Amazing for a weekend away. Loved it, everything was perfect. Beautifull lodges that are well kept and with lots of space for family or couple breaks. Deffiently go again.
Kelly (03 September 2018)

These lodges are tired and in need of re-decoration and repair. there was mould in the ensuite bathroom and it smelled. Paper was coming off the wall throughout the lodge, the cooker kept switching itself off, the speakers did not work and the decking furniture was cheap and falling apart. We had to ring twice whilst we were on our way, both times being told a different lodge number to go to, neither which was actually ours and one was actually occupied by another family, so very embarrassing when we were trying to get into it! there isn't one redeeming feature about these lodges, the site or the staff. Would never go back again.
Paul (02 September 2018)

We had a very relaxing stay and it’s a great place to have as a base to explore the area loved having the bbqs in the communal area to use
Gemma from Kent (28 August 2018)

Had a great bank holiday with friends. Lodge was brilliant and hot tub was a real bonus.
Natalie from Staffordshire (27 August 2018)

We were due to be in lodge 6 but put into lodge 1 on arrival with no explanation. the decking for our lodge faced on to reception buildings and a car park where staff parked a white van immediately next to our decking most of the week, the most scenic or relaxing views from the sitting room window. staff were mostly invisible and no one asked if everything was satisfactory. also, trying to book a spa treatment was difficult and it didn't happen, no apology or explanation was given.
Peter (18 August 2018)

Beautiful lodge, but tv didn’t work in the bedroom. Reported it, but nothing sorted out. Overall fab holiday, slightly strange area though
Clair from Wakefield (18 August 2018)

Lovely pleasant place but they don't respond quickly to complaints when electrics are not working.
Diane from West Midlands (17 August 2018)

Staff were lovely and friendly. The lodge had everything you could need. From prosecco glasses to bath robes. It really was a perfect stay.
Selina from Manchester (13 August 2018)

Enjoyed a fantastic holiday in a super lodge. Hot tub and facilities were great. Everything you need in one place. Location was surprisingly lovely, beautiful surroundings.
Diane from Walsall (13 August 2018)

Lovely clean lodge, with high spec facilities. I would definitely go again. Stayed from friday for 3 nights, the only thing was the hot tub was still cold on the fri evening so couldn't use it till saturday (on booking we were told it may not be ready for a 'couple of hours' from arrival at 4pm, but it was still cold at 10.30pm at night). it didn't really spoil the stay though, it was lovely. Lots to do in the surrounding areas too.
Carla (13 August 2018)

We had a lovely holiday. We we're lucky and got a good deal almost half price! no wifi though
Karen (11 August 2018)

Lodge is lovely and cosy bed comfy and all little bits you could need. A little bit tired decor and decking could all do with treating and fences round hot tub. We weren't bothered while we were here apart from seeing the hot tub testing guys once. Washing machine broken and we weren't advised of this so we couldn't wash anything. Nothing on site just 17 lodges and 2 hammocks in the centre. Good location for out and about days out. We went for chill out and that's what we did. would return to these lodges for a short break.
Customer 12 (11 August 2018)

Small quiet and tidy park on the edge of the village of overseal. Used as a base to visit a few places in the north midlands including alton towers. Nearby co-op and chinese takeaway were handy.
Alan (11 August 2018)

This is a great place if you want to get away from everything. There is no bar, restaurant or shop on site but your not far from shops and restaurants.
Jean (10 August 2018)

We had an amazing time at ashby woulds, the lodge was incredible and it was so relaxing.
Hayley from Margate (10 August 2018)

The lodge we had was beautiful (redwood lodge), the hot tub was warm enough to use on the first night, check in is rather late at 4pm but I would definitely recommend and will go back.
Susan from Abergele (10 August 2018)

Extremely clean, spacious lodge and excellent hot tub. We didn’t get chance to use bbq as it was too hot. Perhaps some shade or parasol in that area would be great. Definitely recommend ashby de la zouch as a day trip.
Sindi from Stone (06 August 2018)

Would definately go back again.
Donna from Norfolk (06 August 2018)

Accommodation tired and needs updating. Hot tub good. Not worth full price but ok if discounted.
Diane from Glasgow (04 August 2018)

Great holiday, booked a monday to friday break with the family. Very nice a clean lodge and close to a few attractions for the kids.
Daniel (03 August 2018)

Good holiday, cabin clean and well equipped. Staff that we seen were friendly enough. Not much on site facilities, bbqs need cleaned and upgraded. Old tatty deck chairs and loungers brought the look of the area down a touch. But overall a good holiday and good area.
Mairi (28 July 2018)

