Had a great stay in in baltinna east very comfortable with everything that you needed. Situated in a great area with lots to do in the local area and a bit further afield. A great place to stay!
Kimberley from New Holland (11 August 2017)

Brilliant lodge, excellent facilities, everything you need in the kitchen, should you wish to cook! the log burner was perfect to relax infront of after a days walking in the hills. Great that the garden is enclosed for the dog too.
Lyn from Elgin (17 April 2017)

Excellent place to stay, warm, very well equiped, and close to some great countryside.
Roy from Wirral (31 March 2017)

Lovely country cottage hideaway. Decorated beautifully, very fitting to the environment that it is in. Would definitely go back - worth the drive from salisbury!
Charlotte from Salisbury (17 February 2017)

Good location with excellent door step pursuits. The cottage could do with a bigger sofa.
Natasha from Exeter (16 December 2016)

The cottage was well appointed on the whole, a shelf/ shelving in the bathroom for toiletries would have been handy, the office area in the bedroom was a redundant space for us. We would have made use of a bath. The location was excellent, within walking distance to a co-op, hotels serving evening meals and drinks and other restaurants. The description that we were on the monarch the glen estate implied a more rural setting.
Confirmed Guest (30 September 2016)

We really enjoyed our stay in baltinna east. the accommodation is comfortable and very well equipped. in terms of architectural design it is quite a treat! heating is extremely well sorted and I imagine in the depths of winter it would be very cosy and warm. on the warm summer days we experienced, the upstairs gets extremely hot and the available ventilation struggles to cope. however, overall, I would consider that it would be difficult not to be very pleased with this property. watch out for the ornamental dog round the back - it made me jump every time without fail!. . newtonmore is lovely, very quiet and unspoiled with some good hotels and cafes and having easy access to various areas of the cairngorms.
Robert from Leeds (26 August 2016)

Overall, very good, spilt only by uncomfortable chair and sofa.
Confirmed Guest (17 June 2016)

Nice cottage in a good location for a base to explore the cairngorms area. Well fitted out & ample space for the two of us plus our large dog. Only negative for us (and it may not be a negative for many) was it was far too warm even after turning the radiators off. We had some nice dry weather during our week in april so I imagine the heat may be a problem during the summer months if it gets a bit of sunshine.
Anne from Glasgow (22 April 2016)

Comfortable and warm. good selection of books to read. very handy for rail station, shops and walks
Jeff from Midlothian (25 March 2016)

It's the little things that make baltinna east our favourite cottage - the pint of milk in the fridge, the tea bags & sugar that mean you don't have to dash to the shops the minute you arrive, the loo roll that you've forgotten to bring and the logs & kindling for the fire. We first visited in 2008 and the cottage looks just as good now as it did then. It's comfortable, it's got everything you need (unlike some places where you only get 2 plates you can actually have your pie/salad/etc on a plate in the middle of the table as there is plenty of everything). the location is great - secluded enough to be nice and relaxing, but just a walk into the village, or a short drive to the most amazing cake shop (suggested to us in 08 by the caretaker - thank you! it's become a firm favourite). we watched stars at night, ate cake during the day and squeezed in a trip to see polar bears and snow leopards - what more can you say about the location! hopefully we'll be back again!
Julie from Glasgow (07 March 2016)

Great place which would recommend and go back to.
Ayris from Leicester (19 February 2016)

Had a fantastic stay despite bad weather plenty to do in the area
Julie from New Mills (05 February 2016)

Warm, comfortable and well equipped but floors could have done with a good steam cleaning . also property is semi detached and noise from water running next door very apparent
Confirmed Guest (29 January 2016)

Great location, lovely warm cabin. The only thing was I found the sofa uncomfortable but as I have a lazy boy I am not surprised.
Robert from Aberystwyth (18 January 2016)

Fantastic few days in newtonmore.
Henrh from Southport (06 December 2015)

This is an excellent property in a good location. Everything provided was in very good condition and good selection.
Shirley from Norfolk (23 October 2015)

A wonderful cottage and great location
Tina from Alfreton Derby (09 October 2015)

Cracking little cottage. Very clean and tidy. Good base for the local area. Plenty to do around the area.
James from Sheffield (02 October 2015)

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. Would definitely stay again. Well furnished and equipped.
Emily from Scarborough (18 September 2015)

Very warm and cosy cottage, ideally situated in newtonmore, close to shops and excellent restaurant (glen hotel), beautiful surroundings. very helpful staff. Can't recommend it more.
Rudy from Dalbeatie, Kirkcudbrightshire (04 September 2015)

