If you are looking for a base in the middle of nowhere then this is the place for you. The park is very well maintained with cabins around a lake but that is it. There is a small shop that is very expensive and the nearest amenity is around 3 miles away. We stayed in the mandarin plus which whilst slightly dated in the fittings ie the kitchen units and sofa all of the soft furnishings looked new and it was spotless. my own gripe was the sofas are really uncomfortable and not ideal for chilling out of an evening. The hot tub is a spa so we.couldn't have max pressure on all seats as it physically couldn't do it but it was chemically checked every day and was even emptied and refilled part way through. you have to entertain yourself ie days put and use as a base otherwise you will hate it. We went out every day and all of the local sights are at least 45 minutes drive so the hot tub is a welcome relief after a day walking. This is not ideal for families with very young children as they will be bored, we had 2 teenagers and they just about perservered.
Gabbie from Leeds (03 September 2018)

Fantastic luxurious lodge!
Sonya from Wolverhampton (03 September 2018)

Great place very quiet complete switch off wouldn't of minded a pub a little closer but no biggy had a great time thank you
Heidi from Irlam (03 September 2018)

Been here twice but this time the hot tub was too small for 4 is was only for two which was a little disappointing
Michelle (03 September 2018)

We had an amazing week at ashlea pools lodges. We stayed in the oak vip lodge and everything about was outstanding. It was so clean, beautifully decorated, lovely area, the park was so relaxing. We can't recommend it enough.
Kelly from Haverfordwest (01 September 2018)

Lovely location, clean and very well maintained, really enjoyed the hot tub and the fishing was excellent too, staff very helpful and on hand to give recommendations on restaurants and other attractions.
Darren from Milton Keynes (31 August 2018)

Lovely place, very tranquil, great for a quiet time away from hustle and bustle! great to be able to fish too!
Richard (27 August 2018)

Lovely location but expensive considering lack of facilities but the lodge and park were fabulous.
Emma (27 August 2018)

Wow, what an amazing holiday, the lodge was spotless, well maintained and well equipped, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the young lady in the on site shop is very helpful, the staff looked after us well.
Jason (25 August 2018)

Lovely park. Great lodge well equipped in nice surroundings!
Rebecca from Bolton (24 August 2018)

Excellent lodge, comfy sofas and beds. All furniture was luxury in my view. And the park is so peaceful (when they're not building new lodges!).
Katherine from Colwyn Bay (24 August 2018)

Too far out from anywhere.
Kelly from Scarborough (24 August 2018)

It is a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings very quiet and peaceful the hot tub was lovely and was checked every day (morning). the staff were very friendly the only downside was the trains going past only 8 a day but the first one was 5.22 in the morning then 7.22 then spaced out the last one was 10.22 in the evening the bedroom was only yards away from the trains so expect to be woken every morning very early.
Susan from Norfolk (24 August 2018)

The park and location are excellent, we booked for a peaceful weekend away and that is exactly what we got. . the staff were brilliant and really helpful. . the dogs loved the dog run!. . all-in-all we all had a lovely break and will be visiting again.
Ruth from Runcorn, Cheshire (20 August 2018)

From the moment we arrived it was clear that this was a lovely relaxing location. We were in the oak vip lodge which was decorated and beautifully furnished to a very high standard. The welcome basket exceeded our expectations and was a thoughtful start to our holiday. Fantastic fishing in the lake, lots of silver fish for beginners and plenty of carp up to about 8lbs.
Ian from Suffolk (19 August 2018)

Me my wife and daughter stayed in the oak vip lodge. Definetly going back asap. Loved it! so peaceful! fishing on point as well. Staff amazing! highly recommend!

