Love the place
Jeff from Chesterfield (01 October 2016)

This is the second time that we have been to black rock beach resort and loved every minute of it. The villa was brilliant, comfortable and very clean. The modern decor was lovely and everything was thought of right down to the complementary coffee, tea and biscuits. the beach restaurant had brilliant staff who treated us like friends rather than customers and the food was gorgeous. Can't wait to go back again.
Gillian from Portishead (30 September 2016)

Had an excellent time great place will be returning again, planning to make a regular visit to black rock
Chris from Cardiff (30 September 2016)

It is in the best location - it is a lovely resort even out of season
Janice from Marlow (26 September 2016)

While a sea view was pleasant, the location was not great and the design of the accommodation is fundamentally flawed by having decking on the bedroom roof. It was a miserable experience having people playing music, dancing and talking until sunrise. I will never go here again as it impossible to sleep if you are unlucky enough to selfish, inconsiderate neighbours.
Dean from Salisbury (26 September 2016)

We could not fault our stay at black rock beach resort. It was far better than we thought it would be. It was spotlessly clean, modern and we were provided with everything we needed for our stay. Would reccomend it to anyone. Thank you.
Valerie from Dawlish, Devon (26 September 2016)

The accommodation and setting are superb. My only reservation would be if I were allocated accomodation at a higher elevation as my mobility is a little impaired. the cafe has an excellent chef and can cater for the most discerning palate. the facility of a draught beer bar would be an advantage as would a shop to buy basic foodstuffs. I would return as I like the quietitude in a frantically busy county.
Roy from Portishead (23 September 2016)

Had a great holiday , thank you
Charlotte from Banbury (23 September 2016)

A very nice relaxing holiday. Beach cafe was a bonus with extremely nice staff.
Alan from Southampton (23 September 2016)

It was nice to stay so close to a beach. Lovely view overlooking the sea
Dave from Southampton (16 September 2016)

Spent a short break here and couldn't have asked for better (other than the weather!). everything was very clean and tidy, very well equipped and had a surprising number of plug sockets! most places I go to seem to not have enough sockets to charge phones, laptops etc. the beach is clean with no dogs allowed in season which was perfect and the beach itself is raked over too. the view was lovely and there are some lovely walks. would like to go back in the height of season as this is when the beach bar is open. well worth a visit!
Angela from Romford (16 September 2016)

More information for late arrivals would be good. I picked the key up for the villa from the cafe, but they had no idea where the villa was situated. A map and maybe a welcome letter would of been good. . other than that, fantastic place.
Aidan (16 September 2016)

Very nice location, quiet and peaceful, excellent facilities in apartment and would recommend to friends.
Nick from Maidstone (16 September 2016)

Had a great time place was amazing and villa was really clean and just like the pictures going back in january and later in year to cant wait.. one disappointment was no kayak man tried to get in touch on the calmest day but no reply :-( really wanted to try it but this is separate to the park its self
Jo from Portsmouth (12 September 2016)

Having stayed before we expected to see the beach. We saw the sea between the trees. As my wife suffers from asthma caused by tree pollen .we were opposite the sewer pumps which didn't help with clean air. There was no lighting on steps lodge number was not clearly marked. We had to call an ambulance but no phone signal(this with top of range mobile)no land lines. Ambulance people said steps where dangerous to carry person down. So all in all we did not enjoy the stay and will not be going again. This definitely did not come up to your usual standards
David from Portsmouth (10 September 2016)

Fab
Angela (09 September 2016)

Wonderful holiday lots to do in the area.really enjoyed coastal path walk to looe.
Linda from Dunstable Beds (09 September 2016)

The location is a small and relatively unspoilt beach, reached by a narrow winding road. The nearby hillside is covered with chalets, each having a patio with a sea view. Given the layout of the resort, some of the sea views would best be described as 'distant'. . the resort chalets have been refurbished to a high standard with modern amenities including well equipped kitchens. Everything is clean and well presented on arrival. . . customers should be aware that access to the chalets is by steps -- up to four flights to the highest level -- and that they are expected to carry their own luggage up and down the steps. If this could cause you difficulty I would suggest making enquiries with the resort to find a chalet on the lowest level.
Garry (09 September 2016)

It wasn't exactly what we were looking for. The resort was good but just not what we were looking for. . thanks
Nilakshi (06 September 2016)

Very nicely decorated, home from home with everything you could think of including a dish washer and washing machine. Although was looking in need of a little tlc but having said that we did go at the end of the school holidays. The cleaner obviously didn't do cobwebs or cigarette ends as we were left with 5 or 6 to get rid in the plant pots on the patio and a few cobwebs to brush away and our children were left a little disappointed as the bunk beds had been split down to 2 single beds. However, none of this really spoilt our holiday. . . . the view from our apartment was stunning with a lovely large patio area (big enough to put another apartment on) and we could see the private beach/sea. And was ideal to relax on at the end of the day. . . . these apartments wouldn't be any good if you struggle with steps or had small children/a pushchair as there were about 50 steps to our floor. . all in all very much enjoyed our holiday home for 7 days.
Denice from Staffs (03 September 2016)

