This was our second visit. . very convenient for my 96 year old mother. . the owners are extremely helpful. Sue from Clacton On Sea Tt (30 June 2017)
You couldn't wish for better hosts. on arrival a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge and an introduction to the cottage and grounds from ian. elaine kept us well supplied with produce; eggs from the beautiful hens (who will greet you as a long lost friend each time you arrive back at the cottage) fresh broccoli spears and rhubarb from the garden. the cottage is very welcoming and takes no time to settle in. excellent large well equipped kitchen, although if you want to bake or make your own soup you will need to bring a hand mixer and blitzer. the large shower is brilliant and the king size bed really comfortable. the lounge has a lovely conservatory off overlooking your own personalised garden with provision for sitting and having a bbq in the summer months. . you also have the opportunity of a guided tour from ian and elaine round their extensive gardens accompanied by the english setters. . . . overall, full marks to ian and rose on providing us with such a lovely holiday. Edward from Leicester (24 March 2017)
Lovely location & a very nice host Confirmed Guest (07 November 2016)
Return visit, excellent hosts, perfect peace and wonderful countryside. Helen from Norwich (07 October 2016)
Lovely quiet cottage and off the beaten track. Customer 5 from Warrington (30 September 2016)
My wife and I received (from owner elaine) the warmest welcome we've ever had at a holiday let in england. she gave us eggs - laid by her own hens - and tomatoes from her garden. the setting is a pleasant rural one and the chickens and rare breed sheep in the adjacent fields were delightful, as were the owners' three english setters. the location is ideal for exploring the romney marshes: our particular interest was the numerous mediaeval churches. relatively easy access is gained to places of interest in east and south kent generally. the sub post office with its grocery in nearby aldington village came in handy, as did the village pub. the coach house has almost all the equipment you would expect (but see caveat next paragraph). we were allowe to use heating as required. elaine rounded off our stay by giving us a tour of her beautiful garden. . on the distaff side: there was no electric shaver point in the bathroom; the towel rail fell off its mountings on day 2, apparently not for the first time, but the matter remained unresolved and we kept our towels in the airing cupboard for the rest of our stay; dragging heavy cases up and down the long gravel path from the car to the building was no fun - using the grass either side was better but the case wheels got clogged up with grass cuttings. on the last point, I would suggest either tarmac the path or allow all guests to load and unload at the point where the non-ambulant are permitted to. . I hope my critical comments have been constructive. we enjoyed our stay very much, a fact reflected in the scores awarded. Christopher from Newport, South Wales (23 September 2016)
Lovely spacious cottage. well appointed. hope to return with husband next time. my 95 year old mother loved it. Sue from Clacton On Sea (10 June 2016)

A lovely place to stay elaine andian were very welcoming. it is a very comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for. Jacqui from Bridgwater (27 November 2015)
A need for more artificial lighting in the lounge. A perfect cottage for the summer and warmer nights but not as good come autumn and winter. Confirmed Guest (09 October 2015)
One of the lightest and roomiest places we have stayed in. owners were pleasant, friendly and helpful, good balance of availability and respect for our privacy. . location was good except that it is a little far from the village pub and shop to walk along a road with traffic after dark. Malcolm from London (25 September 2015)
We both enjoyed our holiday at the coach house. the owners were friendly and very welcoming. the property was roomy enough for 2 people and the location was quiet and pleasant, but not too remote. easy access to the places we intended to visit. ie deal castle, rye, tunbridge wells and canterbury. Carol from Red Ditch, Worcestershire. (11 September 2015)
The cottage was very comfortable. Cannot fault anything. Our hosts could not do enough for us and made our stay very enjoyable. Will return to this cottage again. Ann from Humberston Lincs. (04 September 2015)
We had a great time at the coach house, ian and elaine made us feel very welcome and kindly allowed us to consume huge amounts of their gorgeous raspberries! Christine from Newcastle, Nsw, Australia (17 July 2015)
Welcoming hosts in peaceful and most comfortable spacious accomodation. after exploring kent during the day a joy to come back to such a relaxing and pleasant holiday home. John from Norwich (26 June 2015)
The property is in an excellent location.it well maintained and the hosts are lovely, kind people. . the only item of concern was the matress on the bed was uncomfortable. Alan from Southampton (19 June 2015)
Oh what a lovely restfull holiday with three large friendly dogs ,loads of chickens, sheep and best of all a lovely very well appointed property that has been modernised and is so easy to keep clean. elaine and ian just couldn't do enough for us and as we are both disabled this was much appreciated. Elaine kept us supplied with fresh eggs and vegitables free of charge , and I have never tasted eggs before that had just been laid. As far as the building is concerned once up a step to the front door everything is on the level inside and the door frames are wide enough to allow a wheel chair to pass through. All the floors are tiled and the bath has just been removed and a large modern shower fitted. We were the first to use it. Parking is 15 feet away and the property is on private land well away from the road. The day after we arrived home we booked next years fortnight holiday at the coach house again Roy from Lancing. Sussex (22 May 2015)
