Our third visit to this fantastic location. The only slight issue was on our arrival, the last friday of the school holidays there were three children, the eldest looked about 12, driving round on a large powerful quad bike with a trailer making it feel like a council travellers site. I gather they belonged to the grounds man but nevertheless totally unacceptable and highly dangerous.
Tim from Leeds (03 September 2018)

We booked the lodge last minute so got a really good deal. Our lodge was right on the lake, with the hot tub overlooking it which was really nice and peaceful. The lodge is equipped with everything you could need, with lovely bedding and fluffly white towels.
Samantha (03 September 2018)

What an amazing break in beautiful and tranquil surroundings. we arrived to a friendly greeting and a lovingly prepared welcoming lodge overlooking the pretty lake. our lodge was modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. the area is quiet and well kept and conveniently positioned for exploring this beautiful part of the country. we loved the fact that you could hire a telescope and that binoculars, picnic blanket and picnic bag were provided. . our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer. we would highly recommend and would love to return.
Sharon from Belper/Derby (02 September 2018)

Very relaxing holiday. Lodge was clean and tidy and staff were very helpful and very friendly. Family holiday with 2 teenage children who were up and out walking early every morning. Views were amazing. We enjoyed it so much we are going to book again next year.
Tina from Crediton (31 August 2018)

We had a really good time. Lodge was great.
Darren from Durham (31 August 2018)

Great lodge, not much close by and was a little disappointed that you couldn’t hire anything for the lake from where we were staying but suppose we should of done more research. No cafe or anything for food on site but amazing lodge with hot tub and overall a relaxing break.
Kevin (27 August 2018)

Lodge was clean inside, not clean on the outside. Dirty barbecue & surrounding area (more than likely as we have a dog). not much to do in the area with our children. Overall, disappointed, especially what we paid during peak season!!
Justin from Whitley Bay (27 August 2018)

The place is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The accomodation is superb and well equipped. We have everything we need.
Jasper from Cheshire (20 August 2018)

Beautiful lodge with stunning views. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Julie from North Somercotes (18 August 2018)

This is a fantastic relaxing holiday location with amazing staff, tranquil settings, and peaceful evenings without too much noise on the site. . definitely recommend getting the lodge with a hot tub. . the lodge provides many things that you will need including a backpack full of cutlery for picnics. . be warned that in july there are plenty of flies however we found three cans of fly spray in the lodge and this was not as much of a problem as we thought it was going to be. spray in the morning and they are gone by the time we return in the evening. . . overall as a family holiday it was a great location from which to explore the lake district and in fact further afield.
Stephen from Wickford (28 July 2018)

Excellent location. My only comment would be that we had 4 people in a lodge that sleeps 6. This would be a very small lodge for 6 people and the deck was not really big enough for a bbq, hot tub and table and chairs.
Tc from Southampton (28 July 2018)

Lovely lodge and surroundings especially by the lake. Too many rules for the hot tub and a cut off time of 10pm is not great 11pm to 12pm is much more acceptable, after all people are on holiday and want to enjoy it cause it's not cheap to stay here, very expensive for only 4 days stay.
Carole from West Yorkshire (27 July 2018)

Lovely location and the lodges are in reasonable condition. We went as 2 families, the langdale and kirkstone lodges are together so that was great to be put together. The langdale is in better condition and has a bigger balcony than kirkstone and a dishwasher, so if you get a choice go for langdale. The signage for the hot tub is everywhere! I know they have to be clear, but it’s a bit like being at school. the barbecues are very good, no need to bring anything other than your food.
Martin from The Signage For The Hot Tub Is Everywhere! I Know (16 July 2018)

Lovely lodges in amazing location
Tracey from Egremont (16 July 2018)

An excellent site in a brilliant location. Have been before and it's so nice. Great if you love the outdoors especially with your dogs. Will be back.
Paul from The Isle Of Axholme (14 July 2018)

Loved our break in bassenthwaite. Great views of the lake from the spacious hot tub. We were able to adjust the temperature of the water which was great in the hot weather. Close enough to keswick to nip in for day visits and also whinlatter forest park where my other half went on a bike ride while I walked with the baby and dog. . great holiday and we’ll definitely be going back.
Georgina (13 July 2018)

Fantastic location with plenty of space. Only 2 minute walk to the lake and amazing scenery. Staff were helpful when needed although other than a new gas canister for bbq there was nothing that needed attended to. The only thing that stopped it being perfect were the amount of flies that constantly pester you. Other than that I could not of wished for a better place to spend the week with friends and family of all ages.
Danny (13 July 2018)