Lovely resort , the accomadation looked just like in the pictures and was clean. At night the resort was quiet. We had lovely views over the bay. The beach was clean and well maintained. Looe is about 20 - 25 minute walk along the coastal path which is quite hilly at parts. we were with our 7 and 8 year old so we mostly drove into looe. Given the opportunity, we would come again.
Customer 21 from Manchester (03 September 2016)

An excellent beach in fantastic surroundings, we really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the sea. Great service at the beach café also!
Martin (03 September 2016)

Beautiful location, need a car to get out and about. The beach bar is small and expensive. Villa furniture and beds very good, hob oven and windows definitely needed a good clean.
Sarah from Northampton (02 September 2016)

Lovely relaxing holiday with everything you need close at hand.
Emma (02 September 2016)

We spent a week at the black rock beach resort which is stunningly beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. The beach is so close and we enjoyed sitting at the bar on the beach having a local cider while enjoying the scenery. The villa we stayed in had everything you would want and expect for a weeks holiday and on first appearances was bright, clean and modern. However, the only complaint we have about our holiday was that on closer inspection the villa had not been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. The fridge had bits of food debris and someones old yogurts. There were hairs on the lamp shades and in the bed. The sheet on the mattress did not fit properly so came off during the night and had no mattress protector. The apparent white sheets also had dull stains on them when you looked at them closely. The mirror in the bathroom had toothpaste spittal and marks. All these were small things but just made us wonder if anything had actually been cleaned or not. Please black rock resort, get yourself a new cleaner and I would have given you 10/10 for everything!
Jenny from Nottingham (02 September 2016)

Fantastic place and beautiful location!!
Laura (02 September 2016)

Our apartment was beautifully presented and almost on top of the beach so the view was amazing over the bay. We were also lucky enough to have a single one so no climbing up steep steps to access it every time!. . the children had fun hiring body boards a few times as the cost was reasonable and we found a short (but steep) walk into looe that we enjoyed. . the shop on resort is really compact and doesn't have much variety at all. Essentials are covered such as milk, but for anything extra i'd recommend bringing it with you. The cafe is on the expensive side for drinks, even for a cafe, but all of the staff across the resort are extremely friendly and helpful. Soon the bar should open, sitting on the new terrace for that would be relaxing overlooking the bay - the work in progress was looking good. . we would definitely return, we had a lovely week at black rock sands
Robert (02 September 2016)

Brilliant time, it's just the beach caffee that let's it down with rip off prices, could also benefit with a swimming pool
Russell from Heywood (27 August 2016)

Looked like a 1970's housing estate, tired and run down. Over priced. Inside villa bit more updated .
Nicola from Darlington (22 August 2016)

So pretty and excellent accommodation
Louise (15 August 2016)

We had a lovely relaxing time at this quiet, scenic resort. It was so nice waking to the sound of the waves and to have the beach right on the doorstep. lots to do in the surrounding area and looe has everything you need if you don't want to wander too far. The office staff were helpful and friendly.
Vicky from Sheffield (13 August 2016)

2nd visit to black rock and yet again had a great time. Accommodation spotless and everything you would want to help make a great stay. Watersports at the beach was great, good value for money and very safe. . visited the bistro a couple of times which again offered great food and service. . all in all great holiday and will definitely return.
Abigail from Birmingham (13 August 2016)

Lovely views and beautiful houses
Sjon from Holland (13 August 2016)

Accomodation great and clean, not the best looking from the outside but that's all. Beach not the cleanest although good vibe and atmosphere on the seafront. Nearest shop about a mile away. Great nice and quiet stay in good quality accommodation within easy reach of the south of cornwall. About 75 mins from st ives and 60 mins to padstow and 40 mins to eden project.
Roger from Chelmsford (13 August 2016)

Beautiful setting with stunning views..i will definitely be going back. the decor in the apartments was done to a high standard and was very clean & bright. loved every minute.
Debbie from Stafford/Staffordshire (12 August 2016)

Very lovely resort. accommodation was really nice. the only complaint was the amount of dust and dirt left under the sofa. I had to clean this on our first day. it would have been nice to have a hoover for our stay so we could keep it clean as wooden floors attract dust and sand etc. we were given hand soap, towels, tea, coffee and a tea towel which was absolutely brilliant. the staff were very helpful and the views from our villa were stunning. very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Carey from Oxfordshire (09 August 2016)

