Family Holidays at Playa Montroig Camping Resort - Miami Platja, Costa Dorada, Spain

If you’re looking for the ultimate family holiday, Playa Montroig has just about everything.

For a start, Playa Montroig Camping Resort is nestled in subtropical gardens alongside Costa Dorada’s sandy beaches. The parc is also beautifully landscaped and is brimming with first-class facilities, like its stunning pool complex with four pools, including a lagoon-style heated pool and one with six waterslides. If you want a break from all that splashing about, there’s a fully-equipped fitness centre, crazy golf and tennis courts. Then it’s off to spend the evening at the parc’s stylish restaurants and bars, some of which don’t set up shop until the end of June. You may want to have a car if you’re planning to go out and about sightseeing. Also, don’t be surprised if you hear some road and rail noise on-parc due to its location. That is, if you’re not too busy enjoying yourself.

I was quite disappointed with certain aspects of the holiday , I have 4 children and picked the park due to the facilities. We were not informed that due to the park closing at the end of our holidays that alot of the facilities would be closed while we were there including the children entertainment. It would just have been nice to know this in advance.
Guy from Leicester (24 October 2015)

Overall, a good break at a good campsite, spoiled by the standard of accommodation.
David from Carlux, France (24 October 2015)

Having been on numerous eurocamp holidays before and this was our second visit to the park, we were really disappointed to find the accomadation and eurocamp reps tired after the season. the park was literally packing up around us which meant we weren't able to use a lot of the facilities...a real shame :(
Brett (24 October 2015)

Excellent holiday, the parc facilities were great, albeit a little quite and shut early on some occasions due to be at the end of the season.
Colin from West Kilbride (20 October 2015)

Wifi in aspects was poor. Once you've been in an aspect nothing else will be good enough
Jonny (20 October 2015)

Lovely park. on the beach and beautiful pool area.
Heather from Inverness (20 October 2015)

We visited this parc in october and found it about 20% full. Though in some ways it's nice to avoid the crowds it did feel a bit desolate. Waterslides were closed, and some advertised activities such as yoga classes and mini-discos weren't on. Also, eurocamp mobiles were being prepped for winter all around use - sun canopies being taken down, garden furniture removed etc, so it felt a bit as though we were the last ones standing! that said, we got a great price for going out of season.
Ashley (17 October 2015)

Lovely site with access to fantastic beach. We went mid october and they were starting to close things down for the season. Disappointing that the slides were closed at the pool for a couple of days and lifeguard was a bit grumpy with the kids considering the pool was quiet at time of year.
Lorraine (17 October 2015)

Park as good as ever.
Ronald from Rossendale (13 October 2015)

Can not fault the park, the accommodation and facilities were excellent. The entertainment however was at times non existent, at times totally unsuitable for children and not what was advertised.
Richard from Oliva (12 October 2015)

Quiet good, a little bit noisy (people was talking outside till neary two o'clock in the morning)
Rolf from Playa Montroig (12 October 2015)

An excellent park with good facilities. eurocamp organisation also very good - flights, transfers, etc. And hq staff very helpful. .
Judith from Chesham (10 October 2015)

An excellent holiday on an excellent parc, we will definitely return in the future.
England from Yarm (03 October 2015)

Accommodation was nice . parc was nice but swimming pools opened late and shut early , no entertainment at all , reastaurant opened in morning and we went there at 1245 for lunch and they said we couldn't have a menu till 130pm we got it at 2pm ! was quite boring will not return to this park . also not much to do nearby
Bruce from Chesham (02 October 2015)

Brilliant
Customer 15 (02 October 2015)

Facilities on site poor for our 15 year old grandson , accommodation rather worn , cutlery with hard food on and cooking pans that had seen better days ,no plugs in sink , no place mats , no cushions for outside chairs , very basic standard generally for what was not a basic cost , only saw rep day before we left , rather sullen ,only called to make sure we were gone by 10.00 next day. Would not recommend eurocamp
Malcolm from Paignton (30 September 2015)

Mobile pitches are large for spain
Lynne from Lichfield (28 September 2015)

