Overall satisfactory. Tv not working on arrival. Cooker hob never worked. Ceiling fan never worked. Extractor fan in bathroom never worked. Thick dust on some surfaces. Not safe for dogs when gates open - road outside very busy. £50 for two dogs for two nights a bit steep?. . in spite of this, nice landlady who we know would have been happy to help with the problems - just didn't like to ask and come across as a moaner - especially after initial problems with tv. . only used the cottage as a place to eat an evening meal and sleep. Fast broadband connection but no mobile signal (not a complaint - just in case others need immediate mobile contact). . so - satisfactory - would stay again at a push. Margaret from Tyne And Wear (22 June 2017)
Had an amazing stay at crimson cottage with our dogs. Perfect location for a quiet break also good setting to explore - do need to drive to see everywhere however this wasn't a problem for us. Chrystal from Kettering (02 June 2017)
Beautiful cottage, warm and cosy made a great base for an amazing holiday the bath was amazing Sharon (29 April 2017)
Brilliant cottage had a lovely time there only issue is it's a little bit far away from everything and if you take your dog there's no where to walk without walking on the 60mph roads or jumping in the car. Think this place would be lovely if your just going for a romantic break. Lewis from Leeds (02 April 2017)
Situated on a very busy road with a lot of traffic noise. It is to dangerous to walk from the doorstep. The owner wasn't interested or helpfull when we had a problem with the electricity .had no electricity for 6 hour's with no solution. The cottage was very comfortable and had plenty of equipment. the cottage has a yard to the front, which is a walkway for the other cottages.the nearest village is just a few minutes drive away with some nice walks, however you do have to drive for 40 minutes to go to windermere. Steven from Newcastle (24 March 2017)
Fantastic cottage in great location. Away from the main areas. Only downside is no garden for dogs Stephanie from Barley (18 March 2017)
Lovely little cottage, perfect for a weekend getaway. nicely decorated inside to a high standard. . views directly from the cottage arent that great, but the location makes up for it. Only other negative points are the jacuzzi kept tripping the fuse box and having to pay £10 per night heating susdidence when £20-£30 per week was advertised on the website. Rachel from Manchester (27 February 2017)
Absolutely beautiful cottage. Very quiet. A bit worried about getting in and out of the drive as its almost hidden and some cars do seem to drive around that bend rather fast. Also when using the jacuzzi it tripped the electricity which was rather worrying. We also couldn't figure out how to work the stove. It just kept bleeping at us. Otherwise very clean comfy and romantic. Will definitely recommend and come again. Dawn from Northampton (26 February 2017)
Fantastic cottage extremely comfortable, cosy, peaceful and romantic. Would definitely recommend can not fault it. Michelle from Bury (22 February 2017)
Brilliant cottage loved our stay Richie from Middlesbrough (28 December 2016)
The cottage was just what we wanted, so cosy, clean and comfortable, we didn't want to leave! it was the perfect retreat. The jacuzzi bath was a bonus too. Amanda from Birmingham (02 December 2016)
Lovely cosy cottage, so comfy. Location is excellent and with only a handful of cottages nearby, nice and peaceful on a night. Really can not find fault with it. Bed is so comfy, lovely log burner, jacuzzi amazing. Kitchen more than bug enough. Would recommend this place in a heart beat. The owner is lovely as well. Paul from Hull (10 November 2016)
Beautiful cottage. Highly recommend anyone to stay.. the cottage is so cosy and has great attention to detail. Everything we needed was already catered for. lovely villages close by as well as close to windermere. perfect. Stephanie from Liverpool (03 October 2016)
Cottage was lovely and cosy, bath was lovely too, was a little stuffy in bedroom when you've had fire on and there are no windows to open to let fresh air in, hobs on cooker dont work but electric hobs are provided in cupboard which wasnt too bad, and shower door kept coming off (spoke to owner and she said she would repair this), less than a mile to village but not advisable to walk as roads are really narrow and have fast vehicles travelling on them, village was ok with 3 good pubs a lovely bakery and butchers and also a info centre. Overall was a lovely cottage in a nice area. Peter from Liverpool (09 September 2016)
Fab! Giles from Huddersfield (29 August 2016)
The cottage was well located for the area, we took 2 dogs (daschunds) as the cottage was listed as dog friendly. The property really is quite unsuitable for dogs, the only area to walk the dogs is in the car park area as the road besides the property is very narrow and busy with fast traffic, really you could not take the dogs for a walk from he property which was disappointing . there are many interesting places to visit, and lovely countryside. We found the cottage rather musty, as no facility to have fresh air in bedroom area, although there was a large ceiling fan, and no ventilation in bathroom Sarah from Lincolnshire (08 July 2016)
