Flax cottage is in a charming location "far from the madding crowds" to qote its author. It is totally equipped with quality equipment. Every thing is there as if you were living in your permanent home. Lots of good taste and attention to detail. . only one problem to mention is that the mattresses for the twin (single) bedroom were very uncomfortable. John from France (11 August 2017)
Excellent place to stay. Everything we needed but you expect that for the cost of cottage. Helpful to know about basic food being provided prior to arrival - save us from looking for a local store after a long journey. Overall excellent facilities. Confirmed Guest (12 August 2016)
The cottage was excellent however the 2 mile journey down a single track road to get to it was a nightmare as the passing bays were few and far between. Brenda from Lincolnshire (09 October 2015)
It you can't stand creaking floorboards then stay away!. . very secluded location on a mini, very high quality, development. . approach roads to village very narrow with limited passing places Terry from Southampton (18 September 2015)
A lovely warm and comfortable cottage in a pretty location. Dorset is a beautiful county and the cottage is very close to beaminster which is a lovely market town with supermarket and restaurants. The only reason I don't give it full marks is due to the lack of mobile signal but wifi works really well. Cottage has all the equipment you need and there is a pub just up the road. Sue from Derby (22 May 2015)
You could tell that the cottage had not been used since the year before . the dishwasher didn't work properly, we had to buy salt etc for it and still it didn't clean the items, the kettle was disgusting, and the kitchen overall was not as clean as it could have been . we have used cottages 4 you for over 10 years and always booked gold properties however this was a luxury cottage and we expected more Confirmed Guest (15 May 2015)
Lovely house in a great location with walks on the doorstep. Well equipped and spacious Raphael from Leeds (09 April 2015)
Fabulous cottage, a home from home. A great rural location, near a lovely local pub and then not far from coastal attractions Duncan from Newbury (13 March 2015)
A really nice place to stay. Well equipped. Very quiet. Lots of places to visit nearby. Slight niggles. One small bar of soap for potentially six people, one black bag for a week, no washing up liquid. The cleaners need to clean out some of the drawers in the kitchen they need to replace light bulbs that have blown. a new washing up bowl is required as the existing one is cracked and does not look very clean. Get these little things right and one has perfection. Ronnie from Northwood (19 September 2014)
Spacious, comfortable and peaceful, this cottage provided everything we hoped for. Enclosed garden ideal for the toddler, lovely country walks from the door pleased everyone. Nearby unspoilt pub with food was a great asset as a drive along very narrow lanes is necessary to access everywhere else. Disconcerting that our repeated attempts to notify the caretaker of time of arrival led us eventually to contact cottage4you office, who told us caretaker was on holiday! on arrival, a welcome card gave us caretaker's number for emergencies when we knew he/she was actually away. Fortunately, we were able to deal with minor problem of missing light bulb in bedside lamp ourselves and nothing else went wrong. But thank you for the bottle of wine! we all had a great holiday. Rachel from Felixstowe (12 September 2014)
Lovely comfortable cottage Nicola from London (15 August 2014)
Flax cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped with a lovely garden. Many cottages are not as clean as i'd like but we all would love to stay here again even our 'hard to please' teenagers. Sue from Shrewsbury (25 July 2014)
Everything was just perfect. my reason for 9 out of 10 for equipment is just a minor thing..no toast rack. Sue from Rainham Kent (27 June 2014)
Kitchen and bathroom taps all needed repairs. New washers, gland nut adjustment etc. Neil from Abergavenny (16 May 2014)
Fabulous holiday, fabulous cottage, wonderful place. Highly recommend it. Clive from Thetford (30 August 2013)