On our first morning we went to have a shower and found that this was impossible as the shower head was limescaled up and water was just squirting sideways in one direction , my 80 yr old mother in law had the same problem in the 2nd bathroom, she then tried having a wash using the sink but couldn't as there was no plug to hold the water we found her quite distressed thinking that she couldn't wash at all, but we did solve this by getting her to was in the basin in our 1st bathroom. We went to explain this to the eurocamp and were given 1 new and 1 de scaled shower heads. 1 fitted fine but when we tried to fit the other one it wouldn't fit so I had to go back to euro amp and explain again they said they would try and get someone to come and have a look , which they did later the same day they fitted a new hose and the shower head was then fine. This could all have been avoided if this had been checked out before our arrival especially as this appears to be a well known problem on this camp site
Carole from Middlesex (27 September 2015)

We had a fantastic time and found everyone really friendly.
Jose from Valencia, Spain (27 September 2015)

Lovely site , we had a very relaxing holiday
Angela from Feltham (26 September 2015)

The couriers did not acknowledge my wife and I as they walked past our accommodation when we were sat outside on our verandah nor did any of them ask us if everything was alright with our . accomodation. A big difference from the friendly response we had from the couriers at the german and luxembourg sites in may this year.
Terence from York (22 September 2015)

It is perfect for us, wished the grill stayed open for another week, but loved it
Customer 22 (22 September 2015)

Lovely parc with good facilities.
Denis from Yateley /Uk (21 September 2015)

Fabulous lovely break away x
Customer 24 (20 September 2015)

Overall our holiday was very good but was spoiled with light bulbs out in the accomodation through out the holiday . compared to our other experience with other couriers we didnt find the couriers as good. as for the parc it was very good. .
Peter from Poole (19 September 2015)

Parc was brilliant kids loved pool and water slides and lots to do we enjoyed our holiday .the accommodation was great.and we plan to come again
Mary from Northern Ireland (18 September 2015)

A well- organised holiday on a very impressive site. Thanks to eurocamp.
Alun from Bridgnorth (18 September 2015)

Everything perfect
Andrea from Prague (12 September 2015)

This is a lovely, very well kept park with beatiful planting, the swimming area is lovely, the main pools were a little cold for my 3 year old, even the heated one was a bit too cold to hang about in, still spent a very pleasant time there. the beach was nice, there is a bar right on the beach that serves ice creams, opening times were a bit random though. we loved both restaurants on site, lovely relaxed atmosphere. we hired bikes with a pull along baby carrier which we could only really cycle along the busy main road, so I wouldn't recommend this for young children. the tapwater tastes funny so use bottled water even in the kettle. the main square was lovely place to be.i've scored low for couriers as on the first night our caravan leaked water in the living area and through the sockets in the childrens bedroom, I complained to laura who informed me that our caravan's roof wasn't designed for heavy rain, (stupid me), and that seeing as it was no longer leaking (it had stopped raining for a few hours) it wasn't really a high priority and someone might go around to make an assessment at some point that day or possibly not if they didn't get around to it as they were so busy! a quick call to eurocamp hq confirmed we'd get a new dry caravan before the end of the day. The 5 playgrounds were reasonable small but well placed.
Customer 29 from Reading (10 September 2015)

A very nice park, lots of activities and a lovely beach
Andrew from Ashford (09 September 2015)

We booked the superior accommodation..the aspect range..and the beds were awful..no better than in the cheaper accommodation which we have used before. the site was also not that good and as for whats nearby..nothing really. You definitely need a car to go much further afield to find anything. this was our 4th and probably last holiday with eurocamp,
Kevin from Burgess Hill (08 September 2015)

Had a great family holiday. Something for everyone,
Sue (06 September 2015)

Had two week family holiday, the site was fantastic it was kept clean day and night and staff helpful. . the only negative was the kids clubs were run by the site and therefore mainly spanish children which mine didn't enjoy. . but the beach was on the doorstep and the pool complex was excellent
Rachel (06 September 2015)

A really good site, with good quality facilities and direct access to a great beach. Site was exceptionally clean and well maintained. No loungers at the pool but this was a good thing - pool used for what it should be - swimming! nice shady pitches and site rules well respected. Some eurocamp vans showing signs of age but clean and comfortable nonetheless (did not spend much time in them). decking, canopy and aircon all essential features.
Rob from Stafford (05 September 2015)

