will be going again next year.
Christine from Manchester (07 July 2017)

As others have already passed comments, the lodge is showing it's age. It requires updating. A new double bed mattress, new hand basin in the bathroom, new pull cord for bathroom light switch, new bathroom flooring (original has shrunk). new television, and in this modern age wi-fi on site. The onsite manager was very friendly and always helpful.
David from Cambridgeshire (30 June 2017)

Wales is a lovely place to visit! the views are out-standing!!!!. their is a lot to look at and a lot to do, great places to eat out, trains journeys to ride, mines to explore plus of coarse to sea to go in/sale on or just paddle.
Keith from Swadlincote (10 June 2017)

We stayed in glaslyn lodge and found our stay pretty much perfect. The lodge was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed. I have a couple of small niggles. They would be a huge crack in the bathroom sink but that's clearly expensive to replace and the internal doors creaking and being difficult to close. This isn't great when you're sneaking about when a 3 year old is in bed! apart from that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will be back asap. Its a stones throw from criccieth. Very easy to find. Carol who looked after us was very helpful and also left us to our own devices which was great. I only got to use the hot tub once due to bad weather. Unfortunate!
Amy from Huddersfield (09 June 2017)

The actual lake and grounds were lovely and it also helped as the weather was good. But there is an endless list of negatives about the cabins. To list just a few... awful smell that never went, scruffy sofas with ripped throws, broken dirty freezer, the shower cubicle was rotten, awful beds, dust and webs everywhere, generally unclean throughout. I could go on. Our friends and their family stayed in one of the our cabins a few up from us and unfortunately theirs was exactly the same with the added insult of no oven door. We all go away together every spring bank in cabins and have never had a bad experience until these i'm sorry to say.
Emma from Chesterfield (02 June 2017)

Lodge surrounds were nice and scenic.
Rebecca from Colchester (31 May 2017)

Great stay at bron eifon lodges again this time, great setting, fishing really good.been coming here now for 8 years and will be back next year.owners kevin and carol are so helpful and friendly.very peaceful and quiet if that what you like.
Tony from Telford (26 May 2017)

Bron eifion lodges are a real hidden gem. Very secluded and tranquil. Nice lodges, very helpful staff and great fishing. Our party of three (included one disabled) enjoyed our fourth visit here and we will return.
Margaret from Warrington (26 May 2017)

Very peaceful place, much earned rest achieved
Yvonne (20 May 2017)

Nice and relaxing surroundings great for fishing.
Philip from Walsall (12 May 2017)

Really peaceful location, with friendly helpful staff
Fay (28 April 2017)

Location was nice. Lodges were quite old and worn. Bedding was very poor condition. Spoke to the owners who to their credit. Replaced the pillows but booked for 4 nights and stayed 1.
Paul from Wilmslow (25 April 2017)

We visited bron efiion with 2 families over easter and had such a fantastic time. . . we both had dogs in our lodges and we found the venue absolutely ideal. . . fishing on the door step for beginners and more experienced anglers. . . the quality of the lodges was ideal for our needs. . . we will certainly be going back.
Paul from Liverpool (17 April 2017)

Great holiday. Great hosts.great location.
Thiago (17 April 2017)

