We had a great time at oak tree cottage, lovely woodland walks for the dogs on ur doorstep, symonds yat, was a great place, for children an adults, would visit oak tree cottage again . Cath from Devon (29 May 2015)
Great location. Loads of places to go nearby. Cottage was very well equipped with information, books and games, Fiona from Southport (13 April 2015)
A lovely property, well equipped and very clean. Nicci from London (10 April 2015)
Well equipped cottage but problems with dishwasher and lights in conservatory and restrictions on use of heating took the edge off our enjoyment. Patrick from Bracknell (27 March 2015)
Cottage very comfortable. Location great if you enjoy walking. Dave from Luton (20 March 2015)
This was a christmas booking. the main problem was the completely inadequate heating. the central heating was on a timer we were told not to alter, timed to come on for a couple of hours in the morning and again at night. but we were there all day with family. it was very cold. . . the kitchen was well equipped but the door fell off the dishwasher and a small leak developed in the roof over one of the bedrooms. there is a pleasant conservatory but it was unusable, partly because it was so cold and partly because the remote to switch on the light didn't work. . the location is as described. a car is absolutely essential. . I would not recommend this property for a winter booking. thinking about it now, we should have complained. we were just relieved to get back to adequate heating. Natalie (28 December 2014)
Cottage was extremely well laid out & well-appointed. Location is easy to find & very charming -- we simply found that as we were cursed with indifferent weather it was harder to fill the time in for our teenage children Paul from Wakefield (22 August 2014)
Beautiful spacious cottage with everything you needed provided for. Friendly owners. lovely walks from your door. would definitely gprs back and would recommend. Anita from Stoke On Trent (08 August 2014)
We had a very comfortable week in oak tree cottage. The garden is very spacious and forest within meters of the front door. It's a great location for the many activities on offer in the forest of dene. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans for home cooking and our children played in the games room giving us some peace and quiet. Rachel from New Malden (30 May 2014)
Oak tree cottage is a beautiful house in a lovely location. A really great family escape. Joanne from Liverpool (21 April 2014)

This is our 3rd visit and we were very lucky with the weather, sunny virtually all week. Great walks as usual, we even came across a herd of wild Boar, who were thankfully more scared of us than we were of them !Food at The Mill Race in Walford was as good as usual- no doubt we will be back again ! Mr R from Stoke-On-Trent (31 August 2012)
What a fantastic cottage- lovely seting and really well equipped with all you need. We enjoyed the games room and the pool table with a boys versus girls competition over three nights. We enjoyed forest walks, The Dean Heritage Centre and canoeing along The Wye at Symonds Yat. Thanks. Dr G from Rickmansworth (24 August 2012)
Best equipped accommodation we have been in - we wanted for nothing - Games room an excellent addition. Lovely walks and bike riding in beautiful locations and close to many attractions. Will definitely recommend. Thanks Mr W from Wednesbury (17 August 2012)
What a superbly appointed cottage. Made to feel very welcome by the owners - even the dog was catered for! Very convenient for Symonds Yat,Ross,Gloucester and Hereford. Great for walking but the dog was knackered after three days and refused to gome out with me! Forest of Dean literally on the doorstep. Will definitely stay here again. Mr A from Heywood (07 September 2011)
Oak Tree Cottage was extremely clean and well appointed, with a beautiful garden which was not overlooked and was very secure for dogs. Conservatory was a bonus, as were the additional touches such as pool table in games room and towels for dogs. Walks into the Forest of Dean were 20 yards from the cottage, and the location was central for Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Ledbury, Symonds Yat & Gloucester. Thoroughly recommended. Mr R from Stoke-On-Trent (03 May 2011)
What a lovely cottage. Well appointed and neat as a pin. We had a lovely Christmas break. The owners were so kind to put up a real tree and make the cottage festive. The games room was also a great hit. We had two babies in our party so the stair gate, high chair and cot were much appreciated. All had a really good time. Mrs E from London (13 January 2011)

A fantastic cottage in a quiet rural location, the cottage is very well equipped and dog friendly. Its located within a short drive to many walks in the Forest of Dean and to the Welsh border.
