La bastide is a lovely little campsite, perfect for families. We loved the safe riverside beach, the pool and the peaceful laid back atmosphere at the site. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday in an area where there is plenty to do whether you want to sit by the pool and relax or to have a more active holiday kayaking, cycling or walking. We did a bit of both and the children said it was the best holiday ever! wonderful !
Sue (31 August 2015)

This was the first week of a 2 week holiday. Had a fabulous time in the ardeche. River great, caves. Would recommend barjac on market day.
Lisa from Stafford (29 August 2015)

Great campsite, really clean, great toilet and shower facilities. Fantastic access to river. Well stocked shop and staff very pleasant. Great couriers helpful without bring intrusive.
Eloise from Carlisle (27 August 2015)

Excellent welcome and facilities
Carl from Shere (25 August 2015)

Excellent resort, wonderful river amazing weather.
David from Cambridge (23 August 2015)

Lovely location on the river. Very dutch, which was fine but we didn't have much opportunity to practise our french! not too much open space/grass but river area beautiful. Very helpful eurocamp couriers.
Mrs Sullivan (20 August 2015)

Good location, friendly staff and good accommodation. The parc itself was a bit dusty and some of the equipment was not very new but the river was a nice place to be and the organised sport was fun and appreciated by my teenage son.
Carolyn from Huntingdon (05 August 2015)

The campsite is in a great location and is very nice. However it is far to overcrowded and some of the pitches are exceptionally small. the swimming pool is far to overcrowded to the point of being dangerous - large teenagers playing ball games crashing into people and on attendant who seemed more interested in topping up their tans than policing the pool!
Lisa from Milton Keynes (31 July 2015)

The camp is run by a dutch compnay and is everyone is dutch . althugh they could speak english anf were very nice and helpfull , the camp is run for the dutch and aimed atfamilies with young children . it was noisy and the bar and restaurant were domnated by children . as this was not a campsite that had eurocamp childrens facilities I had nor thought it would be such a busy site .
Sue from Town (23 July 2015)

Well shaded camp site on the banks of the river. Dutch focus on pre packed food is disappointing in france
Alan from Caterham (21 July 2015)

This was a brilliant campsite for a family holiday. very clean and right on the ardeche rivers. staff very friendly and helpful booking canoe excursions for us with free transport and finish back at the campsite which was very nice. shop had lovely fresh bread and good supremache near by and nice town "ruom". campsite mostly dutch but very happy with this as very family orientated and no noise after about 10.30pm. canoe trips were perfect for our twins aged 8 and 11 year old son. there were great animators on site and have all learned some new songs!.
Sam from Halifax (18 July 2015)

Couriers where to young tent was not cleaned properly kitchen bits where missing i.e. Kettle ice box, cooker back plate was loose all in all disappointing .
Colin from Croydon (29 June 2015)

Excellent site, good location, nice accommodation
Gerald from York (28 June 2015)

Holiday parc clean and tidy. pleasant surroundings. restaurant not bad and parc staff friendly.
Susan from Daventry (27 June 2015)

Great holiday, but very dutch orientated, (we didn't realise rcn was a dutch provider) so all parc food and eateries were very dutch, not french - the reason we love france! compared to other sites we have stayed at, we found this one was very 'squashed' as I the proximity of the static and tent pitches. We could hear next door despite being in a static, thus the noise was a little more than we're accustomed to with eurocamp. That aside the area was out of this world, we loved la beaume, and the euro camp couriers were more than helpful.
Lloyd from Rayleigh, Essex (26 June 2015)

The site was clean. the mobile was elderly whilst clean was tired have stayed in much better with you. The site was dutch owned and there was only 6 english including the couriers. the site was cramped with small caravans parked behind the mobiles close and crowded. this is not a site I would recommend if I wanted to go to holland we would have done. the couriers were very good helpful and friendly.
Sheila from Letchworth (26 June 2015)

Very friendly site in a lovely setting. Good for families and older couples. Couriers excellent and always helpful - even when off duty.
William from Shaw (25 June 2015)