This site is well located for touring the north wales coast, snowdonia and places such as portmadog and port meirion. The local town/beach at cricceth is about a mile away and has lots of facilities and a great beach. (dylan's restaurant on the sea front is also highly recommended!). . we (2 adults) booked a short four night break on a last minute deal about 10 days before arrival and we obtained a good value deal with hoseasons. Unfortunately, due to a medical emergency we were a day late arriving but the owners were very understanding. . as a keen carp angler the main reason for booking this site was because of the fishing which was excellent. I fished each day and caught lots of good sized and good conditon fish on each session, including a very nice 9.25lb mirror carp. Fishing is not included in the accomodation hire charge and is charged separately on a daily basis but it is quite reasonable. . my wife is a teacher, so took a huge pile of marking with her to do, so the peace and quiet and change of scenery was just what she needed. . as others have mentioned in their reviews, the lodges are somewhat dated and some of the older lodges have seen better days. The two bedroom lodge we stayed in was clean, tidy and well equipped but it did have it's faults. Being one of the older lodges there was quite a bit of rotting wood on the external veranda which had obviously just been simply painted over, but really could do with replacing. The gas oven was a nightmare to use as it kept 'blowing out' and there was silly things wrong like a false drawer front missing, light switches which didn't work, a broken headboard and a broken lampshade. On the plus side, the lodge was cosy and warm, had comfortable beds and pillows and a great shower. The electricity is by a slot meter so make sure that you take a bag of pound coins with you and any gas used is charged at the end of your stay. As someone who is used to spending uncomfortable and cold nights fishing in a tent/bivvy, the lodge was a much more pleasant option but no way are they 'luxurious'. . the site itself is pretty and very much centred around the lake. There is a open field to the rear of the site where children can play, but if you don't fish then there isn't much else to do on site. There is also no wi-fi, so you'll have to rely on your own phone connection, which because of the close proximity to cricceth town was fine. The site works well as a base for exploring the north wales/snowdonia area and being so close to the nice beach at cricceth would be great in summer. . as the site is only about 2hrs from our home I would certainly consider returning simply for the fishing, either with my wife or on my own. The owners were both very pleasant and helpful.
Stephen from Shrewsbury (14 April 2017)

Nice place, very peaceful.
Andrew from Hartlepool (14 April 2017)

Very relaxed and enjoyable
Irene from Warrington (31 March 2017)

We stayed for 3 nights, the lodge was clean and well equipped the hot tub was hot and relaxing. The location is just out of town on a fishery which is very quiet and relaxing, so other than fish there's not much else to do which suited us. Overall I would recommend it for a quiet relaxing break.
Stephen from Warrington (27 March 2017)

Bedding was dated, and the chemicals in the hot-tub was strong. 3/4 of us came home with a rash from the chemicals.
Emma from Holywell (27 March 2017)

It was a lovely place to go . the reason we won't be going back is just that it's for fishermen . there's nothing on the site and at night there's not enough light. All though the cabin was basic it was clean and comfortable. It was our own fault that we booked this cabin as didn't realise it was just for fishing. The owner was very nice and is on site and nothing is to much trouble so thumbs up for that. If you like fishing get yourself there you will love it
Denise from Cannock (22 March 2017)

The lodges are set in a very idyllic place, and the staff were very friendly. The lodges themselves could do with a good spruce ours was quite jaded, drawer fronts missing and drawer bottoms falling out. the pans and cooker were not very clean and the dishes were quite dirty.the bedrooms had a damp feel and the shower room had black mold on the silicone sealer. our couch in the lounge was very saggy and not at all comfortable. It is a lovely place and I think its very geared towards fishing but it definitely needs some tlc.
Linda from North Wales (16 March 2017)

Really nice place home from home .only one problem was I found the bed to uncomfortable apart from that its a really nice place to stay
Paul (16 March 2017)

Lodge was lovely and clean and cosy. The fishing was poor when we were there but so was the weather so we blamed the weather. We had a hot tub which made up for the rain! we would try it again in the warmer months.
Alison from Warrington (13 March 2017)

Really peaceful family holiday - great location and welcoming owners.
Heather from Meols (24 February 2017)

Very nice place and really lovely people would stay again with out a doubt. Only 5 min drive to town centre and beaches. Top stay
Customer 46 from Rhyl (23 February 2017)

We had a brilliant few days in north wales. Managed to see a lot - and even the february weather didn't stop us enjoying ourselves.
Henriette (19 February 2017)

The lodges are lovely and cosy in a nice setting. Ideal for visiting snowdonia and the surrounding areas. The lady who manages them was lovely and friendly.
Kelly from Lancashire (17 February 2017)

Good
Lewis from Leicester (11 February 2017)

It was lovely and clean and we enjoy it very much
Dennis from Salford (04 February 2017)

Beautiful setting, lodge was a bit tired and had an old smell, we would stay again but in a different lodge. Staff very helpful and a very quiet location.
Jon (23 January 2017)

Lovely place but needs up dating
Wendy from Hayle Cornwall (20 January 2017)

Lovely place lovey helpful staff will definitely be going back.
John from Wilmslow (16 January 2017)

Would have been nice to have a ensite shop selling eggs bread milk otherwise perfect x
Jennifer from Pwllheli (16 January 2017)