Karen (17 August 2018)

Lovely welcome basket of groceries on arrival. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Accommodation very clean and kitchen well stocked with everything you may need. lovely to sit on the decking overlooking the lake. Very peaceful. On-site shop very useful.
Julie from Orpington (17 August 2018)

We had lodge 11, it is starting to look very tired. The toilet and both showers needed repairing whilst we were there. we had a missing key to a patio door. The decking furniture cushions had a split in..
Lee (17 August 2018)

Beautiful location if you don't mind a relaxing holiday with walking or visiting castles. The lodge was beautiful. We stayed in a kingfisher plus
Grace from Kent (17 August 2018)

Jennifer from Wakefield (11 August 2018)

Stayed in some beautifull lodges over the years but this is by far the most beautiful lodge we have stayed in.whoever does the cleaning (can I hire u for my house)second to none.absolutely spotless.the hot tub man (sweet guy)cleaned our hot tub every day the setting is stunning.lovely welcome hamper and great settings for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.would definately reccomend
Dee from London (10 August 2018)

One of the best lodges that I have stopped in, the site was nice but not much for kids to do. Watch out for the hot tub inspection at random times of the day with no warning. Also disappointed in having to pay £5 per day for very poor wifi after already spending over £1k on a luxury lodge.
Ryan from Stockton-On-Tees (06 August 2018)

Brilliant
Leanne (03 August 2018)

The lodge overall was very good. It was very well equipped and the setting was lovely. A little more attention could have been given to cleanliness (just because someone has put crockery back in a cupboard, it does not mean it is clean!) but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the lodge and the park and I would happily book there again. Excellent value for money.
Philippa from King’S Lynn (03 August 2018)

We all had a great few days will deffantley be visiting again.
Joanne (03 August 2018)

Beautiful clean lodge, peaceful surroundings, helpful, friendly staff. Highly recommended, will be going again.

We had a lovely relaxing break at ashlea pools. The lodge was very clean .modern and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the welcome basket was a delightful surprise,
Colin (13 July 2018)

The most peaceful and idyllic holiday location ever! absolutely loved the scenery and peace and quiet! the pond is so restful and we loved relaxing on the veranda, reading or doing puzzles whilst watching the water and wildlife. Bliss!
Corinne from Dunfermline (07 July 2018)

Brilliant. Hot tub didn't bubble but apart from that lovley all round
Michael from Gloucester (06 July 2018)

Very friendly, clean and loved everything about the place. the dog run was brilliant , the staff very friendly and the welcome pack was amazing. I have already recommended it to others. Can not speak highly enough of everything.
Mary from Abergele (06 July 2018)

We paid for vip but had a lit of issues with things being broken in our lodge..for example there were 2 sets of double doors and the one door wouldn’t open at all. Hot tub was not cleaned before arrival as was full of leaves and dead flies. Staff were polite and surrounding beautiful
Sionade (02 July 2018)

We had an amazing time here! booked it to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, couldn’t think of a better place we could have gone for a relaxing weekend break. Would defiantly love to go again
Stuart from Brierley Hill (02 July 2018)

I don't suppose there are many occasions when you could have done with air con in the lodge and a cool tub as opposed to a hot tub! we went to ashlea pools during the heatwave in june 2018 and it was uncomfortably warm in the lodge. However the park itself and the surrounding area is beautiful. We stayed in a kingfisher vip lodge which is kitted out with everything you need and was clean and well maintained. (there is no shaver point in the bathroom however, so make sure your shaver is fully charged). the park is dog friendly and there is an enclosed dog run. (and to the old gentleman that remonstrated with me for making our dog wear a coat during the hot weather, the coat was in fact a 'wet' coat which kept the dog cool)! we would return to ashlea pools in the future, and would recommend it to family and friends, maybe not in a heatwave though!
Keith from Liverpool (29 June 2018)

Lovely site and area. Very quiet and relaxing. Only thing recommend is hot tub should be updated as only a couple of the jets work.
Rachel (25 June 2018)

Beautiful lodge. kitchen extremely well equipped, lounge/dining are perfect. love the open plan layout. bedrooms clean and comfortable. especially like the double with en suite. the whole lodge perfect and plenty big enough for 4 adults and 2 children. the hot tub was fabulous and a big hit with us all. hot tub was check by the lovely young lady each day. (flies removed) we cannot praise this lodge/site enough. site was lovely, quiet and tidy. nice pond, ducks, small play area, nice to walk round the site. plenty of green space to play. we will undoubtedly be back.
Christina from Bolton (25 June 2018)

Lovely lodges spacious especially number 49 hot tub could do with being set cooler in this hot weather if you leave the cover off the flies go in it would def return had a lovely few days there
Tracey from Leicester (25 June 2018)

The lodge was clean tidy and the hot tub was a plus, staff were friendly lovely walks and tried local pub. Lots to visit would recommend.
Lorna from Wales (22 June 2018)