Location is fantastic, loads of things to do nearby. Lodge was clean on arrival. However it needs some money spent on it. I go to about 4 lodges a year, it was by far the worse hot tub i’ve ever been in, not only did it have no power and very few jets, it absolutely stunk. The lid stinks and i’m pretty sure the chemicals were wrong because of the smell. I went in twice in the beginning of the 7 days and refused to go in it again. The decking furniture is rotten. One seat broke when we were there. The umbrella that come with it was broken n it actually taped together at the top so we couldn’t actually put it down. This caused major problems as we had no where to put it as it always had to be put, so when it was windy it blew off the decking and hit my car and scratched it. The kettle, oven and microwave all sounded like they were going to explode . a picture fell off the wall, there was 2 massive holes it was covering in the twin bedroom. The doors are hard to shut as most of the door frames were broken. The bedding didn’t match in the twin room, one had a bed sheet one didn’t . the rug at the front door was to the side, we moved it to the proper place and found it wasn’t at the right place because it was covering a stained carpet. We did have a good holiday in general but wouldn’t go back to that site mainly due to the hot tub and outdoor furniture.
Sarah from Durham (28 July 2018)

My family & I have stayed at quite a few log cabins. This one was very clean & quiet, the only noise coming from distant aircraft to & fro ing from midlands airport, which was no bother at all. There's a decent commercial fishery behind it,if i'd known i'd have taken some tackle with me. Maybe they don't want to attract anglers. There are plenty of country pubs to visit, most serve food. It was great to chill out in the hot tub at the end of the day,the only negative being the lack of privacy ,perhaps a solid fence either side of the decking.
Barry from Hull (27 July 2018)

Beautiful, clean lodge with all amenities required for a relaxing break. Location ok, although no activities available onsite.
Paula (27 July 2018)

Rude staff, quality of lodge in need of refurbishment.
Zoe from Norfolk (20 July 2018)

Amazing holiday, so peaceful and relaxing. Would love to come back!
Sharna from Lincoln (14 July 2018)

Very calm and peaceful, impressive accommodation, spotless hot tub, perfect
Tina from Hull (14 July 2018)

We had a wonderful week. The setting is beautiful, the lodge is outstanding. The only thing I found was it was too 'towny' in the surrounding areas. I missed the beautiful countryside, but the lodge and the hot tub were lovely.
Vanessa from Norfolk (14 July 2018)

Lovely lodge with everything you need. Not much in the local area but close to lots of other places such as twycross zoo and drayton manor which was the purpose of our visit.
Chris (13 July 2018)

Beautiful lodge, immaculate and well equipped. The best equipped, nicest place i’ve stayed. The hot tub was tidy and available. The park was lovely and well kept, staff were super friendly. Can’t recomend it enough
Keiron from Letchworth (08 July 2018)

We had a lovely relaxing time. Staff were vert helpful. . the area us great for exploring.
Andrew from Somerset (06 July 2018)

A brilliant lodge well equipped and friendly staff.perfect location.
Sophie from Newcastle-Under-Lyme (01 July 2018)

Site smaller than expected but met our requirements. Site and lodge very clean.
David from Faversham (30 June 2018)

Superb location, lovely accommodation and we loved our week exploring the area - lots to see and do and then come back to a dip in the hot tub - perfect!!
Danielle from Ipswich (30 June 2018)

Cabin was lovely. Very clean and homely. Only negative is that the washing machine was in pretty bad shape and was sticking out of the units. Overall really nice.
Amanda from Rotherham (26 June 2018)

The lodges and hot tub were in excellent condition very clean tidy and modern very spacious and private if that’s what you’re looking for
Stephen from Leeds (25 June 2018)

Very nice and clean lodges and hot tub but disappointed that they started emptying the tub at 9am on the day of departure not enough privacy man coming on to balcony several times.
Carol from Wakefield (24 June 2018)

My family and I enjoyed the trip especially the hot tub. . it was good for relaxation however no activities for the children. . the check in was late and the check out was very early. The seating area was small although there was extra space. There was a wide range of kitchen appliances which was beneficial.
Hayder (18 June 2018)

Great place
Linda (16 June 2018)

Stayed in the one bed lodge cannot fault the site in anyway very quite and private, the lodge itself well appointed in all departments with easy access to surrounding area and attractions.
Diane from Wragby Mkt Rasen Lincs (16 June 2018)

Lodge ok, television broken in room, hot tub area damaged, wifi non existent. Lodges felt on top of each other. Neighbours noisy!
Alice (09 June 2018)

