Facilities and location were excellent and the owner, who lived on site, was absolutely lovely and really welcoming and helpful. I would not hesitate to book this property again. Lucy from Lancashire (11 April 2015)
Have stayed once before and intend to again. Lovely cottage in a perfectly peaceful location. Confirmed Guest (28 March 2015)
Cottage was excelent, though we had an extremely traumatic time finding the cottage as it is not signposted very well - a sat nav is definitely required. Not sure what was up with the wi-fi as our devices even though connecting werent allowing access to the internet.... Sue from Guisborough (31 October 2014)
Lovely property, just a bit awkward having bathroom upstairs and bedroom down Confirmed Purchaser (04 October 2014)
A cottage that actually is a cottage. A pleasant and relaxing week with countryside views to the rear. Slightly odd layout as bedroom is off the kitchen/diner and lounge is upstairs as is the bathroom (long climb in the dark if needed in the night!). owner very nice hence the extra star in the overall rating. The fresh eggs that she left us meant boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast for the first time for years! Ian from Waterlooville (27 September 2014)
The cottage was absolutely perfect for us. lovely quiet location but also close to where our relatives lived in southport. sam and his mother were so nice and welcoming. we look forward very much to staying in the cottage again in the near future. J. from Chilton, Oxfordshire (13 September 2014)
Lovely quiet location. owner very friendly and appreciated the extra touches. you need a car as it is rural. lots of fabulous pubs nearby. Jackie from Ayr (14 July 2014)
Think the accommodation was not accurately described. From memory description stated up to six people. But it contained only one double bedroom!. John from Coventry (11 July 2014)
Excellent cottage well located for a peaceful holiday. Friendly and helpful owner living close by but not at all intrusive. We had a great holiday using this comfortable cottage as a base. We would recommend it and will certainly return. Sidney from Durham (24 May 2014)
Just returned from a lovely weeks holiday at Shamrock Cottage. Cottage is perfect, in a lovely location, just 10-15 mins to Southport and other attractions and beaches. The owners made us very welcome throughout our stay and really are a lovely family. Our children aged 6 and 1 1/2 would have stayed in the cottage all week given the chance, they couldn`t get home fast enough after trips out to see the animals!Would highly recommend it if you want a nice peaceful holiday, in a lovely cottage. Mrs M from Falkirk (02 August 2011)
Just returned from a lovey weeks holiday at Shamrock Cottage. We arrived to a lovely cottage, in a lovely location, with fresh eggs and flowers, with a little welcoming note. The owners are a lovely family and the animals were just a bonus for the kids-our 6 year old loved watching the sheep run havock round the vegetable plot and our 1 year old loves ducks, so it was just paradise to him! In a great location 10-15 mins from Southport, Martins Mere was lovely and the Southport Air show was brilliant! We had lovely weather, caught up with family and had a nice relaxing holiday. The cottage was just perfect and we would love to return in the not to distant future! Mrs M from Falkirk (02 August 2011)
Perfect, peaceful wonderful break. Everything we needed was there. The owners were helpful and friendly. We have returned home feeling completely refreshed. We would highly recommend this cottage and location. Mrs B from Bedford (24 April 2011)
Fabulous cottage with friendly and considerate owners, we really felt included in the smallholding with the highlight for our children feeding the animals, it was home from home. Mrs P from Torpoint (16 September 2010)
A great holiday cottage, everything you need is there. No need to bring the kitchen sink, just yourself. Hoseasons and the owners were fab a max 10 out of 10. Mr R from Thatcham (30 August 2010)
An excellent place to cycle! Mr B from Loughborough (18 November 2009)
Would definitely recommend this property.....very friendly owners, and lots of animals around the area to look at......our little 19 week old didn't really get the animals yet, but we are looking forward to returning to Shamrock Cottage when he will appreciate it a bit more!! Mrs O from Carrigaline (16 August 2009)
Lovely little cottage. Feels very rustic, would recommend 'The Farm' for local produce before heading off to the supermarkets!! Lots of little hidden places! Miss Y from Northampton (09 August 2009)
This cottage is ideally placed for coast, country and city. If you want a quiet hideaway with easy access to varied, exciting activities - then book Shamrock Cottage!! Ms R from Stevenage (08 June 2009)