We stayed here over christmas it's was wonderful to get away from all the stress.cabins have all you need to cook clean cabin nice and warm on arrival.the way the cabins are set in private woodlands with beautiful lake we just loved it so did our dog she was in dog heaven would definitely book again in winter or summer the only thing missing was the snow to top it off just lovely
Sandy from Knutsford Cheshire (27 December 2016)

It was a lovely place just needs a bit updating but apart from that would definitely recommend this place. The hot was lovely.
Donna from Wrexham (30 September 2016)

We used the lodge as a base for site seeing around north wales, I thought of it as a home from home, had everything we needed, functional and warm. . the site is ideal for people looking for quiet fishing and relaxing. . fishing rods and a bbq were available if we wanted them.
Andrew from Crawley, West Sussex (24 September 2016)

Although a little 'off the beaten track'; my wife and I were met by a most welcoming, polite and informative staff member who led us to our accommodation. the lodge which although now shows a little wear 'n' tare, was clean and tidy has ample space for 4 our persons, plenty of storage room, plenty of pans cutlery, crockery and glassware
Brian (24 September 2016)

Good holiday and the fishing was good. Spoiled by the need for the lodge to be refurbished. Very disappointed with the accommodation.
Arnold from Bolton (17 September 2016)

Sadly, many of the reviews are very accurate. Great location, could be a whole lot better if the lodges were cleaned. I am sorry to say, they are filthy, there really is no excuse. Laughably the owner was perturbed that I had left charcoal in the borrowed barbecue. I thought it would be of use for the next guests, he exclaimed that it was clean when I borrowed it, yes, if you include the charcial and leaves, all the same, a hell of a lot cleaner than the lodge. What a pity, could be so much better if the owners responded to feedback. Sorry, won't be back.
Martin from Liverpool (03 September 2016)

Fabulous time, most relaxing. Just what I was looking for.
Julie from Willenhall (13 August 2016)

The lodge is in need up dating inside and out
Philip from Tamworth (13 August 2016)

Lovely part of the world and lake is good fishing for the kids. Shame about the hospitality and cleanliness. Would not go back
James from Clacton On Sea (13 August 2016)

It is a beautiful place. Worth the money. Especially enjoyed the hot tub. Cabin was clean and comfortable. The lake is beautiful too. Our only real negative was the shower. Needs to be upgraded asap. The staff were very helpful.
Maria (06 August 2016)

Lovely surroundings, very quiet. The lodge is large and spacious with a nice decking area with a view onto the fishing pool. Well equipped with comfy beds and a huge main bedroom. The bunk bed room is very tiny with room just for the bed. Only a 5 minute drive into criccieth and local shops and the castle and beach. The negatives are that the lodge is showing signs of age and a poor lack of maintenance e.g. Sycamore saplings growing through the decking along with brambles in the seating area..these are an easy thing to maintain and appearances and attention to detail do matter at when you're paying a lot of money each night. For this reason we didn't feel it was good value for money despite enjoying our actual stay, the lodge been well located, spacious and quiet. A little maintenance like the leaky taps (washers cost 50p) and broken rad valves (a fiver?) and drawer face coming off (a blob of wood glue and 1 minute to fix) would go a long way to improving what was a lovely trip overall. Last negative is the decking of the ramp to enter the property had become dirty and mouldy and it on the day we departed caused my 71 year old mother to slip and crack her rib on the railings. A simple pressure washer or anti slip paint wouldn't go amiss.
Neville (02 August 2016)

Great location, very quiet, relaxing, great fishing, good base for exploring the surrounding area, lodge a nice size.
Joanne from Felixstowe (16 July 2016)

Beautiful spot by the lake dad enjoyed the fishing said its one of the best he would go back but my mum and me would not staff very welcoming and helpfull lolodge had old and worn furniture in it and not clean bedding very dirty
Terri from Caernarfon (02 July 2016)

These lodges are in a wonderful area but sadly they are not maintained very well. The bed linen is clean but poor and the shower room was dismal, with the smallest shower imaginable. Once you had dropped the soap there was no picking it up. pity a little more care is not taken with them as they are in a lovely position and have got a lot of potential.
Elizabeth from Liversedge (25 June 2016)

Nice surrounding, but a bad lodge.
Peter from Netherlands (18 June 2016)

