Good venue, nice friendly & helpful couriers. Good van (classic plus) but cold bedrooms at night.
Stanley from Stone (07 September 2015)

We had a good deal price on our static cabin which was good cos had we paid full price I would've cried myself to sleep . the " sofa " had a huge stain in the middle so we had to sit on the sides .not comfy at all , the kitchen area had no cupboard space to store groceries so we had to put ours in the spare bedroom ,the cabin was dirty on arrival with a strange smell when we entered, the courier didn't seem interested in telling us anything other than " this is your home " we had blankets to cover us on the beds !! I expected duvets tbh at this price all the wardrobes were full of chairs so where were we expected to hang clothes . on one occasion 2 couriers were cleaning a vacant static opp u.s. With their radio turned up full blast which wasn't very relaxing . I had to ask them to lower the volume .lastly the cabin itself was full of cobwebs & one bedroom ceiling light wasnt flush to the ceiling and seemed to be a mecca for spiders to disappear into ! on the whole we would never use eurocamp again .it was our first and definitely last time !!!!!
Wayne from Shropshire (07 September 2015)

Good parc but would have been nice to have a greater mix of cultures, very british dominated. Parks around carnac had a better mix. St hilaire is not beautiful but th surrounding towns are lovely. Also, cabin was not very clean when we arrived, bathroom floor came made feet/socks black but I think this was just because we came at the end of a long hard summer. Everyone was tired..!
Jaimie from Basingstoke (07 September 2015)

Overall the parc was good. Accommodation was very good. Couriers were also good. Would recommend. I think that the overall experience was ok, I think it depends what you want to get from the parc as this parc offers some positives but other parcs offer other things but overall it was a good clean parc, with friendly staff and the usual facilities and good value for money.
Andrew from Stoke On Trent (06 September 2015)

Had an enjoyable time, unexpectantly met up with friends from last year, site the same as last year, no new things, but overall a very friendly site.
Terrence from Breuil Barret (06 September 2015)

Another excellent stay at les ecureuils. The parc is lovely for children and adults. Our kids love the pool & slides and the general freedom around the parc due or it's size
Kerry from Birmingham (06 September 2015)

Had a great holiday taking our three grand-daughters to france for the first time. After the first day the weather was good but not outstanding. The parc was very good, especially the pools/slides and the play park.
Paul from Telford (05 September 2015)

Lovely park. Great location next to the beach. Pools a little chilly but will be returning next year.
Sophie from Leeds (05 September 2015)

A great place to go, entertained our 5,8,9,10 and 12 year olds.
Customer 9 from Cornwall (04 September 2015)

Brilliant
John from South Gloucestershire (03 September 2015)

Far too many homes squeezed into this small park making the pitches very small, with little or no privacy
Martin from Derby (03 September 2015)

The weather was very poor for most of the time though this is out our your control of course. The accommodation was just a bit old and grotty and this did reduce our enjoyment and led to no electricity for a few hours the first day. it is a lovely parc however, suitable for younger children.
Alison from Worthing (03 September 2015)

A lovely late season break.site beautifully kept and good position with being so close to a lovely clean beach.
Cynthia from Barnoldswick (03 September 2015)

Good holiday, lots to do in local area, good sized plot for accomodation
Kerry from Preston (02 September 2015)

We enjoyed the holiday, our first camping holiday, a lot but mostly due to the excellent facilities of the avant not the park. The baby/ told. Really pool was mostly black on the floor and really off putting. Plus the various 'slippy' parts on the pool floor were cringe inducing and dangerous ( I have a rather impressive graze and bruise on my thigh). . this hasn't put us off a eurocamp holiday as the children don't see these things and enjoyed themselves throughly. We used kids club once and they seemed to enjoy it but I think it was rather limited and lifeless at times!
Natalie (02 September 2015)

Good location with lovely beach and towns nearby. Park itself geared more for under 10s but good fun.
Lindsay (02 September 2015)

The site was ok, limited for families with older teenage children. A quite site which for us was great, friendly staff and clean and tidy facility's.
Steffan from Poole (31 August 2015)

Great parc for families with smaller children. Very clean facilities. Good location.
Hannah from Harrogate (31 August 2015)

We had a lovely holiday at this park, despite lots of rain. The couriers were helpful and we enjoyed using the pool facilities, park and indoor play area. The only negative thing was the cleanliness of the accommodation when we arrived. I was disappointed with the sand on the floors and grubby look of the shower and sinks. We had a great time though and would recommend, as long as you don't expect too much from the accommodation.
Catrin from Llanidloes (31 August 2015)

No outdoor play equipment for children over 3. Kids club poor, either cancelled, charged for it, or all ages from 3-12 combined in tiny overcrowded tent which was chaos and didn't stick to advertised activities playing silly games and songs with rude words. New avant caravans next to toilet block and road so constant people noisily passing. Nil adherence to 10pm-8am respect for other campers with cars leaving at 0700 noisily and coming in after 23.00. Nil outdoor areas for children to even play with a ball unless middle of the road.
Helen from Braintree (31 August 2015)

Another enjoyable holiday. however the 2 bed 2 bath espace we have stayed in for the last couple of years is rather shabby and definitely in need of some tlc.
Michael from Jersey (31 August 2015)

Park, huge disappointment. not as expected. . . area itself was like being up the road from benidorm. disco blaring every night until well into early hours, sleep deprived most of the time!!. . wonderful spending time with loved ones though and made the most of a bad situation. . the town of st jean de mont is lovely, great market, fish amazing and garlic to die for. . st gilles also lovely, sweet night market and fab ice creams. . won't go back to this area again.
Claire from Trowbridge (30 August 2015)