We felt that the eurocamp esprit caravans were very close together in comparision to the sites own caravans and could have had a little more room around them. .
Bernadette from Southampton (24 June 2015)

Fantastic camp site in a beautiful area. Recommended.
Gary from Oxted (22 June 2015)

Great park with access to the river. Loved the area and the weather was great.
Customer 20 (20 June 2015)

We enjoyed seeing an area we did not know.
Christine from Melksham (16 June 2015)

A great riverside park with lots of walking opportunities in the area. Lovely, hospitable couriers who were very helpful. Great campsite reception staff.
Laurie from Bolton (08 June 2015)

Overall really happy with our holiday, the parc was clean and well kept, the only downside was the barbecue that was part of the package was not available through eurocamp however the parc owners were kind enough to loan us a barbecue for the duration
Maureen from Bristol (06 June 2015)

Excellent parc, amazing facilities, excellent pool, lovely weather, planning on returning next year. excellent family holiday, wish we had booked for longer
Ruth from Kent (03 June 2015)

Excellent holiday, lovely clean park. Only let down was that the pool was too cold to go in.
Andrew (31 May 2015)

We had a great fortnight here in aug 2014. Fabulous setting on river beach, great pitches and surrounded by other lovely friendly campers. Canoeing at the pont d'arc was spectacular and beautiful. However I would also recommend buying a big dingy to do lots of your own sailing up and down the ardeche. . the only dissapointment was that the pool is not adequate for number of people on the site. Also not enough sun loungers. Was a let down as everytime we went there was nowhere to sit. Also all the staff apart from one girl were very unfriendly and were clearly desperate for the season to be
Katherine from Newcastle , Tyne And Wear (04 September 2014)

Wonderful location especially for families who like to canoe
Lynda from Alfreton (31 August 2014)

Our children, aged 7 and 3, both cried when we had to leave this campsite to return home. I think that probably says it all really. The site was simply fabulous and ideal for children. . a river beach a few hundred metres from our tent and a childrens park visible from the tent. . the dutch campsite owners went to so much effort to organise activities for the children, everything from bingo and talent nights to fossil hunting. . whilst this site might not appeal to some because it has just 2 swimming pools rather than the 4 or 5 of some other sites, having the river beach on the site meant that we didn't feel at all short changed. . the location of the site is great, being very close to some beautiful villages as well as the larger town of ruoms. we found some lovely restaurants and markets as well as the local super u a handful of miles away. . as regards the eurocamp elements of this holiday, as always they were faultless. the tent itself was ideal. we prefer to stay in a tent rather than a mobile home because we like to feel like "proper campers". the only down side is the lack of toilet, however on this site the wash block was fairly close, impeccably clean and with so many showers and loos we never needed to queue no matter what time of day. they even had a special area for children with smaller loos, basins and showers. . andrew and helen, the seasonaires where friendly, welcoming and helpful and obviously really enjoy their jobs. thank you both. . we recommend this site without hesitation and today phoned eurocamp to book again for next year.
Chloe from Uttoxeter (30 August 2014)

Parc rules were not observed or implemented ie quiet after 11pm. The eurocamp pitches were particularly noisy. This did spoil our evenings almost every night. It was a shame that the parc owners (dutch) brought food over from holland to supply the restaurant. Cheap yes, authentic no. Great that the site is right on the river this was a big bonus and alot of fun was had. Helen and andrew our couriers were fantastic.
Christina from Peterborough (27 August 2014)

Lovely campsite excellent facilites beautiful weather . very friendly efficient staff
Helen from Broadstairs (24 August 2014)

We stayed one week at belledonne in the alps and one week at la bastide. sadly we didn't realise that both campsites were rcn dutch campsites with 95% dutch occupancy. this meant no opportunity for our son oliver to meet any other children. no friends for oliver meant no relaxation for us as he was bored!!
Cathy from Swindon (22 August 2014)

We are thrilled we decided to book this holiday. We had a great time. The whole thing surpassed our expectations.
Julie from Tyne And Wear (21 August 2014)