We had a terrific time at newtonmore, the weather was actually better that was forecasted. wonderful walking in the beautiful scottish countryside. Excellent meals from letterbox restaurant and glen hotel. We could not speak more highly of baltinna east. Comfortable, modern, well equipped, clean, welcoming and very cosy. Hope to return again.
Howard from Beverley (26 June 2015)

House good but road noise, blinds on skylights were awful, grubby and made the place dark as it was too difficult to open them, there was a privacy issue as you could see the nearby house through side of blinds so I am sure they would see you especially with a light on. One pillow each with spares in wardrobe with no pillowcases and grubby pillow protectors (no one wants to put their head / face on these). small inexpensive details like these are annoying. No tea towels. Like enclosed garden for dog.
Margaret from Duns (19 June 2015)

Excellent holiday, the cottage was cosy and the right size for 2 people. It had everything we needed. All the amenities were close by and the brochure accurately reflected the accommodation.
Lorraine from North Yorkshire (05 June 2015)

Excellent location and accommodation for a couple.
Norma from St Andrews (29 May 2015)

We loved this property. Very warm and cosy. Well located near an excellent pub - can't say better than that!
Elizabeth from Reading (04 May 2015)

Relaxing holiday. Lots of lovely walks, great to get away from a busy life!. great coffee shop with friendly staff and yummy cakes.
Josephine from Hamilton (17 April 2015)

Great place. Only downside was the toilet being downstairs. Otherwise the place was great.
Elizabeth from Kent (10 April 2015)

Absolutely loved the place everything was perfect. Great location and really cosey.
Sally from York (23 January 2015)

A great base to explore from be it hill climbing bike trails or a gentle drive through the mountains it is ideal , or if you fancy a get away from it all bolt hole then this is the place a few hundred yards from ale and good food with no worries just pop another log on the fire and relax
Stephen from Nottingham (10 October 2014)

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and a great location. Pubs, resturant and supermarket within walking distance. Great for walking and cycling in the local area, even from the doorstep.
Catherine from Market Harborough (05 September 2014)

This is our fourth stay at baltinna east and our sixth visit to newtonmore. The cottage is located at the edge of the village and close to shops, pubs and petrol station as well as having walks on the doorstep. We have always found the drying/utility room a great asset, although this last visit we were blessed with amazing weather so did not need to make so much use of it. The wood burning stove rapidly turns the house into a very cosy place on a chilly evening. The layout works well for a holiday cottage. We liked the recent changes to furniture, especially in the sitting room area. The garden is fully enclosed and therefore safe for a dog to wander about, although the latch on the gate will need replacing soon to be absolutely sure it is secure. There is a very friendly robin who visits the bird table so it is worth buying him some seed from the village post office. It would be nice if a handful of dishwasher tablets could be provided.
Mark from York (29 August 2014)

The most amazing little cottage in a perfect location and great size for 2 people. It has all the comforts you need and all facilities. The wet room was amazing and really helped after a long day walking around the beautiful country side and mountains.
Samantha from Peterborough (08 August 2014)

We really enjoyed our week at baltinna east. The cabin was compact but contained everything you could possibly need. We were blessed with some fantastic weather so made good use of the small garden and sitting area. Ideally located for walks and day trips in the surrounding countryside and villages. Would definitely recommend.
Confirmed Purchaser (01 August 2014)

Excellent accommodation that is very well equipped and comfortable. a great location for all hillwalking and attractions. newtonmore is a nice village with friendly locals and a choice of places to eat. overall a great place to stay and we would be happy to return
Nathalie from Hexham (04 April 2014)

We loved baltinna. Its our second visit.only one tiny criticism. The outside door needs a blind so visitors cannot see directly into the cottage.
Ian from Elgin (03 March 2014)

Loved our stay but definitely have some privacy issues regarding the window blinds to the roof as the house next door had a clear view into the bedroom. The location was idea for aviemore and would definately stay again in the future. The partition door from the main entrance to the lounge could certainly do with some opaque glass fitting to again add to your privacy and one final thought a rug under the beds as the adjoining cottage were rather noisey at times
Robert from Hartlepool (16 February 2014)

Colin from Milngavie (31 January 2014)

I had a great stay in this lovely cottage. Everything was provided and the proximity to aviemore, loch garten and a day trip to inverness meant I didn't have to drive too much. there is so much to do in this area that you are spoilt for choice.
Steven from Dagenham (06 September 2013)

Cosy and comfortable extremley well equip cottage anything and everything you could think of was there. fair size garden (bigger than baltinna west) excellant power shower. location was fantastic minutes walk from, shop, pub and village. plenty of walks nearby and easy access to main roads to explore further, I would definatley stay here again.
Clare from Argyll (15 Jul 2013)

The cottage was quite a contemporary style, very scandanavian.comfortable bed. Easy walking distance from the town. Well equipped. Nice welcoming atmosphere. Clean.
Customer 41 from Prestwick (12 Jul 2013)

Stylish, well equipped, comfortable in a great location for newtonmore. still felt very private and secluded.