Parc was great for our children aged 4 and 7. Small and friendly. Staff who run the fun station were lovely. Parc clean and tidy. Lovely shop and restaurant on site.
Emma from Burton On Trent (30 August 2015)

Accommodation too packed together - not much privacy.
Siobhan from Horsham (30 August 2015)

Good holiday, shame the vendee coast seems spoilt by tourism
Customer 25 from Lincoln (30 August 2015)

The beach was amazing opposite the site. Site was very clean, pool lovely, but the bar wasn't great - wine was awful. The restaurant on site was good. We didn't think much of the nearest village mouettes, or st hiliare - a bit run down, although st jean de monts was lovely.
Customer 26 from Warwick (29 August 2015)

My tent was dirty and fridge had stale food from previous family stuck to it I was then told two days before my holiday by a euro camp courier my tent had to be cleaned and left the way I found it was probably cleaner
Nicola from Carlisle (29 August 2015)

We had a great holiday - perfect for little ones as the pools are great, the beach is nearby and the site appears safe
Paul from Banbury (29 August 2015)

Our stay at les ecruils was very positive. The couriers were very helpful and bought us everything we needed. the parc was well kept, the shower/toilet block was cleaned three times a day. The pool area was safe and clean but we would suggest the wooden bridge be replaced. Our tents were clean and well equipped.
Sarah from Guernsey (29 August 2015)

Fun family holiday with play park on site and good swimming pools close to beach. Majority british with very good not excellent kids club. Good quality site with lots to do nearby. Quiet
Tamsin (29 August 2015)

Great park - kids loved the swimming pool and slides, beach, tennis and games room. accommodation modern and clean. good bar that has entertainment evenings, and sports. bit disappointed that no sports court for football or basket ball, and kids (9 + 7) thought kids clubs were a bit boring.
Simon from St Hilaire De Riez (29 August 2015)

A great small park for young families. Lovely pool area and beach opposite the park. I rated the parks value for money a 3 as the holiday was expensive for 2 weeks in what is basically a plastic shed, sectioned off into areas! the eurocamp couriers were mostly invisible although that did not bother us. I would recommend this park due to its location in what is a beautiful area with heaps to do.
Nina from Bishops Waltham, (28 August 2015)

Unfortunately the holiday was a little spoiled by the weather as we had 4 completely rained off days and whenever we tried to do something during this period we were hit with barriers outside eurocamps control. The park its self was lovely. It's quite a small campsite but has all the amenities you want. The on site restaurant; amy's house was exceptional. The food was beautiful and really well presented. My boys both loved the pool which is smaller than the photos in the brochure suggest but was more than adequate. On the whole, would I go back? yes.
James from Lichfield (28 August 2015)

Our first time with eurocamp and would definitely use them again. The updated style of caravan (2 bed avant) was a much better use of space ie bigger bedrooms, and most importantly bigger bed. It was also a luxury to have a dishwasher. A really relaxing holiday.
Laura from Cambridge (28 August 2015)

Great little site, plenty of nice places around to. Visit. The onsite shop and restaurant were excellent for breakfast food and dinner. Lovey beach just across the road. The vista accommodation felt surprisingly spacious in the main living area, nice and modern and the deck made excellent use of the outside space. Pool area a hit with the kids, maybe could do with a few more chairs as people have said but wasn't too much of a problem we always managed to find a few. Kids club was well enjoyed by the kids (and adults!) they were well run even on a wet day. We travelled via brittany ferries which was also a really good experience. Thank you eurocamp! .
Jade from Oxford (28 August 2015)

Dirty caravan & bar area
James (27 August 2015)

Went with friends and stayed in avant. Lovely accomodationa nd nice to have tv, kids loved it. Friends accommodation wasn't in as nice a place tho on site. Restaurant-amy's is excellent for food.
Sunil from Aylesbury (26 August 2015)

Great holiday in aug2015. First family holiday aboard with three young children, best family holiday to date, the sun was shinning, parc was small, pool facilties were ideal for young kids 4yrs -9yrs, parc has great access to great beaches within short walking distance or take a short drive. Good water parc nearby for a great day out. Would we go again - yes.
Darryl from Oxfordshire (25 August 2015)

Fantastic holiday
Steve from Southam (25 August 2015)

We knew this was more geared towards the younger family but our boys had a blast (age 14 and 17) they enjoyed the table tennis the pool and esp all the football matches. They enjoyed the freedom of meeting new friends in the bar and the disco! kelsey and her collegues could not have done more to make up stay any better. Making sure we were ok and putting our umbrella down when a bad storm came though plus the free board games and beach kit we could borrow was a bonus. The beach was superb clean quite not crowded at all considering it was peak school holidays. Everyone in the shop and reception was very friendly and helpful, the site was quiet from 10pm to 8am as in the programme but out teens still managed some good lie ins as did we. There was no rowdiness or poor behaviour from anyone in the five days we were there, there were lots of young children happily cycling around and enjoying the sweet selection in the shop! we enjoyed our bbq everynight as we did a massive shop at the local super u on our way to the site. All in all a much needed family holiday where we could regroup but each family member could also have something they could do individually. I esp enjoyed the free books to borrow and swop. Thank you very much to all the staff and enjoy your well last night dip in the pool!! sally dominic george and james
Sally from Wokin (25 August 2015)

Our family of 4 adults and 2 young children (3 and 5) enjoyed the facilities this parc offered. The children joined in fun club, loved the pools and enjoyed freedom not possible at home. The beach was great though the walk across the dunes a bit tough for the little ones - another time we would take the car nearer. . . st jean de mont with its stunning beach and st gilles de croix, a lovely port town, are an easy drive away and the aquarium near sables d'olonne was crowded but interesting on a wet day. . . glad the sun shone most of the time!. .
Sally from Sevenoaks (25 August 2015)

