Lovely place, we hope to visit again. Friendly owners, loved the visit from the dog. You need a car to get anywhere. Kerry from Swadlincote (17 July 2017)
We had a glorious week at the sty the weather was fab and the cottage was really lovely,we were even provided with a bbq in the courtyard that was ours and we didnt miss our pets as we has 2 cats to talk to and the 2 dogs how good is that ,. the grounds are beautiful lots of plants and trees ,couple of minutes into bridport and almost on the doorstep of westbay. Great location to sightsee we went to portland bill ,new forest ,sidmouth, wareham and lulworth to name a few of the places visited Linda from South Elmsall,West Yorkshire (08 July 2017)
The sty has been very thoughtfully converted into a beautiful and comfortable home from home with everything you need. A warm welcome from karen and oscar the dog and slovenly welcome pack of milk, eggs from the farm and coffee, and a lovely homemade fruit loaf. Would definitely rev omens to family and friends. Sally from Derby (10 June 2017)
Very clean with a well thought out layout. The owners of the property were very friendly and helpful. We mainly kept to coast walks , which were really great, but it looks like the area has lots of good inland walks through lovely countryside. Lots of pretty villages and great pubs in the area. . property is dog friendly and lots of the coastal and village pubs allow dogs inside too. . no footways on the road to bridport - you need to drive off the site . Martin from Essex (20 May 2017)
Location is a small working farm and has good views, but is a little isolated. A car is a must as there is no footpath along the busy road outside the farm for about 1/2 mile. there are some very nice eateries in 5 mile radius, most are dog friendly and reasonably priced... not your chain types. The equipment in the cottage was high spec, with brand names ie: m+s, dualit, le crueset, aqualisa, bristan, denby etc etc. David (12 May 2017)
Excellent dog friendly farm, the home made farmhouse fruit cake and fresh eggs was a lovely touch. Great place to chill out and relax, really good hot power shower was mega after a days walking and exploring. Robert (05 May 2017)
Beautiful cottage and friendly owners. We had a lovely stay and we're provided with everything we could have possibly needed including fresh farm eggs and milk. Would highly recommend and stay again. Sarah (17 April 2017)
This is a beautifully presented property with everything inside first class from the bed, bed linen to the bathroom. the only downside for us was the lack of outside space to spend time on a glorious sunny weekend. Colin from Brackley (07 April 2017)
One of the nicest and cleanest places i've stayed in. the cottage was well appointed and was exactly as it looked in the brochure. the owners were friendly and accommodating. the little touches, eggs, cake and milk, coffee, tea etc. Were very welcome. I would definitely recommend. Sue from Newbury (18 February 2017)
Lovely cottage, all needs catered for, thoutful welcome pack on arrival from the owner. Definitely would like to book again Customer 10 from Colchester (10 September 2016)
Lovely accommodation in a lovely part of the country. Would definitely stay again if I was in this area. Confirmed Guest (03 September 2016)
Beautiful, clean cottage, lovely location, lots of places to visit. Will definitely return next year. Amanda from Southampton (20 August 2016)
It was clear the owners had put a lot of thought into their guests needs and we were pleased to see that they had provided not just tea, coffee and milk, but a fruitcake and four eggs too. . the farm itself was charming, and the pond garden on one side of the sty was wonderful. We also had our own little private garden with a table and chairs and a barbecue. It was great to sit outside with a glass of wine in the evening. The sty was nicely furnished in a traditional country style. The tiny kitchen area was well designed, although much of it, including the microwave was out of reach for a small person such as myself, so a step would have been useful. There was enough cooking equipment for our needs, although there was only one enormous frying pan which was too big for an omelette or fried egg. The crockery, glassware and cutlery were all matching and of good quality - it didn't feel like we had a mish-mash of the owners cast-offs as it does in some holiday rentals. The bathroom was lovely and everything worked well. The owners thoughtfully provided bath and shower gel. The bed was extremely comfortable and we appreciated the good quality bedlinen. If I could have changed anything it would have been the animal hide rug in front of the sofa, but that's being picky. Ideally we would have liked wifi too, but luckily plenty of pubs in bridport had free wifi. Lorna from London (06 August 2016)