Had a lovely stay here. Well equipped cottage scenic location. Confirmed Guest (02 May 2016)
Best place we have stayed in the lake district!!! had a great time, the bath was amazing the pub the bc in town is awesome. Location is great and the view out the bedroom is fantastic. This is the perfect place for a romantic get-away! Confirmed Guest (29 April 2016)
Lovely place, a little out of the way for the lake district locations we visited, but was worth the inconvenience Andy from Mansfield (01 April 2016)
Great cottage, great jucuzzi bath. The place was a little dusty, nothing a wipe down won't fix. I think this is because the owner was on holiday, rather than lack of care. 20mins drive to coniston. Tricky to get to the local pub without driving. Lovely, place if you want to be hidden away. Kay from London (19 February 2016)
Absolutely loved our stay here. It's the perfect romantic getaway, so much so we got engaged here. We will definitely stay here again. . a car is needed if you want to stay here and explore the nearby area as reaching here on foot could be tricky. If your looking for a quiet and stylish escape it ticks all the boxes. April from Largs (08 November 2015)
The cottage was satisfactory, clean and well appointed, however, the induction hob did not work . we therefore had to eat at a local pub on the first night, cook in an ajoining property the second night and then had to cook on a small electric appliance provided by the owner on subsequent nights. . we also felt the location at the far south of the lake district was rather remote from the main facilities amd attractions of the area. Donald from Retford (30 October 2015)
Lovely cottage with relaxed and friendly owner. Everything was incredibly clean and felt very homely, which made for a wonderful break Jon from London (09 October 2015)
Lovely cottage in a pretty area. The cottage was very clean and had everything we could have needed (microwave, crockery, oven etc and even the little things like tea bags!) so everything had been thought of. The jacuzzi worked better as just a bath as the jets weren't very effective and the jacuzzi setting itself was noisy. Overall it was very romantic and we would definitely visit again. Ciaran from Rochdale (14 September 2015)
Lovely cottage, the bath is amazing!. . would certainly stay again Kev from St Helens (11 September 2015)
Beautiful property in a peaceful location but central for visiting other areas. . will certainly be staying again. Tina from West Midlands (06 September 2015)
Crimson cottage was one of the best places we have ever stayed and would 100% return. Jasmin from Derby (08 June 2015)
We found cottage cosy and set out lovely. very romantic though you have a fair walk to the nearest pub. Would highly recommend this little jem. Tina from Sudbourne (25 May 2015)
Pleasant little cottage close enough to the major lakes. Lee from Stourbridge (12 April 2015)
Had an amazing weekend away with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Cottage was perfect way to celebrate however I thought it was abit expensive for the 2 days we were there :/ Katie from Crimson Cottage (06 April 2015)
Fantastic cottage, very good facilities, perfect for a romantic getaway. Confirmed Guest (30 March 2015)
Great cottage. The only issue we had was the location. We didn't realise exactly where it was. This was our fault for not researching the area. Stephanie from Blackburn (19 February 2015)
Crimson cottage was fantastic, it was completely spotless and the facilities from the kitchen to the bathroom were second to none!!! we really did not want to leave..fabulous break!! Lisa from Wirral (01 February 2015)
This is a very nice cottage inside. As a pet friendly accommodation it was a bit of a let down that to actually go anywhere with the dog for a walk involved a drive. The property is a mile away from all amenities but it would be too dangerous to walk those country lanes without footpaths. The cottage didn't have an enclosed garden area for the dog either. . on our second night we had a power cut and after informing the owner we were told her son was out so could be an hour before he could look at it. Nearly two hours of sitting in the dark passed before packed our bags (by torch) and went home. The most disappointing thing was the fact that we were just left sat in the dark with nobody even offering extra torches/candles hot drinks. This was customer service at its worst. It was our anniversary so 50% of our break was ruined. We were compensated £40. Lovely cottage but location and hospitality poor! Customer 34 from Manchester (26 January 2015)
Fantastic cottage, short drive to all local amenities. Hannah from Leicester (09 October 2014)