A great holiday for those with young kids, ours are 3 and 5 and was just what we were after. We flew to nantes and were suprised how quickly we picked up our luggage and hire car (the advantage of a small airport, I guess). it was not much over an hour to drive to the parc and was mostly on quiet roads, like country a roads in england. . the beach is lovely, lots of sand, a short walk across the dunes from the park and wasn't really busy even in the school holidays. The sea was mostly very calm and shallow, except when the tide was right in. The kids enjoyed looking for hermit crabs and building sandcastles. There are no facilities at the beach but that was fine for us. . the parc facilities had everything we needed, we enjoyed the pools everyday, outdoor and indoor. Sun loungers were at a premium, but we never struggled to find chairs next to the pool. They are not bothered about speedos for men, plenty of swimming shorts being worn. The bar is nice enough, kids disco on sunday and main disco on wednesday. They also did bingo and a live music night. It was quite noisy in our caravan at night as we were near the disco, but this didn't stop us enjoying the evenings on the deck. The space round the caravans is very small, but they do all have a deck. There was a good playground with a couple of swings, two climbing frames, a 'sand factory' and a few other bits. The kids made some friends there and spent an hour there each day, parents were there with cups of tea in the morning and glasses of wine in the evening! we also went to amy's house for dinner and had lovely mussels and chips (and they have a reasonable kids menu). the small shop on site was good for bread and pastries in the morning. . the supermarket is walkable in about 20-30 mins but really easy in the car and loads of parking. Also, it's open seven days, which was great as we arrived on sunday. It is a decent size with a wide selection of fresh, frozen and general food and some non-food items too. There are also a few beach shops next to it if you need any bits and bobs. . eurocamps couriers were friendly, we didn't need them much. Caravan (classic 2 plus deck) was a little tired but well laid out and clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped generally (pots, pans, loads of mugs and glasses, crockery, cutlery, utensils), gas hob and oven/grill and handy to have a microwave and reasonable sized fridge freezer. we didn't ever get an ipod dock in spite of asking for one. They also only provide two pillowcases for the double bed, but four pillows. We were told to stuff two pillows into one case, but I wished i'd bought a couple with me as ended up just using one without a case. There were no duvets in the bedding sets, just sheets and blankets - a bit old school for me! beach towels were well worth hiring, decent quality and saved on the packing. . overall, a fantastic holiday spot if you want beach and pool very close by. I'd recommend for families with primary school/pre-school children.
Mandy from Manchester (24 August 2015)

Great place for families with young children. Well kept environment and extremely friendly staff.
Harry from London (24 August 2015)

Excellent holiday in a pleasant area only marred this year by the worse than average weather. Still a wonderful experience though - thank you eurocamp-
Mark from Lichfield (23 August 2015)

A very enjoyable holiday. First visit to a eurocamp parc.
Richard (23 August 2015)

Good site, and accommodation. Space a bit tight as with many coastal sites.
Customer 46 (23 August 2015)

We had to clean the whole accommodation from top to bottom as it was left in a very, very unattractive state!!
Confirmed Holidaymaker (22 August 2015)

This was a fantastic park that I would recommend to people with younger children.
Jane from Pontefract (22 August 2015)

Had a great 8 days in august. campsite small and friendly, fantastic accommodation and weather!! kids loved the waterslides and the pool, which was rather cold on the cooler days, but perfect on the hotter ones!!
Abigail from Carlisle (22 August 2015)

We had a great holiday. The parc has everything you need, fab pool complex for all ages, good entertainment for the children, friendly bar with great staff and a wonderful restaurant. . . it is the eurocamp staff that let the place.down.
Confirmed Holidaymaker from Kingston (22 August 2015)

The kids loved the holiday and didn't want to leave.
Nicola from Vendee (22 August 2015)

On checking into our accommodation it was clear that it hadn't been cleaned. Along with old cobwebs around the place and the sink area being dirty I wasn't pleased on my initial arrival. After requesting a decking gate which had been checked off as present on the check off list, none was present!(after being told 2 people had checked our arrival requirements). bringing this to the attention of the e c rep one was brought but didn't fit! this was swapped shortly, but the replacement didn't fit! . whilst talking to a e c rep the following day the ill fitting decking gate fell over while she was present, which prompted her to change it for one that fitted. No dining table was present which was also brought to the attention of our e c rep. Early afternoon one had't been supplied so I enquired about the situation and was assured one would be available for our evening meal. After inquiring a further 2 more times and watching your staff take over an hour to put the table together, i'd already moved the patio table inside to eat our meal off. Supplied was a safari tent table which is too big for a caravan and dangerous in its folded state with a 1 year old easily able to pull it over!. another table was supplied along with a decking gate that fitted. . after working all year long to pay for my holiday with yourselves I don't expect this start to my holiday. Although eurocamp staff were helpful and tried to resolve my issues at the first instance that will never change my first impression of that holiday....bad.
Christopher from Derbyshire (21 August 2015)

The beach and the closeness to it was fantastic. lots of people on cycles, which encourages us to bring ours next time. the camping ground was not too overcrowded and the playground was good.
Louise from Wallingford (20 August 2015)

Parc overall good, staff friendly, pool area can get very busy
Nick from Cardiff (20 August 2015)

We had a wonderful family holiday. Grandparents, three daughters plus their husbands and children. 17 of us altogether. I had requested that we had vans beside each other and was disappointed this was not the case but we didn't let it spoil our hols. The children aged from 14 to a 2 year old were very happy with the pool, park, freedom of riding bikes all over, and the disco twice while we were there. The adults were relaxed and happy because the kids were. The beach was beautiful and easily reached.
D A from Enfield (19 August 2015)

