The bayview cottage is set in a fantastic location and is a great place to stay in. The only downside is that there is only one parking space and no dishwasher but we would stay here again thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay Karen from Stroud Gloucestershire (10 June 2017)
We were very comfortable in this quirky cottage, it had everything we needed for our comfort, a great holiday home Carolyn from Thirsk (06 May 2017)
Pleasant location, slightly quirky with two stairs. Loads of entertainment with dvds, table football etc. Nice holiday. Confirmed Guest from Kettering (25 March 2017)
Great week helped by amazing weather! lovely cottage, owner really helpful. Very low ceilings and doorways downstairs but in a quirky way! xx Cb from Kent (03 September 2016)
We had lovely stay and the children had lots of fun playing table football ,the owner was lovely and very welcoming with flowers and wine nothing was to much trouble, only slight problem my wife found it a bit dark inside cottage but didn't ruin a wonderful holiday . Jason from Birmingham (27 August 2016)
Great location, well equipped and loads of space Gary from Welling (06 August 2016)
We had a lovely stay, owner had thought of everything. Even a vase of flowers and a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. Sharon from St.Albans Herts (04 June 2016)
A lovely character cottage in good location. Really well equipped and felt like a home from home. . sue was very helpful on our arrival and sorted out the parking. . excellent base for us and grown up family with dogs. . only downside was the down stairs shower room, could do with some updating maybe. Samm from Diss, Norfolk (02 April 2016)
The cottage is like a real home from home. It is very quirky with the access to different bedrooms. The kitchen has been the best that we have had to use, and had every thing that you would want in your own kitchen. We enjoyed being able to stay at bayview cottage with our dogs as this made our holiday complete. Linda from Banham (19 September 2015)
Lovely cottage in a perfect location. The only negative was that it was quite dark & damp-we kept the dehumidifier on 24/7 & had to empty it 2-3 times a day Julie from West Bromwich (29 August 2015)
Fantastic spacious cottage. The roof terrace with a view of the sea is perfect for breakfast or sitting with a glass of wine in the evening. Peter from Leicester (08 August 2015)
Excellent all round. made the holiday. Some nice touches - lots of bits and bobs available that you'd normally have to pop. Out and buy on arrival. . flowers and wine make it very welcoming. Mr from Stoke-On-Trent (25 July 2015)
The cottage smelt of stale cigarette smoke, including the bedrooms and bathroom, we had to go out a buy a can of air freshener & scented candles. The bedding was old, the pillows were flat and hard we went to the range at torquay and bought new pillows to just to get a good nights sleep. The shower in the wet room was leaking water under the tiles, so we avoided using this room. Utensils and crockery in the kitchen had to be washed. Dust and cobwebs throughout that had been gathering for quite sometime. Lynn from Slingsby (27 June 2015)
Love this cottage, would stay again definitely. . . great location. This is our 2nd stay at this cottage and would recommend it Julie from Swindon (30 May 2015)
Bayview cottage is delightful! the position is perfect for the beach and the town . the station from where you can travel along the coast is a few hundred yards although you don't hear the trains. . the little town is pleasant with a duck sanctuary to visit and some good eating places and shops. The cottage has everything you could need the upstairs balcony is a real suntrap and the views over the sea are worth the climb up the stairs which are steep. . . sue who owns the cottage is very pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. There was a welcome pack with wine and flowers on the table to greet us which after a long drive was a lovely touch. . . we will certainly be returning. Alva from Kingswinford (16 May 2015)
My husband and I slept in the double bedroom wthe tv in the bay window and we found the bed to be uncomfortable but that aside a great holiday cottage!. even daffodils in avase on the kitcken table and a compimentary bottle of wine, milk, coffee, sugar and teabags. Thank you sue. Sue from Denby Village,Derbyshire (28 March 2015)
Bayview cottage was a beautiful cottage very quirky. Perfect location for the surrounding area Christine from Ashbourne,Derbyshire (01 November 2014)