Amazing holiday and lovely location. Accommodation was clean and beautifully decorated
Lisa from Bexley (06 August 2016)

What a great place to stay we are going back next year. . the water sports people were fantastic and priced very good,
John from Cabourne (06 August 2016)

Loved it!
Jaycee from Corby (06 August 2016)

Had a lovely holiday and couldn't have asked for a better location so close to the beach. Lots to do close by.
Amy from Peterborough (06 August 2016)

We had a lovely week at black rock, helped by several sunny days in a row! the apartment was clean and modern, well equipped and had a nice shower. Perfect small villa for a week away. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and would return again. I am glad our children are not toddlers as the steep steps up to villas wouldn't be much fun with pushchairs or small children!
Lisa from Swindon (06 August 2016)

Great value - villa was outstanding quality in great location
Keith from East Boldon (06 August 2016)

Lovely view, good location and apartment was well presented. Will visit again.
Margaret (05 August 2016)

Fantastic holiday here in july 2016. I hope the prices remain competitive as it was excellent value for money. The quality of the fixtures and fittings second to none. Brilliant location with stunning views. Can't wait to return in the future.
Christopher from Wigan (30 July 2016)

Absolutely loved it here. We booked a villa with bunk beds. It looked just like the photos. You can see the beach and sea from the balcony. The beach bar was not ready for when we were there however it was a work in progress. You can walk in to looe along the coastal path which is a bit hilly or it is a short drive. Children loved the beach being so close and visited most evenings. Little touches like washing up liquid and soap were very thoughtful. We were all sad to leave. My only advise would be to have a gate at the entrance of the balcony as having a 2 year old he just wanted to run off and the steps down at the end were quite steep so had to keep the table pushed against it so he stayed on the balcony area.
Julie-Anne from Rugby (30 July 2016)

Nice beach. no on-site shop. restaurant/cafe very expensive. ok coastal walks - not the best. had to go in car to get anywhere. looe nice. surrounding area of resort nothing there, very narrow roads.
Nicholas from Sheffield (30 July 2016)

Lovely setting for a relaxing holiday with plenty of space. A play ground/area for children would be a good addition and not distract from the surrounding beach
Neil from Wales (30 July 2016)

The apartment was lovely and modern. The beach cafe had lovely food and I would highly recommend it. The beach was nice and you can hire boats. Disappointed there wasn't an outdoor pizza restaurant as advertised on website.
Angela (29 July 2016)

Lovely, chilled out holiday. . . staff couldn't have been more accommodating. . . beach pretty much all to the guests own and a great beach front cafe / restaurant. . well worth the (long) drive down from the north east - highly recommended!
Amanda (29 July 2016)

Lovely clean and modern accommodation in a beautiful location
Sarah from Mid Glamorgan (29 July 2016)

The villas are lovely but pulling up in the car to see the outside of the villas was upsetting. . you pay your hard earned money on a family holiday and the first impression for us was a disappointment. . what would it take to paint the walls, railings and put a few plants out for a warm welcome. . families drive miles and the little touches make all the difference but that was our opinion. . an on site shop would have been handy but we had bought our own food so we survived. . the villas made the holiday bearable but for what you pay I little more effort could be made and from other comments no I will not whine about the amount of steps but after a long drive lugging your cases up 60 steps is not what you want to be doing. . I had really looked forward to this holiday a villa by the beach but we also were the farthest villa away from the beach as we requested to be moved but even at the first villa we were not what you would call close to the beach. Spent most of our time in looe and going out just to get away. . the inside of the villas were immaculate so kept focused on that and being with my family.
Amanda from Somerset (29 July 2016)

Not much you çan do in the beach resort except for surfing ( which doesn't go with every holiday makers) and the going to the cafe. No activities for little kids, no swimming pool. The villa is too small even the 2 bedroom one. No washing machine( not convenient like other holiday lodges )no hair dryer. Too expensive for for the size of the villa and lackness of a lot of things and activities to do, you really need to go outside to enjoy the place. Good thing that the nearby caravan park allows outsider to accommodate to hire their swimming pool.
Jocelyn (29 July 2016)

We loved it, great well maintained lodge, so easy to get to the beach and to looe on foot. Great family holiday
Julie from Leicester (23 July 2016)

The resort is really good with an enclosed beach and friendly staff. With a bit more investment the resort could be of a really high standard.
Adele from Rotherham (23 July 2016)

Very good holiday made even better by the weather! would not be as much fun in the rain!
Mark from Rhyl (23 July 2016)

Great place beautiful surroundings and just a minute to the beach. Lovely to hear and see the sea from villa. . will definitely return next year.
Kelly from Leicester (23 July 2016)

