We had a fantastic week in this beautiful place. the location is amazing - right on the loch shore with access to a great stretch of pebble beach (perfect for campfires), and nestled in a lovely garden. total peace and quiet, and lots of walks right from the door, including the ascent of ben lomond if you get the weather for it. The house is much bigger than it looks on the photos and we had lots of space for 2 families of 4 - the kids loved the summer house, as well as disappearing off into the gardens to explore, build dens etc. the kitchen is huge and well enough equipped for baking as well as day to day catering. . it is at least 10 minutes careful slow drive along the unmade road to get there, but for us that was part of the joy as you really are away from it all, and no passing traffic. . no internet - be prepared if you are here with kids!. some of the furniture is very worn, but at least we didn't have to worry about the kids damaging anything - it feels more like staying in the home of an elderly eccentric relative than a holiday home, and for us that was a good thing. The big oven could do with servicing as at least one element is not working, but there is a 2nd oven so we coped. Everything else worked perfectly - plenty of hot water, washing machine, dishwasher, heating. . the caretaker was extremely helpful - thank you! Jo from Otley (30 May 2015)
We love this house & have been 3 times now. The house itself is very remote which we love, but the road/track to the house makes access slow & tricky. The house is extremely spacious with great grounds but would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues due to a lot of uneven ground. This house is great for kids to have space, freedom & explore and there is plenty room for more than one family to share. The views, peace & tranquility makes this the perfect place to get away from it all & relax especially as there is no wifi. Sue from Midlothian (18 April 2015)
Excellent location ,fantastic house perfect for10 people .although some of the furniture needs upgrading !:)will definitely be coming again Ciraj from Preston (23 August 2014)
Accommodation was very nice, lovely location and provided the peace and quiet we were looking for. No wifi or internet connection which depressed the oldest child for the first day (teenager) until he got over it and started to enjoy himself!. a couple of comments to make are that you really need that insect repelent, the midgies are rife and quite hungry! and the garden at the back is a tad overgrown (probably due to the lovely weather so shouldn't complain too much) making it a bit difficult to get to the garden chalet. The only real complaint I can say is that the access road to the lodge is a real dirt track (over a mile long) which takes 10 minutes to traverse as you have to take it so slowly.. you really need something with a high ground clearance if you don't want to be stressed out every time you have to travel along it. Apart from that the lodge is lovely and the location is stunning and had everything we needed (like a home from home). John from A Couple Of Comments To Make Are That You Really N (19 July 2014)
The road was a disaster. If the road had been better I would come back, but sadly not up to the standard I expected. I dreaded each drive and my car was badly beaten especially with the bad rain. Catherine (10 May 2014)
What a fantastic home from home. beautiful house, amazing setting, just everything about it is perfect for that 'get away from it all' holiday. From ten years of age all the way up to eighty, we all loved it - even the dog!!! almost don't want to review it too highly or we'll never be able to get a booking again! really good for the soul. Xxx Ruth from West Wickham, Kent (10 August 2013)
Beautiful rustic cottage surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenary in the world. Excellent for mountain biking, hill walking and simply relaxing. Mrs W from Dunfermline (03 April 2011)
This is a marvellous location for a get away from it holiday, although still well within commuting distance to Glasgow and the Trossachs. Mr M from London (05 July 2008)
This accommodation felt like a home not just a house, the facilities were excellent and everyone had a fantastic time! If you want to relax and get away from it all there's no better place! Miss E from Tamworth (24 June 2006)