Lodges are set in beautiful surroundings and the week we were there the weather was absolutely fantastic. As an angler the fishing was good without being spectacular, the only downside the lodges were a bit dated and could have done with a bit of tlc. Not enough to stop us going back again if you could guarantee that sort of weather.
William from Birmingham (04 June 2016)

We had a fantastic week at bron efion lodges in may 2016. The location was perfect for our seaside holiday in criccieth and the lake and surrounding were beautiful. After reading some bad reviews I was a bit worried about going there with our two young boys but nothing was as bad as i'd read. The lodge was basic but comfortable; repairs are needed and the kitchen wasn't well equipped or clean (we were using one tin opener between two lodges) but we aren't the sort of people to let things like that spoil our holiday- you have to consider how much you pay and remember that you always get what you pay for. The weather was glorious for the entire week; we didn't see a cloud and had a welsh heat wave so only spent about £6 on the electricity meter. Being able to sit out on a verander to eat breakfast round a lake every single morning in the sun, watching a heron and feeding the resident geese was a luxury! we will definitely return next time we are in need of a cheap break at the seaside. Criccieth is ideal for young children and families and a visit to the famous ice cream shop and the castle is a must.
Katie from Oldham (03 June 2016)

Enjoyed our stay always made to feel welcome, we have been a number of times before and like the peace and quiet.
Olive from Telford, Shropshire (28 May 2016)

Had an amazing time.
Graham from St Helens (20 May 2016)

The lodge is in a lovely setting and is nice that it is next to a lake. You get to see a lot of different birds which is very interesting. It is ideal for fishing; though my partner and I don't fish. The hot tub was great and the lodge had all the basic things we could need. The only negative was the bathroom; the shower was a dribble and the floor very uneven. In honesty the lodges need an update but ours was fine for a few days. We had a dog with us and it suited his needs. Though a bigger dog would of not fitted in as nicely. The lodge was designed for four but I think you would of been cramped. It was just room enough for two of us plus dog. The area has some nice things to do but you couldn't stay for a week. The coastal walk is worth a go but when you get to beach part not very well sign posted. The castle was dog friendly which was refreshing. The ice cream shop by there is amazing and the fish and chip shop too. We wouldn't stay again purely because we have done all the things there. Owner was very friendly, giving you space but helpful when you need it. I would recommend this place for couples only; who want to fish
Amanda (04 May 2016)

Lovely place, being a fisherman it was ideal surroundings. Staff were very helpful but also left you to yourselves to relax. The hot tub in the back was awesome. The inside of the lodges were slightly dated maybe the tvs/ dvd needed up dateing and a larger sofa big enough for two to lie back and relax would have been good. But overall a very pleasant and relaxing place to spend a few days. I would stay their again
Craig from Manchester (03 May 2016)

This is a gem of a holiday retreat in beautiful surroundings with views of the mountains and all the lodges set around a lake with lots of wildlife but with a little more effort could be even better. The whole site could do with a tidy up, broken chairs, sinks etc left in view of guests but the site owners were very friendly and helpful, the fishing was great and the hot tub was lovely and clean although the cover a bit tatty, on the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return
Richard from Blakeney, Gloucestershire (30 April 2016)

Loved the location but did have to travel through winding roads to get anywhere. The lodge was nice. We had the one wig a hot tub which did cost us quite alot so was shocked when we saw we had to pay for electric with a coin minute. Overall beautiful quiet place would recommend for people with older kids and are wanting to rest and have quiet.
Emma (08 April 2016)

Went with three pals for easter weekend . fishing was fantastic despite the awful weather . lodge was very well laid out but rather cold because of the temperature outside there were electric heaters but they drank our pounds that you have to put in the meter . also the shower needs looking at . it either scalded you or was freezing cold .
David from Prestatyn (28 March 2016)

Nice place if you want peace and quiet. Central to most towns.
Sheila from Carmarthenshire (28 March 2016)

Great time weather was good that week fishing was good very peaceful and quiet cabins very clean and well catered for would recommend to anyone great base if you want to explore wales
Barbara from Wigan (18 March 2016)

Great break away. Lovely and clean. Great location and carol really helpful. Dog friendly so extra plus points. Thanks for a great stay
Simon from Ipswich (08 March 2016)

Nice location and cracking price.
Alan from Flintshire (04 March 2016)