The welcome bottle of wine was a nice surprise and the hot tub was great to relax in after a day exploring the area
William from Scottish Borders (13 July 2018)

Nice quiet location, scenic, on the lake shore. Lodge perfectly fine, not luxury buy perfectly comfortable. Wi fi a bit patchy, flies were annoying when we were there. Hot tub and lake views lovely. Deck in the shade of the trees, which was both good and bad. Lodge 52.
Michelle from West Lancashire (06 July 2018)

Unfortunately our lodge was so dirty and badly located. We have not enjoyed the lodge at all. I had to clean everywhere. Lodge itself is located at the entrance and stays in shade all day. You can’t sit outside due to overgrowing tree which leaves drops into your meal and no view at all. You can swim in lake unless it is weekend. During weekend different groups comes for canoeing lessons etc. They tell you to go into lake from somewhere else so they don’t hit you with canoe etc. Kids park area is very in safe for young children and not much to play with. We enjoyed our stay because we went out of the complex all the time if we stayed in I would be very disappointed. The reservations manager kindly asked us to come back for a complimentary weekend which was nice but it does not replace our one week break and we wanted to leave 1,5 day early.
Customer 20 from Wigan (06 July 2018)

Beautiful lodge ! a bit on the expensive side but very modern and all needs catered for. We were a bit disappointed we didn't have a hot tub !
Anne from Bradford (02 July 2018)

The lodge was in a perfect area by the lake .. was wall to wall blue sky and sunshine all weekend which made the stay even better . the lodge itself was tired and in my opinion was in need of bathrooms and kitchen refurb
Carol from Carlisle (02 July 2018)

Fabulous family weekend away ..... beautifully restored country house, very clean, comfortable and . well equipped. Near to the lake and other places of interest . thank you
Elizabeth from Staffordshire (02 July 2018)

Had a wonderful holiday. Lodge was excellent! area was beautiful!
Elizabeth (02 July 2018)

It was a birthday present for my daughter brilliant
Christine from Maryport Cumbria (01 July 2018)

It was very nice the place with the view on the lake the only thing that let it down was the decking it could of had a good clean, then I know staff have to check that people arnt using the hot tubs but at 10.30-11pm a kid was on a quad pulling a trailer and skidding it on the stones when we got told no music after 10pm or using the hot tub after 10pm because it will wake the other customers up I do understand and agree but then you get that which it should be the same rules for everyone.
Cheryl (01 July 2018)

Wonderful break. We picked this lodge because of the hot tub but there are restrictions what are not mentioned till you are there ie can only use between 7 and 10 oclock which changed on the day arrived from 11 oclock.
John from Nottingham (29 June 2018)

Lovely peaceful location, clean modern lodge with everything you need.
Margaret from Whitehaven (29 June 2018)

Lovely adult family weekend break. only recommend that you need midge repellent as they were everywhere. Will definately be going back
Louise from Wigan (25 June 2018)

I love the lodges they are very comfortable and equipped for all you would need for your holiday. The views are amazing and there is plenty to do in the area to keep you busy.
Amy from Romford (25 June 2018)

This accommodation is of a very high quality, very spacious and a great location for visiting kewick and the zoo. I would highly recommend this for an excellent family weekend.
Denise from Sunderland (25 June 2018)

Lovely lodge and beautiful setting. Surrounding bush area could have been better kept. Amazing staff.
Customer 32 from Carlisle (25 June 2018)

Fantastic break with the family and dog, relaxing time with great views.
Yvonne from Rotherham (18 June 2018)

Lodge was very nice in amazing surroundings with nice walks only problem is there isnt a pub or somewhere to eat close by
Craig from Whitehaven (17 June 2018)

Great location, perfect surroundings for a relaxing break. the park is lovely, right on the lake and the lodges are equipped with everything you need (apart from food). there's even a small shop at reception that stocks those essentials that you might run out of. keswisk is a short drive away if you need more. beautiful surroundings and ideal base for exploring further afield in the lake district.
Customer 35 (11 June 2018)

Amazing lodge with outstanding views. Staff extremely kind and helpful.
Helen (11 June 2018)

Excellent relaxed venue. Just what we wanted.
Neil from Stockport (10 June 2018)

This is a fabulous place for a nice quiet break. Perfect if you have a dog as right on the lakeside with lots of walks in area. Lodge(no 36) was nice and spacious with two bathrooms. Bed was comfortable too. You will need a car if you want to get out a bit especially if weather not so good, fortunately we were blessed with gorgeous weather.
Helen from Washington, Tyne And Wear (08 June 2018)

Dower lodge was amazing. High quality finish luxury accommodation for a very fair price. We had a brilliant time.
Alison from Wilmslow (02 June 2018)

