Absolutely perfect, cottage is clean and well equipped. we had beautiful weather which of course helps but the cottage was warm and cosy and feels really homely. Star gazing in the hot tub is really special and we loved the lambs just next door.
Sharon from Cleveland (10 April 2015)

What a gem! the perfect get away for total relaxation.
Rachel from Northamptonshire (06 April 2015)

We had a wonderful time, so relaxing. Very friendly owners.
Mandy from Chigwell, Essex (29 March 2015)

Great stay for us with relatives in shropshire. You need to be prepared for the remote if you stay here. Great for stargazing. Very comfortable and warm. The owners kept us well supplied with fuel for the bio-mass heating system for our march stay. Might need to check an ordnance survey map for location. Our sat- nav got us there but not by the direct route!
Richard from Crawley Down W. Sussex (20 March 2015)

Fantastic stay away. We stayed here for christmas. The hosts put a tree and decorations up it looked so sweet. Stunning views, amazing hosts and beautiful lodge. Will stay there again. Only thing I would suggest is a larger more comfy sofa was the only niggle. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Confirmed Guest (28 December 2014)

Best weekend away we have had! and the owners were really welcoming. Perfect.
Alex from Rowley Regis (West Midlands) (24 November 2014)

Ideal if you want to get away from it all, beautiful view, very peaceful. Owners very helpful. Lovely clean hot tub.
Joe from Sawley (10 November 2014)

Lovely lodge in very remote area where dark skies are the norm. Well laid out and very clean. No mobile signal so truly a remote area. Being able to enjoy the hot tub whilst stargazing was amazing. . will definately be going back.
Jude from Northampton (06 October 2014)

We loved it, the only downside and some would say its a plus was the lack of phone signal
Carolyn from Bedford (22 September 2014)

Beautiful lodge absolutely spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Location is off the beaten track for those who want peace and quiet it is perfect. We used as a base to go to local attractions plenty to see and do within easy commute. Would definitely recommend.
Lorna from March (19 September 2014)

A lovely stay. The cottage was perfect with all the facilities you need. Very tidy and clean. A bit of milk for tea with biscuits on arrival! a wonderful view. The only thing is that it is very secluded and not very many places to choose from to eat nearby. But what we did find in bishop's castle was delicious! the three tuns pub especially.
Lucy from Surrey (01 September 2014)

A wonderful lodge in beautiful surroundings with fantastic owners on hand if required. Topped off with a lovely hot tub, stunning views and a working sheepdog to keep you entertained. The stay could not be faulted.
Neil from Ramsey (29 August 2014)

Very friendly and helpful owners who were very attentive. Beautiful views, peace and quiet and the added bonus of a relaxing hot tub!
Syd from Broughty Ferry Dundee (22 August 2014)

Quiet little place... perfect for couples getaway. Me and my girlfriend loved it. Waking up to little lambs bleeting was amazing. . . the couple that run the place were really nice.
David (08 August 2014)

Tom from Dalton Piercy (09 August 2013)

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the larches & it was fantastic! The cabin was so clean, it is in the most peaceful surroundings and was everything we hoped for. The hot tub is amazing and after a day out walking did the trick. Ann & Gordon were fantastic hosts they have thought of everything. The village of bishops castle is close by with shops & restaurants. We Will definitely be Recommending this lodge to friends & family. Our dog enjoyed the break as much as we did. Thank you.

We have just spent a week at The Larches. It was fantastic. The owners were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. It was beautifully clean and well equipped. The hot tub had uninterrupted views across the countryside. We would recommend a visit to Cardingmill Valley for walking and scenery.

Just returned from a very relaxing break at the Larches with my two children. others reviews are spot on with regard to location, luxury and hospitality which are all wonderful. On top of this the accomodation is well furnished and extra thought has gone into providing maps, books and board games, which I found great when snowed in for two days.

Miss F from Newcastle (23 March 2012)

Our 2nd visit to "The Larches". Gordon and Anne are the most wonderful and welcoming hosts. Again, this is without a doubt the most peaceful and picturesue place we have ever booked. We would highly recommend "The Larches" for a relaxing break. Our neighbours were adorable (the lambs). Thank you Gordon and Anne for our daily fresh eggs, a small token that was very much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you soon

Wonderful hosts in Gordon and Ann, lovely welcome pack. The cabin is well equipped even down to dressing gowns. A lovely peaceful setting to get away from it all but not too far from some decent pubs. The Hot tub was bliss!
Mrs B from Hull (22 September 2011)

This was the most fantastic location we could have wished for. The owners were most welcoming and had tea, coffee, washing machine tablets, and washing powder available for our arrival. the scenery is breathtaking with open unspoilt views of the countryside. This cottage is very secluded and although there is one other lodge close by it is not overlooked at all. A special thank you to the owner for letting my dog have full use of the vast field behind our cottage. We are quite active and went for a couple of runs whilst we were here, it is hilly but beautiful. Shopping and the ice rink at Telford are only 45 minutes away. Quad biking was a mere 20 minutes away and the most amazing fun for a 1st timer. Shrewsbury is a short drive away with an abundance of shops and restaurants. The most perfect get away to relax from everyday life, we cant wait to go back!
Miss D from Stoke-On-Trent (06 September 2011)

Fabulous location, lovely helpful owners.
Mrs S from Nottingham (19 June 2011)

Good location, facilities and value for money!
Miss D from Birmingham (27 April 2011)

The most idyllic and perfect family weekend break, so good i wish i could keep it as our secret.
Mrs P from Stourbridge (29 March 2011)