Was a wonderful holiday.. only grumble was there weren't many sun beds by the pool and even less with shade and also the pitches did feel a little cramped and crammed in. Despite that though the site was fabulous as were the couriers. Especially the children's couriers (in particular becs).
Laura from Birmingham (18 August 2015)

This campsite is perfect for families with young children, the swimming pool complex provides an array of pools, slides and a lazy river. We feel that we were let down by the accommodation which was in a rather elderly mobile home, which felt damp and was not very clean.
Gill from Les Biards (18 August 2015)

What a lovely park! great amenities for kids and adults! beautiful beach very close by, staff and locals very friendly, accommodating and helpful. . would defiantly recommend and would go again!
Victoria from Northants (17 August 2015)

We are a family of four, kids aged 9 and 7 and we all just loved the amount there was to do in the area, went out every day but one. The parc was great and the swimming pool area was spot on. Just needed a little more heat in the big pool for our youngest. Third time with euro camp all in different places and will use again. Cheers
Carley from Bournemouth (17 August 2015)

Great location close to the beach, good facilities on site
Jonathan from Sutton Coldfield (15 August 2015)

Dirty accommodation, very dense. Kids loved the pool, but apart from that...poor value for money
Gregg (15 August 2015)

Very well located for the beach, children's activities at odd times of the day.
Reviewer (14 August 2015)

Accommodation did not have correct equipment, we had to keep asking for more. We booked towel pack but only half was supplied, were told they had run out, no alternatives were offered, appalling service.
David (14 August 2015)

Clean showers but grudge having to provide own toilet paper and soap with cost of holiday already!. poor entertainment in evening for younger children, but overall fine. Lovely beach close by. A bit touristy for our own personal liking
Cheryl from Oxfordshire (14 August 2015)

This holiday park was fantastic .. great location and spotlessly clean .. everyone very helpful and friendly . pool area fantastic and water temperature good ! the weather fortunately was hot most days with sunshine . beach adjacent to the parc and beautiful . we are a family of 5 with children being aged between 14 and 6 and it was fine with quad biking and lots of other attractions nearby .. will be returning to this park
Lynsey from Chester (14 August 2015)

Fantastic beaches and good clean accommodation. The pool is too small for the number of people at the park and there were lots of arguments over sunbeds/chairs at the poolside. The policy of low noise after 2230 was largely adhered to but not policed by the park staff.
Adam from Worcester (14 August 2015)

Great venue for the little kids. Lots to see and do in the immediate area. Park pool was a real hit with my two young children
Mike from Norwich (13 August 2015)

The site is perfect for young families with the added bonus of a very safe beach a very short walk away.
Alison from Milton Keynes (12 August 2015)

Liked the small size of park. Pools were clean. Opening hours of shop on site was v handy.
Lisa from Hereford (11 August 2015)

We had a great time at the parc. Very peaceful and felt very safe. The children had a fantastic time
John (11 August 2015)

We had a really good holiday here - our kids loved the pool and play park, and we all had a good time with the neighbours, which is what eurocamping is about when you've got a young family! accommodation on arrival could have been cleaner but didn't detract from our holiday experience. Did feel expensive for what you get, but that's a problem everywhere during school summer holidays.
Graham (10 August 2015)

Had picked this location based on the write up and pictures shown of the site. Don't be fooled, the beach is 300 meters away over the sand dunes but there are no facilities there. Drive 5 minutes up the road to st jean du monts for a better beach with facilities and restaurants and it less touristy as well.
Dale from Northampton (08 August 2015)

Not such a good site for teenagers but would of been excellent when they were younger.
Customer 73 from Henley In Arden (01 August 2015)

The camp was far to cramped and crowded with cars taking up the pathways making walking and riding bikes dangerous. We could physicaly touch 4 other vans from our own accomodation and had to keep curtains closed at all time for privacy. There was no privacy. Seating by the pool was limited and cramped with many families saving multiple sunbeds.
Lynn from Marlow (29 July 2015)

Lovely relaxing family holiday in the vendee. easy cycle ride to st hillaire or st jean towns. very close to fabulous long sandy beach. Weather was disappointing for july, cloudy and not very hot.
Gillian from Gloucester (25 July 2015)

A loveley out of season holiday, good value for money, weather superb
Darrell from Nuneaton Warwickshire (07 September 2014)

This was our first family holiday in france and our first stay with eurocamps. We were very impressed with the location, such a wonderful beach right on your doorstep! there is plenty for children of a wide age range to do and many amenities just a short car ride away. We particularly like the a market in st hiliare-de-riez on tuesday mornings. This holiday offered us fantastic value for money for our family of five. The couriers were efficient and rectified a couple of minor problems with our accommodation without delay. We will definitely be using eurocamps next year and would consider staying at les ecureuils again, howver we may opt to get the ferry to st malone next time as the journey from calais is approx 6.5 hours.
Emma from Worthing (06 September 2014)

Although the parc itself was fine, the swimming pools were not heated and therefore the water was quite cold and we did not use it for 2 of the days due to the coldness. the restaurant was very disappointing, they only served take away meals really, no good for a nice meal out, the shop was not very good either, but luckily the site next door had a very good shop. la yole was far better, and would go there again, but not this one.
Terrence from Breuil Barret (06 September 2014)

Our holiday was quite simply the best that we have had as a family. The parc is family run and in my view perfect for a holiday with small children. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant most nights and the good was fantastic, and the chef went out of his way to cater for my gluten allergy. The beach is beautiful and literally just across the road. Couldn't recommend highly enough,
Natalie from Nottingham (05 September 2014)

We had a superb holiday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves we have been going back to this park for 11 years and it is always great standard. The owners always make us feel very welcome and are very friendly.
Sam from Devon (05 September 2014)

Great place for a family holiday.
Mw from London (04 September 2014)