Anon from London (12 April 2013)

Comfy, welcoming.
Amanda from Southampton (15 February 2013)

Easy distance from all local attractions for walks etc. Easy to find off a9. So comfy sat by the log burner in the evening. Amazing views of the mountains everywhere. Would definitely go again.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. We will definitely want to return. The cottage is perfect for a couple.
Customer 46 (December 2012)

Felt at home straight away in this warm, welcoming, luxurious cottage. it had everything we needed for a relaxing break in the highlands. the layout of the cottage was brilliant. the bed was really comfy, and the shower lovely. Would recommend to anyone. good location for exploring the highlands too.

Very well equipped for all needs and all weather conditions

Maggie from Watford,Herts (20 April 2012)

Lovely modern luxury property. Was cosy even though it was quite cold outside. The kitchen is well equipped and had tea, coffee, even a pint of milk ! Lovely wet room too. The wee dram was lovely ! We will definitely be back.
Customer 52 (April 2012)

Fantastic property in fantastic location - ideal for a romantic break. Everything you could want supplied including maps of local area plenty of books. Booked a return visit as soon as we got home. The only negative was we should have booked a longer stay.
Customer 53 (March 2012)

A wonderful property in a fantastic part of the world. We went up for the snow sports but the wind closed things down but local walks in the snow made up for things. The house was warm and inviting every time we came back. There was plenty of space to keep outdoor clothes separate from indoor.
Customer 54 (January 2012)

The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable, with pretty much everything you could need. The bathroom is really nicely done out as a wet room with a jet shower, which is a nice touch. The location is ideal - the right end of town for the Glen Hotel which suited us very well (great food, beer & quiz night). Local activities I’d recommend are the Wildcat Trail and the Walk @ The Top (Cairngorm Mountain Railway).
Customer 55 (September 2011)

Great, contemporary accommodation. Good location for day trips around the Highlands or over to Loch Ness.
Customer 56 (August 2011)

Customer 58 (October 2010)

Customer 68 (September 2009)

Property is ideally situated in the area and ideal for a break for 2 people. Lovely place - great holiday.
Customer 69 (September 2009)

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Baltina East, Newton More near Aviemore. What an absolute delight this property is, well equipped, beautifully furnished, perfect location and the the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Just PERFECT. Please pass on our sincere thanks to the owners of the property and the people that take so much care with the preparation for new guests. We have rented several holiday cottages over the years and this has been the best by a country mile.
Customer 70 (August 2009)

The cottage was in an excellent position within the village of Newton More and easily found with the directions given. The Village has a few pubs, local CO-OP, petrol station, post office, railway station and only 15 mins drive from Aviemore, where you can find a large Tesco, good butchers, bakers etc. Newton More does have a cash point. Would recommend the Glen Hotel, 2mins walk away, for excellent well kept real ale, home cooked food at reasonable prices, great land lord and land lady and occasional entertainment, quiz nights, we visited every day for a good pint and the odd meal.. The whole cottage was excellent, well equipped, all matching furniture, good contemporary style, the bedroom had the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, overall the best we have ever stayed in!!!!
Customer 71 (August 2009)

A lovely cosy property with a very abundant supply of maps, walks and other relevant information about things to do. Everything had been well thought about particularly for skiers and walkers, having a dry room etc. Very good location, would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives.
Customer 72 (May 2009)

Absolutely wonderful place. Lovely and exceedingly well equipped. Welcomed with a lovely bottle of local honey whiskey. A lot of thought has been given to the furniture and fittings. Plenty of light and very warm; an ideal base for holidaying in Scotland.
Customer 73 (May 2009)

Location quiet but dog had a great time, lots of good walks etc! Loved the cottage and everything about the holiday!
Customer 74 (March 2009)

The cottage and surrounding countryside provided the exact mix of relaxation and activity that we were looking for.
