The bedside does not meet international standards: 135 cm x 190 cm with bedhead and bed base. For a tall person 6' 3" this is definitely a killer argument. On top of this, it was also too low. . in the kitchen – especially in the oven and on the stovetop – was a lot of grease that we had to clean first before we could start cooking. The cottage smelt mouldy and there were no towel rack/rail in the bathroom. Reinhard from Kln (17 June 2017)
Instructions on finding the cottage could have been a lot better, furniture and particularly the bed which for two seniors was far too low. Eric from Swindon Wiltshire (06 May 2017)
Very comfortable and cosy. Lovely conservatory, nice big bathroom with good shower, kitchen well equipped (though didn't cook much!) well situated for visiting lots of places. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Val from Gloucestershire (16 September 2016)
Excellent location for snowdonia. Quiet area only 20 minute walk from barmouth town, for eating out and lovely beach and walks. Andrew from Tamworth (10 September 2016)
Ideal location for barmouth only 1 mile to centre. owner very welcoming. property has undergone recent refurbishment which makes it even more appealing. very peaceful and private. would definitely recommend if you are looking to 'get away from it all!' Laura from Tamworth (02 September 2016)
Very steep drive, I know this is mentioned by the owner, but I would express how steep this is when coming from the beach. We cycled to barmouth a few times and the climb, even broken into two parts is not for the feint hearted. Lois from Clare (07 May 2016)
This is a delightful little cottage, the owner who lives next door is lovely. the cottage is cosy and comfortable with wonderful views to the sea. it is a short way to the end of the promenade in barmouth, but the path is steep in places. overall an excellent retreat, would love to spend a week here. Denise from Wolverhampton (19 October 2015)
I would definitely recommend cedar rest, the only thing I didn't like was the hill up to the cottage from the main street. it is very steep. Other than that, wonderful views, a good location for trips out and barmouth was a lovely little town to visit. Jackie from Coventry (10 October 2015)
Very disappointed. this cottage is dated and tatty, with a very uncomfortable bed and in need of maintenance. the bath panel was detaching from the bath (exposing the duct tape used to try to repair it!), the oven and extraction fan smelled of stale grease, one of the bed slats was broken but simply left on the floor beneath the bed. we left early. Cathy from Torbay (26 September 2015)
A few lights not working in the quite dark kitchen but otherwise a super place to stay and explore the wonderful area. It felt as if you could be in the south of france when you stood on the veranda and looked out across the bay. Brian from Bristol (12 September 2015)
Had a wonderful time loved it there. Peter. from Northwich Cheshire, (05 September 2015)
Superb location on the hillside overlooking the coast, lovely cottage at the end of the property with a private patio and conservatory. Being on a hill side gives you a great outlook, and good exercise walking back from the promenade. Nigel from York (29 August 2015)
This is an excellent small cottage for two people. From the conservatory and the terrace, there are lovely views over the sea, and while it is close to the main road, because it is high above it, there is little traffic noise. The bathroom is very spacious, the bedroom comfortable, and the kitchen, while small and not lavishly equipped, is perfectly adequate. We really enjoyed our weekend there. Trevor from Egham (08 June 2015)
Great cottage for 2 people to enjoy. shame the cedar tree & picket fence around the patio restricted the view of the bay from the conservatory. Harry from Basingstoke (22 May 2015)
Had a lovely relaxing stay. Clean comfortable cottage, conservatory/patio great for leisurley evenings. Owner very welcoming and friendly. Great location with stunning views. Enjoyable short walk to barmouth along promanade. Lovely beach and good selection of shops, bars and cafes. Sandra from Brighouse (16 May 2015)
Beautiful location, fantastic scenery, the property was just what we were looking for. The lady who owns it was delightful. The perfect relaxing weekend. Confirmed Purchaser (23 November 2014)
Location was great, cleanliness of the cottage was not good especially the kitchen. Lights not working, dirty cooker hob, oven, plates and chipped cups. A spring clean wouldn't go a miss to clear old cobwebs and dust. Attention to detail and a little tlc is needed. Things that don't really cost much like light bulbs, toilet roll, tea towels, soap or even a small welcome pack. A better quality fire place with everything working or even a real fire would have given the place a much warmer welcome..such a shame for what is otherwise a really nice cottage.. Eddie from West Midlands (25 October 2014)
Lovely cottage with views over barmouth bay. Patricia from Hove East Sussex (06 September 2014)
Lovely location, will go again Tracey from Stafford (23 August 2014)
A particular feature we enjoyed was the conservatory which was comfortable, warm and well equipped for eating and relaxation. The lounge had all that was needed and the bedroom had ample cupboard space and the bed was comfortable. An unusual feature was the spa bath which, for us, was a novelty. The cottage's unique position and it's wonderful view all added to our enjoyment of the holiday. William from Tenbury Wells (15 August 2014)
Nice restful location, elaine (owner) very helpful/friendly would recommend.......give it a try!!!!!!!!!! Peter from Bury (26 July 2014)
The views from cedar rest were spectacular and the 'pin point' directions made the property easy to locate despite the fact that it was very well hidden from the main road. the welcome was among the warmest we could have expected and nothing was of too much bother to our host. the cottage was well equipped for two and extremely well presented. We would return and happily recommend cedar rest to others. Robert from Newtownabbey (19 July 2014)
Well equipped, the living room and kitchen were very dark and needed a light on all the time, however we used the conservatory instead. Some tlc needed throughout Jill from Manchester (21 April 2014)
Friendly owner. comfortable, cosy, well-equipped accommodation with great outside area - quite private - and wonderful views. look forward to going again. Clarry (29 March 2014)
We loved this holiday. The view was spectacular and the cottage was very comfortable with a great conservatory and also a patio for enjoying the scenery. The owner was very welcoming when we arrived. It was a bit more expensive than usual for us but we thought it was well woth it! Jan from Aylesbury (13 Jul 2013)
The view. The sun lounge. The bath. Philip from Rochdale (22 October 2012)