We had three week in france ,the best three days we had was at eurocamp, its the first time at a eurocamp so only did three days to try it,we will be booking for longer next time, excellent holiday experience, thanks ,
Lee from Darwen (04 September 2014)

We had a great holiday in les ecureuils with our young family. Would recommend this park for anyone with young children especially. The park is less than 5 minutes from a lovely sandy beach. The site is very well maintained and is very clean.
Phil from Norwich (02 September 2014)

We had a lovely had at this campsite. Everything was as we expected ie we were expecting a well maintained, quiet parc with minimal evening entertainment. . the pool was great although cold on cloudy days (hardly the fault of the campsite!). the onsite shop has everything you need and the takeaway was excellent the night we arrived. Larger supermarkets in only short distance away. . parc has excellent location with being only a short distance to the beach - which is beautiful, sandy and big. It as never crowded when we went with plenty of space for cricket etc. . all staff were extremely helpful and polite and tolerant of my patchy pathetic french! . went to atlantic toboggan water park which was good and parc des dunes which was an excellent family day out ( water slides, pedaloes, bikes, trampolines, inflatables, luge, ball pit, mini golf etc etc all for e10 per person). . the weather was the only thing that let us down but this is beyond everyone's control! we would love to return next year.
Kerry from Birmingham (01 September 2014)

Was a good holiday in general weather was rubbish for the first couple of days then was good for the last four days the entertainer was not as good as I thought especially for the older ones also they had a couple of night there was nothing on becouse it was coming to the end of season which I thought was wrong not a bad holiday though i'm general
Leanne (01 September 2014)

The camp is quite a lot smaller tun others we have stayed at, this however wasn't a negative as the kids were allowed more freedom without worrying where they were all the time. . the couriers couldn't do enough to help and as soon as anything was mentioned it was actioned. The bar is probably the nay downer on the camp, it's just too small when there is any sort of volume of people. We went at the end of the season and it was still too small, as soon as it rained and the small area adjacent to the pool couldn't be used it was shoulder to shoulder, a minor point but one worth pointing out.
Mark (01 September 2014)

We had a great 2 week holiday in august 2014. The weather wasn't as hot as we'd hoped but the temperatures usually in the low 20s actually suited our 3 and 5 year old pretty well. We were in the eurocamp tent situated close to all the facilities which was handy. The pool complex was great and our kids absolutely loved it especially the slides and lazy river but it took us adults a few days to get used to the chilly water temperature! the wash blocks on site were brilliant, I think the cleanest I have ever seen and they were cleaned at very regular intervals throughout the day. Great access to the beach, a 10 min walk mostly across the sand dunes and the beach was absolutely perfect with lots of golden sand perfect for sandcastles and great waves for jumping in and bodyboarding. We also spent a few afternoons rock pooling at the beach at sion (a 5-10 min drive south) which the kids loved. Amy's house restaurant was delicious, definitely the best local restaurant and we enjoyed great pizza a few times at les bousquets, a campsite a few minutes down the road. We also enjoyed tasting and buying very reasonably priced local wine at the cave just behind the market square at les marines. that all said the feel of the immediate local area didn't particularly appeal to us as there are so many campsites crammed in close together and a massive amount of british tourists that on the site and nearby it often didn't feel like we were in france. It is not a holiday for you if you are hoping to soak up lots of french culture!
Jane (31 August 2014)

Fabulous parc, loved the safari tent.. i'll be booking one of those again!
Vicky from Stockport (30 August 2014)

Fantastic campsite. Very clean toilet/shower blocks which were cleaned at least twice a day. We like the fact the site is small so our children have more freedom to cycle, scoot and play more independently. The childrens park is lovely. Pool is the highlight - slides kept everyone entertained. Kids club was very well organised and enjoyable. the beach is a very short walk even young children can cope with the distance. Shops and entertainment in walking distance too.
Laura from Huddersfield (30 August 2014)

Overall an enjoyable holiday, love the country, the area and the campsite itself was well kept and perfect for a young family in many ways. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, the wagon we hired was a godsend, and and easy drive to other resorts. . only downside was the location of our pitch right opposite the bar which for many would be fine, however with young kids it was difficult to get them to sleep when the noise was still very loud at 10.30pm. For trips out we recommend st jean de monts beach and the feeling forest.
Claire from Northampton (30 August 2014)

Our first time with eurocamp and we'll definitely be booking again! value for money was excellent. The parc was lovely. It was quite small but that was great for our young daughters. The pool area was fab and kept our kids well entertained. There was plenty of evening entertainment and the gorgeous beach across the road meant there was always plenty to do!
Dawn from Derby (30 August 2014)

Clean park and facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the beach, however great swimming pool. Great italian coffee in the bar and good selection of ice creams for the kids. Amy's shop and restaurant very organised and friendly people. Overall fab holiday and will be booking for 2015.
Hannah from Harrogate (30 August 2014)

Holidayed in august-2014 with 2 adults and 2 kids (10 & 7). excellent campsite and location (beach just across the road from the site) - very friendly and helpful site owners. Small site which was nice. Sufficient facilities, perhaps could have benefited from slightly larger pool complex / more sun-loungers as they were typically all taken within 10 mins of the pool opening in the morning. . tennis court, kids play area and pool complex (one main pool, 2 slides and small lazy river) kept the kids occupied. Supermarkets in walking and driving distance. Definitely recommend!!
James from Brentwood (30 August 2014)

Our accommodation was opposite a concrete wall, which was ugly and not very nice to relax with. Everytime we used the loo it broke and needed to be fixed by everytime it was used.
John (29 August 2014)