My husband & I had a fabulous few days at ashby woulds, lovely cabin & hot tub was amazing, everything you would ever need is at the cabin, weather was fab so spent many hours sitting on the decking watching the world go by, so peaceful, would definitely recommend
Lorraine from North Wales (05 June 2018)

Outstanding accommodation and helpful staff.
Andrew from Berwick (01 June 2018)

Lovely lodge and great hot tub. If only they had planted their trees between the lodges and not at the end on the boundary , they would have felt a lot more private. Fantastic walks and cycle paths in the area. Minor point - we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather, but a parasol would have been appreciated. Also no cling film or tin foil - so bring yo u r own. Our neighbours brought swing ball which was a great idea !
Dianna from Woburn Green (01 June 2018)

Had a great time lodge a little dated and the washer dryer didnt work but it was clean and sufficient had a busy time vusiting in the area and nice and quite of an evening good value foe money
Julie from Middlesbrough (01 June 2018)

Pls take extra toilet paper and washing up liquid with you and towels. The property was today but disappointed when you spend a lot of money and the towels don’t even get changed daily. They left an empty washing up liquid with half used toilet papers so they weren’t even changed, location is nice spa was ok nothing special but overall experience, would not go back again so that speaks for its self.
Ali (29 May 2018)

Initially we were very impressed. The receptionist was very helpful and the park looks very nice. However, as with all things, it is the small things that become the big things.. . we immediately reported that the tv in the bedroom did not seem to work, even after re scanning all the channels..we were told that someone from maintenance would come and take care of it, they never did. . we reported that only half of the jets worked on the hot tub, and received the comment that if nobody reports these things, how can they be fixed.? surely if you're emptying and refilling the tubs frequently you'd actually check such a basic feature. Sadly the hot tub was a huge let down. It even stopped working completely, and we were told from the error code given, it was due to the fact that pressure had built up in the system, due to some of the nozzles being closed by us. No; no nozzles had been closed, they simply didn't work, and therefore this must be a recurring issue that has not been taken care of. . the park has a 'minimum noise policy' where guests are asked to respect other guests. Well sadly the people staying in lodge 1 clearly didn't respect this policy, and neither did the site management. We reported the issue to the number given, and had to leave a message. As you can imagine, no response was ever received, and the noise from lodge 1 never went away. We reported it for a second time, and yet again we were ignored. . sadly our experience of ashby woulds was a huge let down. Premium money charged, for a less than average experience where they clearly over promise and under deliver.
Graham (29 May 2018)

Staff from arrival to departure where fantastic. We had a fantastic stay and the lodges had everything you needed. Great to see the hot tubs are maintained every morning. Location was great with shops, supermarkets, pubs, cinema etc all within 3-15 min drive. Alton towers and monkey park under 1 hour away. We can not recommend enough and will certainly be booking again.
Clint from Wirral (26 May 2018)

A peaceful place to relax and a good base to explore from the lodge does need a little tic though as it is looking a litttle worn
Carol from Hants (26 May 2018)

Had a great relaxing break, the little touches were great fully received. Would definitely recommend these lodges, and we will be returning.
Lee from Nottingham (21 May 2018)

Suited our needs as a break away, however the unit is tired and needs some time and money spent to move it from a 7 to a 10. Little things missing eg tea pot, fish slice and fridge door shelving. As noted on previous review sound system missing, why still on facilities ?
David from Co Durham (19 May 2018)

We stayed at lodge 7. It was lovely but needs a bit of attention, ie blinds on the windows need fixing, no bottle holder on fridge door and shelves missing, despite notifying staff on first day.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Wirral (19 May 2018)

Highly recommend, staff are very friendly and helpful. Lodges are spotless on arrival. Great for couples and families for a relaxing break
Customer 53 (18 May 2018)

Their is no point having 2 tv if you have to have same thing on both. No one their to do spa treatment during day. Area poor. Lodge was nice clean and tidy hot tub lovely.
Hazel from Norfolk (27 April 2018)

Although I contacted hoseasons for the site contact details I was given incorrect telephone and email details. By time I was contacted (morning of arrival) it was too late. Our hot tub was not ready on day one (only there for two days ) others hot tubs ready by afternoon of first day. . this was a relaxing break for my elderly mum who was recently diagnosed with illness so the hot tub was the main plus for us. No one around on the sunday of departures to talk to. . I had emailed before booking and gained no reply. this said the lodge was nice. And it was relaxing.
Marie from Rotherham (22 April 2018)

Absolutely beautiful lodge. Very well equipped and comfortable. Looking over lakes so not overlooked at the back. Hot tub was a lovely addition. Quiet site with plenty of places to visit nearby.
David from Southampton (20 April 2018)

Fab break away! however there’s not much to do around the site which is close! and the staff weren’t always around so we found it hard to find them. . but the lodge it’s self was really good ! it was fab
Hayley from Sundlerand (17 April 2018)

It’s was amazing definitely coming here again everyone is welcoming and we had our own privacy too yes very well recommended.