Lovely cottage, made to feel very welcome. owners had thought of everything. Very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again. Heather from Weston-Super-Mare (16 July 2016)
Very comfortable accommadation this is our second time staying here. Anne from Edinburgh (02 July 2016)
First holiday in dorset but unfortunately the weather was dreadful forcing an early return home. The cottage is on a working farm although only ever saw sheep. The cottage consists of one room and bathroom and you are inclined to get cabin fever. Everything is provided included a welcome gift of fresh eggs and buns. Tastefully furnished and dog friendly and were provided with access to a large gated and fenced field for dog exercise. A little frustrating that there is no internet/mobile phone access and no wifi and so ipad had a holiday too. Bridport is a short drive away where food supplies can be bought and is particularly attractive on market day. Good walking country although because of the rain the ground was water-logged!. the road from the farm entrance is fast so keep your dog on a lead. Lyme regis and abbotsbury (sub tropical gardens) are well worth a visit. Not impressed by west bay. Malcolm from Ware, Hertfordshire (18 June 2016)
Well presented cottage, tastefully decorated. Needs a coffee table and a bigger & more comfortable sofa. Otherwise loveky Jonathan from Norwich (21 May 2016)
Lovely quality cottage for two. Tasteful and quirky. Everything supplied to start your break. Nice grounds, loved wandering round. Coast and shopping etc easily accessible. Had a very relaxed break, only downside for us was lack of mobile signal as the cottage has no wifi. No issue with noise as there were no guests next door, so cannot comment. But if your after a get away from it all. It's perfect. We'd definitely return. Lovely owners, lovely property, lovely stay. Thank you x Tracey from Derbyshire (06 May 2016)
An execllent cottage with charming hosts Confirmed Guest (02 May 2016)
Compact accommodation equipped to a high standard with everything you need for a break away. Spotlessly clean & located in a good position to explore lots of bays& coastal towns. Nice touch to provide milk, hot cross buns & fresh farm eggs from their hens on our arrival. Alison from Sutton Coldfield (07 April 2016)
Fantastic stay, would visit again Mark from London (06 March 2016)
Loved the place, just a little out of town. Janet from Cwmbran (08 February 2016)
Brilliant. . very clean and well equipped. warm welcome and friendly and accommodating owners. Could not ask for better. Thank you. Confirmed Guest (05 February 2016)
Fantastic little place, owner was lovely and just left you to get on, very dog friendly with a lovely field to run your dog. Fit and finish of the sty was to a very high standard. Location was also very good close to beach at burton bradstock and westbay plus lots more. We will definitely be going back. Paul from Silchester (17 January 2016)
Beautiful cottage, every detail and more thought of. Lovely owners. Would definitely stay again. Very dog friendly and a real oasis of peace and quiet. Lindsay from Bristol (10 October 2015)
The cottage was excellent. very welcoming and a lovely comfy bed . Ronald from Great Yarmouth (19 September 2015)
Excellent accomodation. Perfect location. Would definately recommend Victoria from Scunthorpe (05 September 2015)
Beautifully furnished, with access to some of the working farm the let is located on. also access to a field which was safe for dog walking. bridport is a few minutes drive away. Owners helpful & friendly. Customer 28 from Littlehampton (29 August 2015)
Fantastic property great location. Colin from London (20 June 2015)
If I was staying in the area again I would certainly consider the sty. it was compact but comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. easy access from the road, and good parking. the owners were friendly and helpful (friendly dogs also a plus). the downside of accessibility was the road noise but you can't have everything! some noise also from the adjoining cottage through the wall. Alison from Edinburgh (06 June 2015)
Our stay at the sty was terrific, can't wait to go back. Great time. Steve from Leamington Spa (19 April 2015)
A wonderful place to stay, very luxurious yet homely! Kelly from Portsmouth (01 March 2015)