An excellent lodge in excellent surrounds, the view in the mornings was breath-taking, watching the sun rise over the trees and lake. . the only down side is the driveway from the lane to the lodges, it has too many pot holes. However this is only a small problem, which the lodge and scenery make up for. . we found the people of cricieth very friendly and a couple of the pubs allowed dogs in, which for us was a bonus. . . overall a very relaxing and enjoyable break. we would highly recommend this to others.
Ian from Wigan (26 February 2016)

Really needs to be updated stay in a lot of log cabins all year round but this is the worst sorry but they are really grotty inside and need a [proper clean and new furniture for a start its not the seventies
David from Liverpool (26 February 2016)

Even in a wet february it was a lovely break away. quiet setting but nice to be able to look out over the lake and it's only a 5 minute drive down to the town. The lodge was quite cold at times and so we did need the heaters on quite a bit and the gas bill at the end was a bit of a shock. The lady was very helpful and friendly and I have already recommended it to friends.
Jessica (21 February 2016)

Great retreat. Quiet and peaceful. Easy distance to lots of places.
Lorna from Redditch (20 February 2016)

The site is in a wonderful location with good hosts carol and kevin who are always available to assist and make your stay enjoyable
Damian from Manchester (20 February 2016)

Arrived home from a beautiful 4 night stay at bron eifion lodges! it is deffo north wales hidden serect!! I really was suprized how gorgeous it was! as it didn't cost us a arm and a leg to stay here (like some other similar places to this does) and some of the reviews we read wasn't great, but they really couldn't of been more wrong and I honestly don't know how anyone could moan about the place! we arrived sunday to be welcomed by carol (what a lovely lady who really couldn't be anymore helpful! she was great) carol took us into our cabin and showed us around and how to use the telly, electric meter, heaters and the hot tub (my favourite bit even though it was freezing out..nothing stopped me going in there ha) then she left us to our own devices but reassured us she was only a cabin away if we needed anything. We went to just relax and be away from the rest of the world and that's just what we did :) we wasn't ever bothered by anyone, just a pleasant hi if we ever saw them while out on the front. The cabin itself was well equipped and on arrival was spotless with the heating already on for us :) it's so quiet, and u really are just in the middle of no where, yet you do have a town just a few miles away which is easy to get to if you did need a few things or a take away like we did :) in the cabin is a book of loads of information on things to do, places to eat, taxi numbers, take away numbers etc which was very helpful for us as we had never been before. The place is great for fishers obviously, but we didn't fish and still really loved it and was welcomed just the same as everyone else! I really can't complain about anything, yes the road to it is bumpy but for us we expected it as it's out the way like we wanted oh and we did end up putting £30 on the gas and electric which seems alot but our heating was on flat out because the time of the year and we're useless with lights lol so that was expected unall. (and to be honest we stay in static caravans on haven sites etc and have to pay £36 upfront for our gas and electric for our stay) . overall the whole holiday was brilliant, we've loved every minute of it and we will definitely be back! so we'll see you soon carol & kevin x
Kayleigh from Newtown, Powys (11 February 2016)

The holiday location was lovely and for the price we paid it was fine, I don't think that at full price it's worth the money as the log could do with an update and remove stains from floor and curtains, read all the description as we didn't mind but you have to pay for your electric and gas at the end of your stay. But again the location was brilliant!
Robyn (11 February 2016)

Lovely place, could do with a few more blankets for the winter months
Sarah from Redditch (08 February 2016)

It was our first ever stay in a log cabin, we had a lovely time it was a little remote but cabin and surroundings were very nice, quiet location only 9 cabins on the site. Think next time we will book something with a club on the camp as we had to drive all the time into criccieth it was a bit too far to walk.
Valerie from Wrexham (07 February 2016)

We stopped last year and that was the reason we returned great location as close to places of interest the only issue we had was phone service would have been nice to have a wifi option but other than that a great place and all being well we may return next year
Luke from Alrewas (28 January 2016)

Brilliant holiday, would definitely come back again (this was our second time) only thing I would say is that it would be helpful if they provided dish cloths and tea towels for us to use instead of having to buy them just to use there
Danielle from Bebington (27 January 2016)

Nice location, friendly staff, wrong time of year but will be back in the summer
Julius (24 January 2016)