We arrived at 6pm I had received a text from the site to let us know what number lodge was ours and that it was open ready for us I was surprised that there was no one on site to greet us or check the lodge with us. We found a list of small issues that needed to be addressed. We rang the mobile number that I was given in the welcome pack to let them know and was told maintence would be round the next day which did not happen until the following day when I reported it to a member of staff. Some of the issues could be sorted there and then my main concern was that if we did not let them know we would be charged for these faults. On the positives the lodge was lovely, they had left an easter egg and chocolates for us all. It was a nice mini break but wouldn’t return here.
Marie from East Sussex (03 April 2018)

Overall our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and we would definitely stay again, my only negative would be that the tv kept going off, sky kept loosing reception and the dvd and tv remotes didn’t work. Some of the kitchen utensils were tired and could do with replacing . other than that we would definitely stay again . thank you so much

Couldnt use the hot tub on the first day as it wasnt hot until the next day, on the last day it was empted so early we had no option to use it, mould in the shower, toilet brush and bins rusty, not a great look, cold weather in fact it snowed, had to keep boosting the heating to keep the place warm, no privacy for the hot tubs, not the romantic get away we were expecting, and the lodges are far to close together, looking out our kitchen window straight into next doors bedroom, sorry but this wasnt great value at all, usally use stretton lakes the detail around the whole package is exceptional and far better value for simlar cost, sorry but we wont be recomending you
Darren (19 March 2018)

Amazing, been twice and loved it. Lodges are beautiful and the location is beautiful.
Janet from South Lanarkshire (19 March 2018)

The lodge we stayed in was very good and the only thing I would improve was to somehow make the hot tub available on the first night, as it seems the average pattern for the hot tub is that it will not be warm enough to use till the day after you have arrived. . otherwise the location was very nice and the staff were helpful with my queries.

Had the most relaxing and fabulous 5 day break. The accommodation was faultless and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, making you feel very welcome. The hot tub was checked daily by staff who was on hand to answer any questions. The hot tub was in an enclosed area and was at the perfect temperature. Would highly recommend ashby woulds lodges and spa and will definately will be rebooking.

Had the most relaxing and fabulous 5 day break. The accommodation was faultless and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, making you feel very welcome. A few repairs needed doing in the lodge. Eg had a leaking bath twice during our stay! the 2 front burners on the cooker did not work, the large on was dangerous.
Linda from Market Weighton (10 March 2018)

Very poor check in procedure. Lady wanted a bond on my card and wanted to right card details on a piece of paper not very secure. Didn't understand why a bond was required when I had taken out insurance against damages and breakages. Central heating was difficult to operate and kept going cold during the night. Hot tub did not have much power had more bubbles in a bottle of lemonade.

Lovely spacious lodge, very clean, everything you could need. Hot tub was fab and the privacy screen meant it felt private even though you were actually quite close to the next lodge.

Beautiful lodge, clean and well maintained. No amenities on site but within a short drive of a number of small towns and attractions and full sky package was good to have. . . only let down for us was the check in time of 4pm and early departure time of 10am especially as the hottub was unable to be used on the first night. It felt like we only had 2days rather than 4 which seems poor value for money.
Rebecca (20 February 2018)

Brilliant. Nothing else to say, loved it.

Nice cabin with lovely views, hot tub was kept at 38.5 degrees (not hot enough for me and cooled down fast when cover was removed to use, it only had 18 jets too), only a small wooden step to get in and that was unstable. Staff was friendly enough. heating in cabin is at a preset temperature you can't alter, all you can do is boost it for 2 hours.... this made it freezing first thing in the mornings and not comfortable... evan using the electric fire to try and warm up. this is why I would not book again. could be a lovely retreat if they weren't so tight with the heating and hot tub temperature.

Weren't able to go in hot tub for 2 days of the holiday. Wallpaper coming off the walls, the tv in the bedroom didn't work, the bathroom flooded into the hallway every time you had a shower, wine glasses still had stains on them from previous people, back patio doors wouldn't lock & maintenance staff never picked up the phone.