Great parc with a lovely beach nearby and swimming pool onsite. nice caravans. pity we had 3 days of rain. next time we would book directly with the site as we did not feel being with eurocamp was of any benefit to our holiday experience.
Amelia (05 September 2015)

Great parc. Caravan is getting a little worn.
David from Cambridge (05 September 2015)

Superb family holiday on a budget in the school summer holidays. . the site was really well looked after with great facilities and places to eat, couldnt reccomend it enough :-)
Marcus from Telford (04 September 2015)

We had only one day of sunshine the rest was overcast, thundering and raining. We still had a really good time however as we still used the pools even in the rain. We went out for days and we all agreed it was a good holiday. Had the weather been better it would have been excellent.
Alice from Kent (04 September 2015)

This is a busy park with loads of different activities. we did alternate mornings and afternoons in the pool and the sea - lovely coastline. as it was high summer, the saving grace was the awning over the decking and also the air conditioning - it was very hot in august and we couldn't go out in the midday sun. overall a good campsite with a lot to do but a slight lack of attractions to visit off-site.
Elizabeth from Northampton (01 September 2015)

Parc is fantastic, very clean, well kept. Restaurant and shop were excellent. Large parc but due to layout didn't feel like a large park, had a lovely atmosphere. would definitely visit this park again and would be happy to recommend it to others. For us personally, we would have liked a more regular bus service to be able to explore a little more.
Joanne from Wiltshire (01 September 2015)

Overall ok
Peter from Loggerheads (31 August 2015)

Very very good eurocamp staff were fantastic
Customer 42 from Kent (31 August 2015)

Great resort, lots to do! accommodation could have been a bit more spacey. Couriers were friendly & very helpful. Had some not very polite neighbours for last couple of days but that's not the fault of eurocamp, just bad luck! would recommend.
Clare from Coventry (31 August 2015)

Only met the courier once - we were not informed that we needed to book onto the site and get the car pass and wrist bands - we only found that out when we tried to gain access to the campsite a couple of days later. the mobile had not been cleaned properly and we did not use any of the cutlery in the mobile as it was not clean. the layout of the mobile was one of the worst we have stayed in and we have stayed in them all. no were to dry/straighten your hair in the bedroom as the mirror was not near a plug etc.
Ian (30 August 2015)

Awesome site, great pools, bars, restaurants and beach. Terrible accommodation for the money, unfriendly and grumpy head representatives from eurocamp. We also didn't eat on the caravan decking because of the constant stench of sewerage. Eurocamp..never again. Would definately book direct with the campsite and book their own, far nicer accommodation for the same price. And the player montroig staff know how to smile.
Neville (30 August 2015)

Lovely site located a stones throw away from a great beach. if you like lying on a sunlounger by the pool then this isn't the place for you as no loungers allowed. You have to lay on horrible muddy grass which was a shame and spoilt the experience by the pool.
Kara from Northampton (30 August 2015)

We really enjoyed the holiday. My one request for improvement would be to re-open the fish shop. We missed not being able to buy fresh sea-food, which is a shame.
Mark (30 August 2015)

This is our first eurocamp visit in spain and we were not disappointed. Superb weather and a beautifully kept parc. As we booked late, there was no choice on the accommodation types, however, we were happy with what we had and the air con was a bonus. We were close to the pool area and yet only a short walk from the shop and the beach. The only thing that I didn't like was the road through the park that could be busy at times. Cars go slow, however, if this could be redirected or a path put alongside, it would be safer. Otherwise, we had a great holiday and would return due to the cleanliness of the parc, the facilities and the sun!
Customer 48 from High Wycombe (30 August 2015)

I loved this holiday, was apprehensive at the start but boy was I surprised!!! we usually book villas but jeez this was so much better
Sinead from Newry (30 August 2015)

Staff very lazy didn't get sun lounge furniture till 3 days before we left! the bathroom door was jammed shut when we closed it a 9pm called the staff 12 times no answer so walked to the park reception and asked the security guard to find one of them - when they eventually turned up they said sorry the 'out of hours phone is broken' we will get somebody here first thing so we had use a bucket for the toilet and couldn't brush teeth that night not ideal when you have a 2 and 4 year old with parents of 72 and 75! otherwise parc good and clean but eurocamp staff could not be bothered ! we were checked in by stuart who showed us to our accomadation and said ' I will let you settle in and come and see you tomorrow' but he never returned!!!
Anna from Uxbridge (29 August 2015)

