Beautiful cottage in a quiet setting but very near to local attractions. Claire from Chigwell (16 June 2017)
It was great for four couples. Having our own ensuite was great rather than having to share or walk a corridor. The kitchen was well equipped although we did very little food preparation in it. The small quibble we had was the tv, how to get it to work and the rather low easy chairs. The views around were wonderful even in the rain, sadly we didnt have a chance to enjoy the garden. But we did enjoy our holiday in a lovely part of dorset. Beaminster is the nearest town and has everything you need. The admiral hood is a great pub for food. Our hosts were invisible but extremely helpful when our car needed brakes repaired. Last but not least was the lovely dorset apple cake and the milk etc provided for that first cup of tea. Thank you very much. Ken from Peacehaven (09 June 2017)
As a party of two elderly couples this property was perfect, except that the chairs and settees in the living room were too low (but that is because at our age we struggle to get out!). if eight people were staying there wouldn't be enough chairs in the living room. the dinner plates are too large to fit into the dishwasher which means that you either don't use them or have to wash them by hand. there were no toilet brushes in the bathrooms, which cold be addressed in the future. . despite what was said with a little bit of tweaking here and there we had a fabulous week. the owner, who lives in a nearby property was very helpful and the welcome pack was very "welcome"! the apple cake was fantastic. . . if we were to wish to visit that part of the country again we would have no hesitation in booking hideaway cottage again. Susanne from Hornchurch (26 May 2017)
We would definitely stay at hideaway again. The owners were lovely and very helpful. They even provided firewood in may as we were finding the uk a bit chilly having arrived from australia! there was a delicious dorset apple cake awaiting us on arrival which set the holiday off to a delightful start. Having an ensuite for every room was incredibly useful and meant that everyone was ready for the day without having to wait for the use of a shared bathroom. The beds were very comfy and the rooms spacious. The communal rooms were cleverly designed so that you could close them off for cosiness and open them up for an easy flow through the whole of the downstairs. It was both intimate and spacious. All in all a wonderful place to stay. The only suggestion would be to review the size of the bath towels.. they weren't very generous and didn't lend themselves to indulgently wrapping yourself up after having a bath/shower. Would highly recommend this stunning cottage which is situated in a lovely location and close to amenities. Neil from Worcestershire (21 April 2017)
Lovely week spent in this well equipped and modern holiday home. the 4 ensuite bathrooms were a great asset to our multi-family group. a really good homemade dorset apple cake awaited our arrival which a very nice touch. thank you! Customer 6 from North Devon (31 March 2017)
Loved every minute georgeous cottage lovely setting owners very lovely couple definitely stay again Beverley from Fareham (24 March 2017)
A perfect base for a family get together, spacious accommodation and with all rooms en suite privacy for everyone. Owner provides home baked cake plus tea, coffee, milk and sugar which was lovely on arrival and although they lived close by we were left alone but could have contacted them if we had needed to. Altogether excellent. Allen from Cambridgeshire (10 March 2017)
Excellent location, great size house. Plenty to do in the area with a local shop about half an hour away. We had cake and milk left for us which was nice, and there was tea coffee and sugar too. . hideaway cottage is perfect for a large group to share because there is plenty of room. Kate from London (06 January 2017)
We had a great week in the cottage. It was perfect for us. We appreciated the en-suite bathrooms. The owner was very helpfull and we loved her dorset apple cake - homemade - that was waiting for us on arrival. I think it is very likely that we will book again next year. Christine from Byfleet, Surrey (14 October 2016)
Hideaway cottage is a lovely, well equipped cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ideally located for our walking holiday with local walks and the stunning dorset coast closeby. Wendy from Wolverhampton (30 September 2016)
Wonderful cottage built to excellent standard. Sleeping/en suite accommodation excellent. One major niggle was that for the price paid we would expect to find drinking vessels other than just chunky black mugs! cups and saucers should be provided as not everyone enjoys drinking out of mugs. Also, the springs on the dining room chairs could do with replacing as you sink down on them at the table! I hate to criticise such a lovely cottage but it is the little things that you remember! otherwise one of the best cottages we have stayed in and would certainly recommend it. Sandra from Harvington, Evesham (16 September 2016)
This is an excellent property. Modern and bright. It could not have been cleaner. Location superb. Lovely views. Highly recommended. Stefan from Hinckley (09 September 2016)
Wonderful! Barbara from St Neots (02 September 2016)
Excellent cottage. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Very spacious and well designed. Ideal for us, a party of three generations. Only slight quibbles, frying pans a bit small for six adults and king sized beds would be an improvement. Joan from Benfleet (26 August 2016)
Very comfortable house in peaceful location. Diane from Midlands (05 August 2016)
A lovely place to stay, a little bit further from the coast and the nearest pub/restaurant than i'd like but still a nice location. Graham from Formby (17 June 2016)
Enjoyable visit. Owner very friendly to help out on any issues that arise. Went with my daughter and her family so party comprised 4 adults and 3 young children. Only issue is sandy beaches are a good drive away, although there are a number of pebble beaches nearby. Chris from Reading (03 June 2016)
A lovely welcome from paula, and thank you for the milk etc and the homemade dorset apple cake. Paula and simon were so helpful with information about the local area. it was a joy returning to hideaway each day. the cottage is certainly well equipped and very comfortable, in a lovely setting with wonderful views. Robin, gay & cathy Robin from London (22 April 2016)
We loved hideaway cottage, one of the best houses we have stayed in - thoroughly recommend it for family groups. It was warm, spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. Everyone enjoyed their stay! Joanna from London (08 April 2016)