Lovely campsite, clean facilities, great pool area and excellent base for canoing. good job that there is now a wooden base under the tent as I think we wuld have been flooded out when we had a storm. great idea eurocamp. The only disappointing part for our children in particular is that 99.9% of the holiday makers were dutch. as lovely as the dutch are, a bit more of a mixed bag would've been good, some french and some brits maybe?
Julie from Solihull, Uk (15 August 2014)

The couriers on the parc are outstanding and very helpful. The parc is just next to the ardeche and is tree lined so the tents are shaded. It can flood, so be careful of leaving anything on ground outside. The tents are on boards. Water disappears very quickly though. The toilets and showers and washing up areas are good but there are not enough showers. There are a few activities but we had teenage children so did not use them. The launderette machines use their own powder, which meant a bit of hand washing for me! the local area is lovely. There is a supermarket - super u very near, great value with a petrol station. The area of vallon pont d'arc, is aimed at kayakers! lots of companies in the town to choose from. We went on a 24 km trip down the rapids, be warned the double kayaks are a nightmare to manouver (get singles) and it is so busy its a bit like the m25, except with paddles and rocks. Be warned - you will fall out! we had a great time. Slightly further afield vogue is very pretty and if you want a change of gorge scenery the road via gorges du tarn is stunning. We spent the day at pont du gard. 18 euros but lovely - u need to be there before 11 to get a shaded lounger, but there are toilets and cafes. This parc is run by the dutch and therefore has a large dutch clientelle who mainly have small children. Be warned we got told off for laughing too loud at midnight by neighbouring dutch with young ones! we were playing cards (never mind the 6am awakening from small children! ours if left won't get up till 12midday..).
Lorraine from Langstone (13 August 2014)

Lovely pitch, great eurocamp team but we felt like we were on holiday in holland.
Sarah from Harrogate (09 August 2014)

Overall holiday was great, largely because of the regions we went to not necessarily because of the campsites - interlaken was fantastic, but la bastide not so great, overall holiday was good,
Stephen from Brackley (08 August 2014)

The ardeche is a beautiful part of france with some lovely little villages to explore, beautiful rivers to swim and play in as well as fabulous for family canoeing adventures. We loved it. However, we weren't so keen on the campsite. We were staying in a eurocamp tent which was comfortable as ever, but the pitches on this felt too small and cramped together. The toilets weren't cleaned enough and there was a bad smell as you approached the toilet block.there were some good aspects of the campsite, the kids loved collecting little fish and tadpoles by the rivers edge and the showers were very good. Just didn't feel very relaxing at our pitch.
Jill from Edinburgh (31 July 2014)

Lovely site. Wifi slow and sometimes unobtainable, that was very frustrating and needs sorting out by the campsite owners.
Jennifer (27 June 2014)

Fabulous 5 nights in a safari tent, in a the wonderful ardeche. Great for families, young and old. We will be back next year!
Victoria from Dubai (25 June 2014)

Part of a much bigger holiday tour, so only spent a night here. Wish it could have been more
Kris from Yorkley, Near Lydney (17 June 2014)

It was the holiday of a lifetime, we stayed at 3 eurocamp sites and my boyfriend proposed as we were jumping off rocks into the ardeche river :) la bastide en ardeche was our first stop and it was wonderful; a smallish and very friendly park with a private river beach. It would definatly recommend this park. We stayed at 3 parks over our holiday and the couriers at la bastide outshone the rest. They were fab. Also the tents here are set on a wooden base so the tent was raised off the floor, I was surprised to find that the tents at the other parks weren't. It is such a good idea; you could walk around without the worry of stepping on a stone hidden under the ground sheet and the rain couldn't get in.
Catherine from Midlands (15 June 2014)

It so super - going back next year - our hosts were super, always ready to help and happy to help with smiles.
Ronald from Bexkeyheath (13 June 2014)

Overall a great holiday good value for money nice camping parc with mixture of sunshine and shade.
Charlie from Bolney (03 June 2014)

Excellent family holiday, great site and location and my 4 and 6 year olds loved it.
James (31 May 2014)

