The cottage was basic and pretty clean, but the carpets were depressing in colour and the house smelt damp. It was a little dark and dingy, although the garden was fabulous. Thought the lack of logs for the fire was miserly as was having to pay extra for electricity. How mean! location was definitely not dog friendly due to lack of pavements and the traffic heavy and noisy for such a tiny village. Sazza from Bath (27 June 2015)
Very comfortable and very nice welcome. Lovely cake. Great garden and our large dog felt at home. only small negative was the shower which had a very poor water flow. Colin from Chalfont St Peter (06 April 2015)
The beds were uncomfortably hard and the second bedroom was noisy at night from the boiler. The electric heating was not efficient so downstairs was chilly. The shower was poor and tepid on maximum heat. There was no provision of basics such as soap. Paying extra for electricity and lack of basics meant I felt it was poor value for money. The cottage had evidently been cleaned some time ago as there were a lot of spiders in bath and some cobwebs about, although I realise it's a cottage I think this could be avoided. Claudia from Frome (04 January 2015)
The cottage was lovely the welcome was very good we had dogs the garden was spacious the dogs loved it. Would recommend it to friends and family Cheryl from Basildon Essex (10 October 2014)
Vcomfortable cottage and warmer than the average one. Everything needed was there and the cottage booklet was very useful. Would not hesitate to book again. Derrick (27 September 2014)
We booked this cottage because as stated in the info, it had a log burner, even though it was july, in england we still get chilly evenings. When we arrived we were informed by the owner we could only light it if it had been raining, in case the thatch caught fire! as it happened we did have a few chilly evenings but minimal rain and the only other heating was from electric storage heaters. I was informed by the owner that she put socks on and didn't wear flip-flops & summer t shirts. I was wearing sandals & vest top! everything else was fine. Lyn from Hornchurch (08 August 2014)
Would not stay again due to traffic noise Confirmed Purchaser (21 July 2014)
We had a very good time, lovely cottage, very friendly owner warm welcome. Nice garden that was a bonus for us plantlovers. Beautiful surroundings, ideal ligging from there many things you can do. Marika from Achel, Belgium (05 July 2014)
Great location, lovely countryside and easy to reach local attractions such as longleat and bath. Very nice cottage, lovely private garden. Only downside is rather busy road out front and lack of pavements for pedestrians !. Hilary from Essex (13 June 2014)
Very quiet location, the garden made the trip relaxing. A tradditional thatched cottage a nice experience. All equipment provided to meet all our needs. Tracey from Birmingham (09 June 2014)
The cottage was ideal for our two dogs, with a beautiful enclosed and spacious garden. The owner was very helpful with local directions and there was homemade cake on arrival. Very comfortable and well maintainted with everthing you could need. MRS G from Chesterfield (29 June 2011)

This is a fantastic cottage and is set in a very nice village, it was great for travelling to Longleat Park (10mins), Bath (20 Mins) and Stone Henge (20 mins). The cottage owner prepared a cake for our arrival- a very nice touch! Mr M from Morpeth (14 October 2009)