We would like to keep this beautiful place our little secret. This was our second visit and even better than the first, a total chill out place for the whole family. Fabulous views, wonderful walks with the dog, totally undisturbed heaven. The hosts Anne and Gordon are wonderful, whole hearted people, it is a home from home without the stresses of the world. Clear evening skies to sit in the hot tub and watch the stars, without a single sound AMAZING. We love this place and will go back time and time again.
Mrs P from Stourbridge (28 March 2011)

Views from the hot tub of rolling hills by day & stars by night. So peaceful & tranquil. The lovely owners try & make your stay perfect.
Mr G from Derby (27 March 2011)

If you want a place to really get away from everyone then The Larches is perfect - totally private, stunning views, and such a lovely couple to welcome you. The hot tub completes it!! Perfect for a romantic weekend!!
Miss H from Walsall (23 March 2011)

We went to The Larches for a honeymoon and a rest from everything. It was an ideal choice, it is so private, quiet and peaceful. The cabin is extremely well equipped and everything is maintained to a high level, my husband thought it had only just opened. The owners, Gordon and Anne, are a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful, and they also respect your privacy. Nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend this holiday accommodation to anyone, and I certainly hope to go again!
Mrs T from Darlington (05 January 2011)

Very peaceful location just a short drive from Bishops Castle. Helpful owners live nearby and are on hand if needed, but are not intrusive at all. Wonderful hot tub to relax in.
Mrs H from Wallasey (28 August 2010)

This was a great break away. Great location and accommodation. Nice peacful holiday, lovely views from cottage. Owners are very nice and helpful. Some great walks near by, Offa's Dyke path only half a mile down the road. Local pub 3 miles away, in a nice quite village. Just a great place to relax and watch the wildlife.
Miss C from Stanford-Le-Hope (03 June 2010)

The Larches is the place to go for a relaxing break the accommodation was spot on and the view's were stunning from every angle. The hot tub was a great place to chill after exploring the local area and the neighbours were so cute (lambs).
Mrs S from Pontefract (03 May 2010)

Anne & Gordon couldn't have been more helpful. They are lovely, there when you need them but also leave you alone. The cottage has every mod con you could want. The scenery is outstanding and even though we were snowed in we still made full use of the hot tub. The hot tub is great especially in the evening under the stars, when surrounded by snow. Great way to see the New Year in. Anne bought us two make do sledges so that we could sledge in the field. The peace and quiet is just what we needed after a hectic year, no mobile or internet connection in the cottage it was absolutely fabulous. You can still keep in touch with the outside world if you want to by standing on the decking. Would recommend this to anyone as a great place to unwind.
Mr T from Nottingham (06 January 2010)

A great break with lovely facilities - will definitely book again.
Mrs S from Warrington (15 December 2009)

Everyone should have holiday here! Everything about The Larches was exceptional. Perfect location. Clean and very comfortable. Fantastic, well-maintained hot tub. Attentive owners. Well-equipped kitchen. Excellent value for money as it worked out at only £20 per person per night, there's no way you could get a hotel for that!
Mrs H from Preston (09 December 2009)

For a get away from it all break, you won't find a better property. An idyllic setting to forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Whether it's for a romantic couples break or a family get away to reconnect this cottage has it all, even a hot tub to soak in after a hard days relaxing.
Mrs R from Neath (25 November 2009)

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay, the scenery was beautiful, the lodge itself is very well presented, comfortable and cosy. A wonderful dog friendly lodge with enclosed safe garden, wonderful walks....and not forgetting a relaxing hot tub to watch the stars at night...
Mrs R from Ilminster (17 November 2009)

Our stay at The Larches was fantastic. We are 4 hard working mums who escaped here for a 40th birthday and a relaxing break - we did not leave the cabin all weekend! We had loads of plans to go walking and explore the surrounding areas but the cabin was so well equipped and comfy that we never left!!! We had loads of fun in the hot tub, and Ann and Gordon are brilliant hosts - nothing seems like too much trouble for them. We will be back again, with the family and on our own. Hopefully we can explore the gorgeous surrounding area next time! I would recommend this holiday to everyone - brilliant!
Mrs P from Loughborough (04 October 2009)

The hot tub was amazing and made the holiday for us, a family of four.
Mr T from Manchester (22 August 2009)

Relaxing, great outlook, hot tub and very good accommodation. Lots to do if you do your research and lovely surrounding villages.
Mr L from Sandy (28 July 2009)

We have stayed in similar properties before but never in such a good location. We had buzzards and red kites flying over us whilst in the hot tub. We will certainly book again!
Mr C from Peterborough (25 June 2009)

This location is ideal if you want to completely chill out. The cottage itself is beautiful and furnished to a high standard. The owners are very helpful and friendly and the hot tub is excellent for unwinding. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Mrs B from London (06 June 2009)

We have just returned from a long weekend at The Larches and I can definitely say its the nicest place we have stayed in for a long time. The owners are lovely people, very helpful and charming and the accommodation is excellent, spotless, comfortable, roomy and the hot tub is fabulous!!!! The views and walks around the lodge (I'll never eat lamb again they are so beautiful!) are also to be seen.We dined at the nearby village of Bishop's Castle - Castle Hotel and Three Tuns - both lovely food and would recommend to anyone. A day trip to Shrewsbury was worth the journey - a charming town with nice selection of shops, cafes etc. We will definitely visit again to recharge our batteries as soon as possible.
Mrs W from Chesterfield (26 April 2009)

Qe had a brilliant week, the log cabin is in the most peaceful location and was very relaxing, especially sitting in the hot tub under the stars! We will definitely go back!
Mrs S from Walsall (06 March 2009)

If you want to get away from it all & enjoy some peace & relaxation then nowhere could be more perfect. The hot tub is blissful overlooking the fields & the accommodation itself is a home away from home, with all you could need. Definitley be going back again!
