Had a superb stay location was fantastic. Customer 1 from Bournemouth (09 July 2017)
The house is very dilapidated and tired. There is plaster flaking off most walls & mould in most places. There was no hot water on demand and the shower was orange and black from mould. Daniels from Gloucester (17 April 2017)
Pleasant location/good views. House needs a lot of tlc, peeling paint, mouldy shower, curtain rails hanging out of wall and many floorboards having substantial give as you walk around the house. Also cold water tap in bath did not work. House was plenty big enough and plenty of internal space for kids to play. Mark from Fareham (15 April 2017)
Good holiday place is a little run down needs a bit of work Confirmed Guest (13 March 2017)
Great place for a lot of people. Clean and well equipped. Access a bit difficult but worth it for the sea views. Bede from Castle Cary (26 February 2017)
We had a wonderful time, views were fantastic. Lovely house but in need of some repairs as there were cracks in some of the walls & some damp. Also we could only use the downstairs shower because we couldn't get cold water in the upstairs bath & the water pressure upstairs was really slow. It could do with overall modernization but it is a beautiful house in a beautiful location & with a bit of tlc would be amazing. Phillips from Aldershot (18 February 2017)
Everyone had a great time at hadleigh house. Loads of room, great sea view and straight onto the beach where you can get into the centre within minutes. Lee from Derby (28 December 2016)
The house is in an amazing location, cannot be beaten for stunning views. in my opinion the house is a little tired, in need of a few improvements which if implemented, I would be happy to stay again. the shower room downstairs, the unit could be serviced as there is a noticeable leak from the back of the unit, and quite a lot of mold build-up within the shower. the security could do with some improvement, we felt it necessary to put chairs up against the inner back door and front door. there is quite a strong smell of damp, and we noticed most of the downstairs windows were painted shut and unable to open. the owner is a very nice lady. Michelle from Buckinghamshire (08 October 2016)
We loved the house and the location but unfortunately we felt the cleanliness of the house was poor. there was an awful smell on the stair carpet midway (outside the bathroom) which we believe could have been removed with professional cleaning, also as you enter the kitchen and the shower room. . coming down the steps to the house from the main road in the evening can be quite dangerous as there is no lighting. . in the bathroom downstairs, the electric shower was also dangerous and water was pouring from the back of the unit near the electrics and there was a double socket in there for the washing machine. . the security of the house is also questionable as there is only one lock on the front door (easily broken into) and the back door didn't lock although there was a chain on the conservatory doors but not a lock. . one of the double beds was in poor condition, possibly broken in the middle and the settee in the lounge was also visibly broken at the end. . however, this didn't spoil our holiday as the house does have plenty of room and easily accommodates 10 people and the views from the house are lovely. we all felt that a small amount of money spent on the house and security would be well worth it and we would consider renting again if all those problems were dealt with. Noelle from Derbyshire (03 September 2016)
A lovely property with amazing views. Samm from Cirencester (10 July 2016)
Some decorating needed to be completed, bathroom not yet finished and peeling paintwork but overall good value for money and great location. Confirmed Guest (25 June 2016)
Fantastic location, loved the size and the outside terrace.owner very accommodating. Deborah from Gosport (04 June 2016)
We had a fantastic time, it really met our needs with a group of 10 of us gave us lots of space but also the ability to all come together. . the sea view was brilliant! Aimi from Westbury (22 May 2016)
Beautiful location, very comfortable accommodation, great for family get-togethers! Emily from Truro (21 February 2016)
I just loved our stay in hadleigh house. I don't go on holiday for luxury, I go on holiday to make memories. Hadleigh house is full of character. Yes, there are some areas that could do with a bit of tlc but it certainly didn't ruin our stay. It's to be expected from an old house right on the seafront. . our party was made up of 4 adults and 6 children aged from 2-15 and we all enjoyed playing hide and seek on more than one occasion! . the location is just perfect, you can be on the beach in 2 minutes-great for walking the dogs. . it was a perfect last minute february half term break. We even got some sunshine too. Sophie from Malvern (18 February 2016)
A lovely house in a beautiful location with stunning views. could do with a little tlc but this is just minor and did not detract from our stay at all. considering its size it is lovely and warm and cosy. Just a note if you go out at night take a torch as although there is good outside lighting it does not extend to the porch and the door where you fumble to get the key in the hole. Philip from Loughborough (31 January 2016)