Bay view cottage offered everything it promised. It's well positioned and although only a couple of hundred yards from dawlish railway station there was little disturbance. It's well equipped and was cosy - we were there in early october - for our party of three adults. able to sleep eight it may be a bit cramped if fully occupied. We were a bit disappointed with dawlish, it didn't offer much this late in the season and some of the pubs had stopped serving food. It did act as a good base to explore further afield, along the coast and inland to dartmoor both by car and rail, the fares being very reasonable. Rob from Kingswinford (11 October 2014)
We had a fantastic holiday at bayview cottage. The location was prefect for us. There is plenty to do in dawlish itself and close to lots of fun days out. The cottage was more then ample for 2 adults and 2 children. As it is clearly stated the stairs are steep but our children are old enough to go up and down them on their own. I would highly recommend bayview cottage and dawlish for a family holiday. Jessica from Whitehill, Bordon (04 October 2014)
An excellent little cottage, very quirky and very clean,. loads of dvd's and films left for you to choose from for the nights in. Ideally located in between exeter and torquay so a perfect place to base yourself and explore. Jason from Somerton (20 September 2014)
Have stayed at bayview cottage twice, and would stay again, however I would suggest the carpets and mattresses do need replacing to improve comfort. Adrian from West Midlands (30 August 2014)
We had a lovely holiday in dawlish and the cottage is close to the beach, shops and restaurants. the parking was a problem as there is only one space for a car so we had to park on the main road which is very busy and spaces weren't always available. We also left on the friday because the dawlish air show was on the saturday and we had been advised that we would find it very difficult to get out of dawlish. Patricia from Braintree (23 August 2014)
Perfectly located next to beach. Our party was comprised of 2 families of 3, each with two year old boys! there was lots to do outside and so much room for everyone inside! we'd all go back again. The house was so well equiped and wondrfully clean, we had lovely neighbours too!! Alexis from Guilford (16 August 2014)
We had a fantastic week at bayview cottage, so much so that we have already booked for the same time next year!. . the cottage is brilliant, a real home from home, just perfect, I don't think we would change anything about it. It took us a while to work out which stairs went to which bedroom!. . the location is great as its right in the centre of dawlish and next to the railway station (didn't hear any noise though). we pretty much parked our car up when we arrived and didn't use it again all week. Julie from Swindon (31 May 2014)
Stayed for a week in april. Lovely place to stay, and in an awesome location in a very idyllic little town, and right next to an incredible coast line! didn't realise there were coast lines like this in england untill I saw it. Would highly recommend both cottage and dawlish. Alex from London (05 April 2014)
Fabulous cottage, great location, helpful and informative owner Lorraine from Sheffield (16 November 2013)
Great cottage , superb location , lovely owner , really quirky with all the staircases watch out for low ceilings but would stay again. Craig from Leicester (26 October 2013)
Lovely cottage, perfect location, fab holiday! Jo from Stroud,Gloucestershire (05 October 2013)
Fantastic, quirky cottage that was very well equipped and in a wonderful location, close to all amenities. We would definitely use again, even the neighbours were friendly and welcoming. Only one small failing and this is just in our experience, our dog could easily escape over the small front wall (would be ok for smaller breeds), and as there is no garden to speak of, we had to walk our dogs every few hours for toileting.this is more a problem with our dog, not the property. Overall, my whole family were very impressed with the cottage and the with all facilites and cleanliness. Jenny from Abbots Langley, Herts (31 August 2013)
We had a problem with the boiler whilst we were there's and the owner was brilliant and got it fixed straight away. Fantastic cottage and location, perfect and just what we were after Joanne from Staffordshire (20 Jul 2013)
Well positioned, quiet area. Plenty of bathrooms so no need for queueing. Mark from Kidsgrove (22 Jun 2013)
Very good location close to all amenities . good service from owner , easy communication with owner too. Nice touch to receive wine &flowers when 1st arrived. Maurice from Kinlet (25 May 2013)
Perfect location being central but very quiet. Lovely homely feel, spacious with absolutely everything you could need. Property owner is very close by. Amanda from Hinckley (23 February 2013)

