This park is small but perfectly quiet with a wonderful play park and a great place to explore from! the hot tub is a welcome extra and the club house ran by jemma was the jewel in the crown. what a lovely welcoming girl, thoroughly enjoyed going there!
Beverley (31 August 2018)

We found dog hair, human hair, nail clippings, dog biscuits in cupboard , toilet paper ,dead wasps, dry mud under beds. Duvet cover with lots of unpleasant stains. . one cooking tray that was rusty, one serving dish that was cracked, oven knob faulty so no oven for 3 days . inadequate size fridge/freezer considering no site shop. . insecure caravan steps with no handrail. Weeds growing up side of caravan, planks etc. Pushed under caravan. Rented many caravans and lodges over the years , so disappointed with this one.!!!!
Lynne from Durham (25 August 2018)

Very nice park and van was nice to, sofa cushions needs a good clean or changing though.
Shaun from Wakefield (18 August 2018)

Lovely and comfortable. Quiet. Clean. Value for money
Amanda from Wakefield (17 August 2018)

Complaint has been sent with regards to this.
Maureen (11 August 2018)

A fabulous weekend retreat. Very clean and lovely location. I would only say the hot tub smelt funny on out second time of using it and the sides of the tub did not feel clean. But everything else was superb.
Sarah from Barnsley (29 July 2018)

Got off to the worst possible start, with my caravan not ready when I arrived at 5:15pm and the office closed early. The office staff were infact cleaning the caravan, and after we tracked them down with the aid of the immensely helpful private owners, told me they would be a further 10 minutes cleaning. After waiting a further 45 minutes we left to have dinner still having been unable to access our accomodation. This was exceptionally disappointing and led to a very stressful start to our holiday after a long drive. . there is a smell of raw sewage in and around the areas we were staying. . the park bins were also constantly overflowing. . the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and none of us slept particularly well on our holiday.
Brian (27 July 2018)

Lovely peaceful park, spotlessly clean, & probably the best, roomiest caravan we have ever had. A real bonus was the beds being ready made up and the towels, loo roll and kitchen sink materials ready there to use. Thank you very much!
Carol from Matlock (27 July 2018)

Excellent caravan even though we only booked a basic. Was wondering what to expect. Well, we had a beautiful, clean caravan with ensuite loo, patio doors opening to a small balcony. Beds were clean and made up. Towels were provided (although we took our own). nice, small, friendly park. Great for morpeth, beamish, alnwick, amble. We would go again and recommend. Weather was beautiful!
Christine from Hull (21 July 2018)

Lovely quiet site, kids loved caravan and hot tub.
Duncan from Coldstream (20 July 2018)

Was a lovely relaxing week ,in very clean ,airy caravan in what like a woodland setting with a little stream running by.everything nice ,clean and well looked after in the park.off the park many lovely clean places to visit .all in all a nice clean run site .just eju
Eunice from Keswick (13 July 2018)

A lovely quiet site. Most of the units are new and they aren’t on top of each other. Personally I will definitely stay there again.
Steve from Mansfield (25 June 2018)

We arrived sometime in the afternoon and found the camp easy to find, just off the a1, following a short drive from newcastle airport. It could not have been easier to locate. The camp was nice and quiet with some lovely properties and our caravan was clean, comfortable and modern, though perhaps dated compared to some of the others (it was one of the cheaper ones, so understandable - we loved it). despite being june, there were a couple of really cold days and the presence of a gas heater took the edge off. . it's in a great location to get to alnwick and holy island to the north, newcastle and durham to the south, and about 1 mile from the fabulous northumberland county zoo (i strongly recommend a visit!). . the only drawback to the camp is the location in relation to amenities, it's nearly 10 miles from the nearest supermarket, for example. Alnwick to the north and morpeth to the south are the nearest which can be a pain if you have to go all that way for a bottle of milk. I recommend anyone staying here keep on top of supplies and plan in advance. It would have been handy to have information on where to go for such amenities (supermarket, petrol station) inside the properties. . another mild complaint is the internet connection. The cost was a little high for what wasn't a particularly good signal. I suggest building the cost of connection into the price and perhaps consider a better coverage. . overall, a great experience and we'd certainly consider staying at bockenfield again.
Matthew from Cornwall (23 June 2018)

