Well presented with all that you need. Lovely village with walks from the door Stephen from Watton (03 November 2018)
We had a lovely stay at acorn cottage in october half term. We all agreed that it was one of the best holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in. It was big but without losing the cosy feel, and had all the kitchen equipment required for cooking for a large group. Tideswell is a lovely village with several tea rooms, a greengrocer, bakery and two chip shops, as well as several pubs. We hope to visit again. Tracy from Fleet (27 October 2018)
It is a very well appointed cottage, comfortable and in a lovely setting. Everything was in working order and very clean. Would definitely like to return. The garden was stunning. Gloria from Spondon Derby (29 September 2018)
Lovely cottage - perfect.. ideally situated in tideswell in a quiet area but only walking distance to shops/pubs etc. Owners made the booking very easy and would certainly think about returning Jackie from Lincolnshire (11 September 2018)
A beautiful cottage, very clean and everything we needed for our week there. A week was shared with my grown up daughters and miniature schnauzer and a great time was had by all. . we would definitely return again one day when my daughters have more time from their city jobs!. thank you for my wonderful memories. Karrina (18 August 2018)
We, that is my husband, myself, our son and family who travelled from vancouver and our other son and his partner all loved acorn cottage, it was spacious, well equipped, and we all felt it had a homely feel to it. . the only drawback was the parking. I have difficulty walking and my husband had to drive up to the cottage to pick me up. I do realise that nothing can be done about this, but we felt that it should have been made clearer on your website. Confirmed Guest (04 August 2018)
A very comfortable , well appointed house in a delightful area. Excellent facilities both inside and out. The owners were very accommodating and answered all our queries promptly and successfully. Elisabeth from Glasgow (09 June 2018)
Excellent location and well equipped cottage but some of the furnishings are little tired. Living room chair is sunken and in particular the mattress in ensuite bedroom needs replacing. . that said ,fantastic village location - as expected tight for parking ( we were aware when we booked) but everything else is 5star. Would definitely visit again. Ms S from Richmond (26 May 2018)
Beautiful cottage in a quiet pretty village. Wonderful garden to relax in and well equipped with cooking utensils . very clean. Would recommend a visit. Owner very friendly and helpful. Elizabeth from Durham (19 May 2018)
Beautiful cottage, lovely soft furnishings, bedding and towels. A very comfortable and homely cottage. Garden not suitable for dogs, but walks just 2 min up the road. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. Sissel from Hertfordshire (28 April 2018)
Everything about acorn cottage was top notch. cosy warm, inviting and spotlessly clean. you would not know it was pet friendly. Lovey bedding to appliances and cutlery. never known a cottage with so much written information on how to use every appliance available. Even the garden with it's summerhouse with heating, which we didn't need on, even though it was mid april, two ponds with gold fish, frogs and toads was a pleasure to relax in. A good base to visit the rest of the derbyshire dales and further afield. Tideswell has lovely tea rooms, restaurants and great fish and chip shops, plus good local shops. Lovely church and friendly residents. We all enjoyed our stay there. The owner mr eaton is a lovely man. Easy to talk to and very helpful and obliging. Highly recommended! We had a wonderful holiday at acorn cottage, the property was spacious and clean. it was extremely well equipped and well located to walk into the heart of the village. we look forward to staying again next year. Sonia from Oxford (31 March 2018)
We had a great week in acorn cottage. it is very well equipped, furnished and comfortable. David from Walsall (24 February 2018)
A comfortable, cosy and welcoming cottage. We especially appreciated the generous heating and log fires as we hit a particularly cold spell, with strong winds and sleety rain, then snow. location was only a short walk from the village centre with its limited but very helpful shops able to supply all our daily needs. The horse and jockey provided excellent food and bar service. Arrangements for our two dogs were excellent, with access to the rear yard if they returned wet and muddy. Only a 2 minute walk to park extra cars in the square, with parking for a single car very close to the property's front door. Walks of any length cold start directly from the front door. Norman from Ruthin, North Wales. (16 February 2018)
Cottage was comfortable and well furnished. Drawbacks were lack of wifi coverage in 2 of the bedrooms and only one television which had to be switched on and off at the side to get it to work. Cottage clean upstairs but not as clean downstairs. Good location but only parking for one car and that was a small tricky space. Good supply of hot water for showers. James from Hertfordshire (15 July 2017)
Cleanliness was poor and couldn't hoover as it was full and blocked. garden not tidy and not very pet friendly. Didn't live up to expectations Gwen from Carnoustie (17 June 2017)
Beautiful holiday cottage! so well appointed and in a gorgeous location. Hannah from Buckingham (03 June 2017)