To many flies and shop is very expensive
Luke from Shropshire (22 June 2018)

Already left feedback but forgot to mention the stunning welcome basket, no wi-fi but they are trying to sort it out, need a car to get anywhere, poor bus service but request stop train station next to site
Linda from Swansea (16 June 2018)

Everything was fantastic but, the park is isolated and you do need a car. Park shop is very good
Debra from Brierley Hill (15 June 2018)

Top draw
Steven from Wolves (15 June 2018)

Stacey from Bolton (04 June 2018)

We enjoyed our week at ashlea pools. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The facilities in the lodge were very good and the hot tub was a relaxing additional feature. The local area provided a relaxing and peaceful retreat from the rush and tear of daily life.
Keith from Robertsbridge, East Sussex. (02 June 2018)

Brilliant, relaxing week away with my family. Would definitely recommend.
Amy from Rowley Regis (02 June 2018)

Couldn't fault this park and the lodge. Best holiday by far
Maria from Chesterfield (01 June 2018)

Lovely spacious lodge. Well equipped and nice location. Jacuzzi was great. Kids love the place. We will deffintily go back.
Chanaka from Pinner (28 May 2018)

Good I have all ready recommend to another person, very relaxing great jacuzzi extremely friendly and accommodating staff and great surrounding and peaceful place even with the train on your doorstep hardly noticeable with a quirckest way to stop it just like hailing a cab. a must go & see is shrewsbury if using the car the park &ride is good & ludlow on market day.
Michael from Gloucestershire (25 May 2018)

Had a great break with some girlfriends. Accommodation a little tired needed a little updating, single beds could do with better mattress when adults sleeping in them, lovely towels and good shower. . everything we needed was there, the welcome basket was a lovely gesture and really handy, maybe salt and pepper are something that could be in each accommodation or in the welcome basket. Staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming and nothing s problem, would definitely go again.
Patricia from Flintshire (25 May 2018)

Can thoroughly recommend ashlea pools for a relaxing break away from it all....very peaceful holiday park just as we like it!. my husband enjoyed fishing directly in front of our lodge...and was very pleased with his total number of catches over his 4 fishing days! . we have never stayed in the shropshire area before...what a beautiful part of the country that we've been missing. we will definitely be returning in the future.
Claire from Portishead (25 May 2018)

We will go again in the future

Great location and lodge. 2nd year we’ve visited. Only downside is the hot tub jets very poor compared the the many other hot tubs we’ve used. Such a shame
Michelle from Caernarfon (19 February 2018)

Great location suggest to ask for a quieter lodge if you don't want to see and hear train chugging past. . . ensure neighbours are quiet we had a young 4 people next to us partying!!!

Superb !. a fully equipped lodge (46) adjacent to the lake. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. The welcome hamper was much appreciated. Ashlea pools is in a secluded location. To help guests there is a well provisioned shop in reception whilst larger stores are within a 10 mile radius. The park is secluded and quiet. The whole area is steeped in history and has plenty of wildlife. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Strongly recommended. We will be returning.

Great place. Our lodge was in very good condition and everything worked as it should. The hot tub is a very welcome addition and cleaned by the staff daily. Very quiet location and a great place to go to do nothing and relax. . me and my partner will definitely be returning.

What a stunning lodge. Extremely friendly staff on site and a surprise welcome basket of provisions including incredible bread and local cheese. Absolutely beautiful. The lodge was a delight. Well equipped, very clean and lovely attention to detail such as robes and slippers. More like a self catering spa break than anything else. We were so fed up to leave.

Great break, a cozy lodge in a lovely location. The hot tub was great.
Joyce from St Helens (19 January 2018)

Me and my husband had a very unpleasant stay unfortunatly. I had arranged this for our 4yrs anniversary but the stay turned out to be anything but romantic. The noice from the guttering was so bad that we had to go sleep on the twin beds in the other room. I complained a couple of times and eventually someone come out. But no discount was given for the 3 sleepless nights we had. unfortunatly wouldnt stay there again.

Very good value 3 night break. Lodge warm and clean and hot tub great though we would have liked more jets!! still can’t complain. Was one issue with flush of toilet but easily solved. thoughtful welcome basket and most pleasant reception lady. Close to ludlow which was lovely. Enjoyed stay and would go again.