Very nice quiet park.the staff very welcoming and helpful.the caravan was very comfortable with everything we needed for self catering stay.we had never been to this area before and really enjoyed the many places of interest nearby.
Jean from Chorley (16 June 2018)

We had a wonderful relaxing hols . a great base to explore the magical mystical wonders of northumberland
Lynne (15 June 2018)

Small but very pleasant park, next to a1 but you would not think so-it's quiet. we had a new and comfortable mobile home with parking just outside-great for our elderly parents. very handy location for touring northumberland. we'll be back!!
Dorothy from Kelty (09 June 2018)

Lovely place. Small chalet bar, no shop , but plenty around and about to do . make sure you have enough food for at least your first night as nothing on site to eat except peanuts and crisps. Lovely place right in the heart of all places to visit
Mandy from Doncaster (01 June 2018)

Lovely, peaceful park . the only thing was, that there wasn’t many places near by to eat without driving. But overall a lovely site with helpful staff and a nice spacious caravan .
Alison from Sheffield (01 June 2018)

I had a very peaceful holiday. the location is ideal for exploring the whole of northumberland. hopefully it won't be spoilt by expansion. I would recommend this location to anyone.
Helen from Leicester (26 May 2018)

The brockenfield country park is a quiet park. if you have children there is quite a large outdoor activity area. there is also a new club house which is a suitable size for the size of the park.
Lorna from Brighton (25 May 2018)

Very peaceful location, take food with you as nearest supermarket 9 miles away. New bar open , which was closed when we wanted to use it. Very well maintained, staff very accommodating. Current landscaping work marred the perfection . just off a1 so ideal for exploring the area.
Kim from Matlock (18 May 2018)

Lovely little site. very close to a1. car definitely needed, pretty much in the middle of nowhere
Julie from Sutton In Ashfield (12 May 2018)

Perfect location for sightseeing . lovey quiet sight. Helpful staff. All good.
Hilda from Crook. County Durham (21 April 2018)

Lovely site woodland surroundings, quiet and peaceful but close enough to main towns , alnwick and morpeth. Shame weather was so bad though site being developed and extended.

Location was fine with the hot tub the main attraction for both children and adults. Just felt that a little more could be going on around the site in facilities for children plus if a club house is built with a bar for night time activity for families this would improve the overall facility.

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, it was the perfect weekend for her, we all had a great time, lodge was immaculate & had everything needed, with good quality furnishings, really cant fault anything. Staff couldnt be more helpful, very friendly. We would definitely recommend & hopefully will be back again soon but next time we'll get the hot tub :)

Having picked the worst week to go on holiday thanks to the beast from the east we were left without water one day because a pipe had frozen. One of the site managers came up to have a look, went back to get a heat gun and tried to defrost the pipe, after about fifteen minutes he asked us to try the water ,it still didn't work .he said he didn' t want to try anymore in case it burst the pipes. He said he would try to get us access to another caravan so we could get some water. Two hours passed and we still hadn't heard anything ,so I went down to the reception. I was then told they couldn't do anything for us ,as all the caravans were in the same condition . I asked the lady then if she could sort some water out for us which she later did.it was brought up to us by one of the workers on the site ,he saw our situation and offered to help, he took of the frozen pipe and took it to his caravan to defrost . he came back later with the defrosted pipe and reattached it and at last we had water again. I asked if he had water in his caravan he said yes also the lady in the caravan in front of us had water also. So we were lied to. We feel if it wasn't for dave ,we would have been left with no water until it defrosted naturally ,which could have been a while with the temperature not due to rise above freezing for the next few days. Plus no pillowcases on when we arrived and no remotes for the tv or dvd.

What an absolute delight this place is! we arrived late as staff had kindly warmed the caravan up for us and waiting with the door open. The kids absolutely loved it, cracking location and park facilities superb! . only downside there was no leaflets about local things to do in the caravan, but other than that absolutely superb! i’ve recommended to everyone I know and we will be back! thank you

Silly things were missed like cobwebs and dead flies all over in the bathroom. Cleanliness really let it down but things that could of easily been rectified before our arrival.

Stayed with my family. Was running late, the lady on the phone was friendly and receptive, she put the heating on and was there when called. Very helpful staff, neat and tidy.
Miah from Essex (30 October 2017)

Caravan was clean, warm and comfortable. site manager very friendly and helpful. only slight negative comment is that there were no facilities on site, ie shop. however, plenty of shops a short driving distance away.