A really comfortable and spacious cottage for 8 people and dog ages ranging from 6 to 71, to celebrate my 70th birthday. Lovely views from cottage. . very good facilities. Very good utility room esp. For drying wet clothes. . great walking straight from the door even in the muddiest conditions. Splendid fossil hunting and fascinating beaches nearby. Frances from Church Stretton (19 February 2016)
This cottage was more than ideal for our family new year get together. All of us had an ensuite, cleanliness was the best we've had and it was ideal for our puppy too. Very well equipped with everything we could need. If we could have changed anything we would have liked at least one king size bed! we are a family of large people with two of our men being over 6ft tall and both found the foot boards on the beds a little uncomfortable!. a brilliant holiday in lovely place in a fabulous home from home! lovely helpful owners next door who were very helpful and even welcomed us with a much appreciated and very delicious home made dorset apple cake. Jen from Christchurch (04 January 2016)
Ideal for large family gatherings ,well equiped with plenty of room for the children and adults alike. Kenneth from Moreton In Marsh (30 October 2015)
Beautiful house with ample rooms. Kitchen well equipped and the whole house cosy and warm. Lots of lovely walks nearby and outside seating if weather had been warmer. Kathy from Fleet (16 October 2015)
Wonderful, very well equipped, clean cottage, lovely spacious rooms. We had four generations together on our family holiday and it was perfect for us, we all really felt at home and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings and good location for trips out and plenty of walks nearby Sharon from Dunstable (02 October 2015)
Lovely roomy, well designed cottage in a very pleasant location. Helpful and very friendly owners welcomed us with a dorset apple cake. Norman from Petts Wood (25 September 2015)
Excellent cottage all round, beautifully maintained, would definitely go again, good facilities for less able guests in downstairs bedroom. Pauline from Spalding, Lincolnshire. (11 September 2015)
Superb cottage set in a great location! couldn't ask for any more! James from Stowmarket (07 August 2015)
We had a great holiday mainly because the cottage was superb. The cottage was well equipped and I don't think we wanted for anything. There were plenty of places to eat locally and located well for walking. Loads of footpaths. ideally placed for holiday locations in dorset. Pamela from Berkhamsted (26 June 2015)
A splendid cottage in a lovely & quiet location. Easy access to some very pleasant places of interest. Thanks for a great time Graham from Rainham (19 June 2015)
Excellent house, warm welcome. well positioned for country and cliff walks as well as visiting gardens and other attractions. Ian from Bury St Edmunds (05 June 2015)
The house is very well equipped and very comfortable. Only slight issue is that all the beds have a foot board - not always popular with those who are 6ft plus!! also, we are a well bought up bunch and found the lack of table mats an issue as we didn't want to mark the table!. otherwise no complaints - we had a lovely week Anne from Cambridgeshire (29 May 2015)
Really excellent holiday home, extremely spacious, fabulous kitchen with all necessary equipment, huge very comfortable lounge and extremely spacious comfortable bedrooms. Very good downstairs facilities for a member of the party with mobility difficulties. We had four generations of our family all on holiday together and the house met all of our needs. Spotlessly clean throughout. Lovely hosts, really helpful and they made us a delicious cake! Carolyn from Newport (15 May 2015)
A beautifully appointed house perfect for the 8 of us giving us great communal areas as well as quiet space when needed. There was nothing missing, all needs catered for. The location is great with plenty to do just a walk or short ride away. Paula and simon, the owners were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Marilyn from Mid Wales (10 April 2015)
Hideaway cottage was well located for our holiday which included 2 families consisting of four adults and five children under six years old. the cottage was stunning - warm, spacious, clean and beautifully designed. The kitchen, utility room, dining room and lounge were all of a good size, clean and well equipped making cooking for our families easy (plenty of pans, trays, crockery and cutlery). . the owners were very welcoming even baking us a cake which they gave us on arrival, a nice touch and it was yummy!. . our three year old was so upset on the way home as he loved our holiday home so much! we would definitely recommend hideaway cottage to families including those with young children. Clare from London (21 February 2015)
A very warm, comfortable and well equipped cottage cottage. We would definitely visit again. Michael from Haslemere, Surrey (13 February 2015)
Lovely cottage, with a very high standard of decoration/specification, in a good location. Highly recommended! Nick from Wirral (26 September 2014)
Had a wonderful holiday. Great location. Lovely walks & countryside & close to the coast. Accommodation excellent. Slight issue with access for disabled. Would recommend. Lesley from Torquay (19 September 2014)
This is the fifth year our family have rented a cottage together and this one was the best appointed and well decorated we have stayed in. plenty of room for 7 adults and the fact that each bedroom had its own en suite was a bonus . we had a lovely relaxing and stressless week. the location is good with easy access to beaminster. The dorset apple cake baked as a welcome by the owner was delicious. I find it hard to criticise. The only small thing was that we had a dog with us and she found it possible to get out of the garden. This will be rectified with a fence once house is completed Debra from Ivybridge (12 September 2014)
Perfect! possibly the best house we have rented from ecc, of which there have been many over the years. Great location if you like walking. Anne from York (05 September 2014)
Lovely holiday in a very comfortable cottage, lovely location and plenty to do in the local area Sarah from Surrey (29 August 2014)
Beautiful house in a good location. Very comfortable and we had a lovely holiday. Owners made us feel welcome. The only downside was the garden very big but we were out every day so it didn't matter too much. Jj from Bedfordshire (15 August 2014)
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location at the foot of the wessex ridge way. Confirmed Purchaser (16 May 2014)
