Excellent accommodation had a but of a problem with flying ants in the kitchen Reid from Braintree (04 August 2017)
A very comfortable , well located cottage, clean and well equipped.( tiny paved garden if you have a large dog,) but park and lovely walks very nearby. Hilary from Cardiff (23 June 2017)
Lovely spacious cottage for 6, pretty location, make allowances for car park, if disabled, in sight of cottage, about a five minute walk. 2 tv's and 2 showers & toilets, excellent! overall standard of kitchen equipment (mainly cutlery, bread knife etc' poor, we had to go out and buy our own) we didn't use the cooker, as was dirty, floors could have done with a thorough hoover. Our stay was a pleasant one nevertheless, and woul'd stay again, very convenient to visit other places. Janet from Jersey C.I, (26 May 2017)
Perfect location. . cottage was lovely. Homely but with luxury too. Would recommend. Christopher from Wednesbury (05 May 2017)
Overall the house was lovely and more than spacious gor all 8 of us. The shower in the big bathroom is poor and the double beds were too small for me as I need at least a king. This applied to our freinds who we shared with too. Overall though very good and a pleasant and well ebjoyed weekend. Matthew from Coventry (17 April 2017)
Beautiful cosy cottage. Confirmed Guest (27 March 2017)
Lovely stay, great place :) would definitely come again Hannah from Royal Wootton Bassett (01 January 2017)
Good location, parking inconvenient, good size cottage. . . on arrival the cottage was absolutely freezing cold - no heating switched on ! on our first nights stay we went to bed fully clothed & then had to wear our coats indoors all the next day waiting for the house to warm up - not acceptable! a door on the utility room would certainly have helped plus some form of heating, this kept the downstairs rooms permanently cold. . . the first floor nice & cosy but we did not wish to reside upstairs during our xmas break. . the kitchen was a good size but the cooking facilities poor, dirty oven & grill pans, rusty saucepans & we had to wash all crockery, cutlery & glasses prior to use (very dusty & some with food lumps on). the basins in both bathrooms had mould encrusted round the plug holes so needed to be cleaned prior to use. . christmas themed decorations very poor - we can say no more! Clive from Hampshire (27 December 2016)
Second stay, as good as the first. Couldn't fault the cottage. wifi would be the icing on cake. Confirmed Guest from Oxford (18 November 2016)
7 of us stayed for a 4 day break. rooms are a decent size and it is good that there is a separate lounge dining room from the kitchen, with a tv in each room. kids can watch something different to the adults. Very close to the shops and train station. . down side was no wifi. the tourist information is only open a couple of days in the week and was therefore shut for our holiday duration. Difficult to plan the day ahead with no wifi. Trish from Cirencester (28 October 2016)
Excellent cottage/facilities.. Scott from Northampton (12 September 2016)
We had a fantastic stay at weir corrage. Everything about our stay was perfect. We would highly recommend it and hope to return ourselves in the future. Jackie from Burntwood (02 September 2016)
Fantastic stay. Kelley from Reading (12 August 2016)
Had a great week loved it so much we've booked another week in september Ian from Stafford (01 July 2016)
Lovely house close to all amenities. clean and nicely decorated. Helen from Sutton Coldfield (08 April 2016)
Lovely cottage, excellent location, within walking distance of dawlish and train station. . no parking directly outside property, however pay and display car park over stream within sight of the cottage. . cottage spacious, however my youngest daughter used the sofa bed which is located in the kitchen area. We overcame this by making breakfast in the large utility room next to the kitchen. . we had a great holiday and would definitely return in the future. Lynn from Chippenham (01 April 2016)
Excellent location, lovely cottage. Definitely return. Trudy from Oxford (11 March 2016)
We stayed at weir cottage over the february half term. . . our holiday didn't get off to a great start as the property was absolutely freezing when we arrived - it felt like there had been no heating on for a sustained period of time (probably since the last guests stayed which at a guess would be christmas/new year) and some of the upstairs windows had been left on the latch to allow the air to move while the property was vacant. It took a day and a half of having the heating on constantly before the cottage was finally warm and cosy. Our first evening in the lounge was spent in fleece onesies huddled up in the duvets off our beds. . . the other problem we encountered on our first night was the lack of any decent size saucepans. The cottage is advertised for up to 8 people, we were only 5 (2 adults and 3 young children) yet there was not a saucepan big enough to cook the spaghetti - we had to make do with a 2 person frying pan!! then when we found the colander it was a very nice ceramic one but again only really suitable for a two person portion. . . the above aside the cottage