Brilliant villas, clean and tidy on arrival. . location is perfect for a quiet getaway or chilled family holiday with a lovely private beach. The beach cafe serves wonderful food, with very helpful friendly staff. Can't wait to book again!
Richard from Swadlincote Derbyshire (23 July 2016)

An excellent place to stay for a family with young children. The beach is the perfect size to keep an eye on them where ever they are playing. Great food at the black rock cafe bar. With brilliant staff. Would definitely go back. Try and get a villa close to the beach.
Mark from Doncaster (23 July 2016)

Lovely place to stay and the bistro serves beautiful food in the evening. Overall lovely holiday and we would definitely return
Helen from Mansfield (22 July 2016)

Downside was lack of restaurant/café other than small one, or food shop which meant a drive out in evenings if we didn't want to cook.
Alan from Seaford (16 July 2016)

3 rd visit.hopefully 4th later this year
Jeff from Chesterfield (16 July 2016)

Resort was perfect for us as a family with 2 children (ages 9 & 6). was great to have the beach so close, although it was disappointing that the watersports were not available until the english schools were on holiday, great base for exploring cornwall.
Julie from Fife (16 July 2016)

Lovely apartments clean and tidy with everything needed. More needed on site for those days that are not warm enough for the beach
Elizabeth from Carluke (16 July 2016)

Accomodation was modern ,clean and tidy with stunning views over the bay.
Steve from Kettering (15 July 2016)

Lovely villa, clean and has all the requirements. quiet location. Great view from the front of villqa. 2 adults and 2 kids 17, 12 had a very comfortable stay. Very close to loo town. Small beach close by.
Rizvi from Small Beach Close By. (15 July 2016)

Fantastic.
Michelle from Bristol (15 July 2016)

Excellent refurbished villa, with great patio and outstanding views of the sea. Great location in a quiet bay, with the beach and sea only a few metres away. Very good café/ restaurant also on site, if a little expensive. The coastal walk also passes through the bay and its a short 1.5 mile walk into looe.
Alan from Leeds (15 July 2016)

Lovely location, the beach cafe sold delicious food and according to the kids the best ice cream!
Claire (15 July 2016)

The apartment was great very well equipped. Nice and quiet. Found the location a bit remote quite far to drive to other places but great if you just want to stay local.
Linda from New Zealand (15 July 2016)

Amazing location and private beach is wonderful. It is very hilly though. Villa was lovely. Would stay again.
Gregory (15 July 2016)

Lovely location and surrounding area, weather was amazing ( we were so lucky:). not much facilities, small shop ( expensive when buying ice creams /emergency toiletries etc) . black rock cafe was dissapionting on this visit( we had stayed 2 years previous and found menu /staff and price very reasonable and food amazing) this time very expensive ( example main meal about 16.95 drinks very overpriced example £15+ for two drinks and child drink ) we don't mind paying but when food is just ok and main staff ie managers a bit aloof ,on a few occasions they were rude /flippant to customers who dared to be not happy with something or other or question something ,bit of an uncomfortable feeling really, waiting on staff lovely though,it's a bit off putting especially when there's no other local place to eat ,but suppose that's why they can charge more as there's no completion could do with a bit more cheery customer service and lower prices ,considering it's not a high end part of cornwall it's overall too expensive ( have stayed at other more desirable areas watergate bay /st ives and have eaten for much less )for families it can work out very expensive to eat at the cafe daily or for just a snack. Paddle boarding /kayacking was very reasonable as were sunbed /deck chair hire :)
Suzanne from Not Much Facilities,Small Shop ( Expensive When Bu (15 July 2016)

The villa was exactly as shown in the pictures, we were equipped with all food and drink for our weekend stay as you are limited to local shops and the beach restaurant/ shop was pretty pricey and didn't stock bread. The beach/ staff were all welcoming and we would definitely return.
Katie from Leicester (11 July 2016)

We arrived earlier than the stated checking in time by a few hours, but we were allowed to check in early which was fab!! . the villa was greally comfortable & luxurious!. we asked if there was a travel cot available & when we got to the villa there was a brand new one for us!! we will definitely be back!
Claire from Tonypandy (11 July 2016)

All good should of stayed for a longer break
Mike from Chatteris (11 July 2016)

Really nice place not much about , went to buy a drink from the shop and they tried to charge me nearly £16 for 4 bottles of san miguel, when I questioned the price the man working there said "well we don't buy them from asda" , maybe you should then.
Luke from Daventry (11 July 2016)

The setting was fantastic but could with ramps to get your suitcase up to top villas.70 steps not good.
Raymond from Redditch (09 July 2016)

Very relaxing setting waking up to the sound of the waves. less than 30mins walk along the coastal path into looe with some stunning views along the way. will definitely be back to explore more of this part of cornwall.
Joanna from Sutton Coldfield (09 July 2016)