Lovely quiet location, within walking distance to village and local pubs, good choice of local restaurants. would recommend anyone for long or short stay. Just the chill out factor required for time of year, can't wait to go back in summer
Paula from Liverpool (30 December 2015)

I did see some negative reviews about this place, but can truly say this it was fabulous. The lodge was immaculately clean and the location is superb. Not a fisherman, but was perfect for a romantic break.
Stanley from Not A Fisherman, But Was Perfect For A Romantic Br (30 December 2015)

Great time there and would definitely go again. was expecting it to be really basic based on some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised and it was really comfortable! very private and secluded.
Chris from London (27 December 2015)

My husband and I decided to get away for christmas this year and stay here. We stayed in one of the seiont lodges and it was fantastic! the lodge was spacious, immaculate and the heating was on for us upon arrival. There was plenty of cutlery, etc and the furniture was so comfy!!!! there was no problem in keeping the lodge warm. . the owners greeted us on arrival and were very friendly, lovely people who gave us all the information we needed. . the lodge we stayed in looked out upon the lake and the view was so beautiful. We had a relaxing, stress free break and have had the best christmas ever this year!. I would definitely recommend staying here..even if you don't fish!
Heather from Walsall (27 December 2015)

The lodge was fabulous and had everything you could possibly need. On the downside .. the £1 for electricity ran out way too fast and the hot tub needs a roof covering it.. but i'd go again it was lovely
Lorraine from Rhyl (27 December 2015)

A wonderful stay. the lodge was so comfortable and warm. there was everything we needed and a lovely scenic location. Will return for sure, thanks for the hospitality carol.
Peter (22 December 2015)

Great log cabin would have been better if electric was in with cost we put £21 in from friday evening till departure 10am monday I dont use that much in a 4 bed home. Apart from that nice and pieceful
Sarah from West Midlands (14 December 2015)

Really enjoyed our stay we took £1 coins so electric not a problem. Hot tub was brilliant. Lodge was clean tidy and cosy. The only reason we have not scored 10 is there are few things need some work and road to lodges wasn't good. Would go again.
Jane from Flintshire (27 November 2015)

We thought it was in a beautiful location the hot tub was great but they need to do something about the lane that you have to .drive to get to the lodges as it is terrible .would go back again if the lane was sorted out
Jane from Hereford (25 November 2015)

Very nice break - lovely surroundings fab cabin with hot tub - highly recommended
Julie from Wirral (15 November 2015)

I have been there probably 7 or 8 times and return most years as criccieth, the local village, is right on the welsh coast and has a seaside feeling during the summer. However from the beginning of november most food outlets close completely or for several days during the week and eating out requires planning and travel to neighbouring towns. The site is very basic so you need to take everything you need for your stay. The fishing lake is the attraction.
Steven from Coventry (07 November 2015)

The lodge was lovely and fully equipped but I would not class it as a park it is basically a fishing lake with 6 of so lodges on the site. the site looked unsightly as you drove into it as there appeared to be a toilet and bait caravan at the entrance to the site other than that it was very peaceful and surrounded by lovely countryside. it was a 20 minute walk into the town centre or a few minutes drive, good base for other areas. we used it as a base and travelled out each day. would probably stay again as a late break as the price was reasonable but more suited for people who like to fish.
David from Warrington (04 November 2015)

Had a great time for our anniversary in october at glaslyn lodge have alreasy booked again for next year.. people were very friendly and lodges are very comfortable with lovely views
Carly (01 November 2015)

We have stayed in quite a few lodges with a hot tub for similar prices and this probably has to be the least value for money. The lodge was very dated inside, very old tv that sometime did not work. The bathroom shower has seen better days. The main issues were the cleanliness of the lodge, all the plates, pans etc. That we used had to be re washed, it probably not a good idea to rely on the your guests to clean them properly or they should be checked before the next guest arrive. There was dust on most ledges and in between wardrobes and dressers, it did not look like this had been cleaned in a while. More pillows for the bedrooms needed as they were very flat and uncomfortable and more serving dishes. The lodge had a very strong ' febreeze' smell as you walked in, probably too strong. The hot tub was a lovely extra. . the settings are beautiful and my husband caught lots of fish from the lakes which he could not fault. a great spot for exploring but unfortunately we would not stay here again.
Jennifer (31 October 2015)