Our 4th time at this site, but the first where we've had to travel in peak school summer holiday. We love the location so close to a safe, gently sloping sandy beach. The site is not too big so our daughter can go to the play area by herself, she enjoys making friends at the fun station and the play area, and the bread and croissants from the shop are the best ever. . the site had a noticeably more lively feel than in june, with lots of kids on bikes - what you'd expect for a family friendly site. There were a few niggles this time, perhaps we're getting jaded and it's time to try elsewhere, but.. the atmosphere was spoiled on occasions by quite a lot of noise at night, and rowdy teenagers dominating the indoor pool. The pool temperature really needs looking at; it's supposed to be solar heated, but obviously more panels are needed. The weather was too cold to use the outdoor pool for our small children (5 and 8 months), but we'd hoped the indoor one would be warmer than it was; we only took the baby once. Our accommodation had the worst mattress on the double bed we've ever had, very uncomfortable. We just felt that for the price we'd paid this time, we were disappointed with the value for money - but the site still remains the one that fits our needs best at the moment, until we outgrow sandy beach holidays.
Rachel from Burnley (29 August 2014)

We returned to the parc for a second year. good parc, well located with ideal facilities for our needs with a 4 and 6 year old.
Victoria (29 August 2014)

Chalet was cramped for a family of 4, our fault for late booking. We will not book that size again. Nice parc, nice pool, great beach and cycle route access.
Sally from Harrogate (29 August 2014)

We booked with eurocamp for the second time after a fantastic holiday last year with eurocamp but we were disappointed with this site and location. Firstly the location, although well situated for the beach is in a pretty grotty, tacky area with brash fair rides and karaoke bars in the immediate area. If you are after a french experience then this site is more benidorm (but not as amusing!). secondly, the camp site although clean and well maintained was not what I would term ideal for young families as it is advertised. It was noisy, quite often until 12am. The noise came from the bar, nearby entertainment off site and others shouting around the campsite 'after hours'. the toilet block was clean but there are no toilet seats on the toilets and no toilet paper provided in the toilets, both of these were a nuisance when taking young children to the toilet. Plus the urinals were really visible, not really too much of an issue but worth mentioning if you take issue with washing your hands next to a group of men using the urinals next to you. The pitch site was again well maintained but situated very close to the neighbouring tent. . in the last park we stayed at, (which was of a similar size) there was some simple children entertainment early evening with a film showing and a children's entertainer. Here there was nothing apart from one disco for the whole duration of our 11 day stay. . the pool was extremely overcrowded with people queing up for their sunbed pitch before the pool opens its doors in the morning. . on the plus side, the eurocamp couriers were excellent, accommodating and helpful. And away from the park, if you drive about 5 minutes away, you can find some lovely, french authentic places. We had lots of fun away from the park, but our time on the park sadly was not an enjoyable one and we not what we expected from eurocamp.
Elizabeth from Bishops Castle (28 August 2014)

Swimming pool excellent. well run by friendly people.
Eva (28 August 2014)

We had a lovely holiday, the park was clean and staff always very helpful. Only downside was the pool was freezing, though that didn't stop the kids. We would have like a little more room around our mobile home as the section we stayed in they all seemed on top of one another. Overall though we would go again to this park as we had a lovely relaxing holiday and the kids loved the waterslides.
Wendy from Sandhurst (27 August 2014)

Another great holiday with eurocamp thank you. Site smaller than last years, but very comfortable with clean facilities. Children all kept very happy with kids clubs, pools and good to have beach so close. Only downside was the noise from other sites and the visiting circus/fairground that went on till quite late at night. All had a great time though. Will be booking next years eurocamp holiday soon.
David from Bedford (27 August 2014)

We had a super holiday at les ecureils and would not hesitate to recommend it, particularly to families with younger children. The pool area is lovely but inevitably gets crowded in high season.
Rachel from Rugby (26 August 2014)

We had a great holiday. The campsite was lovely, clean and tidy and very quiet. We weren't over looked by any other mobile homes and our accommodation was very clean and in good condition. It was wonderful that the beach was so close and we loved the pool and the water slides. We are planning to go back next year. The only slight disappointment was that the weather wasn't great but I think we were just a little bit unlucky!
Thea (26 August 2014)

Great holiday. Lovely location, beach was fab. Lots to do in and around the area.
Anthony from Westcliff On Sea (26 August 2014)

Great family holiday park clean and well maintained kids loved the pool and kids club
Emma from Chester (26 August 2014)

A great relaxing holiday in lovely surroundings and really close to the beach! our children thoroughly enjoyed all the parc activities (especially the youngest) which meant a couple of hours of peace and quiet! the parc has a play area, tennis courts and indoor and outdoor pools with waster slides. Parc felt safe so children can walk to and from play area on their own. I would recommend les ecureils to families with children of all ages who like to stay on parc or like to venture further afield.
Vicki from Leeds (26 August 2014)

Fabulous area of vendee near the beach. Park was basic and clean.
Alun from Llanelli, Wales (25 August 2014)

Loved it all ! couriers were on hand for any problems. Friendly atmosphere. Ideal for families. The grandchildren had a fantastic time and we will most definitely repeat the experience. eurocamp organisation was brilliant.
Elizabeth from London (25 August 2014)

We had a lovely holiday but we were very disappointed with the area that we were staying in, it was very commercial and geared up for tourist. We prefer a more french experience. There was heavy traffic and the campsites around us were very noisy.
Katie (25 August 2014)

We enjoyed our holiday but we were disappointed with the park. Our pitch was very small, and had very little sun. The park was noisy, they say to be quiet after 10.30 but the bar is open until midnight and can be heard along with the bars from other sites nearby. There didn't appear to be any night time security. On previous sites there would have been someone ensuring that residents kept the noise down but this did not happen. we paid for a large higher spec caravan but they still aren't immaculately clean and we had to ask for a few things that we're missing. There were loads of reps but apart from one, called lucy who was always smiling the rest seemed bored.
Linda from Cardiff (24 August 2014)

