Lovely holiday home. Christopher from Hemel Hempstead (01 July 2017)
We were made welcome by our hosts, and they were very helpful. We had a problem with our car, and the help that they gave was above and beyond the call of duty. We are very grateful for the time given up to helping us. . this property is in a wonderful location with spectacular views. the property is very well appointed and comfortable. Despite our problems with the car we enjoyed our week in carringtons barn and plan to return. Lesley from Southsea (10 June 2017)
Our second time here as we so enjoyed the first. The same warm welcome and time for relaxation in stunning surroundings. Walks start from the door and friendly refreshment is available in the village. We will be returning. David from Whitchurch (06 May 2017)
We enjoyed our break in the peak district. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The modern feel to the barn gave it a feeling of luxury. The lighting in the property was amazing and you could relax each evening with a different combination of effects. Sue from Essex (29 April 2017)
Fantastic owners made to feel very welcome great cottage. Lovely area. Nigel from Hitchin (02 April 2017)
Great cottage. The owners were welcoming and happy to help. Excellent location for fell running straight from the door. Chris (31 March 2017)
Holiday cottage was very nice and modern and clean, the owners are very helpful the views are stunning . we had a couple of things that cropped up during our stay. The heating wasn't working properly,we were given extra logs for the fire for free but it was cold in the bed room at night. The boiler and front door could do with separating from the bedroom.more than enough room for a wall as the bedroom is huge there is a draught under the door and the boiler is noisy during the night.this said we were here in march so not an issue during the summer. A great place to stay with everything on your doorstep would go back again perhaps in the summer. Jason from Cressing (24 March 2017)
Fabulous place so hospitable Karen from Lincolnshire (19 March 2017)

My wife and I had a wonderfully peaceful break and I would highly recommend it. David from Northampton (22 January 2017)
This cottage is lovely, the owners are very warm and welcoming. A great location, with walking literally on the doorstep. Amazing to come back to the barn with its log fire, underfloor heating and great jacuzzi bath. We would definitely come and stay again and have recommended to all friends and family. Kate from Nottingham (27 November 2016)
Loved it all - great location- great cottage - excellent 10/10 Angela from Solihull (17 November 2016)
Perfectly situated and wonderful accommodation. Jacqueline from Godmanchester (29 October 2016)
I had been looking at the cottage for over a year. Looking at the pictures on various holiday websites, I wondered if it could be so brilliant. The pictures don't do it justice; it's far better than advertised. You could literally live in this amazing place. You won't want to leave. Just read the various reviews left by others. Steve and caroline make you feel very welcome. . you won't need for anything. Walks straight out the door .. buxton & bakewell just a short drive away, and for those dambuster lovers the derwant dam is close by too. A***** rated!!! Customer 16 from Cambridgeshire (21 October 2016)
The accommodation gave us everything we needed, with added extras. it provided an ideal backdrop to our walking and relaxing. Confirmed Guest (01 October 2016)
We had an excellent week at carringtons barn, the owners were very welcoming and helpful. The barn was very comfortable with everything you needed and finished to a high standard. There are plenty of walks within the local area and plenty of places to visit. The village of edale has two good pubs with great choice of food. Helen from Kettering (02 July 2016)
Beautiful barn in beautiful area. Welcoming and friendly hosts. Confirmed Guest from England (15 May 2016)
This was a superb cottage in terms of facilities, cleanliness, location and helpfulness of the owners. it is a most attractive barn conversion in an amazingly beautiful location. the nearby train station (about 1 mile) makes this a practical location for a holiday without a car. We can't rate the experience too highly, it really was a very special place and stay. John from Twickenham (13 May 2016)
Fantastic cottage, in a wonderful location! this quirky upside down cottage offers everything you need for a getaway holiday, with stunning views of the surrounding fells. The bedroom is large, but still cosy, and upstairs is just amazing! the mood lighting is unbelievable, allowing so many combinations, and relaxing in the jacuzzi bath after a days walking, is awesome! the views across to the fells, in all directions, help provide ideas for tomorrow's walks. Edale is only a short walk away, either by footpath or road, and offers two great walkers pubs. The owners of the barn, steve and caroline, are so welcoming and informative, but still give you your privacy. Can't wait to return! Dave &Amp; Heather from Nottingham (07 May 2016)
