While we love our holidays at your cottage we have to say that friday to friday is not good for travelling, as the roads are so busy and we had a difficult journey down. The hold-ups were bad and we did not arrive at the cottage till around 5pm on the day, missing two hours that could have been spent there. Could you not go back to saturday bookings in the future as we are sure other people have had similar problems travelling.
John And Rosemary from Dumfries And Galloway. Scotland (21 July 2017)

Our second visit to dovers cottage. The cottage is in a perfect rural setting, yet is close enough to walk to the village of east meon. . excellent pub in the village serving good food at reasonable prices and they allow dogs. The cottage itself is clean, comfortable and well equipped, with two large sofas and an extremely comfortable bed.
Valerie from Cirencester (14 July 2017)

Absolutely brilliant. . few new bits could do with replacing. Apart from that wonderful!!!
Peter from Maidstone (26 May 2017)

It is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location which is lovely and quiet and plenty of wildlife to sit and watch with only a 10 minute walk to the picturesque village with two very good pubs and a shop. Also perfect location as you are within half an hour of lots of places to visit, including portsmouth's famous dockyard.
David (19 May 2017)

This was our third visit to drover's cottage and we loved it every bit as much as the first. The cottage was surrounded by a sea of golden rape seed and looked an absolute picture, nestled into the surrounding countryside. It was warm and comfortable and thoughtfully epuipped.
Robyn from Sydney (21 April 2017)

A surprisingly roomy cottage in a secluded location. Very well equipped. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
Ronald (14 April 2017)

We like the peace of the place.
Hayes from Lincoln (31 March 2017)

I love the location and the views from this cottage. Its warm, cosy and comfortable inside. Its good to be able to walk directly from the cottage up into the downs.
Jill from Bognor Regis (24 March 2017)

Perfect location for our 4 day break. Everything we needed in the cottage. Surroundings were perfect. Piece and quite just the birds twittering. Plenty of space for our dog, in the garden. Loved it will return.
Customer 9 from Thornbury (09 March 2017)

Was a lovely break. Home from home. Great location for great walks. Can't wait to go again

Steve from Ascot (28 December 2016)

A lovely cottage - ideal location for us and the dog.
Jim from Maryport (16 December 2016)

Glorious place for getting away from it all.
Jane from Devon (25 November 2016)

We have now been 8 times and will be returning as often as we can. I think that says it all. An idyllic setting, just wish it was available more often. A-ma-zing.
Kenneth from Chichester (03 November 2016)

We had lovely weather and a relaxing and rejuvenating break. So peaceful.
Barbara from Reading (16 September 2016)

Perfect location with excellent panoramic views.easy access to tourist attractions.local village offers store and two good pubs. C ottage of very good standard with caring and most helpful owners.
John from Dewsbury (26 August 2016)

Drovers cottage is in my opinion an outstanding cottage. . the location is perfect for a quiet and relaxing holiday. . with amazing views and walks, the village is a 5 minute walk away where you can enjoy excellent food in the choice of two pubs. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. . there are even binoculars provided to view the wildlife in the area. I would definitely recommend this cottage, as soon as we got home I booked this cottage again for next year, can't wait to return
Valerie from Cirencester (29 July 2016)

Fab as always! visited many times and will be back next year.

Lovely little cottage in an outstanding setting
Carole from Woodbridge (01 July 2016)

A lovely cottage set in a beautiful location. Perfect for dog owners as you are well away from traffic and on the doorstep of various beautiful local walks. The local village has two nice pubs for food; dogs are welcomed at "ye olde george". cottage is well equipped and clean. Well placed to visit main hampshire centres.definitely recommended.
David from Lincoln (26 June 2016)

Excellent location, excellent cottage for all the wildlife and nature that you want.
Marilyn from Essex (10 June 2016)

Delightful cottage, in wonderful setting. Will probably go again sometime. The farmer and his wife, were lovely people.
Confirmed Guest (03 June 2016)

This is a super cottage in a ideal quite and peaceful setting with access to walks and within easy reach of of places to visit.
Confirmed Guest (13 May 2016)

Love the cottage and its location is perfect for a very relaxing break. Hired it twice. It enables you to stay home and chill comfortably or get in the car and go to the beach within the hour. Some lovely local walks too. . if had had to change anything? the tap in the kitchen doesn't work well. A shower would be great and the bed a little bigger would be the the icing on the cake. Minor points though.
Joanna from Worcester (22 April 2016)

This was are first time in drovers cottage and hopefully not are last, we concur with every. Previous review. I would like to mention where cottage is situated it is ideal with just a . short ride to some lovely beachers, such as gosport, hayly island and west wittering are. Whippet love it.
Ivan from Ipswich (15 April 2016)

Lovely holiday home in a smashing location. Ideal for a quiet relaxing break away from it all.
Jo from Tonbridge (11 March 2016)