We enjoyed our stay there. staff are very friendly and helpful. . . a lovely cafe/restaurant there. the owner and staff are so friendly it is definitely the sunny spot there to chill out for my son and i. . when we arrived we have to look around for the reception as it was not clearly signed at the entrance to the car park.
Shirley from Camberley (08 July 2016)

Beautiful apartments luckily I stayed on the bottom tier, youd have to be quite fit to make it to the upper apartments , I do have dodgy knees, but would recommend to friends and family as had a lovely peaceful stay
Gillian from Liverpool (08 July 2016)

A lids playground would be great
Jade (08 July 2016)

We had a lovely holiday, thank you!
Emma from Lancaster (08 July 2016)

Brilliant holiday at black rock in the newly refurbished villa, had everything we needed and more! had more cooking equipment than I have at home, not like we actually cooked as looe is a 5 minute drive from the resort so was perfect! epically with the lush coastal path on your doorstep :)
Harry from Bridgwater (04 July 2016)

Beautiful location, superb accommodation.
Keith from London (02 July 2016)

The site is pretty remote but beautiful setting . the accommodation was as brochure described and had everything you needed (an outdoor now would of been a bonus) . we only met one members of staff all week but they were very pleasant we would definitely stay here agsin
Erica from St Ives (02 July 2016)

The resort is in a lovely location, very peaceful. I think the resort could do with some more facilities for children such as a play park.
Daniel from Portsmouth (02 July 2016)

The resort is quite nice but the weather while we were there in june was very hit and miss. There wasn't much to do on rainy days.
Rhonda from London (02 July 2016)

On arriving at the park the initial appearance was of a work in progress with some villas having been fully renovated but a great many more in need of a facelift. However, the welcome of the staff was very warm and the allocated villa superb. beautifully equipped, clean and welcoming. the huge deck was wonderful, furnished well and became an extension of the villa for the whole week and the promised view of the beach and sea had not been exagerated. The cafe/bistro was disappointing. we called in for a drink, but despite being quiet, found it very unwelcoming and just drank up and left never to return. . the shop was also disappointing and not to be relied on as really only sells buckets, spades, sweets and ice cream and strangely handbags !!! . however we had a fantastic week, would book and stay again and have strongly recommended to a good friend.
Elizabeth from Bingham, Nottingham (01 July 2016)

Would visit again excellent property and excellent food at the black rock cafe. A nice to have would have been laundry facilities locally but it isn't a show stopper.
Matt from Bicester (01 July 2016)

Spent a lovely week at the resort which acted as a great base for exploring cornwall. The resort was quiet and secluded with a small but nice beach on site. There isn't anything in the way of 'facilities' on site but it's a nice walk along the coast into nearby looe. Went to the on site bistro for dinner and breakfast on our visit a few times- was great and couldn't recommend highly enough!
Casey from Kent (01 July 2016)

We found this gem on a last minute deal, and what a lovely place to stay. With just a quarter mile stroll along the coast path to looe.
Richard from Hereford (01 July 2016)

Lovely location. Black rock cafe servers the most amazing fish stew and tapas right on the beach. Staff welcoming and friendly. Accommodation first class. Good quality all round. The only downside is that is most definitely no good for anyone with mobility difficulties. The beach is not really any good for families the sand is really gritty and stone and covered in dead seaweed. Could do with a good cleanup.
Mary from Plymouth (01 July 2016)

Good location on the beach and very close to looe which was handy! the beach café and shop were a little disappointing, with scones running out and staff not hugely helpful, but overall a great set up at black rock beach!
Mel from London (01 July 2016)

Beautiful location and views. Apartment decorated to a high standard. Very comfortable furniture in living room, super comfortable bed. Bistro was most excellent too, with good food, service, decor and very well priced.
Brian from Walton On Thames (25 June 2016)

Great accomadation, but the surrounding grounds and chalets really let it down. The beach restaurant was excellent, the staff great so no complaints there. But we really enjoyed our stay here, just not tempted to return because of the shabbiness of rest of site. Many thanks ciaran
Ciaran from North Warwickshire (25 June 2016)

Very good location if you're a couple. Lots of steps up to properly we were in but helped burn off pasties. Amazing view of bay. Black rock cafe was amazing, great food and very nice staff.
Sarah from Westbury On Severn (20 June 2016)

Yes lovely apartment so comfy rooms, kitchen, . site needs a good tidy up. Think this is going to happen. Worth the price we paid lovely location. Quiet, helpful staff,
Wendy from Portsmouth (20 June 2016)

The view from where we stayed was excellent ,a very serene part of britain unspoilt although hidden from the main road and it is not difficult to see why people enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the cornish coastline. We would definitely recommend , a stay to anyone wanting to stay on the cornish coastline ,
Annette from Cardiff (18 June 2016)