Carringtons barn was wonderful. The photographs do not do it justice. The location is stunning but peaceful yet only a few miles from many of derbyshire's attractions e.g the blue john mines. The owners are helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is well equipped. We found living up-side down good for watching the wildlife but less convenient when we wanted to relax in the garden. Food, drinks, crockery, books etc had to be carried downstairs and then back again. The area is excellent for walks of all lengths and some nice pubs for meals were within easy reach. Highly recommended. Jeannie from Kidderminster (15 April 2016)
Lovely cottage and location. Great walks from the doorstep. Perfect for a relaxing break. Jon from Knutsford (11 April 2016)
Excellent holiday. Mark from Swindon (09 April 2016)
We have had the best honeymoon here. It was a beautiful location, perfect hosts and such a lovely place to enjoy. The price was very reasonable and we are definitely going back. Vicky from Telford (31 March 2016)
Excellent accommodation, friendly and helpful owners Kirsty from Perth (12 March 2016)
Brilliant little cottage, and lovely hosts. . would stay again! David from Coventry (27 February 2016)
Really enjoyed our stay at the barn couldn't of asked for a better base and area. If there was one draw back I would say take your own logs if you can as it worked out at £1 per log ( £10 per bag which had in 9 logs and kindling). on saying that you don't need the log burner on as the barn has more than enough heating and that is included in the price. Mark from Birchington (20 February 2016)
No complaints whatsoever. Lovely accommodation in an ideal position. Warm welcome from the owners. Linda from Rugby (08 February 2016)
Fantastic barn. Beautiful and tasteful throughout. Perfect place to relax surrounded by great view. Charlotte from Eastbourne (25 January 2016)
Another lovely weekend at carrington's barn. A simply fantastic place to stay. Mike from Ruthin (17 January 2016)
Hosts very welcoming and accommodating. Love all the different coloured mood lights in lounge and bathroom. The actual bed was lovely and made by the host but also the mattress and duvet were some of best we have had. The only downside was the sofa that we did not find so comfortable. Maybe a bit of tread could be stuck onto the concrete stairs for added safety. Shirley from Chesterfield (28 December 2015)
Fantastic barn renovation in great location. Nice and peaceful and remote. Cottage interior fantastic with great open plan living space on the first floor. Confirmed Guest from Cottage Interior Fantastic With Great Open Plan Li (14 December 2015)
Excellent place for a relaxing break. Owners very friendly and helpful. William from Northampton (22 November 2015)
Great location , fantastic property . owners very friendly and helpful. Chris from Horsham (06 November 2015)
Great cottage, great stay. Will definatly be staying again. Tracy from Colchester (23 October 2015)
The only reason for not giving more on comfort and equipment was the internet settings meant many sites e.g. Facebook, not available. Ian from Liverpool (19 October 2015)
Had a great holiday here and the barn was beautiful and our hosts were helpful while still allowing us our privacy. Would recommend and would book again. Emma from Leicester (10 October 2015)
A lovely warm welcome from hosts. in an amazing position surrounded by beautiful scenery we just loved it. the barn was perfect in every way, plenty space, clean, comfortable. we could not have wished for more. many lovely walks nearby. we would love to stay again. . thank you. . chris & frances Frances from Bedford (28 September 2015)
Carringtons barn is a wonderful modern relaxing cottage in a perfect location. It has everything you need to feel home from home. The owners allow your privacy but would be on hand to help if needed and are very friendly. . I only gave 9 for equipment as it would be nice to have a radio/mp3 player, nice to listen to with those of us who like to cook our meals, and there were a few light bulbs needed changing. Suzanne from Plymouth (19 September 2015)
Absolutely fantastic hosts, made us feel very welcome & went that extra mile to make our stay relaxing!!. scenery, stunning & could be seen from accommodation & the best thing of all was that you could leave your car there & just walk straight into the mountains!!. only complaint would be is that we both suffer from bad backs & unfortunately, although the furnishings were luxurious, the lovely huge wooden bed had a slight mattress issue, in the way that we kept rolling into the middle!! but other than that I would recommend carringtons barn to anybody for a real relaxing & a slice of luxury!! Paul from Norwich (29 August 2015)
A clean cottage,in a pleasent area. Good walks some could be difficult but was the challenge. . owners very happy to help Maurice from Peterborough (25 July 2015)

Perfect getaway. Fanastic, clean and well equipped cottage set in a stunning scenery. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Can't wait to go back Kelly from Chelmsford (26 February 2015)