We enjoyed a superb 3 days down the ardeche with an excellent guide from experience ardeche. We also enjoyed high ropes nearby to the campsite, local walks and visit to medieval town, san martin at the end of the gorge road.
Sarah from Sheffield (31 May 2014)

Superb fun experience on river and in surrounding countryside. walk book good esp if you had a dictionary. avignon lovely too.
Alex from Newark On Trent (30 May 2014)

Good site. Clean facilities. Very helpful couriers. Good price
Peter from Henfield (30 May 2014)

We really enjoyed our holiday. Our only criticism was the park itself - the staff were lovely and helpful but the shop, bar, restaurant were all closed between 12 and 4 meaning we had no way of buying cold drinks, ice creams, lunch which seemed crazy for a parc that caters for children. Helen and andrew were lovely and very helpful though and cannot fault them.
Leanne from Wells (30 May 2014)

If you love the outside you'll love this holiday, from biking, canoeing, horse riding, climbing, walking and more to just relaxing by the pool or your accommodation.
Fleming from Canterbury (30 May 2014)

All equal to or above expectations
Carmichael from Bosbury (27 May 2014)

Excellent parc, dutch run no language problems they speak better english than us and nearby village well worth a look round, especially to recover from journeys on some of the district roads. Enjoyable trek up the mountain (hill!) to sampzon. Plenty of places of interest in the area.
Ms from Doncaster (24 May 2014)

We stayed at 3sites overall. Eachsite had it's good and bad point's. the ardech site is owned by a dutch company so there's a lot of dutch there who own their own holiday homes. Very friendly people who are nice but tend not to include you in events on the site. A nice area with lovely scenery and places to visit. Lama farm and lavender museum is a must.
John from Andover (17 May 2014)

Had a great time and we were well looked after by our eurocamp couriers during a heavy storm and were upgraded to a safari tent which we are definitely booking for next year! . thanks eurocamp!
Katie from London (09 September 2013)

Very good couriers, great location.
Richard from Ilanelli (06 September 2013)

We had a fantastic holiday park staff were very helpful friendly and accommodating. they made us feel relaxed and welcome. so did the eurocamp couriers on the whole. however, my parents in their tent with my brother and sisterinlaw and small daughter could not quite agree. they did not want to make a fuss but when we arrived to find that the company were not able to provide a double bed for them (and one had been requested) they were a little put out but accomadating. then after 3 uncomfortable nights sleep they realised that one of the beds was broken and when this was brought up with the couriers they were not rude but they were not impressed at being asked to sort this out for us. however the fix did not improve the situation and we were made to feel that we could not say anything else as we may have been classed as a nuisance so they stuck with the beds and my poor brothers back suffered as a consequence. this was also followed by a somewhat unprofessional behaviour whilst they were cleaning out another tent next to us after a family had left when they were visited by a fellow courier from another site and my husband and I could not help overhearing about 30 minutes moaning about customers which we found very unprofessional. however having said all of this they were very kind to us personally but the above did make us cautious for the remainder of the holiday. but our kids loved it and we had a fantastic time.
Customer 55 from Port Erin (31 August 2013)

A fantastic holiday
Emma from Peterborough (31 August 2013)

Everything excellent except for one small thing. there were no stoppers in the sinks for washing up. the bowl works fine for everything except the barbecue grill, which is messy anyway. please either tell people they need to bring a universal sink plug ( I have one but did not bring it!), or give the couriers some to sell. once you're there you're stuck. Cheers,. alf
Alf (30 August 2013)

Beautiful location, spacious and peaceful. Only small criticism, would have liked more food variety in the shop although it was easy to get to the large supermarket. The playgrounds could have done with more equipment to include slightly older children. Also the picture of the campsite on all promotional information is misleading, the parc isn't actually at the arc, which is actually a few km away.
Amy from Hermitage (27 August 2013)

