Lovely place hottub not quite big enough struggled to get 4 in it clean place though but beds were hard but staff said they would look into changing it Louise from Sheffield (15 June 2015)
Despite the query I had with the 'child's' bed all 9 of us (7-69 year olds) managed to sleep comfortably. Any problems encountered with equipment during our stay were promptly dealt with in a friendly manner. I did leave a list of suggestions for further improvements on our departure as requested by the proprietors to further enhance the enjoyment of the property by future guests. The hot tub was a big hit with all of us and we loved the amount of space available both indoors and out. New pastures is brilliantly situated for access to walking and cycling tracks and most of our days (thanks to good weather) were spent doing just this. . shugborough hall and twycross zoo were enjoyed by all who went. Ashby castle (ashby de la zouch) is also well worth a visit. If only we could fit in double the number of bodies we would love to return for a big family holiday. Kathryn from Penrhiwllan (30 May 2015)
Lovely clean house, hot tub is great. Shower didn't work all weekend even though we reported it to caretaker. Fumes from boiler were overwhelming. Owner complained about noise at 8.30 on saturday night when the only noise we remember making at that time was singing happy birthday and laughing! Sharon from Rotherham (16 March 2015)
Lovely size cottage, in need of a few tweaks here & there. . shower didn't work properly so we all had to have baths, there was 9 of us in our party so this took a bit of time each morning! . could do with another shower in the en suite upstairs. . definitely feel a dining table in the large lounge would be of great benefit as the one in the kitchen is too small & was in the way. . the beds were also a little hard & uncomfortable. . however the housekeeper & the maintenance man were both very helpful when needed to sort any problems or for advice on the local area. Jules from Llandudno (02 March 2015)
Cottage was lovely and the hot tub a fantastic bonus. However some of the beds were extremely hard and could do with replacing. That being said the eight of us had a wonderful time here. Confirmed Guest from North East (26 January 2015)
Wonderful weekend with the girls, great walks, and best of all was the fab hot tub at the end of the day. Lovely property very spacious. Would definitely recommend new pastures. Susan from Liverpool (19 January 2015)
Myself and friends have stayed at new pastures twice so far and intend to go each and every year. We had a fabulous time! would definitely recommend. Kacey (12 January 2015)
New pastures was a wonderful place to holiday! spacious and light, we loved it, especially the hot tub! would definately reccomend this cottage, and hope to go again ourselves. It could have done with a few more crocks and cutlery for 9 people and kitchen seating was a little tight, otherwise we would give it 100% rating Lynn from Evesham (28 December 2014)
Desperately needs wifi in this day and age. Trip advisor etc recommended every where but not available here. Not an expensive addition. Also needs another shower. 1 for 9 visitors is not enough .sleeps 9 not strictly true, 1 bed only suitable for very young child. Hilary from Hullbridge (01 November 2014)
Beautiful place, very spacious , home from home feel. Good location and great value for money. Would stay again. Tracey from Hornchurch (13 October 2014)
We had great time, close many of derby shires holiday attractions.alton towers drayton manor.matlock and many more.some of the kitchen and lounge furniture in need of repair or replacement.still 2 light bulbs missing in lounge.incorrect bulb fitted in the upstairs bath exploded and cracked def user badly could have caused injury.bulb has been replaced the next day with the correct type.hot tub a great asset very nice garden Andrew from Chatteris (30 August 2014)
We had an enjoyable stay at new pastures, the cottage was comfortable and clean but a few items need replacing such as toaster, mug rack and a bigger table in kitchen area with more chairs as not everyone can use the breakfast bar.we took kitchen chairs out to garden area as not enough chairs in garden to accommodate our party.garden is a suntrap and the added bonus of hot tub was great as weather was superb.we also felt that blackout blinds in downstairs bedrooms would be appreciated as brights lights from road and adjoining property shone all night into the rooms.a showerhead in the ensuite bathroom upstairs would be a useful addition as trying to get our adult family of 7 sorted out in the morning proved time consuming as everyone wanted a shower downstairs.a lick of paint to some areas would brighten the cottage up as looking a bit shabby in places we visited bakewell, buxton, heights of abraham, matlock bath and crich and ashbourne and enjoyed cream teas, lovely lunches and picnics and barbeques, local fish and chip shop superb and also cricketeers pub during our week away, beautiful area, lots to see and do. Barbara from South Ockendon Essex (28 June 2014)
Great location and clean spacious house . wi fi would have enhanced stay. Only negative was had a complaint from a very sensitive neighbour who complained about noise of children playing !! did make us feel uncomfortable bearing in mind they were all in bed by 8 pm and were just being normal children !!! Paulal from Littlehampton (31 May 2014)
This is a lovely spacious house with good facilities although it is on a very busy road. My family all had a great time with plenty to do in the area .the cricketts pub and restaurant , about a mile away is well worth a visit.the only thing I would say is although it sleeps a lot of people , a bigger table would be an advantage as you cant all sit down together to eat, some have to sit on high stools at a breakfast bar. Thats just a small moan! Anne from Alnwick (31 August 2013)
We enjoyed our stay at New Pastures. The house is large, well-presented, clean and comfortable. There is plenty of choice when looking locally for things to do. We were there for a long weekend to spend time as a family so we visited the forest centre at Rosliston where we joined a walk and then relaxed while the children played in the play area. We also visited Tamworth Castle (interesting, especially as it was the last day of the Staffordshire Hoard Exhibition there). The surrounding park is excellent - a really good children's play area, Crazy Golf, picnic tables and pleasant walks. Our only adverse comment is that there were some strange lacks in the equipment provided at the house, for example for a house with sleeping room for up to 9 there weren't really any pans big enough to cook a meal for that many people. Mrs W from Chester (20 September 2011)
Spacious well appointed cottage in a great location for many activities. Mr C from Southampton (09 May 2011)
It is a lovely base for various different attractions and suitable for families and couples. Ms E from Fraserburgh (17 February 2011)
The hot tub is great - even in the snow! Miss M from Guildford (08 December 2010)