We had a wonderful week in a beautiful lodge with hot tub. The scenery was amazing and so was the weather!. the lodge was modern, clean and well equipped although we didn’t do any cooking so can’t comment on cooking utensils etc. Our only complaint would be about the wifi...it’s virtually non existent! maybe our lodge was too far away from the router?!. we will definitely return to bassenthwaite lakeside lodges.
Ruth from Warboys, Cambridgeshire (26 May 2018)

Great holiday weather was fantastic, accomadation was great
Linda from Falkirk (25 May 2018)

Lovely house and hot tub fab.only downside was the noise from nearby dogs
Anne-Marie (21 May 2018)

Great location right on the shore of bassenthwaite lake. Very close to dodds wood for view of ospreys and not to strenuous walk up to the peak. Many other walks to take advantage of without having to drive to far. Lodge excellent and good for dog walking.
Ron from Sittingbourne (18 May 2018)

Was very relaxing and peaceful and there was everything you could possibly need to make the stay perfect I will be coming back
Carol from Newcastle Upon Tyne (14 May 2018)

Our lodge and the surroundings were beautiful. we unfortunately, had a family next door that were swearing every other word and were very loud during the day and night. we enjoyed the lakes very much but they didn't make our time outside on the deck as peaceful as it could have been.
Zoe from Great Paxton (14 May 2018)

Super holiday apart from kids running between lodges
Paul from Peterlee (04 May 2018)

Myself and my brother and his fiancé paid for this getaway for our fathers 50th birthday present and we could not be more pleased with the lodge and the area surrounding. I requested balloons and banners for the lodge and helen and chris could not have been more helpful the lodge was decorated lovely and even left 2 bottles of prosecco, a box of sweets and a little game for us arriving. The lodges themselves are in quite a secluded area but this is what you want for a quiet getaway, it is about a 15-20 minute drive into keswick but lovely drive the views are fantastic, only negative would be the turn off is not fantastically sign posted and the turn off itself is quite a steep bank, it is tight on the road to the lodges but definitely not an issue just something to be aware of!

The lodge was well equipped and lovely and clean. We went the week when the beast from the east came, so got snowed in for a few days, but the staff were very helpful, arranged for the path outside the camp to be cleared so we could get to the main road, pity the a66 was closed so we had to come back to stay another night in the lodge, which we didn’t mind, I could have stayed another week it was so relaxing if we didn’t have to go back to work on the monday. Lovely walks and 10mins to keswick, we’ll defiantly go back, ideal place.

People need to be made aware of road access to park which is single track and scary if encountering oncoming traffic . also roads into some cabins are very steep and it needs to be clearer that there are no shops whatever nearby .
George from Strathclyde (26 February 2018)

Superb location. Clean and comfy. Loved the prosecco as a welcome gift. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Chris from Blackpool (26 February 2018)

Clean tidy if a little dated in a superb location with outstanding views. For the cost we would quite happily spend future long weekends there!

Old and tired lodge. There is no jetty on the lake. Can’t use hot tub before 11am every day due to chemicals, so therefore couldn’t use on leaving day! bbq could do with a simple cover.

No 45 was a lovely lodge up away from the majority of the other lodges so quite peaceful and not overlooked. My only criticism is it’s a little tired. The curtains needed stitching (new curtain hooks etc) so we’re hanging down at the edges, some of the plastic glasses were broken and the main bathroom shower leaked all over the floor and was tied with a plastic tie to the wall. It needs a handyman to spend a day there to fix the niggly little things and it would get 10/10.
Emma from Leeds (18 February 2018)

We felt the pictures on your website didn't do your lodge justice. . it was beautiful inside and outside the lodge. . we really enjoyed our stay and will 100% return.

We did let them know in writing on day one that we couldn't use the en suite shower as it was flooding the bathroom and that the toilet was constantly emptying and filling up 24 hours away, disturbing our sleep at night. . nothing at all was done about any of this !

Beautiful place, only downside is there is nothing on the site apart from reception, if you want to go for a meal you need to drive, keswick is only a short drive away it just means that someone needs to be the designated driver. Lodge was lovely and clean, very peaceful with stunning views

We booked a lodge for 5 people..only 2 people stayed, thankfully as we found it rather small..although we did enjoy it..didn’t read up much on locality so felt it was a bit far out..but that was our fault and we did enjoy our stay .
Jean from Paisley (29 January 2018)

Excellent break away for my husbands 40th with the family. Lovely clean lodge and friendly staff who recommended walks, decorated the lodge for our arrival. The hot tub was a big hit with the kids