Beautiful location in the curve of looe, quiet and relaxing, ideal for families, couples and elderly retreat. A perfect allrounder. . apartment was very clean and had all amenities with a spectacular view. Will be returning with my family next year :)
Luke from Hampshire (17 June 2016)

Had a lovely stay, the accomodation was amazing
Susan (10 June 2016)

Super weather, great location & nice accommodation
Robert from Portsmouth (10 June 2016)

Peace and serenity.. our holiday accommodation was lovely, the staff at the park were cheerful and helpful. . it was great sitting outside on the deck or inside in the lounge, watching and listening to the sea. The restaurant at the beachside was fabulous and a great end to a relaxing day.
Leonie from Amesbury, Wiltshire (10 June 2016)

Accommodation is stunning. We were right on the front so our view was beautiful. The surroundings are very run down as you drive up to it. All the old chalets need knocking down. The cafe was lovely. Food average. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time down there as my partner refused to spend nearly £5 on a small bottle of beer! you don't mind £5 for a pint, normal but a small bottle?! . we would definitely return a great base!
Sharon from Overbury (05 June 2016)

Loved the location and how the chalets have been renovated. Would love to visit again.
Jacqueline from Blandford Forum (04 June 2016)

Nice small and quiet setting, beach is dark sharp sand with rock formations either side. Only small restaurant with little shop and wc block on edge of beach. Plenty of grass to kick ball around. It has large centrally located free parking.
Gintaras from London (04 June 2016)

We really liked the apartment, it's close location to the sea and beautiful views. The only drawback was that on the arrival there was only 3 sets of towels instead of 4 sets. The staff at the main reception was notified of the missing set but it was never brought in so we had to share our 3 sets between the 4 of us :(
Eleonora (04 June 2016)

We had an amazing time with my family. Our villa was incredible with a wicked view . we were lucky as the weather was perfect all week and enjoyed our time at the beach . the only thing is we have a 6 years old and a 1 year old, there wasn't much entertainment for the kids.
Jordan from Leicester (03 June 2016)

Got this last minute. And if to be truthful I wasn't expecting much as when you google earth it etc it does look a bit old and tired. Whoever it's nice to be proven wrong, the apartment has recently been refurnished it was clean and fresh with a really good view over the beach which is a two minute walk barefooted. The beach itself is a little gem with a good mixture of sand and rock pools for the kids to play around in, also whether the tide is in or out it doesn't get to deep to quickly. Looe is just around the corner 5 mins in the car or you can walk along the coast path. The important thing to say is you can see they have spent some money on the place and it looks like they are going to be spending more, but restoration projects take time and I am sure they will get there. With the rest of the villa's . the cafe is good for a coffee or a cheeky glass of wine and found the guys there had really good customer service, try and book though if eating there as it can get busy, also reasonably priced. Some people in other reviews where whinging about the steep steps to there accommodation, yes it has steps as the whole resort is on the side of a valley so if you have a disability or a broken leg you would want a villa closer to the bottom, but for us it was worth it . only let down was the fact they there was no hoover so getting the sand up of the floor that the kids brought in from the beach etc was a challenge. That wouldn't stop me going back though, as we as a family all enjoyed it with even the kids saying they had fun there considering 12 & 9 years old and more interested in x boxes etc for us was a result
Robert from Kent (03 June 2016)

This is a gorgeous place for a holiday. situated on a lovely bay. Accommodation was spotless and very well equipped. We had a fantastic few days here and would not hesitate to return.
Emma from Hertfordshire (03 June 2016)

I would recommend to anybody but one down fall was the staff in the black rock cafe they was rude and very unhelpful.
Mark from Birmingham (03 June 2016)

We had a fantastic holiday the villa was very modern inside and the close proximity to the beach was great for rock pooling and crabbing. The cafe was fantastic with excellent service and food. The only downside was not all of the villas have been renovated so the exterior of some of them weren't very pleasant.
Leisha from Doncaster (03 June 2016)

My family and I absolutely loved it here. The villa was perfect with everything you could possibly need, it was decorated beautifully. We went during half term and was expecting it to be packed but we had the beach virtually to ourselves. I loved it on the beach, with the beach bar for a quick drink. The resturaunt was always fully booked so we didn't eat there but it had a great vibe and view for drinks on the deck. This place is idyllic for a relaxed time at the beach. I didn't want to leave and will definately be going again!
Andrea from Oldham (03 June 2016)

The villa we had was very modern and very clean. the views from the spacious decking were superb. only draw back was the amount of steps we had to climb to reach the villa. black rock beach cafe/restaraunt served brilliant tasty meals and the host leo was very friendly and entertaining .
Gillian from Portishead (03 June 2016)