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. We have stayed a lot of cottages, although a lot of them are very good, there is always something missing or doesn't quite fit the distribution given, but drovers cottage was perfect, clean and well equipped. Amazing walks from the front door for us and the dog. There were shops close to hand but also further a field if you wanted more. The welcome tray was much appreciated. They owners make themselves known to you in case you need them and then let you get on with your stay. If you want amazing country views from a quite relaxing cottage then this is the place to be.
Juliette from Windsor Berkshire (04 March 2016)

Lovely cottage in beautiful setting. Feels like being in the middle of nowhere with the convenience of a good village pub nearby. Great fir exploring the south downs.
Karen from Maldon (26 February 2016)

The most relaxing holiday we have ever had,the cottage was everything you could wish for and more.we will certainly be back.the owner came to welcome us and was on hand if we required anything.
Customer 32 from Reading (12 February 2016)

We have stayed at drovers cottage many times over the years. we love the peace and tranquillity of the setting - drive past the farm house and you find yourself at the cottage with complete privacy in it's own quiet grounds. you may be lucky enough to see buzzards flying over head or deer on the field. the cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you will need for your stay. with under floor heating it is always warm and cosy whatever the weather outside. a short walk away their is the local shop and an excellent pub serving good food, and further afield is petersfield; lovely for a walk along the high street and then a coffee. plenty of local walks to follow and you can really get inside the countryside. hope to visit again and again and again ..
Alison from Kent (05 February 2016)

Stunning location for those that truly want to get away from it all, although the village is within easy walking distance. The owners are just lovely, and were really helpful, especially when our car broke down and was towed to the farm for later pick up. This rather disrupted the weekend but it was made easier thanks to the help from the owners who are just up the road at the farm house. . . it's just too bad that we cannot get another long weekend for months as we would love to return in the spring and listen to the birds. It's a simple cottage but is well equipped. It's not very well photographed as we really thought it was on a country road. It's not, and it's location at the end of the remote farm track means total, sublime privacy. A gem!
Jane from London (11 January 2016)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage.
Maureen from Solihull (28 December 2015)

We loved the cottage and it's location.
S Hall (14 December 2015)

Great location
Confirmed Guest (06 November 2015)

This was our 7th visit which I think says it all. When I first found the cottage in the catalogue I could not believe how good it was and wondered where the catch lay. So I drove there one day and found it and was amazed at how remote and peaceful it is. the only thing that stops us going more frequently is finding vacant dates because so many people return again and again. it could d with a new sofa, as the springs are worn out, but that is a small price to pay holiday. Its fan-tas-tic.
Ken from Chichester (30 October 2015)

This was our second holiday at the cottage and although my wife has been unwell for a . few months it was lovely to be at the cottage again. It was so peaceful, just what we. Both needed. We would highly recommend drovers cottage to anybody.
John from Waterlooville (02 October 2015)

It is our home from home. The perfect country holiday
Gerry from Exmoor (25 September 2015)

We have stayed at this property lots of times and love it, but unfortunately as it only has a 4ft 6" bed (double) we cannot stay in it anymore. since my husband has been ill we have only stayed in single beds at home and so not used to such a small bed. we still recommend the place though. the area is great too, such a good base. please could you change beds? weather wasn't good either in july but that's british weather for you. great for our dogs too.
Carol from Kent (31 July 2015)

I only gave it 8/10 for cleanliness as I found prescription tablets on the floor, having a dog or small child I found this quite alarming. Also some of the cutlery and saucepans where not clean, I feel the owner could have been more thorough when checking the property for the next occupant. Other then that it was ideal.
Liz from Kent (24 July 2015)

We stay every year. The thing that keeps bringing us back is the cosiness of the cottage and it's secluded location - an escape from everything including internet and mobile phones! absolutely heavenly! see you next year..
Confirmed Guest (17 July 2015)

Have been going to this cottage for about 8 years for various reasons. The wonderful peaceful location and 2 good pubs depending on what you like. My wife's friends live in the village and only three hours from where we live.easy access to well known tourist places.no internet and to use your mobile you have to walk up the hill but there is a landline.
Howard from South Woodham Ferrers, Essex (10 July 2015)

This is an outstanding five star cottage with fantastic country views! a brilliant place to take a dog, with plenty of places to walk. There is so much wildlife to see and that's just sitting on the patio in the garden, deer, stag, woodpeckers, yellow hammers, robins, pheasant, baby partridge, slow worms and many more! we have been the past 2 years and have already booked again for next year. As a precaution if you do take your dog there can be sheep/lambs in the next field so you have to be aware when there around.
David from Herne Bay (19 June 2015)

More so
Peter from Maidstone (22 May 2015)

A lovely peaceful spot and lots of good walks for the dog.
Confirmed Guest (08 May 2015)

Our stay at drovers cottage was all we had hoped for. The cottage was extremely well appointed and comfortable. It's location is superb and we were able to enjoy magnificent walks across the sussex downs in all directions right from the front door. In the evenings the deer would come down to visit us. We would not hesitate to stay at drovers cottage again.
Dennis from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (10 April 2015)

The drovers cottage is in the most wonderful location with only two other dwellings visible in the far distance, farm land, woods, and hills all around. The views from inside the cottage are lovely and local walks are spectacular. The cottage warm, comfortable and secluded.
Jill from Middleton-On-Sea (03 April 2015)

