A lovely location and property. Property dog friendly. Friendly people and a dog friendly pub at the end of the row! lovely walks directly from the property and a short drive to other lovely locations for walks. Would benefit greatly from wifi. I found my g4 mobile didn't get a phone signal and didn't pick up 'bt anywhere' in the property, yet worked a short distance away from the property - I wondered whether sky blocks bt? either way being a single person in a property without any means of contacting the emergency services isn't great. Real plus to find sharp knives in the kitchen, most holiday lets have blunt knives. Confirmed Guest from Worcester (23 May 2015)
Great location & dog friendly Sharon from Suffolk (02 May 2015)
Great location , good walks in the area , nice pub, friendly local people, all in all very. nice Rodney from Workington (06 April 2015)
This was our second visit to hollybush, but will definately not be our last as we are planning to return next year. Wendy from Pinner (28 March 2015)
We had a very good time, great location right on the canal path with good walking for our dog as pets are welcome at the cottage. . plus it is close to the holybush pub for good meals and local beer,. we will definitely be going again. Roy from Reed (21 March 2015)
An excellent cottage in a great location. it was nicely decorated for christmas and with the open fire was warm and cosy. it was perfect for two but might be a bit too compact for more people, especially in the living room. the landlord is friendly and helpful. our boiler packed up on boxing day but he got onto it straight away and had it fixed in no time. the pub a few doors down is also run by the landlord and it serves excellent food and is very welcoming. would definitely stay again. Phil from Blackpool (28 December 2014)
We had the most relaxing week staying at holybush cottage. Its location is great and it is presented to an extremely high standard. A bonus staying this time of the year is the wonderful open fire. We would defiantly stay again. Lesley from Ramsgate Kent (29 November 2014)
Lovely cottage and location. we were very happy with it. we would go again definitely. Elaine from South West (22 September 2014)
Fantastic location. Lovely friendly people. Best holiday we have had in this country. Totally chilled out. Can't wait to visit again. Harding from Milford Haven (02 August 2014)
Beautiful spot. small home, but nicely decorated etc. we couldn't get the radio to work, but that may be because of hills around? Wendy from Lichfield (18 July 2014)
Really lovely cottage, great location and next to a welcoming pub, ideal!! Karen from Warrington (11 July 2014)
In this techno age..update the sky tv to include some broadband .mobile fone reception a bit iffy John from Cardiff (13 June 2014)
We had a lovely week at hollybush cottage. it is in a beautiful spot right in front of the channel. In fact I thought it was even prettier than the photos I had seen. it was good fun watching the barges and you could walk along the channel. also the derbyshire dales are beautiful and well worth a visit. A great holiday. Lynn from Ipswich (10 May 2014)
Terrific location adjacent to the canal and 20 yds from the local pub! lovely well-equipped and comfortable cottage. Highly recommended! Denise from Crawley (19 April 2014)
Great location, great people. Tired cottage, lots of things broken and or dirty. Stuart (17 August 2013)
Lovely clean cottage with all mod cons. Very friendly people in pub and surrounding area with the most lovely walks along canal for the dogs. Only points to pick up on would be a 'manual' of what bins to use for recycling and handy phone numbers, how central heating works etc... would have been really handy. Would also be nice just to leave a pint of milk and a few teabags like a "Welcome Pack" that we have noticed in most properties. Otherwise a good short break cottage. Emma Bridgewater Factory in Stoke a must! Mrs T from Wymondham (30 September 2011)
We really enjoyed the holiday and the relaxed atmosphere of the cottage and surrounding area. Everyone we met was friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcome we felt accepted and part of the small community from arriving. We enjoyed a drink in the friendly nearby pub, lovely walks and exploring the surrounding area. On returning home we had some very good memories of the cottage, the place and the lovely people we had met there. We came home happy rested and chilled! Mr T from Newcastle Upon Tyne (19 July 2011)
This was a splendid holiday and the location in a wonderful valley along by the canal superb. It proved to be an anglers delight - all free. Easy access to wonderful moorland scenery and the nearby Peak District made days out easy and most interesting. We particularly valued the unspoilt countryside and wealth of wildlife. Dr T from Rushden (19 June 2011)
Lovely accommodation and area. Mr K from Tadworth (08 May 2011)
The cottage was in a lovely location the locals friendly had a wonderful holiday would definitely go again to the same cottage. Miss P from Walsall (01 May 2011)
Great location, exeptionally clean and some fantastic walks, friendly welcome in the local pubs, great for base and lots to do in surrounding area. Mr B from Bury (25 April 2011)
very quiet, not a very busy canal, lovely walks but not if you've got walking difficulties. only entertainment around was the pub. would not rebook , did not enjoy that much have had better hols through hoseasons. Mr H from Romsey (05 April 2011)
This cottage was superbly placed for walks. Even though we went with the dog in February there was enough to do locally when weather was poor. People on and walking the canals always friendly. Overall very doggy friendly and the Hollybush Inn was welcoming and served excellent, good value food. Mrs W from Leeds (23 February 2011)
What a lovely cottage, went last year and had to return this year. People so friendly and helpful. Very peaceful area, lots of things to do. Will be returning. Mr S from Colchester (20 September 2010)
Great little cottage ideal for a family of four, we intended to take the dog but changed our mind, however if we had the location/cottage would of been fine as there were good walks along the canal and the pub was dog friendly. Good location for alton towers attractions and peak district. Mr S from Newcastle Upon Tyne (22 August 2010)
It was a brilliant location, our 2 dogs loved it. Mr W from Wallasey (14 March 2010)
A great location, a really great place if you have dogs and the local people were very friendly. Mrs R from Rhyl (21 February 2010)
Hollybush Cottages in Denford Leek is a must for dog owners. The welcome at most pubs in the area is fantastic with many lovely walks on the doorstep Mrs L from Mansfield (22 November 2009)
Hollybush Cottage was warm, clean and very well decorated and it had all the amenities to make it a great place to stay. The pub offered excellent and very good value food and the staff were very friendly. We took our 2 dogs and there were plenty of well signposted walks where you could take them. Mrs T from Aylesbury (23 October 2009)
No improvements could be made as every thing was lovely. Mr S from Colchester (13 September 2009)
We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The location is great with lovely walks on the doorstep, very helpful owners and friendly locals - we will be back! Mrs W from Northampton (21 March 2009)
A lovely cottage in a beautiful area, all you could wish for if you want to get away from it all. Everybody we met was very friendly! Mr T from Tadworth (14 March 2009)
Lovely cottage and very peaceful. We found the local people were very friendly. The cottage was situated by the canal which was really lovely as you could watch the narrow boats go along the canal or if you wanted you could go for walks along the canal banks and take in the scenery. Excellent - I hope to return in the near future. Mrs K from Crawley (20 September 2008)
Ideal for a quiet "away from it all" holiday. Mr H from Eltham (03 June 2006)