The villas are very nice and well equipped, the views are spectacular and it's very peaceful and quiet, only downside was the 67 steps to the top villas but this was acceptable because the views are lovely from the top
Catherine from Sheffield (03 June 2016)

The room was super clean and the beds were very comfortable
Yuanyuan from Notts (03 June 2016)

Need a pub . !!!
Barrie from Thame Oxfordshire (28 May 2016)

Accomodation is exactly what you see in the pictures! the villas have been fitted to an excellent standard. Master bedroom is a bit tight but it has room everything you need and the bed is really comfy! beautiful views. Staff are excellent and make everything easy for you. Steps up to the villa are a little steep (especially when 6 months pregnant!) but we were aware of that, and it got me out of carry any bags!! great location with just a very short drive into looe. Would definitly return and recommend highly for a week away in cornwall.
Carly (28 May 2016)

The black rock beach resort is placed directly behind the beach with fantastic views of the sea and beach . it offers the use of sea kayaks and other useful stuff to hire. . the resort has a restaurant and bar with a shop attached and toilet facilities. The restaurant offers a good selection of food and drinks made fresh and to order with the advantage of you being able to book the restaurant for private functions.all in an unpretentious environment with friendly and helpful staff. . . dogs and children are allowed!
Peter (27 May 2016)

First time staying here, perfect as a couples getaway, our villa was immaculate, spotlessly clean, top range electricals, very good customer service, beautiful view from our balcony! overall I was really pleased with our stay, would definitely recommend to others, although not for disabled as the steps are quite steep! but will 100% come back, hopefully next summer!
Emily from Norfolk (27 May 2016)

Lovely modern accommodation spotlessly clean. Fantastic location adjacent to a nice beach which has a great beach cafe, and with the south west coastal path on the doorstep there are great walking opportunities.
Carl from Bristol (16 May 2016)

Had a wonderful time, the villa was lovely and clean with everything we needed, the area was very peaceful, didn't get time to try the cafe but i'm sure will make a return visit!
Dan (15 April 2016)

I went to the resort with my family and we loved it from the villa to the location it was amazing. . we will be coming back very soon.
Simon from London (08 April 2016)

Stunning accommodation with a fantastic location.
Amelia from Wordsley (28 March 2016)

Great place to stay.pleasant and helpful staff. Bistro on site worth a visit, food and service great. Definitely will book again.
Abigail from Birmingham (28 March 2016)

Only beef is I cant sleep in a double with my huge partner. I ended up in a bunk bed lol. . great break away.
Lisa from Maidstone Kent (19 February 2016)

As the resort was not full the staff had taken the trouble to select and make ready the chalet they thought would offer us the best view of the beach. tremendously thoughtful and mightily helpful as the weather was atrocious, blowing gales and pelting rain, and having my elderly mother with us, sitting safely in the warm lounge with the view of the beach and hefty waves was sometimes all we felt like doing! the chalet was spotlessly clean and well equipped. a comfortable stay in a lovely (if rather cold and damp) area of the country. we will happily stay here again.
Barry from Hampshire (29 January 2016)

Lovely new year break. Villas are modern and beautiful but work needs to be done on the entrance and surrounding villas. As was disappointing when you pulled up. But villa we stayed in again was beautifully decorated.
Hayley from Bristol (03 January 2016)

We had an absolutely wonderful time. couldn't not believe how close the chalet was to the beach. it was winter so we didn't get to do any water sports but we went to the bistro a couple of times and it was delightful. the interior of the chalet was newly decorated and it was spotless. I loved this place.
Julian from Dartford (03 January 2016)

Beautiful location and the accommodation is excellent
Leanne from Newport (21 December 2015)

Accommodation was excellent will definitely stay again hopefully beach cafe will be open then
Sam (02 November 2015)

Brilliant accommodation and location. Great communication from site, whom were also kind enough to be on hand to open a dinosaur my nephew purchased which required pliers to extract from box!
Kellie from Coventry (31 October 2015)

The villa was beautifully clean, well laid out and had everything we needed. The only downside was the very steep steps to the top which made carrying luggage up a challenge! fine after the first day though. We'd also recommend people take warm socks or slippers as the floor is quite cold (we were there oct half-term). the heating works well however and the villa itself warms quickly. We loved the tranquil location and the beach was lovely for the boys to rock pool on. We also enjoyed the coastal walk from black rock to looe. . a wonderful, relaxed break away.
Colin from Billingshurst (31 October 2015)

Great base for half term, but unfortunately due to the weather, the water activities were not open/running. The shop was also not open. Would have been great to have eaten in the cafe or grabbed a coffee whilst watching the children play on the beach, but unfortunately it was also closed due to a kitchen fire. Would return when all the facilities are completed and open.
Andrea (30 October 2015)