We had a great holiday, however, on arrival we had noticed that the fridge door was broken and the fireplace didn’t work, not too crucial as we had central heating which was very good. We reported these defects right away, but nothing was done to remedy them. On the second day our shower room flooded and we were given the opportunity to shower in the next (empty) caravan. Not ideal and didn’t ruin our holiday, but we wouldn’t go back there.

A beautiful location my only criticism was the internet service for which I paid twice for, I was assured I would be re-imbursed but this has not been forthcoming, I wouldn't mind but for 2 of the days we had no connection at all.

Caravan clean small tv not many cooking trays for oven. The site was quiet not much to do on site no bar or entertainment
Richard (15 September 2017)

Lovely peaceful place to stay. Well positioned for getting around northumberland. Only difficulty is turning right onto the busy a1. That took a while! really happy with the accommodation.
Rose from Lytham (11 September 2017)

Site is good but will be better once shop etc has been built
Thomas from Stanley (09 September 2017)

We had leak in the bathroom which was reported but never fixed, the beds and sofa were uncomfortable. The only time anybody was on reception was on arrival and when we left.
Gail from Huddersfield (08 September 2017)

Had a lovely relaxing time, think the van was pretty new & well kitted out. Hot tub would have been nice but I knew before going that none were available. We were situated on what looked like a new extension. There was one van to the right & 4 opposite, all with living area at other end so no one looking straight at us. I'm not sure if I would have been so relaxed in the main part of the site, they seem ever so close, not much privacy. Things could be improved with screening, hedges, trees, etc.
David from Bournemouth (04 September 2017)

This was a lovely little park and handy for using as a base to get around northumberland. It was tidy clean and very quiet.
Daniel from Sheffield (01 September 2017)

Nice quiet park ideal for young children. the play area is excellent. Only downside is nowhere really to walk the dog
Geoff from Newton Aycliffe (25 August 2017)

The caravan was fine, clean. Not ideal for two small children, one who sleeps in a travel cot. There was no room to put the cot apart from the sitting area which is not ideal. It needed up being squashed in the main bedroom.
Cathryn from Northampton (25 August 2017)

I booked a caravan with a veranda, I have no complaint over the actual caravan but there was no veranda. I booked with my elderly parents who like to sit outside, they where unable to do this which was very disappointing. Also the caravan had french doors, which when opened had at least a three foot drop, with a young daughter I was frightened to actually open them. I am aware they will eventually complete the work around the caravan, but you can understand when I booked it I thought the work would have been done. Very disappointing
Sharron from Middlesbrough (18 August 2017)

First visit for us to northumbria. We thoroughly enjoyed it, loads to see and do, from castle's to seaside towns to big cities. The site is just off the a1 so there is easy access to the surrounding area. The caravan we were in was beyond the play park and screened from the road by a stream and a small woodland so there was virtually no road noise.
Julia from Warminster (12 August 2017)

This is a lovely little park, very quiet and peaceful. The caravan was really good nicely furnished and very clean. . I would highly recommended this park
Sarah from Sheffield (07 August 2017)

Lovely quiet place to stay
Sally from Pontefract (05 August 2017)

Very pleasant park. Only point to note is the playback chute which needs to be drained.
Brian from Manchester (31 July 2017)

This was our fourth time at bockenfield
Sandra from Bolton (28 July 2017)

We were looking for somewhere quiet in a beautiful location to explore northumberland & this ticked all the boxes. We absolutely loved our stay & hope to go back very soon.
Yvonne from Glasgow (21 July 2017)

Excellent caravan on a park that is still developing, just off a main road but not too much noise. good base for exploring, would stay here again.
Lorraine from Blackburn (21 July 2017)

Good location for a base. Very nice caravan. Site will be nice once it's finished, but no facilities available.
David from Buxton (14 July 2017)

The site is clean & tidy but there are no facilities ( shop/clubhouse etc ). the location is well sited for the a1 to travel to historical sites.
Jeffrey from Huddersfield (14 July 2017)

Very good value for money.
Angela (10 July 2017)

This was our first holiday to this area. plenty to do in the surrounding area and all fairly easy to find and get to. The play park was ideal for the kids.
Denise from Inverurie (08 July 2017)

