We had a lovely week at copper beech. The swimming pool was great for keeping the kids entertained when it rained. We booked last minute and I have to say, I would have been put out if we had paid full price. I'm not sure if the house had not been used for a while, or if things had just been missed, but there were cobwebs everywhere. One of the landing windows and back doors was covered in them! . the house could do with a bit of updating, (as a furniture painter I would love to get my hands on this house it has incredible potential to be even better), the carpets and bathroom linos especially. Also the electricity meter didn't recognise £6 that we put in!. having said all of that, the house is in a lovely location, it is incredibly well equipped (christmas here would be wonderful) and very spacious and comfortable. Carly from Stevenage (29 July 2017)
Absolutely stunning property - a real home from home (with an indoor heated pool). outstanding. Lorna from Forest Of Dean (18 February 2017)
Very expensive. extra coins in meter excessive on top of £90 for heating. No welcome pack at all. Coin meter did not always register coins going in. As 5 bathrooms hand soap in each would be nice. A lovely house and pool but extremely expensive. Chris from Swindon (29 October 2016)
Very spacious cottage in nice surroundings and very comfortable and all rooms ensuite very nice indeed Confirmed Guest (17 September 2016)
We had a fantastic time at copper beech, the house is lush, and the pool was a godsend with the kids, only thing it needs is a couple of sun loungers for the garden, we will definitely be going back Julie from Durham (03 September 2016)
We went to copper beech for a family holiday . ages from 4 to 62 . everyone had a very enjoyable and relaxing time . we had plenty of room to spread ourselves out. The pool was used often . you do need a car unless you are keen ramblers. But for us it was perfect . Linda from Waltham Abbey (27 August 2016)
We had a great week in this spacious and comfortable house with large garden surrounded by an orchard. The pool was lovely and we used it every day of our stay. Sam from Abingdon (06 August 2016)
Party of 6, we all really enjoyed the comfortable house, garden and pool. kitchen very well equipped. a handrail at the steps of the pool was the only thing lacking for us. Soo from East Sussex (28 May 2016)
Enjoyed our stay. the accommodation was roomy even for 7 adults. plenty of space in garden with just sheep for neighbours. obviously rather remote, but this is rural dorset, a beautiful county. a local village shop or pub would have been nice. the nearest pub the hare & hound is excellent but quite a hard mile walk mostly uphill, a car recommended. David from Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex (27 June 2015)
Lovely picturesque village but in the middle of no where. the pub is about a 25 min walk, and down lanes so not great with young children. no phone signal and no internet, but that's great if you want to be left alone. . great swimming pool, ideal with children. We'll equipt property with 4 beds all with ensuite facilities. Fantastic grounds backing on to an orchard. Helen from Sonning Common (30 May 2015)
Netherbury is a lovely village though lacking in facilities (no shop or pub). the house is spacious if not very pretty. Jo from London (05 April 2015)
Huge house great to have en suit in each bedroom well equipped pool rather chlorinated nest of tables in lounge would be useful chineese carpet taken up as crease in middle made trip hazard otherwise enjoyed our stay thank you. Peter from Ascot Berkshire (21 February 2015)
Great location and pool available. Plenty of space with en-suites. Carpets cheap with little underlay hence noise travels through the first floor. There is a meter that requires feeding for domestic electricity here (£5 per day ish). kitchen well equipped but elsewhere is cheaply furnished like a student house might be. Cobwebs noticed a bit too frequently.toilet brushes; don't go there. Broadband as advertised, almost non existent. Old, non matching and used bathroom carpet sets. Curtains throughout a disappointment. Location, space, peace and quiet made the holiday. The rest need not have been. Ps this was an upgrade to our booking to suit the owner. Martin from Roberts (27 September 2014)
Lovely cottage in a very quiet pretty village. rooms were lovely, beds comfortable and great to have ensuite in every bedroom. for me it was spoilt by little things. I object to having to pay for electricity on a meter - having to make sure we had £1 coins was irritating. I would rather have an extra £30 put on price. soap in bathrooms would be nice and a towel in the ground floor toilet. thought the stairs were no safe for older people/children Elizabeth from Southampton (13 September 2014)