This property is all about location and space and this was our second visit. you never feel cramped staying here as most of the rooms are large with big windows. there are some pleasant sea front walks on your doorstep and plenty of pubs/cafe's in dawlish. unfortunately, the cottage does needs some repairs and is very mush a "work in progress" property - water leaks into the living room and conservatory were experienced (but the owner knows and will repair off-season) and some of the rooms do need a make-over or re-decoration. the living room smells of damp dog but we bought some scented candles and this removed the problem. the only shower is on the ground floor past the kitchen - mildly inconvenient but of course, having stayed before, we knew this - perhaps a power shower in the bathroom would help? Gareth from Wantage (31 October 2015)
We went to there for celebrate our wedding for two days and it was a brilliant place for it. Beautiful seaview with a huge terrace. actually we had sunny days and we could dining outdoor. this house has given more than I expected. Good experience. Csaba from Plymouth (27 September 2015)
Lovely house with beautiful views parking a little difficult Gill (21 September 2015)
The location and views make this property. its a great base to explore places nearby like torquay. its a lovely big old house, but is desperate for some tlc! it didn't ruin our holiday, but if you want a bit of luxury unfortunately you're not going to get it here! . . front bed looks oddly held up by a crate! third double bed very uncomfortable, some floorboards missing, which I would class as dangerous! cooker knob broken making it very difficult to cook! lots of flaking plaster coming off the walls. I know its not a five star property but these are basic things you shouldn't find. Lindsey from Lincolnshire (22 August 2015)
Location is what you're paying for. House was plenty big enough to accommodate 10 and 2 small dogs, beautiful views out to sea but the house has been weathered by the storms, watch out for the hole in the hallway under the carpet. Sadly lacking enough pans/equipment in the kitchen to cook for 10 - recommend the chinese just up the road! easy to jump on the train to visit torquay and other locations. Confirmed Guest (01 August 2015)
Garden needs securing for dogs and a little work just tidying it up. An extra shower would be great. And the shower room downstairs needs a lick of paint. Confirmed Guest (18 July 2015)
Lovely house, beautiful location. Vicki from Birmingham (19 April 2015)
It was wonderful, and the owner was very nice and really accommodating with our uncertain arrival/departure times. thank you very much. Chris from London (29 March 2015)
Location location location is fabulous . however that unfortunately is the only positive. We like dogs one of us has a dog but the smell of dogs and the quantities of dog hairs on the carpets and floors was unbelievable. The bathroom facilities are not enough for 9 people 1 shower and a very slow filling bath. Not enough kitchen equipment for cooking for 9 and no wifi. Having said all that we had a good week thanks to the benefit of a few days of good weather out on the beach and walking up the coast path. Katie from Telford (21 February 2015)
This place was beautiful! the location was outstanding. There is still a lot of work to do in tge decorating but the owners have done such a brilliant job so far and it's perfect for a short getaway. We all had such an awesome time! Rosie from Dorset (09 February 2015)
Warm, comfortable and spacious with amazing views. 9 of us spent a very happy christmas in this house. Barbara from London (27 December 2014)
We had a lovely time. Perfect fir us and our dogs. House was large and well equipt - just needed a bigger toaster!!!! bedrooms were large and lovely views of the sea with easy access. Wifi access was non existent which was a shame. Overall we really enjoyed it and would go again. Ps the chinese up the road was one of the best we have had. Susan (01 November 2014)
Lovely location right on the sea with the railway below. Short walks into dawlish town one way and dawlish warren the other. You can set out further on the costal path and we had picturesque walk over to teignmouth (4 miles but quite steep in places!). the house accommodated 7 adults, 3 children and two dogs with ease. The large lounge meant we could relax together and the huge dining room with big table meant great family meals. The house isn't show home perfect but it can best be summed up by saying we all felt like it was home when we arrived. Clive from Sandhurst (06 October 2014)
Lovely location and cottage quite spacious too. Gareth from Oxfordshire (20 September 2014)
Wonderful house and absolutely fantastic location. One shower was a bit of a problem with 10 people and the low wall was definetly a problem with a young dog! we would definelty go back again. Diane from Stockport (16 August 2014)
