A lovely week spent with the dogs, great area with lovely walks and everything we needed for a great week away. Wendy from Basingstoke (23 May 2015)
Beautiful peaceful location, with lovely walks from your doorstep. The lodge was comfortable with a lovely hot tub to relax in. Sandra from Blandford Forum (16 May 2015)
A fantastic location with some stunning views. The cottage was well equipped and comfortably furnished. . the hot-tub was a great hit with family and many hours were spent indulging. . on the down side, the cottage wasn't very clean and the bed mattress wasn't the best. . having said that though we would go back as we thoroughly enjoyed our week away. Paul from Nottingham (18 April 2015)
Had a great time, was a bit pricey but overall worth the money. Whole family enjoyed the break- only slight down side is the lodge is that there is a quite an echo when people are walking about inside which carries at night- probably should just have left the kids at home! Richard from Alford (04 April 2015)
Well presented lodge the hot tub was great the only thing I would say is it would have been nice to of had wifi Lawley from Cannock (02 March 2015)
We had a really lovely time. The hot tub was brilliant but little touches like cleanliness of the oven and supply of towels wasn't good. The towels were old and small and only one per person even though there was a hot tub to use. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't come back again. Sarah from Wales (20 December 2014)
Very spacious and nicely presented lodge. Very impressed with the television having a usb port. For information only the tv does not play windows media viewer files, not a problem as we used mp4. The hot tub is well protected from the elements, we used the tub while it was raining heavily without any problems. The only criticism is that the blinds were a little worn especially in the main bedroom. Rob from Manchester (11 October 2014)
Generally very good. Roy from Manchester (26 September 2014)
Lodge was lovely and was clean. Good size for a lodge as we have stayed in other ones. The reason we wouldn't stay again is because we stay in different areas each time we go. Angela from Newcastle (22 September 2014)
Very good accommodation though we would need to look at a different location next time Brian from Hull (19 September 2014)
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday in this peaceful location. Our children especially enjoyed the hot tub which was used daily. We were able to travel easily to local attractions and found the range of activities on offer in nearby towns and villages adequately met our needs as a family (we have four children aged 2, 5, 8 and 11). they all wanted to stay longer than the mon - fri break we had booked. David from Whitley Bay (22 August 2014)
We enjoyed our stay at kipling lodge only drawback was it was wee bit more isolated that we expected Sandra from Central Scotland (18 July 2014)
We have stayed in several locations in this lovely area but sadly the kipling lodge wasn't one of the better ones, in fact it was the worst. In its day it would've been lovely but there was a distinct lack of care and attention from the owners, who we didn't see once during the holiday. The responsibility of the guests to maintain chemical levels of the hot tub is worrying, plus is the water ever changed/tested and the unit/filter cleaned? as said we've stayed in holiday homes of a much higher standard for little or no extra outlay. It's a real shame because it has the potential to be outstanding and the location is superb. Small things like towels heaped over a stool rather than folded, having to clean cutlery and crockery, finding previous guests food in the freezer and a bed that appeared to have been slept in without being changed before our arrival just made the experience less enjoyable. Plus the comfiest beds were the bunk beds, the doubles were noisy and uncomfortable. We still had a lovely holiday but that was down to the area which we love. Customer 13 from Glasgow (05 July 2014)
We found the lodge to be very comfortable & it was supplied with everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was superb & we availed ourselves of it every day. The only dissapointment was that we ran out of places to visit after a few days,& what was on offer was overpriced when you have a family to entertain. However if we lived a little closer this would not detract from staying there as it was in a lovely setting. Robin from Hants (31 August 2013)
It was a really fab accommodation especially as we had a little one in a wheelchair. Central to places to visit, lovely and quiet but not so you'd be afraid to have fun. Everything you needed in the lodge and comfortable. We had great fun in the hot tub! Karen from Southport (17 August 2013)
This is a lovely area with nice walks, the accommodation is lovely and the people we met were friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was noisy in the night it would have been helpful to know how to sort this; as it was we managed by trial and error. Mrs R from Liverpool (18 June 2012)
Stayed in this lodge for the weekend and it was superb, very private and a very much needed break it is spotlessly clean and all you need is inside and the beds are very comfortable. The photos really don't do it justice and the hot tub was excellent. We would definitely recommend it to friends. The Rudyard hotel is good too for a carvery at £3.95. Mr E Taylor. Nottinghamshire. Mrs T from Sutton-In-Ashfield (11 November 2011)
The cottage is in a lovely location and is a great place to stay. The cottage itself is large and bright. There are several places to visit around the area and the lake is a short walk away from the cottage and provides a great walk. All in all, a great holiday had. Mrs O from Scunthorpe (03 July 2011)
Kipling Lodge is a lovely lodge in a beautiful area. The accommodation was of a high standard with all you could need and very homely and comfortable. The hot tub was a great accessory. I would definately tell my friends and family about it if looking to go away to Staffordshire and would happily return myself. Ms N from Brentwood (05 June 2011)
A charming lodge in a tranquil setting, not far off the beaten track. Mrs D from Banchory (30 December 2010)
Lovely cabin...Great location. Mr M from Nuneaton (13 November 2010)
Took my elderly disabled grandmother to this lodge and she had a fantastic time. I could take the car right down to the door which had a ramp entrance their was plenty room inside for her. The bedroom would be abit small if you had a wheel chair but with a zimmer its fine everything on one level. The hot tub was a great hit with the rest of the family also the views where fantastic so quite and peacefully and so close to the locks. Roads round that area are a bit scary at times as you are in the middle of the country. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday this is worth a stay at cant wait to go back. Miss R from Grangemouth (25 July 2010)
The lodge is situated very close to beautiful countryside and a short walk to Rudyard lake voted 3rd most romantic spot in UK but only a couple of miles from a market town so close to amenities! The stars were amazing. Mrs K from Benfleet (07 June 2010)
A private detached lodge with a beautiful view and hot tub to relax in. Walks and a lake very close for exploration. Villiage a short drive away. Miss T from Walsall (31 March 2010)
A superb cabin, central to a large area and we would certainly go again. Mrs G from Stowmarket (11 July 2009)
A lovely lodge, a great location, very well equipped and very relaxing. Mr A from Wimborne (07 July 2009)
I would recommend Kipling Lodge to anyone wanting a nice quiet break in beautiful surroundings and in affordable luxury! We thoroughly enjoyed the tub and the lake! Mr S from London (07 June 2009)
This holiday was perfect. The location was great for exploring this part of England and the hot tub was a lovely added bonus! Mrs F from Aylesbury (22 November 2008)
Fabulously peaceful location, extremely clean and spacious lodge - hot tub much bigger than photos seem - 6 of us were in it comfortably! Mrs Q from Bolton (06 October 2008)