Good value for money, lovely villa but abit remote and dark on a night as we went at the end of october.
Tom from Leeds (30 October 2015)

Accomodation was unclean and steep steps to villa were unlit. In the trecherous weather conditions that we encountered with young children in the group this was highly dangerous
Melanie from Coventry (30 October 2015)

Had a grt stay here during half term. Is very quiet but beautiful location. Could do with a little park for kids. beach is stunning. cafe was closed.
Lynsey (30 October 2015)

The apartment we stayed in was excellent. fully equipped, modern and right by the beach. the cafe was closed which was a shame because it looked great and was right on the beach. a few things to consider: the apartments are on a steep hillside so there are lots of steps particularly if you are in one of the top apartments, this is really hard work with suitcases. the resort is a work in progress and some of the privately owned apartments are in need of some care and attention. parking is tight particularly in the school holidays. we loved it and would highly recommend.
Craig from Huddersfield (30 October 2015)

Apartment was lovely, very clean and very modern. Didnt look very nice from outside. Area was nice but very remote if looking for lively holiday. Would stay again for chill out break.
Ursula from Cardiff (30 October 2015)

Good place for total relaxation
Anon from Warwickshire (23 October 2015)

Tucked away - shame the cafe was closed due to a fire. Building work going on
Robert (09 October 2015)

Lovely place, 10mins. From beach. Peaceful for the time of year (end of september)
Sheila from Carmarthen, S. Wales (03 October 2015)

Great few days lodge very comfortable and the view amazing. shame cafe had fire. the changes your making to facilities look really great.
Susan from Banbury (02 October 2015)

We stayed in one of the villas and it was perfect for our family of 4, next time we will try and get one a little higher up so we have a better view of the sea. The location is fabulous and the views are stunning. Staff were so helpful from the moment we got there too the day we left ! we plan to return next year and stay for a little longer ! only slight negative is there could be a wider range of foods on the menu in the beach club cafe, but food was good in there
Neil from Hull (28 September 2015)

I was booked into this resort following being let down by a previous cottage owner who decided to cancel last minute. It was most definitely the best thing that could have happened because the location, villa and surroundings was spectacular. I was meeting a friend not seen for 2 years and this place was just perfect for us able to catch up in tranquil surroundings. We stayed for the looe music festival and it was great for location. Of exceptional quality was the black rock beach cafe at the bottom of the villas. When it says cafe, it's not like a cafe you would usually imagine with stunning sea views high quality food and friendly staff. The villa we stayed in was really lovely, clean and welcoming. I'd definitely stay again
Samantha from Manchester (21 September 2015)

Lovely location and the appartment was clean and would definitely book again
Janice (21 September 2015)

Lovely veiws and nice clean villa but too isolated for us. no development happening. The walk to looe across the cliff path not very well sign post and not for the unfit.
Sandra from Kent (18 September 2015)

Lovely quiet and peaceful resort, with easy access to this part of devon.
Joe from Derby (14 September 2015)

Overall, very happy with the week at black rock sands. Absolutely no downside to location and surroundings, or helpfulness of the staff - we only saw them on check in and check out, but they were extremely friendly. We would absolutely go back.
Tom from Mansfield (12 September 2015)

We really enjoyed our week at black rock beach resort and didn't want to leave! the resort was quiet while we were there (which we liked). the apartment was very clean and well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was perfect for two of us but I think may have been a little small for a family of four. Our only small niggles were that although we had no problem parking while we were there, I can only imagine there would be some difficulty when the resort is busier - parking is available in a nearby car park but it is a fairly steep walk uphill to return to the apartment from there. The steps to our apartment were lit but slightly uneven and would benefit from being leveled off. The bins were quite a distance away and no recycling facility was available. We would have liked a dvd player in the apartment although freeview was available with a small selection of channels. . the beach at black rock is fairly small but easily accessible and has grey sand. It is overlooked by the gorgeous black rock beach cafe where excellent food is served by very friendly staff - we had breakfast there twice and also an evening meal - booking is advisable for evenings. It is possible to walk to looe along the cliff path which is accessed from the resort - the walk took us about 40 minutes and is very hilly but pleasant. . the small shop attached to the cafe has a small selection of goods - I would have liked to have been able to buy more provisions from there. . we had a broken blind in the apartment on arrival - we reported it to the site staff and it was repaired as arranged the next day. The site staff were friendly and approachable and happy to give advice about places to visit in the local area.
Lynn from Liverpool (12 September 2015)

Very good, loved the location, very tranquil
Sharon from Stevenage (12 September 2015)

Overall, very happy with the week at black rock sands. Absolutely no downside to location and surroundings, or helpfulness of the staff - we only saw them on check in and check out, but they were extremely friendly. We would absolutely go back.
