We were looking forward to our stay ,the view was lovely, we thought it was very overpriced for what we greeted with, we weren't expecting to clean, it was very basic ,the towels smelt as though they had been stored near someone who heavily smoked l had to wash before use we only had a hand towel and shower towel ,we had to use for hot tub as well ,it was too hot in the hot tub ,it needed to be cooler, no oven gloves or tongs to get anything off grill ,there was an cucumber l found in fridge tucked at the back which had been there some time due to the leakage of it when found what it was ,i had to clean the balcony furniture before we could sit on it ,and sweep the floor, there was no bbq, sorry but l need people to be aware, good job l took cleaning stuff of my own Confirmed Guest from Huntingdon (13 June 2015)
A really nice place to stay if you want peace and quiet. very nice location overlooking the river. you cant help but relax. all the things you need are available. enjoy Kevin from Winsford (30 May 2015)
Beautiful, quiet location. Everything you need and more for a relaxing stay. David from Stockport (31 January 2015)
A perfect home location for exploring the central glasgow to edinburgh corridor. Linlithgow itself is quite special and so is the wheelhouse. We would definitely stay there again. Our only request (hence the 9/10 on equipment pertains to frying pans). we suggest a large lidded pan for stews and stir fries and and a flat bottomed non stick for omelets. Our passion is not just to visit, it is also to cook and entertain guests. Our hosts at the wheelhouse were very kind and accommodating. We didn't know how to regulate the heat and that was quickly sorted. . overall it is a fantastic house from several perspectives: the home and owners - spacious home and kind owners, the location - central scotland is very beautiful plus fast rail access to glasgow and edinburgh, but most of all the wheelhouse is a great respite from life's stresses and strains. . if time permits we will be back ! Graham from Calgary, Canada (20 September 2014)
Lovely property and fantastic setting, great if you want to get away from it all! Fantastic wildlife. Mr P from High Wycombe (29 June 2011)

A great cottage away from the hustle and bustle of the city, to relax. Miss M from Glasgow (24 November 2010)
Our holiday at The Wheelhouse was, without doubt, the best holiday that we have had to date! The accommodation was spotless, well equipped and, the hot tub and beautiful Chinese vase decoration added just the right touch of luxury. The sound of the rushing water outside gave some very peaceful nights sleep! The location is so perfect for exploring Edinburgh (recommend Park & Ride), Stirling and many other places of interest for all - that is not to forget Linlithgow itself with beautiful Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the lovely walk around Linlithgow loch. Linlithgow and very nearby has so many places to eat out that we could not explore them all in one week! We have already booked for next year! This is a must do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ms C from Grays (12 October 2010)