We had a great holiday in les ecureuils. we had not been to a campsite before, having spent the last three summers in a gite in brittany, so it was quite different. . . the site was a good size; not too big and not too small. we did feel that our mobile home was squashed in, we couldn't really fit our car in with it and we were surrounded very closely by neighbours. I think that wasn't the case throughout, as many mobile homes had a fair amount more space. . . the location was nice but we now know we prefer somewhere a little more isolated - this site is in an area where there are many others. . the eurocamp couriers were excellent, there wasn't one thing we could fault about them.
Kathryn from London (23 August 2014)

Too cramped between neighbours.
Clare from Rugby (23 August 2014)

Really family friendly, small park aimed at young children. Ours made tons of friends, weather wasn't great so the indoor pool was fab but unfortunately rather cold so we all came home with chest infections. Park is beautifully kept and a gorgeous sandy beach is just a 5 minute stroll over the sand dunes. Well worth a visit but beware of the local parks' nightly entertainment which went on until at least midnight every night. Take earplugs!
Laura from Bourne End (23 August 2014)

Cramped & noisy site, but good location directly over the road from the beach. Pool was good but way too cold.
Customer 114 (23 August 2014)

Ideal site for younger children and very close proximity to beach. generally pleased with eurocamp. our first mobile home was not as we ordered on the internet - one room was far too small. after two complaints we moved home, to our satisfaction. All couriers were very friendly and ostensibly helpful and, with the exception of one, were highly efficient. Children's club excellent for our 5-year-old grand-daughter.
Susan from Newbury (23 August 2014)

An excellent parc with friendly and helpful staff.
Ken from Bury, Lancs (23 August 2014)

Great facilities, really enjoyed the pools especially the slides! some noise from adjacent parks
Stuart from Wakefield (21 August 2014)

Loved the location but we had a classic mobile home and it was a bit too basic and the bathroom was not clean when we arrived. I think we would have felt differently with a better standard of accommodation. Basic updates need to be given to the classics.
Hannah from London (20 August 2014)

This was our third visit to this site and unfortunately this time we were let down by the weather. for the two weeks we were there we had 2-3 days where it didn't rain and the temperature hovered around 20c. . unfortunately the poor weather highlighted the weaknesses in the location and site, namely the pool was extremely cold and the accommodation was also quite tired. in addition the area, which in previous years had been very lively with lots going on, was like a ghost town.
Rob from Bristol (15 August 2014)

My wife and two children (10, 7) visited les ecureuils, st hilaire-de-riez early august for 10 days. overall, it was a fun, yet relaxing holiday at a well-organised parc with good pools, facilities and a short walk to a stunning white sandy beach that stretched for miles. . we flew to nantes and a taxi transfer to the site. In hindsight, hiring a car or driving our own via ferry/tunnel would have been practical as we had to hire one during the trip. . while the site was very busy (no site stayed empty longer than a morning) we still were able to move around easily. On arrival we were greeted by the first of many helpful couriers (lauren) who escorted us to our mobile. The 2 bedroom mobile home we booked was perfectly suited for our family. Showers, kitchen, beds were tidy and cleaned. Being full self-catered, we arranged a welcome pack (important) and basic towels/linen. The bbq was simple but effective .we swiftly stowed our gear then went to the pools. . the bar, mini-mart and restaurant on-site had a good selection of most food or drink. The mini-mart in particular sold a great range of pizzas. Nearest supermarket was a 15min walk away which was fine until realising we had to carry the bags back. There are no plastic carrier bags, bring your own holdalls etc. . mid way through the trip we wanted to visit puy du fou (medieval open-air shows - amazing) but needed to hire a car. The team leader (amy) and site manager (astin) were really supportive and helped us hire a car from a town nearby. . it can be slightly noisy as you would expect at an open campsite but the volume isn't disruptive and generally just the sounds of families having fun by the pool or the bar. . in summary, the parc is good value for money, clean, organised, safe, close to beach, resort towns, supermarket the amazing puy du fou and assisted by the very friendly couriers. . we'd like to send special thanks to astin, both amys and lauren who really made our holiday a great experience.
Vincent from London (11 August 2014)

Campsite was smaller than expected and the pool small with not enough sunbeds. However we went in sept so it wasn't too busy. Staff very helpful and friendly. also variety of places to eat due to location was limited. . overall enjoyed our week here.
Gaynor from Portsmouth (14 September 2013)

We have had lots of holidays with keycamp - the reasons we keep returning are always the same, value for money, excellent sites and facilities and good accommodation.
Peter from Torpoint (11 September 2013)

The reps thought they could play loud music from various tents as they 'demo'd' them and one rep stated when I asked her to turn the music down that 'it's our time one, what is her problem' thereafter no one asked us if everything was ok and frosty looks were thrown our way. Not what I would expect as a regular customer. Very disappointed.
Customer 123 (09 September 2013)

A great week in real rustic france staying at a well run little camp site in a great location.
James from Rochester (09 September 2013)

Helpful staff very quiet and small site.
Heather from Fareham (09 September 2013)

Excellent camp, clean friendly staff, pools were amazing very clean ,plenty of sun beds ,loved the big yellow and orange flowers that were growing around the camp do you know what they are called.?. have already recommended this camp to friends.
Bryan from Redditch (08 September 2013)

Wonderful child friendly parc & fabulous beach over the road
Johanna from Leeds (08 September 2013)

My family and I arrived at our camp at low season, however we found the facilities in our park perfectly suited to our needs. It was our first time doing such a holiday and will definately do it again. Loved it.
Yvonne (06 September 2013)