The cottage was very comfortable and idealy situated for all we wanted in the peak district. . although restricted parking at cottage plenty of free parking spaces in the market place, literally 2 mins away. Confirmed Guest (27 May 2017)
Lovely spacious luxury cottage. Ideal for a family break Anthony from Wymondham (29 April 2017)
A week's holiday at acorn cottage in the peak district. We had a wonderful week in this very comfortable, well located, characterful cottage. Tideswell is well situated in the peak district, and easy to access lots of walks, stately homes, and famous sites. The cottage was well appointed, with a lovely terraced garden. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the living room very spacious and homely. Great selection of dvds. Lai from Edinburgh (01 April 2017)
Great place, we all loved our stay. thank you Confirmed Guest (13 March 2017)
We had a fab time in acorn cottage. Was a bit tricky to find, arriving in the dark, but we made it and once we were in the front door it was perfect. Cottage was very well equipped, we were 8 adults and 2 dogs- had plenty of space and all the things we might need right there in the cottage. Slept very well, ate well, had some cracking walks nearby and enjoyed the village location. Confirmed Guest (06 March 2017)
Warm and welcoming cottage. Very spacious lounge but the downstairs bedroom used by my wife and I (aged 82) was rather limited in shelf and storage space. Other bedrooms had more space but stairs to them needed a rail on both sides for safety. A small item but a great improvement in safety even for more agile residents and allowing more flexibility in choosing rooms. . cons were the difficulty of lighting and maintaining the log burners/ very tight parking space/some drainy smells , particularly from upstairs showers. Pros included excellent arrangements for (sometimes wet and muddy) dogs/lovely garden in season/good local shops/quiet location/heating. Norman from Ruthin, Denbighshire (24 February 2017)
This is a very well equipped & comfortable home. We loved exploring tideswell & surrounds with our dogs. It is a doggie heaven. Tricia from Sheffield (27 January 2017)
This is a fabulous cottage. as it is also a family home it is very well equipped. The owner has modernised and extended to a very high standard. We've stayed in the area several times but this is our favourite so far. Eleanor from Leeds (08 December 2016)
Very comfortable. Lovely garden nicely secluded. Wood burning stoves great in the winter. Nothing to fault. Simon from Sidmouth (01 October 2016)
A very comfortable and spacious cottage in a beautiful area. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and the main bedroom has doors out to the garden with a summer house. A peaceful village with plenty of places to eat and all the locals that we met were very friendly. Margaret from North Wales (17 September 2016)
Lovely cottage and village. parking space is tight but we have a very big car, plenty of parking a couple of mins walk though. we would definitely go back Ingrid from Lauder (10 September 2016)
A delightful holiday cottage in an excellent location. Well loved & welcoming. Owners very kind & helped us feel very settled & comfortable. Will certainly aim to return. Cathy from Beverley (27 August 2016)
Lovely comfortable house in a great location. Louise from Watford (13 August 2016)
Fantastic holiday, 14 year old daughter loved all the cooking equipment, very comfortable for us 5. my only hiccup was the tap in the kitchen that seemed to spray you with water when you turned it on on cold!! Anne from Hemel (06 August 2016)
A beautiful, well-equipped cottage in a great location for exploring the peak district. Our stay was hugely enhanced by the attractive rooms, gorgeous garden and high quality facilities Abigail from Olney (30 July 2016)
We had a lovely week in the cottage, very comfortable .lovely garden full of birds. Only downside was the placing of the toaster, microwave and coffee maker in the utility room. Pat from Weston-Super-Mare (25 June 2016)
Beautiful cottage full of character and charm. Well equipped with everything you need, lots of space and delightful garden. Good village location with plenty of amenities. Lovely walks nearby and easy travel to bakewell, chatsworth etc. Only negative was parking space too small for our car but plenty of space available on nearby road and very unpleasant "drain smell" in en suite bathroom which really does need to be looked at. Sherelle from Braithwell (16 April 2016)
We loved our time at acorn cottage, and so did the dog! a surprisingly spacious 4 bedroom property with heaps of character. Clean, comfortable, warm and cosy, we would recommend it whole heatedly. Not much parking outside the cottage itself but there was plenty of space in the village square which is just 2 minutes away. We had a great time, thank you stuart and sally for being so accommodating - even after inadvertadly stealing your throws! Joey from Cheltenham (02 April 2016)
The property owners have set up this cottage beautifully and were extremely helpful during our stay. Steve from Sheffield (22 August 2015)
Lovely cottage and beautiful garden with many spots to sit and enjoy the flowers and birds. Tideswell is an attractive village and the cottage has all the amenities. It is close to the local shop, about 5 minutes walk away. We enjoyed our one week stay as a family group and appreciated the three bathrooms and the general level of comfort. The children made good use of the games drawer. This area of derbyshire has beautiful countryside, good walks and is close to the stately houses of chatsworth and lyme park and the attractive town of bakewell. Ruth from Adelaide, Southaustralia (15 August 2015)