This was our first eurocamp holiday and we weren't disappointed. The parc was clean tidy and very easy to enjoy! the booking process was the best we've ever experienced, the team at the end of the phone were very very good, offering advice, help and really patient, whoever has recruited and trained this team - take a bow, they were magnificent.
Lesley from Preston (29 August 2015)

It was a very relaxed holiday - helped by brilliant weather. The eurocamp staff were excellent, always there to help but not obtrusive. The pools were large enough for all the guests and there was enough space around them to dry off in the sun after a swim. The beach was quiet and safe, although a few pebbles. There were enough tennis courts, and there were table tennis tables and small bars throughout the park. The evening entertainment was high quality and varied, and far enough away from cabins not to be heard when we wanted a quiet evening.
Priscilla from Dunstable (29 August 2015)

The parcs entertainment team worked extremely hard providing a brilliant clubs for the kids & adult team sports, always friendly & remembered the kids names when you pasted them around the parc. Close to airport making transfers easy. Pools were fantastic! beach was good. . we stayed in an espirit, it was clean & functional, grateful for the air con. . great parc with affordable restaurants, bars, shops - the take-away was very reasonable and a great alternative to going to a restaurant.
James from North West (29 August 2015)

A lovely campsite. Shop well-stocked and very reasonably priced. Restaurants were good. Tapas average and same menu served in the bars. Lovely pool area - having no loungers really works and makes the whole pool complex feel really relaxed. Pool great. Super efficient lifeguards. Went in height of summer so it was busy but never felt totally 'sardine-like'. might have been aided by the fact that the beach is so close so people may have divided their time between the pool and the beach. Beach was sandy and the water lovely. A nice restaurant 'friends' down the beach (valencia side).
Claire from Worcester Park (29 August 2015)

Brilliant resort. The down point was the sea - it was full of leaves!. . loads of great facilities
Terry from Ipswich (29 August 2015)

A nice campsite with lovely vegetation. Railway was close to us but it didn't effect our stay. Main walkway to restaurant from our plot was unfinished dusty with loose stones and could be made much more pleasant if paved. Lots to do nearby
Lynn from Bradford On Avon (28 August 2015)

Lovely part of spain and close enough to barcelona to combine with a couple of days in the city which made for a wonderful holiday.
Aimee from London (Sw) (28 August 2015)

The park is fantastic, especially for families. There is everything you need in-house and the camp staff are extremely helpful. Swimming pools and slides are perfect for all ages. Sea can be a little choppy and murky and watch out for random rocks, but that is hardly their fault. Need a car if you want to get out but for our first visit there it was fine without.
Duncan from Exmouth (28 August 2015)

The parc is nice but I would recommend going when the park is quiet. How a child hasn't been killed riding a bike around the parc is beyond me. They ride there bikes in the middle of the road and will not move if they see a car coming. Shop, take away and restaurant is about a 5 min walk away from the mobile homes but if you take a motorhome or your own caravan then everything you need is right near you. Don't be fooled by the pictures of the pool. The pool area is a little small, no way as near as big as it looks with the pictures eurocamp provide on the web. Staff are fantastic, had no problems at all with them. There is a railway line that runs thru the middle of the park, don't worry kids carnet get no where near the line so its safe. The take away is cheap but I would recommend you don't buy buggers as they are raw. Salou is just 20 minute drive away if you have use of a car and if a fantastic day out, we went most days. If you are staying with eurocamp then be prepared to do your own cleaning when you are there, I spent a good 20 minutes brushing all the cob webs down in every room, the cleaning standers are vey poor. We needed help for our eurocamp courier once and he sorted what we needed there and then. Would we go back? not really sure to be honest. If the stranded of cleaning was a lot better then I wouldn't hesitate to book with eurocamp again.
Vanessa from County Durham (27 August 2015)

Lovely holiday, not too hot, good facilities.
Diane from London (23 August 2015)

Loved the park wish the pool and pool area was larger and that there were sunbeds to kay on as the grass gets pretty muddy . supermarket and bakers very good and beach very clean .
Sara from Benfleet (23 August 2015)