Quirky cottage, very convenient for station to travel around by train. Kitchen well equipped. Nice clean bed linen and towels. Nice to have tea and coffee and milk etc on arrival. Judith from Maidenhead (11 August 2012)
The location of this property was excellent, right in the centre of dawlish which makes it very easy to get to all the amenities. James from Burton On Trent (30 June 2012)

Lovely clean comfortable cottage in great spot close to all amenities, beach, town centre with all 10 pubs being extremely dog friendly, dogs also allowed on beach all year round. Cottage is beautifully appointed with everything that you could need, a real home from home and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Would totally recommend especially if you want a great place to stay with your dogs. Customer 41 (June 2012)
At first glance the property seemed to be small from the outside, however upon entering we discovered a surpirisingly spacious and quirky cottage. We loved it! Customer 42 (June 2012)
Excellent quirky cottage perfect location. Everything we needed was supplied. Little extras like bottle of wine and flowers were lovely extra touch. Would certainly go back again. Credit to the owner. Customer 43 (May 2012)
Too many to list Ronald from Chatham (21 April 2012)
Bayview Cottage was absolutely brilliant in virtually every way (some quite low ceilings, so a bit of ducking for me at 6 ft). The cottage itself had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay - including enough TV’s for all three of our kids to disappear and watch what they wanted without any arguments. The property was right by the railway station (but we couldn’t hear the trains), so we barely used the car to go to Exeter, Teignmouth, Torquay etc. Dawlish itself is nice; big enough to have good shops and takeaways (and a big Sainsburys nearby), but small enough to be quaint. Good local walks. Good restaurants within striking distance (we didn’t try those in Dawlish itself apart from the Chinese which was pretty good). Great welcome pack (flowers, wine, tea, coffee etc). Plenty of towels. Extremely helpful owner. Customer 45 (April 2012)
We were pleasantly surprised with the cottage and location, it was very clean and nicely decorated. It was a nice touch arriving to find milk, flowers and a bottle of wine - much appreciated. Plenty of places to eat. could try the Exeter inn approx 30 yds away. Customer 46 (April 2012)
A quirky cottage with bags of character. The location was very convenient for everything in Dawlish (beach, railway station, pubs, shops) but tucked away in a cul-de-sac, so it was actually very quiet. We particularly liked this cottage because it had an extra room with a bed in the attic so my adult sons both got a room to themselves (usually in a property that sleeps 6 they have to share, so this was a real plus for them!). Customer 47 (March 2012)
Great, quirky cottage. We arrived for a week by the sea for Christmas, Sue had put up and decorated a Christmas tree for us, left milk, coffee, tea, sugar and a bottle of wine, a lovely touch. The cottage was warm, comfy and clean, and had everything we needed, down to free wifi. We were a range of ages from 73 to 17 and all had a great time and agreed what a lovely property this was. Thank you. Customer 48 (December 2011)
This cottage, ideally situated in the heart of Dawlish, contains everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing holiday. Customer 49 (November 2011)
Cottage was excellent, young children will have hours of fun around the cottage, brilliant location and amenities. Customer 50 (September 2011)
Very warm welcome from owner; clean, charming cottage, full of character in a central location and car would not be necessary. Town/beach very dog friendly. All this enabled an extremely relaxing holiday - would definitely return! Customer 51 (August 2011)
Excellent, quiet location close to shops and station. Good rail connections mean easy to get around without having a car. (PlusBus in Torquay covering Newton Abbott good value.) TV in all bedrooms a hit with teenagers as was the WIFI. Plenty of leaflets on attractions in kitchen drawer. Very welcoming. Customer 52 (July 2011)
Very good, clean and modern. Everything you needed was provided and the owner didn’t bother us. Overall, very nice accomodation and situated right near the beach and town. Customer 53 (September 2010)
It was clean and pleasant. Customer 54 (September 2010)
Location couldn’t be more perfect. Once there no need for car. Although station only yards away (directly in front of beach) no problems with noisy trains. Great train service to Exeter and Torquay direction. Customer 55 (August 2010)
Bayview Cottage was spacious, comfortable & welcoming. It had a quirky cottage feel, was located close to all the amenities but still had a private feel to it. Just lovely. Customer 56 (August 2010)