I'd mark it 11 if they let me. Absolutely 'top', from the warm welcome to the warm and cosy accommodation, which was spotless. It was very well equip, and a few little extras you wouldn't expect. took our dog, he loved it too! plenty of good walks, pubs, beaches. We will most definitely be going back !!! Juliet from Plymouth (26 February 2015)
Fantastic place, and very quiet. Had a thoroughly relaxing break. Russell from Aldershot (23 February 2015)
We had a fantastic week at the sty. It was stylish, comfortable, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. we would definitely recommend to others and hope to book it ourselves again soon. Customer 35 from Harrow (21 February 2015)
Excellent all round. Very peaceful, although very helpful hosts should you need anything. Steve from Chelmsford (07 February 2015)
The sty studio cottage was perfect for a short getaway. Very close to nearby town with many of the usual supermarkets, very convenient. It was beautifully finished with little extra touches like some fresh eggs and milk made it feel like home from home. Lovely and clean with all essentials catered for! I very much recommend this cottage. Bernice from Bishops Stortford (04 January 2015)
Beautifully presented studio, lovely and cosy despite visiting in november. easily accessible by road. Morag from London (23 November 2014)
A great place to stay, very dog friendly. lots of beach walks, within an 8 minute drive. the cottage itself is very well equipped with high quality furnishings & fittings. (the only thing we found that is missing, is that no wifi available). this is an excellent place to stay & a great base for days out in dorset. Allan from North Norfolk (01 November 2014)
We received a warm welcome from the owners and enjoyed the position of the cottage for visiting local attractions. dogs were made most welcome and an exercise area set aside for them. this suited us very well. Dianne from Horsford, Norfolk (13 September 2014)
Cottage was perfect for our needs, really good location about 5 mins drive from bridport and west bay, supermarkets (lidl and co-op) nearby for supplies also. Cottage itself was really well done, with high quality cooking utensils and overall finish throughout. Owners gave us our privacy but were available if we needed them. No complaints, would come back here again Confirmed Purchaser (25 August 2014)
A brilliant place to stay, so many places to visit in the area, thoroughly enjoyable Celia from Stamford (02 August 2014)
Very nice cottage, convenient for places to visit. Graeme from Liversedge (26 July 2014)
Very pleasant surroundings, no problems with traffic noise despite being fairly close to road. Well situated for visiting the numerous attractions of the area although traffic in and around bridport was a bit much for someone used to the quieter roads in the east midlands. For anyone interested in gardens of all sorts it is ideal as there is so much to see within 20 -30 miles. Very enjoyable! Bryan from Bingham, Nottingham (12 July 2014)
Really enjoyed our stay. Owners were welcoming but left you to relax. Would definitely recommend as a base for what is a beautiful county. Gary from Bradpole (21 June 2014)
Great, high quality little studio well located for walking the south coast. fixtures and fittings were of highest standard and we had a very relaxing stay. best value accommodation we have had from cottages4u to date. Colin from Sleaford (07 June 2014)
Really enjoyed my stay, will definitely book again. Amina from London (30 May 2014)
This cottage was beautifully done and felt very luxurious! it has everything you need to cater for yourself and we there were eggs, milk and pastries on arrival. We stayed for 2 nights, but didn't want to leave! the owners were great - there if you needed them, otherwise didn't bother us. Also I used my tesco clubcard points to get £100 off the price. Melissa from Blandford Forum (26 May 2014)
Had a very good week everything we needed was here, downside we could hear people next door in evening even if they were quite. Apart from that all was well owners were very nice Phillip from Winchester (26 April 2014)
Brilliant, been 4 times now Barbara from Basingstoke (18 April 2014)
Enjoyed our stay. But on reflection too expensive after further research. Confirmed Purchaser (12 April 2014)
What a stunning cottage, great location. Only one little minus point is that as they allow pets and the farm that it is on is next to a road is fairly busy I would have liked a little fence around the plot of the cottage to stop my dog going near the road, but not the end of the world, I took a ground spike and line and just kept her on that when she went outside. Jason from Basingstoke (27 March 2014)