What an amazing site! other reviews said not much for teenagers but they obviously didn't discover the nightly disco from 10pm (above the terrassa restaurant) and the weekly beach party, not to mention the daily teen club and huge self-contained games room for teens. There was also a daily craft activity (10am and 4 pm next to the stage area), daily on mass dance in the pool at 1 pm. Entertainment (daily) at 10.30 was great and created a super atmosphere. Main restaurant on site was fantastic - beautiful, modern and spotless. Friends restaurant is on the beach to the right of the resort -literally on the beach and idyllic (have the ribs). the whole place was spotless. Entertainment staff were wonderful. Our 10 and 8 years olds loved it and would still love it if they had been much older.
Nina from Essex (22 August 2015)

The parc was fantastic and had everything we could have asked for, however the accommodation was dirty, shabby and tired. We were very disappointed and would not return to stay in one of these mobile homes again
Penny (22 August 2015)

The park was fantastic loads of things for both my daughters to do and the park reception was very good however the reps for eurocamp were not good at all ,one was very helpful but the 2 main reps could not even be bothered to show us to our accomodation and would not do anything to help us never explained anything and refused to sort out some problems we had this is a shame as have alwaysfound eurocamp to be great .lets hope if we go again that they are not there.
Amanda (20 August 2015)

We had to wait 4 hours after arriving at the parc before getting into our accommodation. apparently the cleaning company had not sent enough cleaners that day. The accommodation was lovely, but the shower was atrocious.
Diane from Whitley Bay (18 August 2015)

Beautiful setting. Lovely and relaxing time away.
Helen from Liverpool (18 August 2015)

Playa montroig is a beautiful resort. It is easy to see why people come back year after year. It is the perfect place for families with children of mixed ages
Keren from London (15 August 2015)

Fantastic park, clean, well kept, friendly staff. 2nd visit so must be good. Ignore complaints about the trains passing through..its a few times a day and hardley noticeable. As for power cuts..its spain for god sake so yes your going to get the occasional power cut. Have to admit the eurocamp staff wasnt as friendly or outgoing as last years but we didnt have anything to complain about so they were not needed.
Glenn (15 August 2015)

Accomodation was lovely, eurocamp couriers were not the ususal standard, having eurocamped for many years I have been used to a friendly greeting and often seeing them to check everything is ok with our hoiday througout, however we arrived early the first day and were advised very abruptly that check in was 3pm. We were not offered a place to leave our luggage until I had to ask. As we were early I asked if we could walk by our allocated caravan, we were directed. When we returned to check in at 3pm we were given the keys, we were not taken to our carvan, this was because we alredy knew where it was as we had a walk past it earlier, surely it is common practive to be escorted on arrival just in case there are any questions. In terms of the parc I found it extremelly quiet in comparison to la torre del sol where we have also stayed. I would of expected some form of entertainment at the beach bar for adults, the only night time entertainment is for young children at the main stage, for those with older children we would like to enjoy a more adult environment, too many very young children at the main stage area at night, not relaxing. The pool is good and the parc is clean. Great bakery on site. Supermarket well stocked and reasonably priced. On leaving we were not seen by the eurocamp couriers to check we had had a nice stay. Finaly, we did see a courier once at our caravan during our time there... a courrier approached and asked if we were leaving tomorrow, this was 4 days into a 11 night stay, I advised we were not, she said oh I must have the wrong caravan and left without an apology or asking if everything was ok with our van / holiday..i was very shocked by the level of care, lack of it, throughout from the eurocamp couriers, very dissapointing
Debra from Oldham (14 August 2015)

Overall the holiday was very good. the campsite, which we have been to before, is geared round family holidays.
Sheila from Basingstoke (14 August 2015)

Great holiday in playa montroig..exceptional site
Customer 71 from Hereford (13 August 2015)

Second time at playa montroig - fantastic site.
Andrew from Northwich (12 August 2015)

A nice few days based at the park as a base for port aventura and using the pools and on site facilities.
James (10 August 2015)

Only saw my eurocamp rep when I arrived to collect keys, did her job in terms of giving me my keys but no personal skills or showing an interest in us, our holiday plans, etc! never saw her again, or anyone else, not even stopping by to ask if all was ok!
Tracey (10 August 2015)

Very large parc and the eurocamp units are a long way from the amenities