The most beautiful location. Excellent accommodation and wonderful staff. I have booked to return already.
Julie from Sheffield (19 June 2017)

A late deal, lovely location, quiet no bar but a nice walk through past a lake to adjacent site that has a bar if you want to use it.a great caravan atlas, would definitely recommend.
William from Ormskirk (16 June 2017)

I found that the caravan was very good and even though there was still working on the site it was very quiet. However, all the caravan's are going to have hot tubs and I feel the quietness of the site will change. As a dog owner my biggest disappointment was not having a proper facility to walk my dog-dog walk. This came as a bit of a shock as the site is surrounded by an ancient woods but there is no obvious access to go and have a quiet walk with your dog. Also the access to the local amenities is by going on the very busy a1.
Jeanine from Rotherham (03 June 2017)

Park is situated off the a1 which can be difficult getting out of at busy times. good location for visiting places of interest and the coast of northumberland. nicely kept, quiet park with lots of birdsong.
Janice from Leeds (27 May 2017)

At short notice before our trip we had to change accommodation due to the withdrawal of the unit we had originally booked. that meant a switch from a lodge to a caravan. the caravan was well-appointed, and whilst I have no complaint, with hindsight we should have cancelled and booked elsewhere. there were a couple of faults which were not fixed during our stay - smoke alarm not connected and electric fire fused - and I would have expected them to have been resolved. the location was a little disappointing as it is still being developed. the caravan was pretty comfortable though and the heating overcame some challenging weather (snow in the last week of april!). a good base for the places we wanted to visit, even if a little remote.
Kim from Coventry (28 April 2017)

We really loved waking up to the peace and sound of a running stream.
Kayleigh from Hull (24 April 2017)

We enjoyed our stay michael was very helpful the site is very peaceful even though there is some renovations being done. I would only add that people should not throw there rubbish as there was some in the river including plastic bags which can harm the wild life.
Lois from Manchester (24 April 2017)

The mobile was a poor mobile, having stayed in quite a number before, and it was ill prepared, no gas!: not enough mugs; not enough glasses; no pans .
Vaughn from Altrincham (17 April 2017)

We had a great short break over the easter weekend. The caravan was lovely and well appointed. The site is small and peaceful. It was handy for all the attractions we wanted to visit - cragside, the farne islands and alnwick. The only slight drawback was that we had to drive to get a meal as no restaurant on site - we were aware of this.
Jackie from Carlisle (17 April 2017)

Good for dog walking, kids play area, kind staff, near to attractions
Lin from Washington (14 April 2017)

My original booking was not available so the part of the site where my caravan was located was a bit of a building site. There was no bedding in the caravan and we had to find the site manager to report this.
John from Broxburn (10 April 2017)

To quiet could do with bar/restaurant
Alex (25 February 2017)

Fantastic caravan..very clean..helpful staff..would definitely stay again
Bev (10 February 2017)

We could have really enjoyed our stay as we have done before if we had been accommodated in different lodge.
Philip from Halifax (27 December 2016)

Everything was perfect except the weather which is something that we cannot control. The caravan was reasonably clean and very well equipped. the staff was friendly and offer us a warm welcome. Yes I will come again and recommend to all with family or other.
Salimata (27 December 2016)

We booked in at bockenfield country park for a last-minute getaway. The location provided the perfect springboard to tourist spots in northumberland, including bamburgh castle, cragside and the northeast coast.
Claire from Scarborough (30 September 2016)

A small, beautifully kept site with friendly, helpful staff. there is no problem whatsoever with its location near the a1. in fact this makes it easy to reach surrounding areas. we love this area anyway, but don't want it spreading it around!
David from Mansfield, Notts. (17 September 2016)

Wonderfull park and suroundings the staff are the nicest people you could wish for and our lodge was just perfect and even the weather was perfect
Rita (12 September 2016)

Nice park situated of a1 a fraindy welcome
Peter from Grimsby (10 September 2016)

In a good spot at the side of the a1 so very good access to lots of places. Very quiet site, which is what we like. Would be nice to get a bigger discount when there are only 2 of us!
Gail from Kirkby-In-Ashfield (09 September 2016)

