Had a great time at ellerburn lodge - makes an ideal location for a group of friends or family. Enjoyed the pool especially Peter from Latham (15 June 2015)
The cottage was good, plenty of everything you need, the cake was great, made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. pool be aware has up & over steps not shown in picture but was very good and well maintained. Great holiday would go back again. Thanks Gillian from Dartford (16 May 2015)
Not cheap, but extensive and comfortable, and of course the indoor pool was brilliant (tip: keep the cover on between swims to keep the water really warm) Dave from Nottingham (02 May 2015)
Great lodge, beautiful surroundings. Beds very comfy, lodge very spacey, clean, loads of cutlery and crockery. Suits all ages. (our family ranged from 10 to 74) pool was fantastic at the end of a busy sightseeing day. Yummy chocolate cake made by the lovely lady from the tearoom in the nursery next door, was a lovely touch. (had to go and taste her other cakes, also very yummy! ;) loads to do in surrounding area, would recommend a ride on a steam train at pickering, the castle museum and jorvik in york. Area also has a lot of new shopping outlets and restaurants, as well as park n ride for the city. Ellerburn lodge was fantastic, close to the city yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Brilliant holiday, would definitely come again! please just put more lighting in pool area and a wee net to clean surface of pool :) thank you! x Gillian from Saltcoats (18 April 2015)
Fantastic property, we'll definitely come back Customer 5 from Newcastle (23 March 2015)
Such an amazing lodge, the pool was fantastic. Very clean! the beds were comfy and perfect size! will definitely be coming back again! Lauren from Hartlepool (09 February 2015)
The bungalow itself was beautiful and well maintained. There was a problem with the boiler but staff were there within 10 minutes to sort it out. Everyone loved the pool, there was enough fridge space and the living area was well thought out. Bathrooms were maintained well and were clean. We would definitely stay there again. Julie from Middlesbrough (10 November 2014)
Fantastic location, wonderful property, the swimming pool was of course a massive hit Amanda from Darwen (01 November 2014)
The bungalow is past its best but we had small children with us and there was no worry about harming the place. Big enough, clean and well laid out.. there were worries if there was a fire and we were in bed - there were no large windows to climb out and no fire exit. The swimming pool was clean and warm - no problems there but the whole place could do with a maintenance upgrade (one door would not lock and none of the pool sliding doors were in top shape.). . that said, the grounds were large enough for games with the children and well enough away from roads for us not to panic. . would stay again but the place needs money throwing at it! Geof from Brampton (13 September 2014)
Lovely cottage, very comfy and with a fab pool that we all enjoyed. the location is fantastic for visiting york with the cheap and efficient park and ride and a large selection of shops only a 10 minute drive away. only real downside is the very busy road you need to turn right out onto every time you want to go to york. Kirsty from St Ives (23 August 2014)
Great family holiday. Shame about being beside such a busy road. David from Jarroe (31 May 2014)
Fantastic villa, great location Simon (19 April 2014)
Lovely accommodation rural location but only 10 minutes from main shops. Ellerburn lodge was comfy and well equipped. The pool was fantastic and was used every day and night. The owner was very helpful and easily connectable. We would stay again if we came to the area. Angela from Rochester Kent (07 September 2013)
We had a wonderful break at ellerburn lodge, the pool was amazing and we had hours of fun in the pool. Ellerburn lodge was beautifully presented and very clean. The location was perfect for exploring the area and was an excellent base for returning to after a busy day exploring the beautiful city of york. Julie from Chester (31 August 2013)
One of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Jo from Grays (17 August 2013)
What an amazing property! We had a wonderful time, the pool was great for the kids and the house enabled hours of hide and seek play. The house had all of the amenities to satisy the whole group and was very clean and spacious. Close proximity to York and the National Railway Museum, a must for any rail enthusiast. Definitely hope to revisit in the summer time. Thank you for a fantastic weekend. Mrs B from Reading (21 September 2012)
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at this lodge, wonderful spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom bungalow. Great kitchen to cook in and a great 8 seater table to sit at.Lovely little conservatory to sit in an relax in the morning sunshine with a cuppa. Lovely lounge to relax in in the evening and a large tv and dvd. The pool was a real bonus, a couple of days it rained and it kept all the chilren inc. the teenagers amused (but dont forget your large towels as although there are lots provided some didnt quite go round us !)Washing machine and tumble drier were really handy Only 7 mins from Monks cross shopping centre, lots of good shops and ASDA and Sainsburys too(with petrol stations). Really easy also to use the park and ride to York only 15 mins from Monks cross and only £2.50 per person rtn (60p if you have a bus pass)Clifton Moor only 15 mins away where there are more shops and a VUE cinema. The property is next door to a garden nursey, very nice and a lovely cafe, we had a fantastic full english before we set off home. I can highly recommend this property, I really didnt want to leave. Mrs F from Westcliff-On-Sea (25 August 2012)
This was a fantastic place to stay, very clean, comfortable and great for kids. The location was excellent withe asy access to York, Scarborough and lots of activities for the children especially the pool. The gardens and the property itself were of an excellent standard and i would have no hesitation in recommending this lodge for a family holiday. Miss T from Preston (09 May 2011)

Great location for all local attractions. Great property. Pool was fun. Mrs. M from Derby (11 September 2009)
The pool was a big plus for all of us as the weather was ok but not warm enough for the beach. Location was great for the park and ride into York and food/ other shopping as I had researched these on the internet before we went. Mrs H from Orpington (23 August 2009)
Ellerburn Lodge is a lovely property in an ideal location, not too far from the main attractions of York. There are wonderful gardens outside with a barbeque and seating area, and inside the property all rooms are bright and spacious. We found the lodge extremely baby friendly for our one year old, with no dangerous stairs or objects around. Mr K from Inverness (12 July 2009)
A clean, bright, spacious and well equipped bungalow with the added bonus of an indoor pool which the chidren loved. A lovely place to stay and just around the corner is the wonderful city of York. Mrs L from Haverhill (06 June 2009)
