Jim & sue, we had a lovely relaxing time in april cottage and would recommend it to anyone. The area has a lot to offer wether you want to go site seeing, cycling, walking or just relaxing Jim from Lancs (07 July 2017)
We had a very enjoyable stay in lovely area with pretty villages and good walks. Plenty of excellent places to eat and visit. Robert from Ormskirk (16 June 2017)
Good points, pretty cottage, well equipped, and great for locality.owners sounded pleasant[on phone]. bad points.dirty.everywhere,tired and dated look of cottage.heating.cold.garden.a bit of a mess. I hate to say this but after 10 years of cottage holidays this was by far the worse, their was dirt every where, dust, sticky surfaces, cobwebs, balls of hair, dirty carpet[bathroom].dirty switches etc.the garden was overgrown with garden equipment everywhere.the curtains were old dirty.some furniture was old and tattered.heating, came on twice a day,it was cold.draught.so beware you have to keep overriding the system.but it dosent take long to warm up. this cottage really needs a good clean and modernising and it would be lovely.we were so disappointed with this cottage.we would not return. Keith from Sudbury (19 May 2017)
Very picturesque cosy cottage. Thomas from Wantage (28 April 2017)

A wonderful cottage for two! extremely well equipped, cosy and comfortable. Nice 10 min walk into new alresford and shops, pubs etc - walk the local millenium trail for a fascinating insight to the locality. Confirmed Guest (11 March 2016)
A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Liz from Tonbridge (30 November 2015)
The cottage was utterly delightful, full of character, quirks and creaks. Though quite close to the road, the noise was barely noticeable. The standard of the equipment was superb throughout, and the back garden a delightful refuge. If there is a small drawback, it's the low ceilings and doorways.. but you soon learn to duck ! . . I would unhesitatingly recommend april cottage for couples: as a romantic getaway, perfect. . the nearby town of new alresford is similarly almost perfect - it even has a steam railway ! Andrew from Farnham, Surrey (23 October 2015)
A beautiful cottage set in a lovely part of hampshire. Unfortunately the bed, or the mattress, was very uncomfortable. Customer 14 (16 October 2015)
We only stayed one night out of the seven we had booked. The bed was so hard I didn't sleep at all. Almost everything needs updating from the cheap 70s tired fittings. We expected better. Couldn't wait to get away. Customer 15 from Suffolk (04 September 2015)
A delightful cottage in a quiet village setting. Helpful owners, we appreciated the vase of flowers and delicious biscuits on arrival. Pleasant garden, we enjoyed sitting in it with a glass of wine until the weather changed. Parking sounded complicated but was actually very straightforward. Paul from Notts (14 August 2015)
Spent a lovely week at april cottage, where the owners have provided everything you could need. . . sorry we didn't get to meet the owners, we obviously missed the knock at the door! we got the thoughtful card though with contact details and instructions for leaving the cottage. . . would reccommend a stay here in this nice little cottage. Jb from Hampshire (07 August 2015)
Had a great time at april cottage. Very comfortable. Nice to be able to walk into the local town. Great restaurants and pubs. Would benefit further by dvd player and wifi (no signal in the area, though some would see this as a distinct advantage) Kerry from Cardiff (27 March 2015)
Wonderful stay in a charming cottage!! Winona from London (19 January 2015)
Charming, beautifully restored, well-equipped cottage in a nice quiet location. We enjoyed this little retreat so much that we hope to return next year. Maggie from Gravesend (10 November 2014)
Well equipped kitchen and a warm sitting room with open fire. Enjoyed our stay but the cobwebs and spidesr could have been removed before our arriva.l Chris from Leigh On Sea. Essex (10 October 2014)
Beautiful cottage in a lovely area Mary from Bristol (22 September 2014)
The cottage was in the perfect location for the places we wanted to see on this holiday. We would not chose to stay here again because we have seen what we wanted to see in this area. (national trust properties etc.) the only down side as the car parking - you could never be sure how close to the property you would be - outside the gate or 50 yards away! Eric from Dewsbury (12 September 2014)
A very restful, comfortable holiday in delightful surroundings. Jack from Ditchling, East Sussex (23 May 2014)
Fantastic is the only word to describe this quaint cottage - a really relaxing break Rachel from Kent (22 March 2014)
A lovely cottage. The fire was roaring all weekend. Alresford is only a short drive away and has some lovely pubs and restaurants. The cottage was lovely and clean. only downside is that the garden is teeny and next doors window look directly over it, literally the garden ends where the cottage next door starts. Donna from Ruislip (14 October 2013)
Mind your head & careful on the stairs ! Ian from Chestfield, Kent (04 October 2013)