Idyllic cosy & peaceful well presented cottage. Wonderful countryside surroundings, gorgeous area to explore and in walking distance of a pub that serves great food! highly recommended.
Leanne from Brighton (05 March 2015)

Our second stay at drovers cottage, the water pressure is now completely fine following the work that the owners have had done since our last visit. we love the cottage and its peaceful surroundings and hope to stay again sometime.
Sue from Weymouth (25 January 2015)

The perfect spot for a country holiday which our dog can enjoy as much as we do.
Jane from Devon (28 November 2014)

Been 4 times now the only downside it is so popular just tried to book again for next year and it is nearly full
Julie from Watford (03 November 2014)

We have stayed at this cottage several times and it continues to provide everything you would need for a tranquil holiday in idyllic surroundings.
Audrey from Pinner (24 October 2014)

The perfect country retreat
Gerry from Nr Minehead (26 September 2014)

Everything about this cottage and location was perfect ,so much so we have already booked for next year
David from Gloucester (29 August 2014)

Bigger bed would have been the icing on the cake. Not use to a 4ft6 and most people will feel the same. It is a great place to relax in the mornings and that was a bit hard with the bed being such a tight squeeze.
Joanna from Worcester (08 August 2014)

Ideal location, very private and quiet just what we wanted. will definitely book again, even though our dog got into the field with the sheep and thought they were his friends!
Confirmed Purchaser from Essex (13 June 2014)

That was our 14th visit to drovers and I think that says it all.
Gerry from Timberscombe (06 June 2014)

Fantastic place stunning views couldn't wish for a better holiday retreat! we have already booked for next year!!!!
David from Herne Bay (23 May 2014)

This property is exceptional!!!!!. for us (2) and our well behaved dog we absolutely love the place. . we stayed for a week last year, stayed for a week this year, and booked for 2 weeks for 2015 before we left for this years holiday. I think that shows how much we love the place. Great owners who are helpful but unobtrusive. Long may the let continue.
Peter from Maidstone (09 May 2014)

Wonderful cottage, wonderful setting, been there twice now and definitely going back again!
Steve from Ascot (25 April 2014)

A gem of a place to stay
Confirmed Purchaser from Southampton (18 April 2014)

The best cottage that we have ever been to. Beautiful surroundings and very cosy.
John from Waterlooville (11 April 2014)

Perfect spot for relaxing!
Jane from Winkleigh, Devon (14 March 2014)

What a fantastic place, the owners very welcoming but not intrusive. Would definitely go back again
Jeff from West Sussex (07 March 2014)

Peaceful location with easy access to surrounding attractions.would definitely stay again
John from Lytham (28 February 2014)

Perfect
Julie from Hertfordshire (17 February 2014)

Beautiful, beautiful place, well equipped. but - dreadfully uncomfortable bed, cheap mattress, and pillows that really needed replacing. such a shame, because otherwise it was close to perfection.
Lisa from Aylesbury (09 February 2014)

A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with everything you need for a relaxing stay. the fact that so many people return to this cottage over and over again speaks for itself. we would certainly like to return again in the future. Only downside is the low water pressure which is to be expected really if you want remote.
Sue from Weymouth (26 January 2014)

The cottage was all that we could have asked for but for one thing!. the water pressure in the bathroom was so low it would drive us mad if we wanted to stay longer than a few days.
Leslie from Okehampton (18 December 2013)

A perfect cottage in a perfectly peaceful location.
Dorothy from Brighton (15 December 2013)

We have now been to this cottage six times, when we could find vacancies, and I believe that says it all. the word idyllic seems inadequate to describe it. a true gem!
Kenneth from Chichester (11 November 2013)

Warm ,comfortable and cosy and quiet cottage.the fact that it has so. Many repeat bookings speaks for itself. We will certainly come back. To it again, and have been twice already.
Stuart from Lincoln (08 November 2013)

If you don't mind your own company this cottage is great and has all the equipment you need.
Barbara from Reading (25 October 2013)

Tranquil setting, excellent for the dogs with a large enclosed garden. This was our second visit and would happily book here again
Carl &Amp; Bev from Chesterfield (04 October 2013)

Everything at this cottage that you could possibly need. Great attention to detail and a fantastic location. The best I have stayed in.

Customer 93 (November 2011)

The cottage is outstanding in its beauty and location, stunning like a chocolate box.
Customer 94 (July 2011)

This is the second time we have been to Drovers Cottage, and like before found it so peaceful, restful and wonderful. The surrounding countryside is just heavenly. We took our two dogs and they loved everything, especially the garden, the same as us. Although away from it all you are within walking distance of the two pubs, and a drive away from Petersfield (a lovely village), and of course Winchester with its cathedral. The only thing I would have changed is the weather, but then you can’t change that, Will be going back for a third time soon.
Customer 95 (July 2011)

Have been to this cottage three times and are booked for next year as well. This speaks volumes.
Customer 96 (June 2011)