We had a fabulous time at the sty. we would definitely visit again. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic accomodation.. and amazing weather! Kate from Northampton (16 March 2014)
A clean tidy cottage. Small but as advertised and ideal for a short break to explore the dorset coast lying just outside the busy market town of bridport. Warm welcome and the little extras like a box of their own eggs and the hot cross buns were nice touches. Certainly return if we want to be down here again. Peter from Newbury (23 February 2014)
With a cosy and beautiful interior, the sty was a perfect base from which to explore the jurassic coast. Ideal for couples and a lovely warm welcome from the owner too, we loved it there. Emma from Woodbridge (14 February 2014)
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Wouldn't have changed anything. Cara from Horsham, West Sussex (10 February 2014)
We had such a lovely and peaceful stay at the sty. It was the perfect location as a base to get about the lots of places with bridport town centre only 5 minutes drive away. The cottage was well equipt and we couldn't have been more snug!. it was christmas week, so we weren't sure what to expect, but it really was great. The owners are on site, so if anything does go wrong, they are near by to help. Nicole from London (28 December 2013)
If any one wants somewhere quiet with local butchers and pubs to take the dog and young babies you won't be disappointed. We had trips to weymouth and lyme regis only halve hour away so location pretty good!. the sty itself is a friendly and comfortable cottage perfect for couples or small families!! will be back!!!!! No expense has been spared with the decor on this place, and the added little extras made our stay unforgettable. The owners were so friendly and allowed us to exercise our dog in the field on the farm. Great central location for everything. Amanda from Havant (03 August 2012)
Accommodation was excellent and the cottage owner was welcoming. handover of key was well organised and convenient. Property facilities matched the description. Booking process was good and organised. James from Waterlooville (29 July 2012)
A beautifully furnished studio-style cottage with luxury fixtures and fittings, it has such a lovely feel to the place, set up with tea, ground coffee, milk and hot cross buns. It has a private small patio and garden with miniature wooded area and own parking space, it is very easy to find and close to all amenities and attractions. Cottage is next to the main road so there is the sound of traffic and also the dividing wall between cottages allows the voices of neighbouring holidaymakers to carry through. Customer 71 (April 2012)
The Sty is a real ’home from Home’ beautifully equiped with quality fixtures and fittings, on a picture postcard farm. Karen & Bill were welcoming and friendly and there were lovely touches like coffee, milk & farm fresh eggs on our arrival. The only down side was a the Sty was next to a busy road. We can highly recommend "The Sty". It is in a lovely location, the owners are great & let us walk our little dog in their fields & the accommodation is beautiful, cosy & has everything you need for a self catering holiday. A lovely touch is the ’welcome’ starter food bundle left for you. We are already planning to return next spring!! Customer 78 (August 2011)
Great for accessing local attractions. Very comfortable and homely yet chic! Customer 79 (August 2011)
The Sty is well positioned for touring West Dorset and South Devon. The property was very clean and tidy and a nice touch was finding milk, eggs and lardy cake in the fridge. The owners were very helpful and friendly and also gave us permission to walk the dog in their fields. All in all a very pleasant stay. Customer 80 (July 2011)
A little smaller than we expected. The top shelf of the dresser where the some plates are stored is inaccesible because it is too high and no step was provided. The welcome ’pack’ included milk, eggs and cake was much appreciated. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean. There is ’private’ parking for one car within ten yards of the front door. The flowers are wonderful. Customer 81 (June 2011)
Fantastic. Customer 82 (April 2011)
Absolutely spotlessly clean and tidy. Excellent Decor and comfortable. Had a lovely stay and would definetely go back! Customer 83 (February 2011)