Good central venue from which to explore kent countryside and coast. accessible for a day trip to france (via tunnel), too. excellent hosts and lovely gardens. water pump a bit noisy especially in the middle of the night when up for nature's call! Stuart from Totnes (10 October 2014)
This is an interesting property, generally very well appointed and the owners were friendly and welcoming. However, there were two problems. Firstly, the double bed was very uncomfortable. It sagged in the middle and creaked noisily. Secondly, the owners had three large dogs which were placid but over attentive. One had the unfortunate habit of pushing its nose in your crotch and/or up your rear end every time you stepped outside. If you are dog lovers you may not mind but if your attitude to dogs is more equivocal- beware! Geoff from Swindon (15 August 2014)
A lovely cottage in a great location, with very friendly and helpful owners on site. Confirmed Purchaser (01 August 2014)
A spacious and airy cottage, ideal for a couple. the owners are friendly and the produce from their large garden was a most welcome bonus. access from the m20 is easy and the cottage is well-situated for the many sights kent has to offer, plus there is good walking from the door. Michael from Sunrise Beach, Queensland (11 July 2014)
What an excellent cottage. Ian & elaine are very good hosts. We had a lovely holiday. Peter from Richmond North Yorkshire (13 June 2014)
Very impressed with coach house and location made for a very enjoyable weeks holiday. Ian & elaine made sure we had everything we needed and were always available if we needed them. Made the wifes birthday to feed graham the lamb and still miss hector the puppy :-) would recommend to anyone. Wayne from Bourne, Lincolnshire (06 June 2014)
Peaceful cottage without being remote. Comfortable and with friendly owners on hand, it is well placed for visiting all kent attractions. Anne from Portsmouth (23 May 2014)
A great place in a great location but it is in need of some tlc. The paintwork is tired and the equipment in need of replacement\refurbishment. For example the microwave floor was rusty with the turntable trying to move through a layer of rust - we feared it would soon be giving way completely. The plumbing is very noisy and the thermostat on the central heating inoperable making it extremely hot by the end of the evening. We had to remember to turn the radiator off in the bedroom early on to keep the temperature tolerable. It doesn't need much to make it very desirable again but it needs it now. The owners were very friendly and welcoming - such a shame a lack of maintenance maintenance let down the cottage. Peter from Norwich (14 April 2014)
We were made very welcome - bottle of wine+ fresh eggs and garden produce for us on arrival - very private with its own walled garden - 5ft bed very comfortable possibly the best bed we have slept in on holiday - lots to do in the area and coast within easy reach - day trip to france on ferry very enjoyable - hope to return for another visit. Lynne from Chesterfield (11 October 2013)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious & well equipped cottage, a perfect base for exploring kent. Enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year. Roger from Warwickshire (12 Jul 2013)

Peace and quiet, rural, great hosts, nothing was too much trouble, without question one of the best. Customer 33 from New Milton (28 September 2012)
Very peaceful. Beautiful surroundings set in the owners 2 1/2 acres. Wonderful firendly owners. The property had everything we required and more. (excellent halogen hob!) Andrea from Sheffield (31 August 2012)
This was a lovely cottage in a great, central location (ideal for exploring Kent). Also, the owners were very friendly (as were their 2 wonderful dogs!) & helpful. Customer 35 (June 2012)
The cottage is set within the garden of the owners’ house, with a field at the back which contains their hens and sheep. It is very secluded there and very quiet, although a small local shop and post office is only a mile away. The cottage is more spacious than any I have encountered before. Customer 36 (June 2012)
A pleasant, value for money property with a warm welcome from the friendly and pleasant owners. Private garden and conservatory and we were allowed to enjy a very peaceful and relaxing break. We would not hesitate to return again to this property. Customer 37 (May 2012)
We have just returned from a FANTASTIC holiday at the ’The Coach House’ and we just had to let you know what a perfect place this is. My wife and I wanted a peaceful holiday, and without a doubt we found the ideal location. the owners greeted us on arrival with a tour of the cottage and a bottle of wine. They introduced us to their lovely dogs and also some very friendly Soay sheep and chickens, that not only kept us amused for two weeks also kept us in lovely fresh eggs. Thanks again to them for everything they did for us, and for supplying probably the best September weather we have ever had. We cant praise their cottage and hospitality enough and would not hesitate recommending or returning in (I hope), the not to distant future. Customer 38 (September 2011)
The Coach House is a top-wuality conversion in an idyllic setting - it’s own private garden set within the owrner’s 4-acre garden, which you are free to wander round. A beautiful spot for a quiet holiday, and conveniently placed for all the major points of interest in Kent. Customer 39 (August 2011)
A comfortable, light and airy property. There are 2 outside dogs, but they are very friendly. The owners are friendly and helpful. We would go there again if we want another holiday in Kent at some time. Customer 40 (June 2011)
This cottage is quiet and comfortable, in it’s own walled garden with patio doors and conservatory - very private. The owners are very friendly, but not intrusive. The cottage is in the large grounds of the owners house, and they are happy for you to walk around their garden, with permission. Lovely. Customer 41 (May 2011)