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very clean well maintained caravans. Perfect location for easy reach to all of northumberland. Visiting again in a few months.
Laura from Derby (03 September 2016)

Got a very friendly greeting on arrival and was shown to our caravan which was in excellent condition and looked great. Location was fantastic and the kids loved the pirate ship play area. Only a short drive from lots of different days out making this a great base for a holiday and we will certainly be coming back again.
Martin from Darlington (29 August 2016)

We loved our holiday at bockenfield . the staff were so helpful and friendly . the caravan park was in the perfect place for days out . in between alnwick and morpeth . . would definitely recommend this site to my family and friends . we would also stay there again .
Hayley from Plymouth (13 August 2016)

Nice place. . premium location. The rooms is a bit small but it is a wonderful holiday lodge . the manager is very lovely person and helpful , we will gladly go back agian and again.
Abdul from Reading (13 August 2016)

Great location on a site run by very friendly and helpful owners.
Darrel from Belper (16 July 2016)

Lovely quiet site, very well maintained, with an excellent location
Hazel from Penicuik, Scotland (15 July 2016)

Fabulous staff, lovely location for exploring many places, clean, comfy accommodation - we all had a great time!!
Diane from Manchester (15 July 2016)

Conveniently situated midway between morpeth and alnwick just off the a1, the site is welcoming, clean and attractive. many places of interest are within a short driving distance. facilities on the site are limited to a play area for children. this has the advantage of making it a tranquil place to relax. from a driver's perspective it should be noted that approaching the site from the north, care should be taken on entering the layby leading to the main entrance, as the turn is a sharp left off the a1 (speed limit 60 mph).
John from Kenilworth (09 July 2016)

Absolutely fine
Geoffrey (18 June 2016)

Lovely van, nice spot but very little else in site to do. Despite that we had a great base to explore the surrounding area
David from Preston (16 May 2016)

Very peaceful and quiet location.
Nina from Hull (16 May 2016)

Really nice site.caravan very modern and clean and on a large plot. Staff very helpful and efficient. not for those who need a bar and entertainment but a great place to relax and to visit northumberland.
Barrie from Pontefract (25 April 2016)

Excellent location for visiting alnwick castle . . pleasant campsite layout , shame no eating /take away venue on site probably there isn't anything as this park seems more of an owners park than a holiday camp. . our main issue was the early check-in between 2 + 4 pm would have preferred being able arrive anytime up to say 8pm without prior arrangement
Lynn from Chester (18 April 2016)

We had a fantastic break in a beautiful holiday park. The staff were all friendly and our holiday home was fantastic. We would definitely recommend staying there to anyone
Paul from North Tyneside (18 April 2016)

Lovely park with limited facilities but very well placed for touring.
Andy from Sheffield (08 April 2016)

Great spot for a quick break. Very clean and tidy.
Jayne (04 April 2016)

We had a great time at the park. My two granddaughters liked being able to go to the park safely on their own. The lady who greeted us was extremely helpful and friendly. There was lots of room for everyone in the lodge, was very clean and well equipped. Would highly recommend a visit.
Dorothy from Lincolnshire (28 March 2016)

Robert from Largs (30 December 2015)

Good central location. Lovely and clean accommodation. Very helpful and friendly staff. We would go back, but think it would be more attractive and would benefit from a club house.

We had a fantastic stay at bockenfield. Staff were very friendly, beautiful surroundings and would definitely recommend this site. The only problem was we felt the caravan was on the small side to sleep 6 adults. There was 4 of us and it was a nice size for 4 but would've been a squash if there was 6. But otherwise everything was great. Would definitely go back.

Small to be classed as a country park our caravan was away from the main area, unlit at night and near a area been developed on. There were no communal bins near by so we left rubbish out to be collected as the neighbouring vans did but this was not collected all week. Asked a member of staff who adv me to leave the rubbish in side until the cleaners came. This is no good with nappies..

Very clean, well equipped accommodation. Location is very convenient for accessing sights of northumbria and newcastle. The staff are very welcoming, caring and nothing is too much for them. Only down side is the site is close to a main road which means an element of traffic noise. However, as we slept so well after full days out, the traffic noise wasn't too bothersome.

The park was nice and quiet but not an easy turn off the a1. Because of the a1 it is not possible to cycle directly from the park. We were not disturbed by traffic on the main road.