Very clean and friendly park, a great pool area for the kids. Plots are fairly private and very quiet at night!
Steven from Lingfield (04 September 2013)

Great parc, especially for the under teens. Great location with lots to do locally. Recommend st jean de mont for beach and great bicycle ride along the seafront. If you can manage it puy duu fou is amazing. Well worth a visit but get there early if you really want to see all the main 5 shows. Overall great eurocamp experience and would highly recommend to anyone
Angela from Tunbridge Wells (03 September 2013)

Overall the holiday was greatly enjoyed by all. The details, maps and help from the initial booking were all spot on. It left nothing to chance.
Marion from Watford (03 September 2013)

Great friendly and relaxed park. Lovely area and lovely weather.
Tracey from Folkestone (03 September 2013)

Nice camp, good pool and slides, lazy river, etc, plenty to do nearby for the kids (water park, circus, mini golf, quads, etc). lovely beach close to site
Martin from Exeter (02 September 2013)

Great holiday. Lovely parc. Lovely staff. Perfect for families.
Matthew (02 September 2013)

Nice, small friendly site. We stayed at this site in the last week of august 2013. It was booked last minute so our choice of accommodation was limited. Initially we thought that the two bed mobile was a little pokey for us and three kids aged 5, 11 and 13. . however, the weather was lovely and we made full use of the decking area. Enjoying bbq's, playing board games and, once the kids where in bed, having a few glasses of wine. The campsite staff all spoke english and were helpful. . the pool area was clean but could get busy. It never felt overcrowded though. There's a couple of slides and a lazy river as well as a standard pool. . the onsite entertainment was not everynight and was not overly special. We were treated to a quiz night and a disco during our stay both wrapped up by 10.30pm, which was in keeping with this site. If your looking for entertainment there are other noisier sites nearby which can be heard. Some p.a. Systems were noisy but finished by midnight. . the beach is lovely but can get a little windy and it's only across the road and over some dunes. We spent one night watching the sunset with a glass of red. . there is an on-site shop which is pricey and a little restaurant where we ate a good meal one evening. This our 4th visit to the vendee and we'll come again next year.
Richard from Maidstone (02 September 2013)

Really great holiday! but the takeaway on the site is disgusting. Really, they could not even get a croque-monsieur and saussage and chips right.
Leigh (02 September 2013)

Really fantastic holiday. the site was absolutely fantastic, just the right size, locality etc., and the facilities in the pool complex were brilliant. only very slight negative was the pricing in the restaurant which we thought just a tad expensive but then again the whole 'eating out' thing in france has gone up considerably.
Richard from Oxfordshire (01 September 2013)

We had a really amazing time, the couriers were really knowledgeable about the area and things to do, the parc was fantastic, it had everything the kids could want and we didn't want to come home! definitely recommend eurocamp and this site.
Cheryl from Stevenage (01 September 2013)

Overall we were slightly disappointed with the holiday. The kids loved it but we found it a bit too crowded and 'british'. there was not much room between the tents and the beds were very uncomfortable. The facilities seemed on the small size considering the amount of pitches and mobile homes the site had. The neighbouring campsite was very noisy with loud music going on until the early hours. On the plus side, the toilet, shower and dish washing facilities were spotless and of a high standard. The proximity to the beach was great. The freedom for the kids was brilliant and the site did feel safe.
Alison from Guildford (01 September 2013)

The site was lovely and small, perfect for young children. The site was clean and the available facilities such as bakery, takeaway and bar area were just enough for what you needed on the holiday. It was great that the site put on events each night.
Jenny from Manchester (01 September 2013)

Brilliant family orientated parc. been to others but this one wins hands down. the family that own the site are excellent and very friendly. Recommend for all age children. convenient location near beach towns and shops and water parks. only downside this year was freezer not working in fridge and no welcome gifts! !! after going for 10 years you'd think they'd make sure we got something. ..also rep came twice to ask what time we were leaving the next day when we had over aweek left. rep's didn't instil us with confidence!!! but great holiday x.
Sammy (01 September 2013)

We really enjoyed our holiday at les ecureuils. This is a quiet, family park with a decent swimming pool. The beach is easy to walk to and what a beach - 12 kilometres of lovely gently sloping sands! all staff on the park were friendly (more so if you try your french) and made us feel welcome. The park is very clean and safe for any little ones. I would recommend this park if you want a quiet family holiday.
Nick (01 September 2013)

Fantastic holiday - the weather made it!
Julie from Bradford (31 August 2013)

Nice site, good location friendly staff.
Karen from Preston (31 August 2013)

We had a brilliant holiday, the perfect balance of things to do and relaxation. The kids were happy, so we were happy too!
Sarah from Milton Keynes (31 August 2013)

Eurocamp and les ecuriels did everything it said on the tin, but the weather probably helped.
Ian from Isle Of Man (31 August 2013)

Fantastic campsite for families with young children.
Clare from Reading (31 August 2013)

We all had a great family holiday thanks to the beautiful beach and coastline, the range of activities in the area, the small, friendly and well cared for parc and the nice neighbours!
Andy from Welwyn Garden City (31 August 2013)

Very relaxing. we spent time by the pool, on the beach, rock pools, crabbing in the harbour and shopping. Great for kids.
Penny from Ashbourne (31 August 2013)

We loved the surrounding area (st jean de mont etc.) however where les ecureuils was situated seemed a bit like the blackpool of the vendee. there were lots of burger bars, kebab shops and english style pubs as well as children's activity parcs and funfairs. It seemed as though this was isolated to the "les mouette" area that the campsite was situation just outside of. that said, the beach across the road from the campsite was gorgeous and very unspolit and the surrounding area was great - we had a fantastic holiday.
Charlotte from Cambridge (31 August 2013)