Lovely holidat friendly staff
Bridget from Gloucester (09 February 2018)

Disappointed to be told the hot tub would not be available on our first night as it was not up to temperature. As this was included in the our 4 night break, we feel this is something the staff should look at and ensure the hot tub is available for use every night. . the heating kept going off and we were always checking it and having to press the touch button to keep the lodge warm.
Judith from Pontefract (09 February 2018)

The hot tub was not preheated when we arrived so we could not use it at all on the first night. The hot tub was also fenced off with no view except for a wall. On day 2 the wi-fi went offline for over 24 hours. Staff were friendly but were not able to do much to help.

Lovely site and the lodge itself was nice and clean. Just a few wear n tears. Only thing missing was some steak knives. the hot tub was nice but we wasn't able to use it on the first night and not to much privacy when using it. We must admit we didn't read the small print so having to pay a deposit was a shock ( never done this before), wish we had read the small print because we had booked a mid week break which meant we could of had 2 free spa sessions but this wasn't mentioned. Overall lovely clean site with just a few issues but nothing to spoil a lovely relaxing break.

Overall great stay. Gas cooker and hob were both not working properly through and should of been classed as immediately dangerous and gas capped. Told park staff so hopefully rectified before next visitors. Would recommend

We have stayed before so do love this place but unfortunately on this occasion we had a few gliches. Dirty bedding on arrival, broken door, sink that wasn't functionining properly. For what I paid I don't expect this - disappointing experience.

We have previously stayed at swainswood park near by and thought we would try ashby woulds lodges as there seemed to be more facilities and newer bigger lodges. We payed a lot more money to stay at ashby woulds lodges and we wouldn’t say the higher price is justified. The only difference really is a slightly bigger lodge and sky tv but the lodge was nearly twice as expensive. There was an ipod docking station but couldn’t be used as it was the of apple docking port which were unaware of. The lodge wasn’t really well kept there was a hole in the wall, pieces of trim missing, stained towels, mould in bathroom due to extractor not working, marks on bedding etc although it was clean. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully equipped. The hot tub wasn’t private at all, you could be seen from every angle, even from the front of the lodge where people are passing which resulted in it hardly being used. It also didn’t bubble much and you couldn’t really change the settings much on it. The man came to check on it in the middle of the afternoon every day too so you were also wary of using it until he had been. We didn’t have much dealing with the staff, we checked in late due to traffic so they took our deposit over the phone and said the cabin would be open and that’s the last we heard. The office was closed for two days over new year. Over all we don’t think it is worth the money although we did enjoy our stay. Definitely needs updating, unless there is a cheap deal we won’t be stopping here again.
Vicky from Sheffield (03 January 2018)

We had our second new year break here and enjoyed them both immensely. This year the lodge seemed slightly more tired but beautifully clean. There are walks and cycle paths on the doorstep but, this year, the litter levels in places were terrible. . that said, we had a great time.

Park is lovely, kept very clean, fountain is a nice focal point
Mark from Rotherham (27 December 2017)

We had an absolutely lovely stay here over christmas. Lodge had everything we needed and more, very quiet and lodges don't overlook each other's hot tubs. We assumed it was in the middle of nowhere but is actually in a small village, which was great as only had to travel a couple of minutes by car to get to a shop. Would definitely recommend and return!
Billie (27 December 2017)

The lodge we stayed in could do with a bit of tlc some things like cooking utensils need updating toilet seat not fitting properly oven door would not close properly so took longer to cook things plates more for children than adults wifi intermittent,no staff about only on check in and out days ,phone number in case you need anybody tried to ring but no answer, site was clean and very quiet not a lot for children to do on site need to travel out and about but all in all yes we would return to this site if the price was right
Steven from Cheshire (27 December 2017)

We stayed in lodge 4 for 4 nights over christmas. The lodge was very nice but was showing signs of disrepair. There were things that needed repairing and the bathroom mats had seen better days. We could of done with more plates and mugs and we had no small kitchen knives in the lodge which made peeling vegetables for dinner very difficult as we only had two large carving knives to use. We found the beds very hard to sleep on. On the plus side, we enjoyed having sky tv and the hot tub was lovely, we were able to use it one the day we arrived as it was up to temperature of 38.5. The nice touches were the bottle of wine and a box of chocolates left in the fridge and the use of bathrobes and slippers and the toiletries left in the bathroom's. We were able to use the wi-fi for a couple of days and then it stopped working. The lodge got nice and warm but you need to press the boost button every couple of hours to keep it warm.