Overall, this was a lovely holiday. In particular, the onsite 'animateurs' (think redcoats) were brilliant in leading entertainment. The site is nice, clean and shady with a great pool. Reservations - it's dutch owned and 90 per cent of guests were dutch, which is ok, but it feels like a dutch colony in france. The restaurant is limited and caters more for dutch taste but if you like chips etc. You'll be ok. Plenty to do nearby - the treetop ropes/monkey wires place up the road is very good value. We enjoyed kayaking (shop around offsite for better price) but be warned - if you're not experienced (like us), it's easy to capsize. They're a bit more laid back about it than you would expect in the uk. Overall, would recommend with a solid 8/10, notwithstanding those small reservations.
David from Birmingham (25 August 2013)

The park is populated by 90% of dutch families, and the park staff only speak dutch and english. If we had wanted to go to holland then we wouldn't have booked a holiday in france!. everyone friendly enough but it didn't feel like france and the pitches across the whole site where vey close together with very little privacy. First time with eurocamp having been on holiday with canvas holidays for over 10 years and not overly impressed to be honest.
Emma from Guildford (24 August 2013)

Barry and lesley were fantastic, a great credit to you. Helped to make it a great holiday
Edward from Reading (23 August 2013)

A lovely relaxing holiday, would recommend it to anyone.
Martin from Hednesford (16 August 2013)

Superb area of france, the campsite being on the river, the weather and the various walks make this an ideal holiday destination for couples and families.
Roy from Hullbridge, Essex. (30 Jul 2013)

Good holiday . fabulous scenery. Good location with ardeche river at base of camp. Good shop. Good fellow dutch campers.
Chris from Fareham (28 Jul 2013)

We had no choice after our original parc was removed by eurocamp. As we wanted a parc on the river and bastide was the only other one in the ardeche region available. . the parc was predominantly used by the dutch and run by them. The parc manager was extremely helpful following an accident during a canoe descent; we pointed out that there was insufficient warnings of the dangers posed by the ardeche river. . barry and lesley, the eurocamp couriers were very helpful in every sense. . the quality of the mobile home was questionable; it's age showed and we started to wonder where the newer mobile homes are in france, do eurocamp have any?
Mark from London (26 Jul 2013)

Very good all round
Richard from Cheltenham (06 Jul 2013)

Good site.enjoyed heated swimming pool.nice villages to visit.the ardeche gorge is fantastic
Elizabeth (29 Jun 2013)

Very nice campsite (although almost exclusively dutch). there was plenty to do in the area and on site.
Susan from Lewes, East Sussex (24 Jun 2013)

Good 4 days at this parc
Michael from East Leake, Loughborough (22 Jun 2013)

Excellent area to explore by bike and the camp site was a relaxing base to start each day from.
David from London (22 Jun 2013)

The staff were very friendly & helpful. The campsite was clean & tidy, but services seemed quite limited even though the site was full, we know it was early in the season, but the park was very busy, weather hot yet you couldn't even buy an ice cream until after 4pm.
Lesley from Exeter (21 Jun 2013)

Lovely parc - the whole week was excellent.
Ian from Lichfield (20 Jun 2013)

This was our first eurocamp holiday and I must say we all really enjoyed it. Our 3 year old son had a ball of a time playing from morning until dusk. We found all of the other "campers" very friendly. Only a few negative points - no beach (we were told that this is "made up" from july) and the shop / cafe opening times were alittle disappointing. Shop open from 8-10 and then 16.00 - 19.00. Also it would have been nice to have been warned about the nearby festival. The music was very loud between 22.00 and 03.00 on three of the days.
Peter from Hastings (19 Jun 2013)

Had yet another great holiday thanks to eurocamp. The flexibility of allowing us to travel around several sites is wonderful. And gong in low season means fantastic value for money
Rachel (16 Jun 2013)

The most fantastically relaxing holiday ever!! barry and lesley, our couriers, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The area was gorgeous and full of things to do. We went in early june and the weather was perfect, and it was also nice that it wasn't too busy. Campsite facilities were outstanding, with plenty of hot, powerful showers. Campsite staff were knowledgable and helpful. 10/10
Donna from Surrey (15 Jun 2013)

Had a wonderful holiday here. Great parc with excellent facilities. Very happy with accommodation. Holiday was definitely made so enjoyable by the fantastic couriers, lesley and barry. Very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Gail (30 May 2013)

Very lucky with the weather so had a lovely week.