Wow, what a fantastic house. Steve and caroline were fantastic hosts, even recommending the best route to take after there had been 12" of snow. The house is incredibly comfortable and everything appears to have been thought of. Couldn't have hoped for a more relaxing weekend. . highly recommended. Mike from Ruthin (01 February 2015)
Excellent, well thought out accommodation and the jacuzzi bath an inspiration. Will definitely try and get back there. The area is superb for walking and the local pub the ramblers inn value for money. Scott from Taunton (30 January 2015)
Beautiful building with beautiful modern features. Hosts make you feel welcome. Kim from Hull (04 January 2015)
Fantastic location, central for all of our needs, peaceful and relaxing. Will be returning again next year. The only fault if i'm honest was the lack of wifi the lack of signal on the mobile phone was most welcome. On the whole a very pleasurable stay. Julie from Westbury (15 November 2014)

Fantastic place. The best holiday cottage we've stayed in. Karl from Southend On Sea (16 August 2014)
Very good quality furniture and equipment, 1st class, very comfortable bed, hosts very obliging Susan from Diss,Norfolk (28 June 2014)
A lovely enjoyable break at carringtons barn. Caroline and steve were the loveliest of hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended for exploring the dark peak area and surroundings. Paul from Wantage (07 June 2014)
Stylish but not always 100% practical, e.g. Mirror in downstairs loo is over the loo not over the sink so you end up brushing your teeth over the loo. Also mirror in upstairs bathroom is split into 3 panels - not very practical when you need to look at yourself e.g. For shaving. Helen from Harrogate (24 May 2014)
Really pleased we stayed there, warm welcome from the owners, then left to it.loads of room and storage space, some really nice touches about the building with the mood lighting and whirlpool bath great after a long walk .great location would defiantly stay again Mark from Sleaford Lincs (03 May 2014)

We were greeted with a friendly welcome from the owner, the cottage is in a stunning location. It's very modern and clean and lived up to expectations. Good amenities, underfloor heating, and lovely unique aspects such as a log fire, mood lighting in the living/dining area, jacuzzi as well as a separate downstairs bathroom. A truly lovely cottage. Very modern interior. Wonderfully designed. Exceeded our expectations in every way. Situated in a great, tranquil and panoramic location, within easy access to tourist favourites. Our thanks to our hosts Caroline and Steve for their attention to detail in making it a super holiday. Customer 84 (May 2012)
A beautifully presented property finished to a very high standard. A real pleasure to come back to after a day out walking. Owners extremely welcoming and approachable. The bathroom is gorgeous and the woodburner in the lounge made for very cosy evenings in. The pictures don’t do it justice. I hope we will return to this little patch of paradise. Customer 85 (April 2012)
Fabulous location for walking. High spec fixtures and fittings. Customer 86 (March 2012)
Beautiful, modern conversion in an old building. Lovely mood lighting, fancy bath with jets, easy to use kitchen and a really comfortable lounge with a wood burner. The cottage is really romantic and I would recommend to anybody for a lovely cosy weekend away, or an activities filled one around Derbyshire! The only reason I said our trip was fair and not excellent was because I was poorly so unable to do the walking and sightseeing planned, (buxton minor injuries were great at the weekend). The owners were so friendly and helpful and gave you your space also, the even waited out for our take away delivery! Would need a car here as fairly secluded but that’s not unusual for this area, really close to most tourist attractions. Lots to see in Castleton and Bakewell and Buxton not too far either. Comfy bed, huge room. A lovely weekend break, we would love to visit again when fit and well! Customer 87 (November 2011)
A fantastic high-tech cottage in a beautiful location. A great base for starting some brilliant mountain walks. The photograghs for the cottage do not do it justice. The owners, Caroline and Steve are so welcoming and friendly. We would really recommend this glorious cottage. Customer 88 (June 2011)
A lovely well furnished cottage in a great location with distant sea views and surrounded by fields. A very warm and helpful welcome from Andrew and Tracy and lots of useful information and tips of where to eat, walks etc. Wood burning stove made cottage cosy and warm. Lambing in progress during visit so great for those wishing to see a busy working farm. Slightly noisy one night when some escaped! Eggs from the chickens an added bonus. Great value and will definitely go back. Customer 89 (March 2011)
Wonderful converted barn - amazing jacuzzi bath - beautiful views and great walks from your door step. Customer 90 (March 2011)