is really well decorated and lots of other things that make it very well equipped. For example two clothes airers, dehumidifier, two tvs, two toilets and bathrooms, dishwasher, washing machine, hairdryer etc. . the two double bedded rooms are a good size and there is loads of storage in built in wardrobes. The twin beds are, in my opinion, only suitable for children but again this is a very nice room. . . the house was on the whole very clean - we did find some previous guests items under the beds in the twin room and in one of the wardrobes. . . there is no wifi (which we knew before we went so not a problem) but we got 3g downstairs in the cottage and 4g upstairs. Once the children understood that there was no internet for watching cbeebies, itunes etc they stopped asking - we found the local charity shop had dvds for £1 so made use of the player in the cottage. We also found a lot of family games and jigsaws in the charity shops so we found that we did not miss the internet! looking at the guest book in the cottage there seemed to be a theme of people saying that wifi would be nice to have - I would agree with this especially when you have 3 children of different ages that are used to being able to watch "their programme" just by logging in online. . . we didn't have any problem finding on street parking but then it is low season - but looking at the car park charges you can get a weekly pass for less than £25 and this was only a couple of minutes walk away. . . the town is less than 2-3 minutes away from the cottage and there was a far bit to see in dawlish. We spent time up on dartmoor (20 minutes away) and found lots to do and see in and around the area. . . if we went back to dawlish again then we would definitely book weir cottage - we would just take a couple of saucepans with us! Tamara from Falmouth (21 February 2016)
Very good cottage clean and comfortable Cliff from Banbury (04 January 2016)
This cottage is well maintained to a high standard. Perfect location and is dog and people friendly. couldn't fault it. Julie from Worcestershire (08 November 2015)
There was a lack of saucepans and only a tiny frying pan. we were only 6 and I struggled to manage but if there were 8 it wouldn't be anywhere near enough. . . the mattresses and pillows were poor quality. . everything else was excellent so its a shame that these two elements let it down. . beautiful location with good parking nearby and easy access to all amenities, shops and public transport. Marilyn from Surbiton (31 October 2015)
Fantastic cottage and wonderful location. Clean and tidy. Beds not very comfortable though. outside area in desperate need of tidying up its not that large!! area covered in cat poo which made sitting outside not very nice. Special thànks to paula the housekeeper Confirmed Guest (12 October 2015)
Lovely cottage close to all local amenities and within easy reach of train station, lovely little village. needed a bit of tweeking in the garden regarding the upkeep and a lock on the side gate would be a welcome addition. also wi-fi would really be a bonus at the property. this aside loved our stay at weir cottage. Janet from Bournemouth (09 October 2015)
Lovely cottage in a great location, nicely decorated and furnished. Really comfortable beds and a cosy home from home. No wifi though. that would have been a nice extra touch. Gill from Bristol (28 September 2015)
Would be nice if wi fi was available. Cottage lovely, well equipped, with pleasant outlook over the brook. David from Chaddleworth Newbury Berkshire (25 September 2015)
What a fantastic little gem of a place, absolute home from home with everything we needed for our stay, spotlessly clean and tidy, loads of space inside and a lovely garden which backs out onto the river. Great location in dawlish, the owners haven't scrimped on anything to make this place absolute first class, we hope to return next year. Martin from Wombourne, Wolverhampton (14 September 2015)
Very clean, pleasant cottage in ideal location. Confirmed Guest (11 September 2015)

Great place , great location , all round great Phillip from Birmingham (12 June 2015)
Beautifully appointed cottage. Plenty of room to sleep 8. Excellent facilities. Great location in town of dawlishs minutes walk to shops, restaurant, pub and beach. Vicky from Dudley (10 April 2015)
A most enjoyable holiday. The premises were in a delightful spot and the welcome from the couple who look after the house was warm and helpful. Previous clients had left nachos and nuts between the settee and lots of cigarette ends in the garden which my youngest granddaughter found together with quite a lot of dog poop which she managed to get all over her boots. The garden in the wall at the front also had numerous dog poops along it which was a bit off putting for a young family. Gwyneth from Neal (20 February 2015)
Super cottage in a fantastic location. It's within a short stroll of all of the local amenities, pubs, beaches and the train station. Very well equipped with kitchen utensils, cutlery etc. A lovely area to explore. Would highly recommend. Confirmed Purchaser (03 January 2015)
It was really nice, and peaceful . Mitzie from Bristol (28 December 2014)