Second time we've stayed here. First time was a long weekend five years ago but stayed for a full week this time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Absolutely charming and comfortable little cottage with all mod cons. Very warm and comfy and an ideal choice for a romantic stay for a couple. Lots to see and do in hampshire and some good local walks, especially the one alongside the watercress beds and the river into new alresford which is a charming little town with good amenities, restaurants and pubs. Very hard to find fault with it except that it doesn't have it's own parking place. Stephen from Bolton (27 September 2013)
My holiday was awesome! the cottage is lovely. There is everything you need for a great vacation! Svenja from Langenfeld (06 September 2013)
By location, I refer to the cottage's close proximity to alresford village & nice walks. Lovely quaint cottage, well equipped. However, guests need to be aware that it is situated on quite a busy road, parking can be awkward, mobile phone and internet coverage is poor. Sally from Australia (09 August 2013)
Very clean and comfortable Allan from Stockport (12 Jul 2013)
Picture-postcard cottage with a delightful garden to match. Bevelie from Rugby (21 Jun 2013)
A joy and a privilege to spend a weekend in a sympathetically restored and furnished very old thatched cottage; a romantic venue (four-poster bed) for couples of all ages. Plenty of space and well stocked with all mod-cons including a utility room. Allan from Upminster (13 May 2013)
Delightful cottage.we enjoyed our weekend very much. Carole from Chelmsford (22 April 2013)
We had a very enjoyable stay in this superb little cottage. It had all the charm and unique character we could of hoped for with a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Great fireplace and plenty of thoughtful touches and amenities provided. Highly recommended !! Nicole from London (01 April 2013)
Excellent very cosy and atmospheric cottage. In perfect spot for walking and so close to the very pretty alresford. All amenities provided and all of very good quality. Brian from Cambridge (28 December 2012)
Excellent location. Very pretty cottage. Customer 37 (September 2012)
For us, it was just what we wanted - small town and a quaint cottage. loved the fireplace (it was quite cold while we were there). we have very fond memories!!! Deborah from Monument, Colorado (11 May 2012)
April Cottage was quaint, cosy, and just what we had in mind. The garden was lovely - weather was poor - so it was disappointing to not be able to sit out in the garden. Loved the location and the nearby town of New Alresford. We would come back and stay again. Customer 39 (May 2012)
Quiet, cosy and had everything we needed. Customer 40 (February 2012)
Cottage was absolutely wonderful, but tall people beware low ceilings and doorways. Central location for plenty of walking and the watercress steam train just down the road in Alresford. Central also for reaching the coast, New Forest and many other places, plenty to do and see. Customer 41 (December 2011)
Absolutely gorgeous cottage. Well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for cosy nights in. Customer 42 (September 2011)
Lovely cottage, fire all set up for us on arrival, just had to apply match, nice footpath route into "new" Alesford, which has some lovely eateries, George looked good didn’t get chance to eat there, Globe nice as is the Indian, lovely staff there. Horse and groom not so great, but served food later than others. Mind your head as cottage is what they call quaint, i.e built for my 5 foot girlfriend. Lovely though all part of the charm. Customer 43 (April 2011)
Lovely old cottage full of character with pleasant garden. Customer 44 (June 2010)
It was charming and cosy with a lovely garden full of flowers. The weather wasn’t warm enough to sit outside, but it would be a great spot in warmer weather. Customer 45 (May 2010)
Oldie worldie but comfortable and with all mod cons. Customer 46 (April 2010)
Cosy, and very ’English’ loved it, just wish there could of been a larger selection on the TV or DVD’s, as we just wanted to curl up on the sofa and relax. Beautiful beautiful, loved it!!! Wish we could of met the owner, appreciate it must be difficult, as they think they may not want to invade. Please thank them for allowing us into their stunning house. Customer 47 (March 2010)
Thatched roof, location, back garden, setting. Customer 48 (September 2009)
Old world charm and an excellent location. Customer 49 (August 2009)
Quiet, quaint, comfortable, cosy - especially when we made a fire. Good base for lots of things, Winchester by bus, Watercress railway and then train to central London. We even got the train to Chichester and went to the races at Goodwood -great. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday in an area we had not been to before. Customer 50 (July 2009)
Even more gorgeous and spacious than the photos show. Beautiful cottage and surrounding area. Intend to make this an annual event. Customer 51 (March 2009)
We loved the cottage. It is in a great location and the facilities were exactly what we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Customer 52 (March 2008)