Clean and comfortable with everything you need.lovely view and hot tub was great.staff were friendly.spent £11 on electric meter over 4 days which wasn't bad. The furnishings are a little dated but it was clean and comfortable and half the price of hot tub lodges we have stayed in before. We went to the top of snowdonia, had a day in the gorgeous betswy coed and swallow falls, visited carmarthen and porthmadog before heading into llandudno.. there's a tesco 4 miles away in porthmadog.
Lea from West Yorkshire (28 October 2015)

Great for fishing as you are no more than a two minute walk to the waters edge and being so remote you don't need to break down your tackle each day. Seventh or eighth visit. Some furniture is a bit tired but totally acceptable.
Ian from Chorley (08 October 2015)

Could be kept in better shape, a bit tired now
Malcolm from Stoke On Trent (03 October 2015)

Very good location for a relaxing break, some.parts of the lodge needed improving
John from Manchester (03 October 2015)

Me and a couple of friends stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely, quiet relaxing place. Everything just a short car ride away. The lodge was well equipped and the hot tub was delightful. We loved our stay here.
Emma (26 September 2015)

This was my second and last stay at bron eifion lodges, the accommodation was worn and ready for the replacement of the beds and lounge furniture. The bed had springs sticking up and was lumpy at best. On the first night we spotted a mouse next to the cooker, the following morning there were droppings all over the lounge furniture and some of our belongings had been chewed during the night. I reported the infestation to the owners of the site who were indifferent and said that they would sort out some traps. By 6 pm that evening no traps had been supplied. I purchased a couple from wilko,s that did the trick catching an adult mouse. That evening we saw more mice in both the lounge and bathroom with one running over my foot. Owners were not interested.
Colin from Nottinghamshire (25 September 2015)

Really peaceful good fishing and good for walking
Sandra from Brampton (18 September 2015)

Lovely place
Craig from Powys (17 September 2015)

This is the second time we have stayed here, nice tranquil setting and good fishing.even if you don,t fish it is a good base to explore thr lleyn peninsular and snowdonia national park.
John from Leeds (12 September 2015)

We found carol very helpful our accommodation was spotless the information was great we had a wonderful time .
Brian from Edinburgh (05 September 2015)

Nice enclosed field to let dog off lead to run around away from fishing lake. Lovely setting, peaceful and nice lodges. Access road needs bringing uptodate. Ive got low profile tyres on my car so had to be very careful when driving trying to avoid potholes, owners trying their best to keep on top of repairs though.
Peter (28 August 2015)

I really don't know where the negative reviews are coming from in regards to this place .. the lodge that we had was great the location was so peaceful, the area itself we love, the owners couldn't have been any more helpful, would definitely book there again .. the only reason it doesn't get a ten out of ten is the access road up to the lodges is a little bumpy to say the least. But apart from that great place
Yvonne (08 August 2015)

Site is clean and well kept and lake provides a great setting. Fabulous if you're interested in fishing but, even if you're not, it's a beautiful setting.
William from Merseyside (07 August 2015)

The owners were great and very helpful. They made us feel very welcome. So did the people involved in the fishing. If you are going for a fishing holiday, you need to be aware that other non residents, fish as well, so getting up early to get your favourite spot is worth while. If going for a short break, it is worth asking if any matches are booked during the weekend you are hoping to book. The lake is very large but is also popular. . . it is well worth the money, the holiday provided a safe, relaxing space for us to fish and enjoy the scenery. . I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are looking for that relaxing fishing break. It is also nice for those not interested in fishing and central for exploring north wales.
Jacqueline from Worcestershire (03 August 2015)

Brilliant place lovely and relaxing, great fishing and really cheap day tickets.2 mins from criccieth lots to do all around for family's with children.would definitely book here again
Martin from Chester (20 July 2015)

After we'd booked we saw a review stating "if you haven't already booked - don't" and didn't know what we'd let ourselves in for. . let me just say that we stayed for 5 nights in a lodge with a hot tub (cedron vip/glaslyn) and were very happy with the lodge. The owners were friendly and whilst we felt the lodge could do with a few minor upgrades (new carpeting, new mattress) it did not affect our enjoyment. Beautiful setting only 5 mins drive to the sea. We would recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing, quiet and scenic break.
Dawn from Leicester (18 July 2015)