Overall all ok. Thought that all the notices about breakages being paid for and other similar obs were unnecessary. given the rental cost, the need to feed an electric meter (at a rate we were not informed of) was penny pinching. pool ok but clearly, end of season, and cleanliness of the surround needed attention, Paul from Hertford (30 August 2014)
Really great place to stay. I would recommend is to have wifi installed. I also think it's a good idea to have the garden completely fenced off for the safety of children. Dave from Maidstone (09 August 2014)
We all had a great time at copper beech - lovely peaceful setting, dorset has lots to offer with plenty to see and do for all ages. Margaret from Waterlooville (07 June 2014)
Excellent; already talking about going again next year. Tim from Trowbridge (31 May 2014)
I want to live here Clive from Gloucester (31 March 2014)
Property ok without being outstanding. First property we have stayed in 15 years with this company, without a welcoming pint of milk/tea/coffee etc. First impressions and all that.. Barry from Gravesend (22 February 2014)
Had a great time with all my family parents, children and grandchildren Linda from Watford (30 November 2013)
This was a fantastic venue and I have already recommended it to friends. I do feel it is unfair that the price goes up so considerably in school holidays. We would love to come again, but probably will not be able to afford it while the children are at school. The pool was used everyday and the en-suite was brilliant. Kitchen was amazing and we spent most of the evenings in there scrap booking around the table while the meal was being prepared. Dawn from Winchester (02 November 2013)
Splendid property, great pool, well equipped kitchen Ken from Geddington (19 October 2013)
Fantastic property, highly recommemd! Dave from Maidstone (10 August 2013)
Quiet and private. Very well equipt. Excellent pool for younger children. Rooms really good sizes all with en-suite. Tim from Devizes (06 Jul 2013)
Lovely spacious house, perfect for 2 families to meet up for a holiday, great bedrooms (often hard to find 2 double rooms), plenty of bathrooms, big kitchen & lounge, lovely big garden. booked because of size of house / bedrooms but also because wanted swimming pool. however did not realise would have to walk through garage, then out of garage & up step to pool room. when it was raining & cold this wasn't too good with children, especially as no space in pool room to get changed etc. would be nicer if had toilet & changing cubicle in pool room & bit more space around edges so those not swimming could sit in comfort & not end up soaked by the children! also water quite cold compared to other pools have had in past. did not really look forward to getting in. also was surprised to see man drive into garden one day, park up & go & feed the sheep from within the garden ... would have been nice to have been advised this may happen exspecially as young children could have been running around in garden. was bit of fence missing in garden & old rusty / sharp bit of shed/ outhouse right on land next to it which would have made nasty fall for children. Electricity by £ coin meter quite expensive. Customer 26 from Ipswich (11 May 2013)
Everything you could need is provided for. The swimming is a plus especially if the weather isnt very good Pat from Plumstead, London (03 November 2012)
Swimming pool. Garden. Very spacious Colin from Norwich (25 August 2012)
Plenty of space. and we all loved the swimming pool. Irene from Essex (26 May 2012)
Situated in a very pretty village. There was lots of space in the house and garden. It was a large house and we certainly didn’t feel as though we we were cramped. Having an en suite in every bedroom was very convenient. The swimming pool was enjoyed by everyone - old and young alike! The kitchen was well-equipped and the lounge spacious with comfortable furniture. The garden was pretty with the orchard beyond and great for children. We looked out from the dining room and watched the occasional squirrel! We would have appreciated some maps of the local area in the house for guests to use as we didn’t have any and didn’t want to buy any in case we didn’t visit the area again. Customer 30 (August 2010)
The location was superb and the general standard of the accommodation ws above expectation. Customer 31 (May 2010)
We liked the pool and the number of bathrooms. Bonus was use of the garage and the recycling facilities. Customer 32 (October 2009)
Spacious in good setting. Good location. Modern fittings. Good swimming pool. Customer 33 (October 2009)
The house was extremely comfortable for us. Overall we were very comfortable and did enjoy the swimming pool. Customer 34 (May 2009)
