Delightful cottage in a beautiful location, right alongside the river gowy. the cottage was built for holiday-makers and everything needed is provided .. high quality as well as clean and functional. the owners are charming and helpful. . there are walking trails close to the property, but anything else you would like to do is probably a car ride away (the nearest pub is about 4 miles). but, given that, the cottage is well-positioned as a center with easy access to chester and the many local attractions. . if it is important to you, be aware that internet access is challenging, but that's the only reservation. we intend to return to the area next year, and we hope watermill cottage will be available when we make our plans -- it will be our destination of choice. Peter from Grass Valley, California (08 June 2015)
Lovely hosts, problem with hot water was attempted to resolve promptly, lovely views, overall quite pricey for what we got compared with other places we've stayed. Great it was dog friendly. Nice wine and chocs on arrival Kate from Camborne (03 April 2015)
Watermill cottage was very nice, clean and attractive. I thought it was value for money. It is situated Marjorie from Accrington (13 March 2015)
My family and I had a wonderful time at the cottage. It is lovely and peaceful, but ideally located for access to chester and its amenities. Tattenhall is just a short drive away (less than 5 minutes) and it has a pup and some takeaways for those moments when you don't want to cook. Overall the whole family enjoyed their stay. David from Northallerton (20 February 2015)
Very nice cottage lovely views just open the curtains to see the cows and in the field and the heron in the water the sportsman pub is very good near by it was a great short break Geoff from Orpington Kent (14 November 2014)
Excellent cottage James (17 October 2014)
Lovely cottage in a very peaceful setting and centrally located for many attractions Amanda from Chesham (29 August 2014)
Fantastic location, right next to the mill stream where we saw a kingfisher, heron, fox and the resident ducks. Very peaceful only sound is from the neighbouring cows. . the cottage is pretty well equipped although we would have liked more shelves around the sink in the bathroom and also some plastic patio chairs outside the french windows would be nice. The only downside of the location is that when you opened the french windows a lot of flies came inside and on a couple of days it was pongy (only to be expected on a working farm). the owners were friendly and dealt with a couple of problems quickly. The nearby town of tattenhall is nice and we had some very good food at the sportsmans arms pub. Overall a very good week. Steve from Barnstaple (25 July 2014)
Beautiful location - warm and friendly reception - ideal base for exploring local tourist attractions. David from Edinburgh (20 June 2014)
Amazing cottage. Everything was perfect. Lovely views to enjoy. Owner was very helpful and kind. Only down side was the local pub was further than it said and the road you'd use to walk is quite a twisty national speed limit country road. Chester was also further than we anticipated. Alison from West Midlands. (26 May 2014)
Cottage was of an excellent standard - we had a wonderful time and would recommend it to others. the property was within a short distance to many attractions ie chester and wonderful place the eat. Confirmed Purchaser (23 May 2014)
I cant wait to go back. was an excellent base for Chester and surrounding areas. we visited the zoo, the aquarium, Alton Towers, Blakemere, Cholmondeley Castle, shopping in Chester. The cottage was lovely, very relaxing. the cows in the fields and the river on the grounds was a lovely sight and sound. Everything you need is nearby. I would definitely recommend this property Miss G from Durham (20 July 2012)
Yes this cottage is lovely and the owner very helpful. We would recomend it to any one. Wellies would have been useful to explore the near by fields and hedgerows Mr S from Xxxx (14 May 2012)
Outstanding quality accommodation in a tranquil location, yet well placed for reaching all the major regional centres and attractions. Very friendly and helpful hosts; the cottage was a great credit to them. Mr G from Keighley (04 June 2011)
I would definitely recommend this holiday to others, and already have to family and friends. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and the cottage is beautiful, we will definitely be returning in the future and look forward to it. Lovely, peaceful and very tranquil setting. Couldn't have asked for more just for the wind to have died down slightly but it sure didn't ruin the break. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Miss D from Barnsley (10 February 2011)
Delightful cottage in an excellent location. Mr J from Crewe (05 January 2011)
I would definitely recommend this cottage for lots of reasons. Location was excellent and views were stunning. Owners were very welcoming and the cottage itself was pristine. It was very relaxing for a quiet break yet if required endless attractions quite close by. The cottage being on a farm was a nice experience and the fact that the owner told us we needed anything at all to just knock on their door (how is that for making sure your stay is perfect). As we had everything we needed we were left with total privacy. Mrs T from Liverpool (09 November 2010)
Fantastic quality cottage in a perfect location for chester, outlet shopping village, Zoo, and the ice cream parlour is just minutes away! Miss D from Banbury (06 October 2010)
Yes, we would highly recommend this holiday to others. The owners were warm and friendly, the cottage was very well maintained and decorated/furnished to a high standard. There were lots of places to visit very close by and really useful information in the cottage about local attractions. Although the cottage was on the same grounds as the owners' own house it still felt very private and peaceful. Mrs A from Chester Le Street (27 July 2010)
Beautiful modern cottage. Well equipped. Great views. Good for people with walking difficulties as all flat except for a small step into the cottage. Parking was right outside. Very clean. Nice fenced area which was great for keeping toddlers and dogs safe from the river nearby. Mrs S from Leigh (08 June 2010)
Excellent cottage in beautiful and peaceful location. Mrs U from Cockermouth (04 May 2010)