Excerlant holiday
Gaynor from Warrington (10 July 2015)

Pleasant and quiet location
Valerie (07 July 2015)

Booked this weekend away for a few girls to celebrate a 30th birthday - staff were very friendly, really helpful, couldn't do enough! lodges were clean, inviting and welcoming. Had all the comforts of home, very relaxing. Town was only a short taxi ride away - would be possible to walk. Lovely surroundings, peaceful and relaxing? would recommend and will definitely be returning in the future :)
Sonia (06 July 2015)

Beautifull lodges and a beautifull place
Samantha (23 June 2015)

Found the lodge to be very dated. They didn't advise to bring any bath towels as they don't provide any!
Susan from Rochdale (22 June 2015)

A lovely quiet and peaceful place to spend a holiday. Good fishing at a well stocked lake surrounded by flora, etc. Owners are very helpful and always on hand to oblige if needed. Just the place if you wish your holiday to be quiet and peaceful yet within easy reach of all that the lyn peninsular and snowdonia have to offer. Dogs are very welcome at the site as they are in many of the pubs in the area. Wish we could go there more often.
Anthony from March (20 June 2015)

As usual we had a great stay at bron eifion lodges.we love the surroundings, the hot tub,the fishing and the lovely quiet site.have been coming here twice a year for the last five years and booked again for september.proprietors kevin and carole are great people and can't do enough to help out if you need anything.
Tony from Telford (19 June 2015)

The road leading to the site is very narrow but once there it is worth it.
Malcolm from Wickford (12 June 2015)

It was a beautiful setting, lodge was a little basic, but had all what we needed,we had to put money in the meter for heating, but once placed warmed up it stayed nice and cosy, four friends stayed for just a peaceful few days, and it was very restful. We had the lodge with the hot tub, and that was lovely and relaxing, we stayed at the end of may and it did get a little chilly, but made the most of it, can never guarantee weather, overall we enjoyed our mini break, and would certainly visit again. Carole and kevin, who were in charge were very nice and helpful.

Poorly maintained leaking water from roof in bathroom and roof on verandah, cleanliness left a lot to be desired , carpets and vinyl flooring grotty and need of replacement . not able to use shower as sealant perished a round shower base causing mildew. Ants nest in bedroom by bed.

Great place to stay, very friendly owners. no signs to show checkin. inside the furnature is very worn, but because we have a dog we didnt mind. the cabin was clean and tidy. coin meter was reasonable. . we found low season rate to be a fair price for what we had and would be more than happy to go again.

Having stayed in these lodges about 10 years ago (when they were new) to meet up with family, we decided it would be nice to go again. We had read previous reviews so were a bit apprehensive and expecting things to be awful. Although the overall condition of the lodges were as previous reviews (ripped sofa cover, general wear and tear) the lodges were very clean and comfortable. As one of the family lodges were next to a large grassy area we spent most of the time outside playing ball games with the kids and enjoying the lovely weather. Two things I would point out is that it would be useful to have dustpan and brush and other cleaning equipment as we weren't able to clean as we went along. Secondly, I believe that the lodges are overpriced considering their condition. They should be upgraded or the price reduced accordingly. Other than that we had a great stay.

The lodges are located in a beautiful, peaceful setting, ideal for anglers, but there are no local amenities or shops nearby without driving into criccieth. there are large potholes in the track leading to the lodges and it's a shame you can't walk all around the lake and through the woodland.

We booked this to do something different for the weekend and with the added bonus of taking our dog. We found the place easy enough and even though we arrived a bit earlier then we should of done the owners was very accommodating. On arrival into our lodge we found it very clean and tidy also plenty of plates, cups, cutlery, pans ect as I did bring a lot of my own thinking we wouldn't have everything we needed. The hot tub was also great and bigger then I thought it would be. Overall we had a nice 3 night stay even though the weather wasn't great.

After finding the lodges we were very happy with the location and the lodges looked amazing. The weather was not the best but we still really enjoyed the stay and had some nice visits to some castles. Will be back again but for a fishing holiday as the lake looks very good and quiet.

Beautiful setting for a lodge - countryside was amazing. Lots to see and do in the local area. Lodge was clean and comfortable although furniture well used and in need of updating (torn sofa/ shower showing signs of wear) but this didn't spoil our time there.
